Guest Reviews
- Timothy (10/5): Short stay in castle with grandchildren - Took 2 of our grandchildren who loved the look of the “castle” was spotless and well equipped with fabulous views.
- Derrick Wr (10/5): We only had 2 nights at Kinley tower ,but it could not have been better.Beautiful place. - Kinley tower was just perfect. The place was spotless, and the location was so peacefull.I will definately be rebooking.100% recommended. Nothing to dislike at all

- Lorna (7/5): Beautiful, unique property-incredible views, but more transparency needed on the listing - Really lovely location and the accommodation was cosy and clean. The views were lovely! There really needs to be something on the listing re. The main gate that closes at night. We had been at a wedding and arrived back at 11:30 to find the main gate closed. I had to scale the style and make the 20 + mins walk back to the tower (in heels!) up the very, very dark country lane. This was obviously less than ideal and for anyone less able this would have been a considerable issue. It is also concerning that emergency services would not have been able to get through should anyone need them during their stay. The gate either needs to stay open or you need to be totally transparent on the listing so that people can judge this circumstance. The walk to the beach was also longer than stated.

- Anonymous (10/5): Brilliant - It’s was immaculately clean beautiful place fantastic views and surroundings I would highly recommend to anyone I will definitely be coming back so peaceful and horses make it even more special the place is so peaceful and comfortable 5 minutes away to town and beach which is beautiful
- Elsie (10/5): Exceptional - N/A all fine
- April (10/5): Beautiful building in an excellent location for walking - The location was amazing, very modern property Everything was amazing
- Lisa (9/5): Lovely relaxing break with excellent views. Would stay again. - We loved the location and the view. It was just what we needed. Peace and quiet and beautiful sea views. And of course the horses. Plenty of walks nearby and the sunrise was lovely. Bed was very comfortable.
- Wendy (10/5): Lovely location beach and independent shops - The property was very clean and well equipped.
- Nigel (9/5): Superb - Great elevated sea views, spacious open plan livingroom and kitchen. Lovely to relax on the 2 sofas in the evening with the double doors open.
Dining table and chairs. Fridge, washing machine, kettle, toaster, no microwave. Plenty of work surface.
Surrounded by the wonderful horses from the local livery yard.
Don't expect a deep soak from the bath, but it does its job. Leave enough hot water for the next person if refilling the bath again soon.
Access the beach via the Dene.
Just a few minutes' drive into Seaham, where there are cafés, supermarkets, and of course the beaches.
Good parking.
Outside seating to enjoy sunrise and sunset, watch the sea traffic, mainly tankers, the odd ferry, and the horses and ponies.
Would stay again. Thank you.
- Louise (8/5): Beautiful property and setting, requires a clean in areas - Building and setting. The tower was well equipped and cosy. Windows, mirror in bathroom and some crockery and cutlery were not clean. The natural stonework in the kitchen is covered in dust and cobwebs.
The starry skies were spectacular but we had to clean a window to make the most of the view.
- Cathie (9/5): Comfortable and quiet little castle - Lovely accommodation in a beautiful quiet area. It was clean and modern and had everything we needed. No shower
- John (8/5): the tower - Such a lovely place. very unique stunning, quiet. lovely walks. so relaxing 😌. High standard of the place is great, the feel is very homely loved it. A few things let it down, for the high quality of the place, to have a small cheap toaster and cheap toilet seat which slid to the side, I felt let it down. the shower attached to bath didn't work properly. apart from those things which are easily fixable. it was stunning.
- Doug (10/5): Warm and cosy mini-castle. Fantastic location. Friendly and helpful hosts. - Amazing location. Solid rebuild of old folly. Very cosy and comfortable. Maybe a microwave in the kitchen?
- Alec (8/5): Despite the few niggles with facilities, it was a lovely place to stay , - Absolutely stunning location , stunning building , spotlessly clean and east to gain access A few items vital for a holiday were missing, no microwave, nowhere to hang towels in bathroom, no drapes in bedroom, no mirror in bedroom
- Benediktsdottir (8/5): Very good - Beautiful location, helpful hosts and cozy vibe all around! All the information we needed was communicated well, and they also had a blue folder in the living room with further information about the property. The small shower head connected to the bath did not stay on properly, and we therefore had to have very awkward half bath/ half showers. There wasn't enough hot water to fill up a decent hot bath. This was uncomfortable to say the least.
- John (4/5): Disappointed that a £165 a night premium venu doesnt deliver a premium experience! - Great looking building On arrival all the windows were open, There is no central heating, just oil filled radiators here and there.
There was no welcome pack to tell you how to power up the fridge, turn the water immersion on, etc. I found the water heater but search as I did I couldn’t find a way to put the fridge on.
There was a bin liner sitting on the bin in the kitchen (why wasn’t it just put in the bin?)
There were some fancy tea bags, fancy coffees and some fancy biscuits (and a few loose English tea bags) however no milk (long life would have been nice) one of the reasons I had to go back out!
I arrived on the Thursday evening, at around 8.30pm and had to go back out once I’d settled in. I got back at 11:30 to find the gate shut, fortunately it wasn’t locked (just as well cos the code I was sent didn’t work) now here’s the really annoying part.
The owners knew I was there for a wedding on the Friday evening, as I’d sent them an email prior to booking the venue to check about access to the property, so why on earth would you lock the gate on the Friday night knowing that, surely they must have known I would be getting a taxi or lift back after the event?? To be honest I’d have told the taxi driver to drop me at the gate and locked it up myself, however I didn’t have that option as they had locked the gate and the code I had didn’t unlock it! I ended up having to climb the gate.
- Susan (9/5): A fantastic property in an amazing location, simply perfect for recharging the batteries and some much needed family tim - Beautifully styled and furnished converted property, in a lovely location with breathtaking seaside walks from the doorstep.
This was our third stay at the property and we simply love everything about the property. Loved everything….
- Carrianne (9/5): Unique property in a tranquil location - Such a cozy and unique propery in a tranquil location surrounded by horses in fields. The property had pretty much everything we needed for a few days away. It was just a 12m drive to our favourite beach as well, and less than 5m drive from a shopping area, so in a brilliant location. Only had a bath, with a small immersion heater, which meant we had to be careful about using hot water if we both wanted baths. There was a shower head on the taps, but it didn't stay on, you had to use one hand to keep the water switched to the shower head.
- Samantha (9/5): Clean and comfortable stay in perfect location - Location, clean, comfortable, well maintained, cozy Shower
