- John (8/5): We were all very happy with our choice to stay at Malawi House and would stay there again. - We loved the location! We could enjoy early morning walks in the beautiful Botanical gardens. The house is in a quiet street but close to several restaurants and a small supermarket so that we didn't have to drive into Cairns for dinner after a busy day exploring the area. It was an easy walk to get breakfast supplies and/or our evening meal. The location is also close to the airport which was appreciated for those of us who had an early morning flight on departure. The kitchen was well equipped and big enough for several people to be working around the island bench. The 6 of us liked to sit around the big table out on the verandah for our meals, enjoying the leafy surrounds. Inside, each of our rooms had air conditioners and fans. We enjoyed the convenience of having 3 bathrooms for the 6 of us and they were all very nice. I appreciated all the coat hangers in my room which enabled me to hang up all my clothes and the bed lamp to read at night. No one liked the pillows, which were big and very hard. Some of us preferred to go without a pillow and my best option was to put a pillow-case on one of the smaller chair cushions in my room. Some of the chairs and lounges, and also the downstairs bed, were not good for those of us with bad backs. The beds upstairs were all fine.
