Guest Reviews
- Dezso (10/5): - Very clean and well equipped with a charming atmosphere.
- Jann (10/5): Excellent apartment. Great value for money. - Excellent apartment, right in the heart of Lanchester. Very clean, bright, spacious and comfortable. Will definitely book again.
- Janet (10/5): Great short stay. - This is a wonderfully light and spacious first floor apartment with views down Lanchester High Street. It’s quiet, clean and comfortable. Great for friends or family with 2 double beds in one large room and the other a double en-suite.
Living/kitchen area stylish and plenty of seating.
Highly recommended. Nothing.
- Karen (7/5): Comfortable modern spacious good facilities and good location. Beds comfy. - The toilet was blocked but owner responded quickly and sorted. The bathroom bin needed emptying.
- Jonathan (8/5): -
- Mary (9/5): Beautiful and very clean! - Absolutely gorgeous and so clean! Really luxurious for three friends sharing. Lovely location. Beautifully decorated. The address given was not quite right. The flat is called Lilydale Retreat and that's the plaque on the door. There is no house number (that is what we were given) so that made it very tricky to find.
- phil (9/5): Very comfy and very nice - Clean

Nice shower Only thing was could have had another toilet roll
- John (10/5): Superb stay in a great location - Immaculate, clean and spacious. Very cosy and perfect for our guests Nothing really
- Lynn (10/5): Was good would return ! - Nice quality good beds Stairs very steep
- Vivien (10/5): Highly recommended - The apartment was excellent and contained everything we needed. The owners were very helpful and friendly. A pint of milk in the fridge would have been nice!
- Stella (9/5): Weekend away - Very clean comfortable well located. Stairs a bit steep no dishcloths used kitchen towels to wipe down surfaces.
- Clare (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thornton-carr (10/5): A fantastic holiday experience in a perfect property. The breakfast in the ice cream shop was fab. - Location was perfect, views were spectacular, hosts were very accommodating, the apartment was fabulous and spotless. Beds were so comfortable. Couldn't fault anything and looking forward to our next stay.
- Deb (9/5): Highly recommend this lovely flat - It made for a great family get together over the Festive period! - Flat spacious and well appointed. Excellent location for the village and walks/ runs. Despite there being three double beds ( ideal for our two couples and one child) there were only towels for 4 - We live nearby so had to sub them!!
- Emma (10/5): Great apartment and would happily stay again. - Location and parking was great, bed’s comfy, modern interior. Wasn’t 100% sure we were at the correct property, not clearly labelled no 1, it was called Lily…something retreat, thankfully the key code box was confirmation we were at the correct property. Also no hand soap in the bathroom, don’t need much maybe just a small bar of soap.
- David (9/5): Perfect stay close to Durham - Very nicely- and recently- decorated apartment, perfectly clean, easy access, with clear and timely communications from host.
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oxtoby (9/5): Brilliant stay - Brilliant location. Large rooms and lovely and clean. Everything was perfect
- Nicholas (10/5): Exceptional property in wonderful location with every modcon, comfort and style you could hope for. - Everything. The decor, the size and style were all outstanding. Nothing.
- Louise (9/5): Great! - Whole property beautifully presented. Very clean and spacious. Good value for money Personal taste but do not like feather bedding
- Hiorns (9/5): Superb - Clean, well equipped, comfy beds, spacious, great bathroom, TVs in every room! Responsive host to every need. Although toiletries provided, we were short on towels and toilet paper, but this was a minor oversight, and remedied quickly.
Finding the apartment was tricky, as it should be labelled or described with the name outside.
- Lisa (9/5): Comfortable luxury for a weekend getaway - The facilities and space were excellent - lots of room, lovely decor and included lots of thoughtful extras (fresh ground coffee etc)
- Margaret (8/5): Our Lanchester friends all thought it would be an excellent place to house visiting relatives - Location was perfect The duvet covers on the beds were not made of bedsheet material. I borrowed a flannel top sheet from my sister in the village in order to get a good nights sleep. However, my son didn’t mind his duvet.
- Jonathan (10/5): Couldn’t have been better! - This property is a hidden gem. Stunning location! The apartment has been so well thought out and couldn’t have been more perfect for us. It was super clean! Absolute pleasure to stay and the owner couldn’t have been better with communication!
- Helga (9/5): Clean, convenient location, will return. - Great location, easy parking, comfy beds, good shower, plenty room to hang clothes, next to the pub. The flat is exceptionally clean. Will return. Added bonus, great coffee and welcome bottle of wine in the fridge! To improve, a small thing - be great to have a bath mat to stand on, instead I used one of the lovely fluffy towels, which was a shame.
- Anita (10/5): Exceptional - The appartment was beautiful. Really spacious and light. The beds were amazingly comfortable and the rooms were nicely decorated. Loads of tea, coffee and sugar provided and a well stocked kitchen. ( we did have to hunt out the secret cutlery drawer, although that could have been us being daft!)
There was every take away you could wish for in the villiage, plus an Italian restaurant.
If we found ourselves visisting that area again, we would definitely stay there again.
Although not a real criticism, it would have been great to know that you need to call the owners on arrival for a key code...
Nonetheless 10/10 from us!!!!
- Sarah (10/5): Hidden gem - we will be back! - Beautiful, stunningly furnished, a hidden gem!
