Guest Reviews
- Paul (7/5): Clean, basic accommodations with lots of room in the middle of a great area - Access to all the sites we waned to visit . The room downstairs was nice to socialize in. Everything was clean I cut my shins 3 times in the middle of the night on the sharp metal corners of the bed frame
The bathroom /sink was a weird setup but worked fine. The access to the kitchen was accessed down hallway . Difficult to back out of the driveway
- Sheraj (10/5): Excellent stay - Best location, close to train station. Excellent view. No microwave.
- Richard (8/5): Great base to explore the Jungfrau region - Ideally located a short walk from the Terminal complex with shops including a small Coop, train station and gondola stations. You can easily get anywhere in the Jungfrau from here. Some maintenance issues and a lack of any smoke alarms.
- Miho (10/5): I’m already missing it. - The accommodation was very clean and spacious, more than enough for our family of four.
It was only a few minutes’ walk from Grindelwald Terminal Station, so even with large suitcases, access was no problem at all.
Our host, Gert, was very responsive and kind—he answered our inquiries promptly, which made our stay worry-free.
From the terrace, we could enjoy a breathtaking view of the Eiger, so we were able to admire the scenery even after returning to the accommodation.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Grindelwald. Nothing!

- Suzie (10/5): Location is fabulous! - Absolutely stunning views of the Eiger! Lots of space and a modern kitchen area.

- DANIEL (10/5): Espectacular - Espacio, equipamiento, situación, … A doble altura, escaleras.
- Neha (9/5): - Incredible location with an amazing view of Jungfrau on clear days but also a central location with a 4 minute walk to go upto Jungfrau. Definitely worth the money
- Claire (8/5): Great view, clean property, would probably book again - The location was great
The kitchen was well equipped The description of the property should make it clear it is semi-detached as the photos imply you get the whole property.
Its a property for 6. We were only a 4 and we ran out of hot water twice and there's no way to top it up until it heats up again overnight.
- Sheila (8/5): Loved the distance to town and the great views from the deck.which is the main reason Ichose this home wants to see mou - Location to town and lovely views Big deck with wonderful views parking was a plus. appreciated dish washer and washing machine. Liked books and puzzles available Would like a microwave. Would have helped a lot. Add some deck furniture. Two collapsible loungers ok but some nice outdoor chairs would have been nice. Loungers collapsed on us multiple times. And hard if you are older to get up and down. Stair rail even if a rope to help with stairs.
- Nikhil (9/5): Superb -
- Chin (10/5): Excellent stay with 6 person - 2 bath rooms with heater, 3 beds room , cozy living room with heater , kitchen with utensil provided ( kettle , oven , induction cooker , coffee maker , toast maker, dish washer, washing machine and etc ) beautiful scenery, compound. Peaceful environment around the area. Walkable to grindelwald terminal. Kind and helpful host
- Glover (9/5): Superb -
- Sam (10/5): Gorgeous, unobstructed views of Eiger; clean, comfortable, ample space; near cable lifts. - This was a three bedroom, two bathroom attached house. The location was excellent: an unobstructed view from the back windows and porch onto Eiger and the rest of the massif; the cable lifts to Eiger and Mannlichen are a short walk away, and one can start hiking straight out of the front door. The house is relatively low on the mountainside, but that was excellent for us as hikers. The place is quiet because the bedrooms and the kitchen/living area are on the lower floor and face the lovely back terrace and backyard, only the bathrooms face the street. The address is easy to find. Everything was clean and relatively well-equipped. When we needed something, the owner sent over someone to supply it. Communication with the owner was excellent. We had a wonderful time and would definitely go there again. There were a couple of problems. I would recommend to the owner that he install a bannister for the staircase that goes down to the kitchen and livingroom from the upstairs bedrooms. It is treacherous without a bannister. More importantly: the beds are AWFUL. It would not take much money to buy a new mattress. There was no salt and sugar in the house, so these had to be bought in the usual very large quantities which one does not need for a week's stay. Finally, I strongly recommend the installation of a microwave oven, however small. It would make preparing meals a lot easier. Otherwise, this is an excellent house, we had a wonderful time.

- Katie (9/5): Wonderful cycling holiday! - Super cosy chalet in a perfect location outside of town for a biking/hiking holiday. We grocery shopped at the Coop & rented mountain mikes from InterSport RENT at the terminal station (very convenient - 10 minute walk). We had no plans to spend time in town, but could have walked, ridden bikes, or taken the bus if we were so inclined (only about 1/2-1 mile away). Even though it was on a main road and very close to the train, it was quiet! The kitchen was fully stocked and the linens were high quality. We were two adults and had plenty of space. It might be a bit tight for a larger groups of adults (especially if lots of time is spent inside). It was extremely hot during our visit but the house stayed cool (owner provided multiple fans, but we didn’t need them). The owner was extremely prompt & helpful in responses. There is nothing we didn’t ’like’ about the property. As we spent nearly all of our time outside on the lower deck, most of our recommendations for improvements center on that area. There is a fixed picnic table with a retractable awning on the deck which is great for sun/rain protection, but it is in a location behind trees/shrubs which block most of the view. Most of the shrubbery is quite mature/overgrown so in order to fully enjoy the view, you need to be on the side of the deck without the awning or table. It would be nice to have additional patio furniture for both the lower & upper decks (lawn chairs were available, but comfortable outdoor chairs would be better).
We stayed 10 nights and were provided 2 trash bags (bags are taxed, so it makes sense they are limited). It would be nice to have recycling at the house as an option.
