Guest Reviews
- Alan (10/5): Tranquil retreat short break - Cleanliness quietness and tranquil atmosphere 5 mins prior to arriving driving up to the location on remote dirt track
- Chris (10/5): Cosy, warm, and great price. Will stay again. Thank you for the warm welcome - The property was very clean, cosy and the bed was comfortable. Good facilities, and friendly owner. Cannot recommend enough, and will very much stay again
- brian (7/5): -
- Mark (10/5): High quality accommodation in rural location - Excellent farm stay accommodation with easy access to Blackpool and the Lake District.
High quality accommodation, spacious with private parking.
Great local pubs with good food.
- mark (8/5): - Location and how clean the place was. Great for a peaceful break It needs a new mattress it wasn't good enough
- Williams (10/5): - Very clean. Everything was there to provide a lovely getaway
- karl (9/5): - A very pleasant and well equipped Bungalow set in a very peaceful location. It wasn't as clean as we expected and a little rough around the edges. The impression we had was that you are alone with nothing around you, however, there are other properties close by and despite everyone being very friendly including the beautiful horses, it wasn't as secluded as we'd hoped. Despite this, we still had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. As above, the place could have been cleaned to a better standard and some of the utensils had seen better days.
- Jeremiah (10/5): -
- Adrian (10/5): - I liked everything about The Bungalow, location was perfect, hosts could not be better, I slept like a log it was so peaceful at night.
Easy to find though remote i would definately recommend this place.
Thanks Gareth and Chloe Nothing
- Kaseem (10/5): - The surrounding area. Peace and quiet and it was really nice waking up to being so close to mother nature Noothing i liked everything
- Andre (9/5): Amazing views and great accommodation - Everything was exceptional. The owners are very friendly and the location was stunning. Nothing
- JulesL (10/5): Beautiful, peaceful and highly recommended - The Bungalow is spotless and has everything you need. The peace and quiet was wonderful and just what we needed. Definitely be going back and recommending to family and friends. Nothing. Only suggestion would be better pillows.
- Dean (8/5): Good for a couple of nights reasonably close to Blackpool, but you need a car. - Good facilities, parking, price.
- Stuart (8/5): Fantastic location with very good directions from Gareth and Chloe .. and superb value for money - It was very very peaceful, and was warm and well appointed There was nothing we didn’t like - but I personally would suggest decluttering the kitchen work surface area so that there is more space to prepare food on.
- Kendall (10/5): Refreshing - Location Peace and quiet
- Adam (10/5): -
- DAVID (10/5): The perfect cosy, comfortable and peaceful bungalow in the perfect location. - Absolutely beautiful property and I was shocked at the value for money. 1 of the best nights sleep I have had in a long time with how quiet the location is. The grounds are stunning and I met the owner Gareth bumping into him in the morning who was an absolute delight and very polite and helpful, wanting to make sure I had everything needed. If your looking for somewhere relaxing and quiet I highly recommend and Blackpool and Preston are a very short drive away. I would also like to mention, over the 30+ properties I have staying in with family and friends I have never booked a property so clean. Not once did I find a stain, dirt or even a spec of dust which is extremely rare. The property has also been updated since the photo's with a much more comfy and cosy sofa and an upgraded smart TV which has internet connected that is provided by the host. On final note I would like to say a special thank you to Gareth and Chloe and I will certainly be booking this property again in the near future.
- Samra (10/5): - Location was perfect, every facility was there already
- Andrea (10/5): -
- Shannon (10/5): Such a quiet amazing place, perfect for the weekend getaway we needed - Beautiful property located in a remote area, all amenities you could need. Super peaceful location.
- Coral (10/5): Cracking place, lovely peaceful place to stay - Fabulous peacefully quiet location in the countryside, very comfy bed, fire TV viewable from the bedroom. Parking adjacent. Well equipped bungalow.
Friendly host. Good information pack telling you all you need to know. With the bed being so comfy and worthy of a sleep in, I'd have preferred a blackout blind/curtains in the bedroom for the light mornings, but that is all I'd change and certainly not a major negative. I'd definitely stay again
- Vicki (10/5): -
- Edwin (10/5): Short break in relaxing location - No breakfast provided (just as expected)
Wonderfully remote and quiet location, but easily accessible by car, and not too far from shops Can't think of anything!
- Nathan (10/5): Brilliant from start to finish - Spacious, secluded and everything you could possibly need Everything
- GORDON (10/5): -
- Gul (10/5): Wonderful place to stay in with the amazing hosts - Staying there makes you feel at home away from home. Hosts provided - The property was quite cozy and comfortable.it was quite clean and calm area and the location was very beautiful.we loved the property and location There was nothing as such to dislike about the property.
- Vallard (7/5): Nice place for the price - Nice little place at a great price . Can think of anything to dislike
- Andy (10/5): Exceptional - Place was lovely and quiet and everything you need for a short stay Nothing all was good
- Christopher (10/5): The bungalow, Dry bread lane. - I liked everything about the bungalow. The location is absolutely beautiful, with a fantastic view in all directions. It's also very calm and peaceful, exactly what I was looking for. The bungalow itself was immaculate, and you had everything you needed. The bed is very comfortable too! The hosts were absolutely brilliant too. It's a little difficult to find due to it's rural location, however the hosts instructions on how to find it were spot on. Nothing at all, I had a fantastic 2 nights staying at the bungalow.
- Burlington (9/5): Superb - Gareth so helpful N/A
- Andrea (10/5): Fantastic mini break away - utterly brilliant - Everything about our stay here was brilliant, the location was stunning, the bungalow is well build and modern, furnished well and the views are amazing.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (9/5): A lovely hideaway - Location and quietness was lovely and the wildlife day and night. Needed clean clothes and teatowels.
- Svajunas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sharon (10/5): Superb location, spotlessly clean bungalow and a fantastic stay. - There was nothing no to like! The view across the fields to the mountains in the distance was amazing, looking out of the bedroom to see pheasant and partridge walking around the field is worth 10/10 on it own.
Gareth met us to let us know the keys were already in the bungalow so we didn't need to worry about the key safe or anything.
Usually I don't put down "faults" unless they do detract from the stay, but wanted to mention this one purely for the brilliant response we received. Unfortunately on the second morning we had no hot water, we spoke to Gareth and the problem was fixed within 10 minutes, there was no hanging around or having to wait-in for someone to come and have a look, thank you Gareth; so many times we have read reviews where the guest has had to wait or has been "fobbed off" with some excuse or other, but not in this case!
We can't wait to return for a third stay- and a fourth, fifth and sixth hopefully.
If you want a break from the stresses and strains of everyday life, where you can choose to sit and watch the birds soaring overhead, the only noise you hear are the birds and have some lovely walks, I would say don't come here as it means we might not be able to book it again, but the whole stay from booking through to leaving was brilliant, so easy to book and an absolutely perfect stay, we really can't wait to come back, and cannot recommend The Bungalow enough. Absolutely nothing- except being able to stay longer!
- Amanda (9/5): Peaceful 2 night stay. - Lovely place to stay away from it all! Views are amazing, place is very comfortable with all the amenities you could want. Nothing -it is remote though which suited us!
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tatiana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - The place was lovely and had every thing needed and was sitting outside.
The own Gareth and Chloe are lovely. Nothing was trouble. They was nothing wrong at all.
- Margaret (10/5): would highly recommend,, thanks again to the staff - The bungalow was absolutely lovely and clean,, Gareth went out of his way to help us when our uber went awol,, Was quite and peaceful ☺️
- Erslan (10/5): Amazing - Cosy, comfy and warm !! Not much I can say about things I didn’t like
- Autumn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fabio (10/5): Exceptional - Very quiet area, the place is not too big, but more than enough for a couple. All that you need for a weekend is available in the house. Can't fault anything.
- Joseph (7/5): Good -
- Neil (10/5): Short stay - Everything was great. Was nice to have private space but be close enough to owners to ask questions. The location is great as you are only a short drive from local attractions, but it feels like you are miles away from everything to unwind. Having to go back home
- Tony (10/5): Exceptional - It was in an ideal location for our needs.
The views were stunning. Parking our vehicle directly next to the property.
And most of all, the hosts. Couldn't do enough for you and really made you feel welcome. Having to leave and go home!!!!
- Alan (8/5): We enjoyed our short stay the Bungalow had everything we needed - A very peaceful location. We found the bed particularly hard .
- Smith (10/5): very good stay again -
- Barbara (8/5): Lovely remote place to stay but still only 10 minute drive from nearest village - The owners made a lot of contact which was very welcome. They were very responsive to any questions. Chairs were comfortable but a little low. Not a major concern at all by any means.
- John (10/5): Excellent - Liked the location great when you want a visit to the country side and enjoy green fields and quiet. The residence is modern and provides all the comforts of home. Bathroom modern and bed is comfortable. A small table with a couple of chairs instead of a very large second chair would be a great addition. I think one would fit in one of the corners without much of a problem, Only an idea that would improve eating times.
- Barry (10/5): Perfect spot for rural retreat. - Perfect, quiet rural location. Quality of fixtures and fittings. Great hosts with Gareth and Zoe. Fresh eggs on arrival provided by the hens. Bit tricky to navigate lanes to The Bungalow, but Gareth's helpful directions were well received.
- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional - Peaceful relaxing environment.
Gareth was very welcoming and helped with directions when we were lost. Hard to find even with Google maps.
- Jenni (10/5): Lovely weekend away in a beautiful bungalow - It’s a really lovely property the outside space was lovely and it’s really home from home. The blind in the bedroom could be thicker as the sun really comes through in the morning.
- David (10/5): It’s faultless. Value for money unreal. Hosts excellent. So relaxing and private. We couldn’t believe how big it was for - Everything ! We will 100% be staying again soon Nothing
- Isaac (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely area. Great hosts.
- Peter (10/5): We had a perfect weekend and hope to stay again in the future. - Great location - very peaceful and perfect setup for 2 for a break. Close to the sea - which was the main driver for us staying in the area. Chloe and Gareth were great hosts - keeping us informed on the run up to the stay and just letting us treat the bungalow as our own while we were there. No negatives - it exceeded everything we hoped for.
- Annaliesa (8/5): Very good - Lovely little bungalow, really quite location, so warm and cozy with the heating on, all the things needed for making meals in the kitchen, was a little home from home set up The dirt road on lead up to property was very uneven, but having read the reviews that was expected, the DvD didnt work, and a lot of the sky channel's wasnt accessible, but only stayed for 2 nights, so it wasnt really a problem
- Gemma (10/5): Everything was perfect for our stay. Thank you for having us. - The property was just what we needed for a little stay away from home. The bungalow was warm and cosy and well equipped with everything we needed.
- Lorenzo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adrian (10/5): Little gem of a cottage. - Everything!!! The Bungalow was really clean and comfortable and we cannot fault the location. More birds than we could count, 360 degree view of fields and mountains, and to say it was quiet and peaceful is an understatement, the only noise we heard were the ducks in the field behind us. Really comfortable bed, and lovely shower too.
Gareth and Chloe really lovely, Gareth even stood in torrential rain when we arrived to make sure we were okay and had everything. Fresh eggs from their own hens made for a really lovely breakfast, thank you 😊.
We are already looking at possible dates for next year- hopefully when it is drier! Coming home!
- Jasmine (9/5): Superb - Wonderfully rural - your own transport is essential - cosy, comfortable bungalow. Thoughtful hosts. Excellent value for money. I am so glad that I found this hidden treasure!
- Gordon (10/5): Best place ive stayed when working away!! - Great location, great hosts and everything i need for an overnight away for work
- Anonymous (9/5): Brilliant bungalow, lovely hosts, perfect location - Lovely bungalow, lots of room for 3 adults over a 2 night stay. Beautiful location and the hosts gave brilliant directions. A perfect base to then explore the area.
- Pete (10/5): Was excellent- highly recommended - Quite. No noise at all from passing traffic or other people. Warm and cosy. Didn’t release about the TV - had to bring your own stick.
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely setting with good country walks nearby. 15 minutes from Blackpool when we wanted something more exciting. Bungalow had everything we needed great value at price we paid.
- Sara (7/5): It was a nice place to stay, just as shown it isn’t like that - The idea of their being houses nearby, like right opposite. The curtains and blinds didn’t close on some of the windows
- Gordon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kenn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wendy (10/5): Two days just wasn't long enough - We were self-catering. We had been calling it 'The Garage' since we booked it, but it was nothing like a garage, It was much larger than we anticipated, it had a lounge with well stocked kitchen area, comfortable settees and chairs, large bedroom with ensuite bathroom and all mod cons you could possibly think of (and more that you wouldn't think of). It took a bit of finding, being out in the wilds, but was a perfect location for exploring that corner of Lancashire. Gareth couldn't have been more helpful, supplying us with eggs from his own hens and even giving us fresh eggs to take home, as well as the biggest onions I have ever seen, garlic, cucumbers and courgettes. We had a wonderful stay, wish it could have been longer but we will be back soon. Thank you Gareth, Loved everything. Perhaps the hob could have been more fool proof!
- Sarah (10/5): We had a lovely stay at this property the owners was lovely and there if we needed them, the bungalow was well equipped. - Quiet location, the property was lovely and cosy would book again.
- Andy (10/5): Exceptional - Size and location. Nothing to note.
- David (9/5): Superb - The bungalow met all our expectations and Gareth the host was very obliging.
- F (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (9/5): A great property in a peaceful location. Perfect for our needs. - The setting for the property was ideal for us. Complete peace and quiet. It was also convenient for visiting family in the area. Furniture could have been more comfortable. It wasn't very pleasant sitting out the back due to the smell of central heating oil.
- Raja (9/5): Superb -
- Graham (9/5): Superb -
- Martyn (10/5): Absolutely Fantastic!!!! - The Bungalow was absolutely perfect, we arrived late and was greeted by the owner who was very friendly and seemed as nothing was too much trouble. The Bungalow itself was very clean and tidy with everything you would need for self catering accommodation. The 2 nights we spent there was lovely and quiet, would definitely stay here again. Look forward to seeing you again in the future.
- Emily (8/5): Very good - Thank you for the eggs!
- Phil (10/5): Great two days. - We like the location, Gareth and Chloe were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The Bungalow is modern and fully equipped a great place to sit back and relax in.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to go back as soon as we can.
Phil & Liz M. There isn't anything we didn't like, can't fault it at all.
