The beds were comftable and cosy making sure we all slept well. Internet connection was excellent which helps with all the families devices been used. Netflix, amazon prime there to use which allows cosy family films after a day of adventuring.
Location was a short drive from Windermere, walking distance to complete different hikes.
On site pub, park and fabulous large enclosed dog field.
- Deborah (10/5): Lovely lodge in a great location - Lovely lodge with excellent facilities & spotlessly clean. Good location for exploring the area. Oven gloves would be helpful.

- Ellithorn (9/5): Very happy - The property was excellent, the park was very nice I don't expect to be asked to strip beds etc , this is not an air bnb

The location is simply stunning and I was so lucky with amazing weather. The space is just perfect for a nice break away. The communication from the hosts was superb, from clear and easy to follow instructions and then follow up with hints on where to eat when staying there.

- Ruth (10/5): A cosy weekend in the lakes - The lodge is beautiful with top-quality fixtures and fittings. Spotlessly clean. The hosts were extremely helpful and instantly available to answer a query. Nothing
- Dobbing (9/5): Home from home in a beautiful location! - Beautiful place, great views from the lodge as it is on the higher levels. Lowena lodge has everything you need, home from home. Lovely modern decor and colour schemes. Modern kitchen and appliances. Love the little dishwasher with tablets supplied. We loved our stay this year as much as last year, however we noticed there was some wear and tear in the lodge which needs attention, e.g. front door was difficult to unlock and lock, shower seals in both bathrooms need renewing which caused lots of mopping up after washing.
- Peter (9/5): Comfortable - Had everything we wanted ideal rustic setting Nothing
- Lee (9/5): Lovely lodge in a great location - Lovely lodge in a great location. The lodge was immaculately clean and well fitted out. The only negative is the very small en-suite in the double bedroom. It was too small to be comfortable using the basin and toilet.
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional - It’s a modern, nicely furnished & spacious lodge that comfortably fit 4 adults and a dog. The location is lovely with plenty beautiful walks and great pubs from the campsite.
- Alexander (10/5): Lovely & modern property in ideal location - -Furnishings incredibly modern
-Beds very comfy
-AMAZING kitchen and living area - didn’t want to leave it!
-Spotless upon arrival
-Pictures accurately reflect the property
-Nice location - very quiet but also just a 10m drive from Windermere/15m from Ambleside
-Try pub lunch at Mortal Man - best pub food I’ve had in a while
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - The location of the lodge was lovely. Having 2 bathrooms was great as we all had privacy (like how the twin bedroom had a door into the second bathroom creating a second ensuite). The beds were really comfortable and we all slept well. The view from the twin room was so nice. There was plenty of space in the lodge and the nest heating was welcoming when we got back from our walks. Amazing views from the lodge.
- Hayley (10/5): We hope to be back - Beautiful, clean, everything you could want, really a home from home Nothing
- Hayley (10/5): Luxury lodge in a great location. - The Lodge is in a great spot with beautiful views of the valley. It was spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable. It's well equipped and has everything you need.
- Jo (10/5): Perfect place for a family with dogs, we could easily have stayed longer! - The lodge was exactly as it appeared on line, obviously we'll looked after and very clean throughout. Hosts were great and really responsive to any queries we had before our stay, giving advise on local walks etc.
Everything that we needed was there, even little touches like enough dishwasher tablets for the time we were staying, some washing capsules, washing up liquid and dish clothes also. Catered for our pups too, with a drinking bowl (which we forgot) and a comfy fleece blanket.
The nest heating was a god send, the weather wasn't great and having that instant heat there was great.
Great location, only 10 minutes from Bowness, and a short walk to some lovely pubs, with lovely food. The pub on site was also very worth a visit. Everything was great!
- Alan (10/5): Very enjoyable - Setees are low down makeing it hard to get up for older people every thing else spot on
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional - Lodge was absolutely gorgeous. Very clean and amazing location. Will be definitely returning next year
- Eric (9/5): A nice and welcoming lodge is a great location. Good value for money. Would definitely stay again - Comfortable and clean. Everything there that you need. We arrived later than check in but security at the site let us in, easy to find the property with the details provided. Perfect locating for exploring the Lake District. Quite location but close enough to shops etc that they’re a five minute drive away. Lodge is very nice and comfy, homely and welcoming. Us and our dog felt right at home! Nothing.
- Nick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dobbing (9/5): Superb - Everything!
Felt like home from home.
Lovely kitchen with everything that we needed (maybe just needs an oven glove).
Views from the lodge were beautiful.
Dog friendly and still lovely and clean.
100% recomnend.
We are already booked up for 2024! Nothing.
- Madeleine (10/5): Perfect stay - Perfect, everything we needed, no issues at all Nothing

- Natalie (10/5): Little home away from home - Great location for exploring the lakes and very spacious, communication was great too.
- Claire (10/5): Great lodge - The lodge was like a perfect "home". Sunken bath with TV in bathroom was a lovely touch.
As we have only a walk in shower at home we all took advantage of having a relaxing bath!! Nothing!
- Anthony (10/5): Home from home stay in a perfect location - This was our first visit to a lodge and I have to say we found Lowena Lodge amazing.
Everything was pristine clean and looking brand new.
All you ever need and more for a self catering holiday is provided and top quality.
Very tastefully decorated and comfortable beds.
Excellent location for visiting some stunning places in the Lake District.
We can recommend The Queen’s Head hotel for dinner, which is less than a 5 minute drive from the lodge. We didn’t try the Hay Barn Inn on site.
Thank you for an amazing stay and we would recommend it to anyone wanting this type of accommodation. PERFECT. DEFINITELY 5 stars. There is nothing not to like!
- Robyn (9/5): We really enjoyed our stay at Lowena lodge. - Great location, lovely warm heater. Everything we needed in the kitchen. Was also nice to be able to catch up on the washing.
- Uravara (4/5): Disappointing. Poor maintenance & attitude. - Clean (other than hair in shower), comfortable (other than cold), modern, quiet
Hosts sense of humour? He advertises that this is 3,014 square feet. A joke? That's ridiculous. For the record it's a standard size chalet, but such gross exaggeration prepares you for everything you find later. Take it with a pinch of salt, don't expect too much and be prepared for things not to be as great as you hope - then you might get a pleasant surprise. I wasn't. NO heating of any kind. Ignore what host info says! The Nest heating controller needs a code which you are not given. After a hot day the temperature dropped to single digits at night. Then we all woke up freezing cold before 5am. The host has fixed the heating so you cannot turn it on. There is no way to turn on the radiators! We hoped the sun would take the chill out the air but this chalet was still in shadow of the hill and trees behind the chalet at 10am.
Freezer door seal is falling off.
Dishwasher had "out of order" sign. Host really does not want you using it. Other reviewers mention this. I guess it costs him money when it's used.
Hair in the shower. What else isn't cleaned well?
Wifi wouldn't connect. The written instructions are detailed but they describe a different system. I guess they may be out of date. We used our mobile data instead.
Parking - Parking is on the verge in front of chalet with room for 1 car (not 2 as host says). A problem is that the guys opposite must reverse out of their 2 spaces and their cars need the full width of the road to turn. A porsche only just missed hitting my car. The road is narrow and his car had little opportunity to turn because it was tightly squeezed between a chalet and another car.
I sent emails and text messages to host but NEVER got an answer. It's like talking to a brick wall. Host sent a load of standard emails which land in your in box but don't expect him to respond to questions. These are std emails which everyone gets. I sent texts and emails both before we arrived and whilst in the chalet. No response. Zip. Nadda.
- Kellie (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect, lodge was amazing and the site was very peaceful

- Vivek (10/5): Modern city like interiors in the middle of mountains ! - Brilliant new property with all the modern amenities in the heart of Lake District ! Family loved it . Very close from Windermere town centre. Clean and spacious. Definitely recommend others to stay here ! nothing really

- Emma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Faisal (10/5): My Experience at Lowena Lodge (Lake District) - Everything right from the beginning untill the end was excellent for me with Lowena Lodge. Booking was easy and I got the room that was described and shown. Every question I had no matter how small was answered by Keith and the instructions for gaining access were super clear. The stay was plesent, hassle free and gave me and my wife everything we had been looking for. The environment, location and views were exactly what we were looking for, the staff were friendly and everything was made so easy for us. I particularly love the lodge we stayed in, it was suited brilliantly to me and my wife's taste and like I said before, booking the lodge as well as access to the lodge and questions I had about the lodge was all made into a super plesent experience. On our last morning me and my wife didn't want to leave our lodge and we hope to visit it again soon. My stay at Lowena Lodge was brilliant. If I had to say something bad about my stay I would say that on our last night the boiler stopped working leaving no hot water but I called the establishment ranger for support and within the hour the boiler was fixed. The only other thing I would say is that we lost wifi connection for about 2 hours on one evening but it wasn't a problem and was back up and running again.
- Craig (10/5): Loved it - Dog friendly, nice setting
