Guest Reviews
- Simon (10/5): - Very Nice, good food and very clean Not much
- Mike1505 (10/5): - Everything
- Alison (10/5): We were comfortable, they did a nice breakfast and when it was not raining the view from the dinning room was beautiful. - Location was a key step to all the hikes. We had no dislikes
- Patricia (10/5): First Class Hotel - The staff are attentive, friendly and gave us a warm welcome.
The hotel is immaculate and fitted with first class furnishings and decorated to a very high standard everywhere.
The beds are very comfortable.
The hotel is positioned in a lovely area and if you stay in a room at the front, you will have a stunning view.
Plenty of choice at breakfast and we highly recommend eating in the restaurant on an evening. The steak pie is amazing. I would have liked another comfy chair in the bedroom, so that one of us didn't have to sit on the bed to watch TV.
- David (10/5): No complaints at all, everything good! -
- Helen (9/5): Lovely place and excellent base for exploring the area - Really friendly staff. Good menu throughout the day. Beautiful comfortable room (room 22) with stunning views of the fells. Large corner shower in the good sized bathroom. Excellent base for exploring the lakes and Cumbrian coast Just be aware there is no lift and the stairs down to reception are quite steep....but the room was worth the climb.😀
- Michael (9/5): would use again - no complaints at all the stairs
- Leigh (10/5): Everything is just perfect - Food is amazing
Beds are comfortable N/A
- Audrey (10/5): - Lovely hotel, the food was really good and the staff went out of their way to look after us. We will certainly be back Nothing

- Sue (9/5): Lovely staff, lovely hotel, lovely area. - All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel and our room were lovely. Although we were grateful for off-road parking, the carpark access was steep, and manoeuvring in and out of a space wasn't easy. That said, I recognise that remedying this wouldn't be straightforward.
- Safhill (10/5): The dedication of the staff made our Anniversary Celebration weekend special for us. - Hard working, attentive and friendly staff are what make this place special. The food is of a very high standard and the hotel warrants the praise it receives.
- Joanne (10/5): Fantastic - Wonderful view of Skiddaw from the terrace, fantastic food throughout the day. Room was spacious and clean. Staff were great. Easy walk or short bus ride to Keswick. Great access to lots of Wainwrights for the keen hiker. Lovely quiet village. Easy to get to as directly off the A66. Quite close to A66 so a tiny amount of road noise.
- Mariia (9/5): I recommend it for a calm weekend in Cumbria. - I loved the location! And the bed was so huge! Everything is great!
- Savage (10/5): Absolutely brilliant can’t wait return - The decor was stunning and in such good taste. Very clean high standard. The food was exceptional. The staff were courteous and attentive. Such a relaxing stay. I liked everything

- Jinny (10/5): A lovely stay, delicious food, friendly helpful staff - Modern, clean and comfortable Could do with a blind in the bathroom
- Lisa (10/5): - Fabulous hotel, beautiful location.Food excellent. Slight frustration when staff forgot coffee orders at dinner, then tea at breakfast.
- Martin (8/5): Short stay - Room very clean and nice staff friendly Nothing all good car park very small
- Terry (8/5): Overall, excellent. I was nit picking!!! - Location, staff, very well run. Excellent restaurant. For a dog friendly hotel, there were no poo bins evident, car park was tight.
- Tully (10/5): - Well run hotel with very friendly staff. There is nothing to dislike.
- Anne (8/5): -
- Jean (10/5): Excellent stay - Location was excellent on the edge of Keswick. And close to the parts of the Lake District we wanted to visit (Buttermere and Catbells). Decor was lovely and the hotel welcoming. Staff were friendly and helpful

- Pui Yee (10/5): - Everything! The staff were at the reception and the restaurant were all very welcoming.
The room was spacious for 3 of us , warm on arrival and had everything we needed. The bed was super comfortable and shower was perfect after a day exploring the lakes. Close proximity to Keswick. Nothing :)
- Graham (8/5): Very nice hotel. - The staff were very friendly and accommodating. My wife has several food allergies, which the staff managed to work around and had a nice evening meal. Breakfast was very nice with fantastic views to enjoy. The location is great for getting to places like derwentwater. Although there were several dogs in the hotel, being a dog friendly place, it was kept extremely clean and tidy. A credit to the staff. The room was a little on the small side and very warm, which made sleeping difficult. The smoke sensor in the also flashed regularly which kept me awake as I am a very light sleeper, but probably wouldn't bother most people. The bar sold peanuts which was very concerning travelling with a nut allergy sufferer.

Gorgeous breakfast. Beautiful views. The only negative was the young man on reception when we arrived. Not very pleasant or helpful.
We're in our Sixties and my husband is waiting for a hip replacement. The young man did not offer to carry our case up two flights of stairs!

- Deborah (10/5): - The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was so comfortable. The whole experience was excellent from arrival Nothing
- Reynolds (10/5): Extreme comfort, lovely decor & very pleasant staff - The breakfast was fine, fruit not available on second day. Maybe more choices of muesli etc . Everything was good
- Michael (10/5): Beautiful place to stay in. -
- Karen (10/5): Friendly, comfortable, great location - Great breakfast, good staff and a very welcoming place to stay No complaints at all
- Ferguson (9/5): Two night stay - Beautiful and clean, the staff have to be credited all lovely. Food lovely breakfast very nice. Shower a bit small but we managed. The banging of doors from other residents. They should have those soft close springs on doors, or tell residents to respect other guests.
Some of the bangs shook the room we were in.

- Mark (9/5): Fabulous stay. Room was big and comfortable and clean and the food in the restaurant was exceptional - The location is excellent. A short bus ride or taxi into Keswick. The rooms are bright and beds very comfortable. The restaurant is exceptional. Our room was at the front and as it was warm we had the windows open but the road outside gets a bit noisy in the mornings.

- Pete (9/5): Excellent hotel with good quality food. - Excellent location, parking, good food, pleasant staff, good value, immaculately clean. Single attic rooms are very small
- Nicola (6/5): - The Staff were very welcoming and professional
The restaurant and seating area was comfortable and welcoming The bedroom was for a single person. It situated off a landing and was extremely small with no closet to hang clothes. It was very hot and I could hear people in the corridors and in the rooms next door.
The room is far too small for a person.

Breakfast was good No compaints
- Bill (9/5): -
- John (8/5): Hotel sent on left-behind item very efficiently. - All staff except one very courteous.
Breakfasts very good. Cleanliness also very good. Despite following hotel's advice and pre-booking evening meals we were told very imperiously that we hadn't made a booking for one of the nights after all. We checked this on leaving and it was confirmed that indeed we had booked and the staff member had made a mistake. We were put in the bar area and this being Cumbria we shared the space with no fewer than 7 large dogs-a situation we had taken care to avoid. Spoilt our last evening.
