Guest Reviews
- Jackie (9/5): A fabulous stay with our family in a beautiful cottage. - Very comfortable for 12 of us and spotlessly clean. Everything you would need was supplied including cleaning supplies which was appreciated. Good communication with the host who helped with a couple of minor issues. Close to town centre down a steep hill which kept us fit! Boscastle is beautiful with some lovely friendly pubs and good walks. Would recommend.
- KARRA (10/5): -
- Tamsin (10/5): - Great size for large party, great location, walking distance to town/ harbour as well as nearby pub (napolean) with great food and atmosphere.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Perfect place for our gregarious troop to celebrate my 76th birthday! - Myrtle Cottage is spacious, cosy and comfortable. Shirley was very helpful and a good host. Great value for 7 of us and 1 dog. There is plenty of gear in the kitchen for cooking and we enjoyed eating in after a couple of great coastal walks. The dining room- the old shop - was atmospheric for the Murder Mystery that we found with the games. It's there waiting for the next group to.enjoy!
A classic old Cornish cottage in a beautiful part of the Duchy. There was nothing that we didn't like. We didn't use the garden as it was October but it looked very inviting after a day out and was kitted out for a relaxing end to the day. Parking for 1 car so we used the spacious public car park for the other 2. Free from 4 pm until 9.00 am and then cheap for a day's parking in this area of the country! Well done on this Boscastle.
- Stephen (9/5): - Parking was a squeeze, but we had been prewarned of this by the owner. It was fine for us because we had only one car.
- Tom (10/5): -
- Tracey (8/5): Very good -
- Manjaly (9/5): Superb -
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cameron (10/5): We had a great time celebrating a birthday in the family in such a lovely location...we loved it! - Fabulous stay - generous spaces for a group stay. Loved the natural light in the dining area as well as the great selection of Christian books :) Not really a "didn't like" but more we wondered if a night light at the top of the stairs might be a good idea? (Just to avoid falls on the three way steps)
- Andrew (8/5): Lovely location and house but tricky parking! - Lovely house with lots of space and very well equipped. The parking situation is very challenging if there is a large group of you. Very difficult to find nearby spaces.
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vicky (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the location and the history of the property. Very comfortable
- Maureen (10/5): A Jewell of a property in Boscastle’s crown - Spacious property with a ground floor en suite bedroom, which is perfect for those that struggle to climb the stairs! Every need catered for, we will be booking again 😁 We loved everything!
- Megan (9/5): Charming cottage - very well equipped and clean. - Lovely cottage with plenty of room and well equipped. Only inconvenience was that you can only park one vehicle at the cottage but there was plenty of street parking close by.
- Clare (7/5): Lovely spacious find in a beautiful location - Really lovely place to stay. Very homely and just what we were looking for. Great layout too. Mattresses we all felt could do with being more comfortable. None of us slept great due to them. Mine certainly was like sleeping on a board. The bed in the single room was squeaky, may need the bed tightening. This didn't hinder the stay we had but all looking forward to own beds tonight
- Jennifer (10/5): We loved the house. We had a wonderful stay. Shirly was so helpful, many thanks. - Everything was great for us. Parking
- Huxham (10/5): Exceptional -
- Heaven (9/5): Superb - Everything Weather
- Helen (10/5): Absolutely beautiful cottage in a wonderful location. - A beautiful cottage in a wonderful location. Spotlessly clean with a well equipped kitchen and everything you could possibly need. We didn't want to leave. You can not improve on perfection.
- Cath (10/5): Perfect, comfortable, and enjoyable stay - The property was very clean, tidy and well kept. It was very spacious for the 12 of us. It worked perfectly. Would definitely return. Kudos to Shirley for being an exemplary host and so kind. The cottage is well equipped in the bathrooms, kitchens etc. we took lots of things with us such as bin bags, cleaning items etc but they were already provided. The cottage has plenty of space where you could all be together if you wanted or separate. The games choices went down a treat on a rainy Saturday afternoon too.
Parking was a bit of a challenge on the streets but it is what it is. Didn’t spoil our time there.
The cottage is in a perfect location, a short stroll down to the harbour. Such a lovely picturesque place.
- Stephanie (8/5): Fantastic stay for all the family - Plenty of room for nine people.
Beautiful location . Everything you could need . Near to pubs and corner shop Some low ceilings. One or two bumps on the head.
- Ben (8/5): Very good -
- Alithea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cameron (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracey (8/5): Lovely cute accommodation - Great location lots of room Not there fault but power went out as we were cooking dinner didn’t go on till 10:30 very awkward. No non electricity heat or candles to help
- James (10/5): Fantastic for big family get away. - Location. Homely feel to the cottage, spacious. Clean, dad today items available in kitchen, corner shop and pub just 2/4 minutes walk away. Parking was scare but expected in an old Cornish village.
- Neil (10/5): Fantastic stay! - Great location, very nice property with plenty of room. There were 8 of us so everyone got a room! Nothing
- Dave (9/5): Great stay - It was lovely, it was for my mum's 60th and we had a great time. Parking was a bit of a nightmare as we all came in different cars, but we were told different places we could park which was really helpful
- Tim (10/5): Great Stay - Fabulous character property in excellent location
- Remko (8/5): Perfect location for a good price. - Lovely cottage in a charming village, right next to the sea. Ampel parking space, great rooms, just as shown on the pictures. Enough privacy for each of our group. The multiple showers meant we didn't have to wait for one another. Everything was clean and in perfect order.

- Chloe (10/5): Fantastic weekend away for my birthday with friends and family. - Loads of space. Lovely old cottage. Brilliantly located. Short walk to pubs and shops. Beautiful countryside walking from the door. We absolutely loved it! NA
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional stay that far exceeded our expectations - Size of the property suited our needs perfectly. It was well equipped and beautifully decorated in a Cornish cottage style.
- Jane (10/5): Exceptional - Great location. Top of a very steep hill though - so would be difficult for people with limited mobility.
- Stuart (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely spacious and well furnished property. Was exactly as described. Would love to visit again when we have more time for a longer stay.
- Ian (8/5): Very good - Character property that would use again in a very convenient location for hospitality.shop nearby.Comfortable and excellent heating and water. One of the little on suite bathrooms has a shower in which the controls are crossed over somehow ie it doesn’t switch off if you turn to off instead you have to turn it to the first red-dot position.it only gets hot on the blue dot and on the double red dot it runs cold.
- Spineynorman (8/5): Lovely weekend in Boscastle. - Comfortable, spacious (just 2 couples staying) and very well equipped accommodation, with many thoughtful touches. Some parts of the house could do with a cosmetic freshening up. Having to sign up online to a service called Roku, in order to watch anything on the lounge TV. Found everything we needed/wanted, except for a teapot!
- Marie (9/5): Superb -
- David (10/5): Excellent holiday cottage. - Shirley was helpful and friendly. The Cottage was perfect for our stay and we had a lovely time. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, it couldn't have been better. Very comfy lounge and plenty of dining space. The cottage is full of character and very spacious.
And there was an off-road parking space! Nothing.
- Vijay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Louise (9/5): Great property, beautiful house with lots of character. - I use a mobility scooter and was able to drive my scooter into the property via the the double doors, also flat access from the road to the house
- Liva (10/5): Beautiful and HUGE house in a picturesque village close to the sea and everything Cornwall is offering. - Everything :)
- Ewa (10/5): Excellent - Very comfortable cottage. The standard of everything is excellent. We had very good nights sleeps in super comfy beds.
Will highly recommend to friends and hope to be back.
- Penny (9/5): Quaint village, quirky cottage, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. - Cottage was full of character and had everything we needed. Spotlessly clean. Nice garden. Host was very helpful. Fabulous pub just up the road. Having two parking spaces was very useful. A couple of the beds could have been more comfortable but the others were fine. The parking space was a bit tight to get into but we managed ok.
- Reshma (7/5): Good -
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (8/5): Very good weekend good beaches only a short distance away - the character of the cottage Didn't realise it was quite such a steep hill
- James (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing historic cottage, walking distance from downtown Boscastle. Lots of space and very clean. Also fully equipped for cooking.
- Kay (10/5): Beautiful and very accommodating - This cottage is so beautiful with so much space! many of the bedrooms are decent sizes and the beds are comfortable. The little seating area out the front was enjoyed by us all in the sun, early morning and even the evening. I loved the window bay seat located in the kitchen and all of the furniture around the home. The downstairs bedroom and wet room was perfectly accommodating for my dad with disabilities. This property also isn’t very far from the town at all. We enjoyed the trail located near the top of the hill as well as a visit to the pub near by. We also loved noticing little reminiscences of the old butchers that used to be in the home. The entire place was very clean and we just felt so welcomed. We were all very sad to leave such a beautiful place. Some of the lights in the house didn’t work although we didn’t mind too much as there are lamps in every room and understand the home is old. At one point the hot water and heating didn’t work but after a quick call with the owner the problem was fixed. We also found it incredibly hard to park on the driveway but got there eventually and then also made use of the other parking space at the top of the hill. Other than the many creepy spiders (which we of course expected from an old cottage) there are no other faults.
- Maryte (10/5): everything perfect.we really recommend this place - Lovely place to stay.We really enjoyed. we liked everything
