• Monika (10/5): Eine sehr persönliche Unterkunft - Die Einrichtung war liebevoll und harmonisch. John hat wundervolles Frühstück zubereitet. Tolle Ausflugtipps und andere nützliche Infos gegeben. Die Lage war perfekt mit herrlicher Sicht. Wir wären gerne länger geblieben.

• Aurora (10/5): eine 10/10 kann ich jedem empfehlen!!! - Alles, das Zimmer ist sehr schön eingerichtet und man fühlt sich von der ersten Sekunde gleich wohl. John ist einer der nettesten Menschen die ich je getroffen habe. Er hat uns tolle Reisetipps gegeben und war allgemein sehr gesellig. Sein Hund Alfie ist auch ein Goldschatz! Das Frühstück war der hammer, er kocht es gleich frisch für seine Gäste. Würde immer wieder dahin zurück! habe überhaupt nichts zu bemängeln!

• Markus (10/5): - John unser Gastgeber ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Die Zimmer liegen im 1. Stock, sind ausreichend groß und liebevoll eingerichtet. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Man kann den kleinen Kühlschrank im Breakfast Room nutzen. Morgens wird das schottische Frühstück frisch zubereitet und lässt keine Wünsche offen. In 5 Minuten ist man nach Tobermory reingelaufen. Parkplätze sind direkt vor Ort. Nichts

We will be back. - John did a terrific job of communicating with us regarding ferry schedules and reservations, dinner reservations, local attractions etc. The property is in a perfect location and is spotless due to attention to detail. The breakfasts were outstanding. The comfortable beds helped us recharge with a restful sleep for the days ahead. A perfect stay!
• Di (10/5): Brilliant friendly place to stay. We would return - Really comfy bed. Excellent bathroom with huge fluffy towels. Great breakfast especially the homemade tattie scones. Very friendly helpful owner. A great stay and we would return in an instant. It's at the top of a steep hill, which gives you a great view. It's ok to walk down, but to come back you either have to be fit or have a taxi (£5), the owners partner gave us a lift up one night when we'd forgotten the taxi numbers / names which was above and beyond that we expected.

Beim Frühstück wird man mit allen Wünschen bekocht. Man merkt richtig, dass hier alles mit viel Leidenschaft und Herz geführt wird. John hat uns so viele tolle Ideen und Tipps für unseren Aufenthalt auf Isle of Mull gegeben. Absolute Empfehlung!!! Danke für diese tolle Zeit! Es gab nichts zum aussetzen

For us staying at Burbank was a highlight of our stay in Scotland. It could not have been better. Comfortable, great breakfasts and an absolutely perfect location, with fantastic views of the bay.

The communication prior to our visit was first class, advising us to book our ferry and also places to eat. John also recommended good walks and things to do. He advised a walk around Aros Park which was glorious with fantastic views of Tobermory. For us staying at Burbank was a highlight of our 2 week stay in Scotland. It could not have been better. Comfortable, great breakfasts and an absolutely perfect location, with fantastic views of the bay and very handy for the amenities. Absolutely nothing. We loved it all.

• Jennifer (10/5): We would definitely like to return to Burnbank and stay a few more days in warmer months to see the puffins and visit Io - The cottage is very cute with a lovely view over Tobermory harbour. Good parking is close by and it’s possible to leave the car and explore the town. John is very warm and welcoming, and extremely good at communication and has extensive local knowledge for sight seeing. The breakfast was scrumptious and hot chocolate when we returned from a cold day of driving was appreciated. The house is warm and immaculate and has been our favourite stay of three weeks in Scotland.

Clean and tidy accommodation and accommodated us with help yourself breakfast when we had an early start on day one, we managed to sneak in a fabulous cooked breakfast on our last day. The rooms are spotless and comfy, with fantastic views. John makes an excellent breakfast that will keep you going most of the day. We would definitely recommend Burnbank and hope to return in the future. Everything was perfect.
• Urmila (10/5): Fabulous stay- would recommend and would definitely stay there again! - The host, John, was excellent; attentive, very accommodating, very kind and helpful. The breakfast was delicious ; especially the home made potato scones. The room was lovely and had a beautiful view. There was an outdoor shed for me to store and charge an electric bike which was ideal. My stay was comfortable and homely and I also loved the little dog Alfie! The property location was elevated from the Main Street so there was a steep incline to get to and from the Main Street of Tobermory although it only took 8 minutes. The weather was against us!

• MATEO (10/5): Extraordinaire - Merci John! Je ne sais pas par où commencer tellement tout était super!  Déjà l'emplacement, idéal sur Tobermory et quelle superbe propriété, on aimerait y habiter. Ensuite la chambre : confortable, propre, avec vue sur la mer, on s'y sent tellement bien. Et puis John est vraiment aux petits soins!! Tout le temps disponible. Il s'adapte à vos besoins et rend votre séjour sur l'île inoubliable, notamment grâce à ses nombreux conseils. Le petit-déjeuner quant à lui est excellent. Merci encore.  J'ai également remarqué que John met un point de détail à avoir le plus de produits locaux possibles ( le bacon, le haggis, les biscuits, les savons et j'en oublie sûrement) Vraiment tout était génial, n'hésitez plus, si vous venez sur l'île de Mull, vous savez où séjourner. Petite pensée à Alfie qui apporte sa petite touche!

The place is absolutely spotless and thoughtfully prepared. You can feel that someone had meticulously prepared the room and the bathroom for comfort and efficiency. The breakfast is prepared to order with high quality ingredients. We felt welcome even before we arrived on the island. Genuinely, thank you for making our stay so pleasant.

The room was exceptionally clean and homely and was always fully stocked with everything you needed. The breakfast was always amazing and freshly cooked with different options too and always greeted with a coffee. John was so helpful by suggesting places to visit and recommendations. But to also be greeted by little Alfie the dog (we love dogs so we wanted to say hi). Couldn’t recommend Johns BnB enough.

• Cheryl (10/5): Amazing - We had a fantastic stay at Burnbank BnB. It's super clean, all decorated gorgeously, the en-suite is massive and the view from the room is spectacular. The bed and pillows are comfortable, the bath towels are lovely and big and we loved the smell of the sea salt reed diffuser. The cooked breakfast was delicious and John catered for me being a vegetarian - first time I've tried vegetarian haggis and it was really good. John is the perfect host! Thank you so much for having us, we loved our stay!

We enjoyed Calgary Bay & the art sculpture trail, Aros Park & waterfalls, a walk to the lighthouse & a visit to Glengorm Castle & the standing stones before we left the area. John's recommendation for a meal at Cafe Fish was wonderful. Friendly welcome, great food & we sat outside to finish our wine - just perfect. (You do need to book in advance & its5cash only). All in all, a wonderful start to our visit to Mull. Absolutely nothing. Everything was 5☆

• Sascha (10/5): Awesome BnB, lovely hosts, anytime again. - One of the best BnB's we have stayed over the years. John's incredible care about detail, being just lovely and making a great breakfast made the stay fantastic. You can probably get a review score of 8.5/10 with hard work, but the 9.9 this place has and deserves you only achive if your heart is fully in it. From my elderly parents to my wife and me, we all felt wonderfully being there. I'd love to write something here, so it doesn't look like a fanboy review, but I can not come up with anything.

Man spürt sofort, dass er sein Bed & Breakfast mit viel Liebe und Sinn fürs Detail betreibt. Wohlfühlfaktor 10 von 10!!! Es gibt absolut nichts auszusetzen, eine tolle Unterkunft mit einem wunderbar herzlichen Host! Große Freude hat uns auch der verspielte Hund des Hauses, Alfie, bereitet! <3 Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Everything was excellent. The bed was incredibly comfortable. There is a lovely and very friendly puppy named Alfie who loves to play ball if you would like to play with him!

John ist ein sehr angenehmer Gastgeber und sein Hund Alfie ist zum Verlieben. Das Frühstück ist hervorragend. Danke für den wunderschönen Aufenthalt! Da gab es nichts, was mir nicht gefallen hat. Den Dauerregen am Montag fand ich nicht so toll.

• Frank (10/5): Unvergesslich auf einer Reise durch Schottland - Ich weiß nicht wo man anfängt. Wir wurden herzlich begrüßt. Auf Anfrage könnten wir auf Grund des Wetters früher anreisen. Die Unterkunft machte von vornherein einen gemütlichen Eindruck. Das Zimmer war groß mit Ausblick auf die Bucht in Tobermory. Dazu gibt es noch ein großes Badezimmer. Das Frühstück wurde in einem Frühstücksraum, ebenfalls mit Aussicht serviert. John der Gastgeber ist einfach perfekt, seine freundliche Art, das leckere Frühstück, verschiedenste Kaffeezubereitung auf Wunsch. John, du warst auf auf unserer dreiwöchigen Rundreise durch Schottland, der beste Gastgeber. Ein Aufenthalt bei dir ist nicht nur empfehlenswert, sondern ein muss bei einen Aufenthalt in Tobermory. Ach da gibt es noch John's flauschigen Vierbeiner, ein lieber Kerl !

Unseres hatte einen schönen Blick auf die Bucht. John ist der perfekte Gastgeber im besten Sinne. Sein frisch zubereitetes Frühstück war jedesmal ein Genuss. Man fühlt sich wie zu Hause vom ersten Augenblick an. Einfach nur schön!

Nice easy cliff walk to the lighthouse stunning views. Other walks close slightly more challenging. Great place to visit. Host John was full of information and ideas. Will certaintly return when next in that area. Nothing everwhere we went clean and all locals friendly and helpfull.

• Beth (10/5): Like a relaxing visit with family. - Quiet, relaxing and clean. It felt like staying with family. John thinks of every detail. The harbor view is beautiful.
• Juliette (10/5): Parfait ! - Tout était parfait. Le lit était très confortable et la chambre était d’une propreté irréprochable. La vue sur la mer était magnifique. L’accueil de John était incroyable, tout est fait pour que l’on se sente bien. John s’adapte à tous les besoins (par exemple les intolérances alimentaires pour le petit déjeuner) et conseille plein de choses à faire sur l’île de Mull. Il est d’un grand professionnalisme. Encore un grand merci pour votre accueil et ces deux jours géniaux ! Rien, tout est parfait, pensé dans les moindres détails !

• Andreas (10/5): Eine Unterkunft vom Feinsten mit Wohlfühlfaktor - Das Burnbank BnB ist eine Top Unterkunft in zentraler, aber ruhiger Lage über Tobermory, mit einem herrlichen Ausblick auf das Meer. Die Zimmer sind liebevoll und gemütlich eingerichtet, das Frühstück wird je nach Vorliebe individuell zubereitet und eine Vielzahl an Informationen über die ganze Insel stehen zu Verfügung. John ist der perfekte Gastgeber, freundlich, hilfsbereit und immer gut gelaunt. Viel Spaß hat uns auch Alfie bereitet, der verspielte Hund des Hauses. Dieser Aufenthalt war vom Feinsten und wir freuen uns bereits auf das nächste Jahr.
• Matthias (10/5): Vielen Dank an den Gastgeber, der sich sehr viel Mühe gibt, es dem Gast perfekt zu machen - Es war sehr sauber, liebevoll und durchdacht eingerichtet. Es hat an nichts gefehlt. Dass ich nicht länger da sein konnte :)
• Camay_c (10/5): Perfection - Everything from the quiet, tranquil location, yet a convenient a 5 min walk to main street, the clean, very comfortable and well stocked room/en suite John is best BnB host EVER nothing was any bother and he was very obliging and gave us excellent recommendations for dining options Delicous cooked breakfast too Alfie the dog was an extra special surprise too Genuinely hope to return as soon as there are any vacancies... Zero, everything perfect, 5 *
• Lucy (10/5): Friendly, welcoming and a very comfortable bnb with the perfect host. - We had a fantastic stay at Burnbank. The room and bed was super comfy, great ensuite bathroom. Breakfast was delicious. John was such a great host , super helpful, and great advice on trips. The position was perfdft, great views and a lovely sunny garden. I would highly recommend as a place to base yourself from when visiting Mull. Nothing
• Russell (10/5): An incredibly welcoming, comfortable and relaxing place to stay. - What didn't we like! The room was great, the bed was comfy, the view was amazing, the biscuits and filtered water in the room were a lovely touch, great shower, fabulous cooked breakfast.......especially John's Potato Scone! Clean, tidy, welcoming dining room, great gardens to sit in, 5 mins walk from the town, John was brilliant and a very welcoming host, and Alfie the dog is a real star with the softest fur! Nothing at all!

• Silke (10/5): - Sehr, sehr schön. Ein sehr großes Bad, ein bequemes Bett, alles ganz liebevoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Auch die Details im Garten sind einen Blick wert. Dazu perfektes Frühstück nach Wunsch. John ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, hilft gerne bei der Tagesplanung. Unbedingt besuchen sollte man auch Café and Fish, sehr leckeres Essen. Wir waren rundum glücklich, sagen Danke und kommen sehr gerne wieder.
• Lesly (10/5): Welcoming and comfortable place to stay. - Beautiful old home with modern comforts. Very clean. Close to town and in a quiet neighborhood. John was a great host. It was perfect.
• Katharine (10/5): Gorgeousness - Loved; loved, loved Burnbank ! John was the perfect host. The house, room and garden were gorgeous with a fab view over the Sound. Breakfast delicious. That we had to leave!
• Ian (9/5): Very enjoyable stay! Hope to return. - Great hosts with very helpful communications from John in advance and during our stay. Comfortable room. The location is very handy for Tobermory harbour and its eateries and shops. Parking was easy enough along the street outside. The breakfasts were very good, with lots of beans and the local sausage is very tasty (perhaps as the pigs are fed biscuits from the Island Bakery!). Hope to return before too long :)

• Sara (10/5): Perfect spot to stay in Tobermory, clean rooms, welcoming host, and delicious breakfast! - Burnbank BnB was perfect for our stay in Tobermory! The garden area out front is beautiful, the room was clean and welcoming, and the location is just a short walk to Tobermory. John is an amazing host and breakfast was delicious! I also appreciated all the extra little touches like make-up remover wipes, tea, coffee, and shortbread in our room. Nothing! I only wish we could have stayed longer!

• Jon (10/5): Can’t wait to go back. - Delightful, cosy and luxurious B&B overlooking the sea on the outskirts of Tobermory. Run superbly by John and Robert ably assisted by Alfie the dog. Comfy king bed & en suite with quality linens and lovely touches throughout, spotlessly clean, nothing was too much trouble during our too-short stay. Breakfast is flexible and impeccably cooked, ample information about local attractions and all only a short (if steep) walk down to the seafront. Great value for money, would definitely return. Not the best for less mobile guests due to the steep walk into town.
• Claire (10/5): Lovely Easter weekend on the Isle of Mull for a wedding and we were so lucky to book in to the Burnbank - The BnB is wonderful- lovely decor, spotlessly clean and exceptional hospitality! Breakfast is amazing.
