Guest Reviews
- Craig (7/5): Fine - Good location , pleasant staff Building is obviously very old and it needs a refurbishment, but it was all we needed!
- Diwivo (10/5): Leuk hotel in het centrum - Locatie, kamer De bedden, je rolde naar elkaar toe, matrassen waren erg zacht.
- Jonathan (6/5): - Central. Walks really thin so you can hear everything from next door.
- Maria (9/5): Great place to stay. Would definitely recommend. - Great location. Friendly staff. Warm and comfortable Nothing.
- michelle (7/5): Excellent location, check in was easy and staff were helpful. We understand the property is old but cleaning wasn’t the - Great location Very dated and not very clean
- Stephen (10/5): Everything was great, I will be aiming to stay at the George Hotel next time I am in the area. - Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was really nice, and it was easy enough to add the breakfast to the stay using their online portal. The location was ideal. N/A
- Karen (9/5): -
- Chris (7/5): Nice staff working hard / welcoming did the best with what they had - Good beers and hot showers A bit worn looking
- Vicki (6/5): Its a shame. - Great location. Great value breakfast. Great staff. Work in and around hotel which we were not informed about prior to visit. Tired and worn room, strange smell in room (13) Poor corridor lighting at night/morning.

- James (9/5): Excellent Customer Service -
- Damian (3/5): Very disappointing in view of the price - Bedroom ok Nobody on reception on our arrival.
No plug in bathroom sink.
Kettle lid broken (the hinge bit had broken off), and evidently just left.
Shower head didn't fit anywhere.
No parking.
Food poor.
General impression, the place is run on a minimum cost basis, with poor quality control.
- John (4/5): Nice welcome but room 13 was very poor state - Location Room 13 was very worn out, holes in the wall presumably where fittings had been pulled out, needed redecorating at the least, bathroom was functional but mould and mildew on the grout etc. Accept it’s an old building but not an excuse for that state of decoration in bedroom and en-suite
- Mary (9/5): Would definitely book again, location was great and good value for money. - Good value, fab breakfast, great location, friendly helpful staff. There was nothing not to like!
- Shirley (8/5): Good - Location good went down for breakfast now one about so packed up and left The room was cold Sunday night could of done with heating on as was frozen after my shower and cold through the night and in the morning my husband was even cold and he is usually warm

- Deborah (6/5): -
- Jeffrey (5/5): OK, but overpriced. - Friendly staff, good housekeeping. Whole place felt shabby. Lights didn’t work on upper landing. Both taps in bathroom delivered lukewarm warm water, not hot and cold.
- Trevor (6/5): Ok… bit expensive for what we got and bar was very quiet at night … - Location Very quiet..
- Dan (3/5): Bring an eye m- - Breakfast was great Bathroom window only had a net curtain which was inadequate for privacy at night
Bedroom window had a very thin curtain with a large floodlight just outside. It felt like daylight all night!

- Catherine (7/5): Cosy friendly right in heart of town - Cozy and friendly and accommodative for our family if 10 Rooms dated decor and could do with cleaning extractor thick dust and using mild remover for tiles

- Donna (10/5): Perfect - Friendly staff lovely atmosphere
- Keith (3/5): Disappointing - Convenient location, spacious room Room deco and furnishings are rather tired - peeling, marked wall paper, generally felt a little grubby. In the bathroom, there was black mould on the grout in the shower and pink mould on the shower rose (Room 13) - these need removal with bleach solution.
Breakfast was disappointing: no decaff tea or coffee available; only cooked breakfast available - no cereals or yogurt, no marmalade. Service was slow at breakfast - it felt as if nothing was going on in the kitchen initially.
- Peter (7/5): Comfy room and located close to town centre. - Location and easy access to town was good. There was no healthy option for breakfast. No cereals or fruit appeared to be an option.

- Rachel (7/5): Very comfy bed, food great just needs some TLC in the room - Close to the centre of town, nice big room and bed was very comfortable, staff very accommodating, ate in the pub on the evening we arrived and it was lovely.. It could do with a lick of paint and bit of modernisation, would be better with laminate flooring throughout the room. Bedroom window had to put cardboard in to stop it rattling with the wind, bathroom window could do with a privacy film on it..

- Clare (9/5): The Lakes - Staff were friendly and accommodating and fixed bar food (sandwich) to be ready when got in late. A comfortable room and a good night's sleep . Hotel is central location, two minutes from bus stops (near Station Road) and four minutes from Moot Hall and markets (Thursdays and Saturdays) and some amazing shops, cafés and bars.
