- Melanie (10/5): Great place for an active family weekend stay - Location was amazing, beautiful surroundings
Great facilities, water sports were reasonably priced
Quiet and remote
Lodges were well equipped
Staff were friendly and helpful Second bedroom is bunk beds so may not be suitable for all, however they were bigger than they looked and quite long.
Could have done with something to hang wet clothes on like a maiden
- Ticks (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sean (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patricia (9/5): Superb - The cabin is in a beautiful setting, almost cinematic! Also very cosy and in all a different experience, made better by my boyfriend proposing on the dock, with the lovely and very friendly ducks as our witnesses, plus my son who captured some photos of the special moment! There was a bit of dust in the main bedroom, which triggered my seasonal allergies.
The lounge was a bit chilly, seemed the heating wasn't working there, or it was off.
There was some confusion regarding check-in times, initially being told that it was at 4, with me even writing to confirm this, so my family and I worked our schedule around this. Then to get a phone call at around noon time to be told our cabin was ready, which was ok, but we felt rushed as I was told there wouldn't be anyone at reception...maybe a little more organisation and clarification from the start would have been better.
- Chris (8/5): Beautiful setting - Beautiful setting, friendly staff, lots of activities, a cool little cabin Main bed & bedroom were too small. We didn't fit on the main bed. No laundry facilities
- Emmy (10/5): Exceptional - The location of the lodge.the supply of a tray.the width of bunk beds.overall layout and quality / character of the furniture and decoations.washing up supplies provided.a television in each bedroom.coat hooks in lounge.we chose the site so we could stay near friends as we live on south coast. …It was great to be allowed visitors during our stay. We could not use the bar stools and ate outside all the time using garden table and chairs.there is plenty of room in the very large lounge to put a small table and 4 chairs.my sister found the step difficult .we bought a small ramp with us but it would be a good idea to stock a ramp and a raised toilet seat because the property is excellent for the less able.
There were no Pyrex dishes or similar for use in the oven to make a casserole etc and no deep roasting trays just the shallow ones say for heating thu a pizza etc.
Basic instructions for use of oven and the heating .when you arrive after a long journey you are too tired to take in even the basic instructions.
A fly paper is a necessity.a bread knife would have been useful.
