Guest Reviews
- Neillian (10/5): - The shower, the location and the bed! Nothing!
- Stoker (10/5): -
- Elizabeth (5/5): Beautiful lodge and location but no forward planning to mitigate cold weather conditions. - Location was peaceful but close to facilities in Dunkeld.
The accomodation was cosy and comfortable
Great wi fi.. The hot tub pipes burst presumably because they were frozen so it was unusable.
The decking which was the main access to the property was completely frozen and there was no grit or salt available. It was unsafe to walk on. Disappointing lack of care or support from hosts with regard to this.
- Robert (1/5): Comfortable yet disappointing - The property was in a nice location and the lodge was comfortable. The lodge was advertised as having a ‘hot tub,’ which was one of the main reasons we chose this property. Unfortunately, it was a major disappointment. We spent over five hours stoking the fire just to reach a semi lukewarm temperature, using three full bags of logs in the process. It would have been helpful if the hosts had mentioned that heating the tub would take this long especially given the cold weather and provided enough logs to actually make it usable.
If you’re planning to stay here in autumn or winter, be aware that the ‘hot tub’ is unlikely to be used unless you’re prepared to spend most of a day to keeping the fire going.
Another concern was the lack of visible fire safety measures in the lodge. There were no fire alarms or extinguishers that we could see, which is worrying considering the entire structure is made of wood.
- Graham (10/5): - Great attention, even to the smallest detail which made the stay exceptional. Can't think of anything.
- Laura JAROSIENE (9/5): Gorgeous place to stay - It's super clean and very comfortable. Beautiful little house. The hot tub was a bit disappointing. Maybe cos of a windy day was hard to get it warm enough
- Gerry (10/5): An amazing stay in a beautiful location - Beautiful location.
Absolutely spotless.
Great facilities. Nothing.
- history (6/5): Great cozy place but teething problems with bathroom. Hosts need to use it... - The bed was super comfortavle, spacious living space, well equipped, bags of hot water, nice setting. Could do with coasters as sone of surfaces were marked which is a shame when the annexe is so new. Lighting was very harsh and needs dimmers; also switches were not in helpful location (bedroom and kitchen). Bathroom was the worst thing: why doesn't it have a mirror!?? Shaving/ make up impossible and no task lighting. Shower leaked above the head splashing into the lighting which cannot be safe. Radiator and fan didn't work so difficult to dry towls which remained damp.... A real shame cos the trest of the annexe was lovely.
- Chris (9/5): Lovely - Lovely place, in a lovely part of Scotland. Perfect for a weekend in Dunkeld and surrounding areas. Only thing is that there was no mirror in the bathroom... tricky for shaving!! (That is very minor).
- George (10/5): A hidden gem of a place to chill.Staff came to our aid within minutes of arrival after a slight mishap with our vehicle. - Very relaxing & peaceful. Everything was fine.
- George (9/5): - Shower excellent and bed very comfortable. Setting was excellent with out door table and chairs. Although the actual shower was very good it left the toilet flooded and didn't dry up so I was warey it might be slippery. If they provided a mop to get rid of excess water that would have been a good solution. Also a " mind the step" notice as we constantly stubbed our toes on entering the bathroom. I also came a croper by bashing my head on the eaves which was the exact height and out of my eyeline. That would be the only negatives.
- Gemma (10/5): A hidden gem - Beautiful interior, comfy bed and in a lovely area Nothing
- Jamie (8/5): Very good -
- Blair (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (8/5): Relaxing in nature - Fantastic location, property was very comfortable WiFi was terrible, fridge was small and difficult to access, cooker could have done with instructions but owner was helpful in explaining and took note of suggestion re instructions
- Christopher (10/5): Excellent location and great value -
- Kate (10/5): I will be back again to stay. Recommend - Peaceful location, stunning comfortable accommodation. All comforts available. Very much a recommended stay, been bragging about it since got home.
Didn’t meet the hosts personally but felt I met them through their superb efforts to make my stay as welcome and happy as can be. Highly recommended. I have nothing negative to say at all. It was just perfect.
- Sally (10/5): Excellent comfortable and cosy - Lovely little cabin just right for 2 Fridge a little small
- Maeva (8/5): An ideal weekend getaway in the nature! - The location is perfect, just a stone’s throw from the Loch of the Lowes and nestled in stunning natural surroundings. It is wonderfully peaceful, and we even spotted some wildlife, including frogs passing by. The lodge itself is charming and cosy, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in the garden. The shower has no enclosure, so water spreads across the bathroom floor and takes a whole day to dry. I’d recommend bringing a squeegee to help direct the water towards the drain.
- Georgina (9/5): Cute cabin in a perfect location - Luxury touch to an outdoors holiday
- Keith (10/5): Excellent place to stay very quiet and peaceful xxxxx - Great place to stay very modern inside and very warm and cosy everything supplied enjoyed my week there met the owners who where super great and friendly willing to help out if needed .
Thanks for a wonderful stay 😎🙏👍 There is nothing to dislike to be honest
- Nadine (7/5): Picturesque hut in quiet area - The hut is very cozy, with a beautiful interior and lots of space. Everything is still very new and clean, facilities are good. There is a Nespresso coffee machine, capsules were provided which was great.
The hut is located about 6mins drive from Dunkeld and in a very quiet area, with a wooden fence protecting it from the view of the two neighbouring houses. A hot tub in the front yard is currently under construction which will be a great feature in the future. Some of the facilities can be improved, for example a mirror in the bathroom, some hooks on the wall or more storage space in the fridge. WiFi reception is unfortunately very weak.
The cottage isn't well isolated, there is a constant draft from the door and the floors are very cold, which makes heating energy intensive.
The host was friendly but communication was a bit slow, would have appreciated a quick check-in upon arrival.
