- Dawn (10/5): -
- Richard (10/5): Amazing - The cottage was beautiful in a beautiful location it was comfortable and exceptionally clean and well looked after with everything you could need for an amazing stay. Nothing
- Liz (10/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rose cottage and would love to return one day. Highly recommend. - Lovely cottage equipped with everything we needed, it was immaculately clean too.
Beautiful quiet location with fantastic views and walks from the property. Only minor niggle would be the master bed is very hard, but that is personal preference.
- Kelly (10/5): Fantastic. Will return. - Even better than the photos.
Super clean and beautifully decorated.
Had absolutely everything you could need.
Loved the bird feeder being full and watching who came to visit. Only personal preference but main bedroom mattress was slightly too hard for me.
Absolutely nothing else apart from that.

- Katie (10/5): Perfect for a weekend to walk, relax and unwind - Stunning cottage, thought of all the little things to make the stay perfect. The road leading to the cottage was narrow for my car ( Kia sportage) but this didn’t affect our stay. We just parked on the main road.
- Rachael (10/5): Fabulous - Location, cleanliness, attention to detail.
- Isabella (10/5): Quiet, cute, clean cottage. Perfect getaway. - We just had the best time at Rose Cottage. The place was just beautiful. So cute, clean with everything you need. The bubbly was very welcome for our anniversary. It was so good to look out at the blue tits in the front garden and sit out on the bench by the rooftops in the back yard. It was so quiet. We had the best sleep. The hosts were very responsive and friendly. We forgot to write in the visitors book. We will have to do it next time. Leaving the cottage!
- Marta (9/5): - Posizione un po’ fuori dal centro ma in mezzo al verde e alla tranquillità. Quiete e relax!
- Rich (9/5): - The position of this property was great. Close enough to Matlock and the white Lion pub that you can ditch the car and walk. Also the views are excellent. The property was very clean and nice touches with the Christmas Devs. Nothing
- Hollie (10/5): Perfect Christmas getaway - Cottage was clean and comfortable with everything you need, beautiful views and walking routes nearby. Added bonuses were the welcome goodies and Christmas decorations. Nothing!
- Greg (10/5): Wonderful - Second time visiting and we enjoyed it just as much. We love that it’s decorated for Christmas too. It’s gut everything we need for a lovely weekend break
- Kathryn (10/5): an absolutely lovely short break in a beautiful part of the UK. - The cottage is wonderful. It has beautiful views across the valley and feels like a home away from home. Fabulous shower, good water pressure, kitchen has pretty much everything you need. We even cooked a roast in it. This was not an issue for us but the description says the cottage is not appropriate for older people or those with mobility issues. Pay attention to this.
- Julie (10/5): - Beautiful Cottage with stunning views.
Very clean and comfortable with every attention to details catered for.
The Halloween decorations was a lovely touch. Nothing was perfect.
- Karen (8/5): Lovely stay in beautiful cottage - Absolutely beautiful cottage The lane way getting to the property was crazy narrow.
The master bed was very firm.
- caroline (10/5): Kindred Spirits - Wonderful cottage, perfect for 4 of us. Very comfortable. Pretty area to use as base Nothing
- Claire (10/5): Beautiful cottage, easy walk into Matlock. Very comfortable, lovely rustic charm with modern comforts. Ideal. - Beautiful, great attention to detail. Parking but you can’t have everything.
- Rachel (9/5): Lovely - Milk in fridge and coffee and tea as we forgot to bring any. Enjoyed the walk that was recommended.
- Lucy (9/5): Fantastic stay in a cute cottage with wonderful views. Great location for exploring nearby area. - Well stocked, cosy, very well maintained and decorated. Especially enjoyed the view and the powerful shower. My middle daughter loved the cat (we assumed was neighbours) who came to visit us. Parking space, very small and having a larger family car we parked once in the space but soon realised car was too big and parked once road. This was no trouble at all and plenty of space to park once street.
- David (8/5): - Quiet location, clean & comfortable Parking was a challenge
- Clare (10/5): We loved our stay, lovely location, great views. Convenient for our visit to Chatsworth and good access from M1. I would - Everything! It is a lovely cottage, very clean and comfortable. All essentials provided. Absolutely nothing.
- David (9/5): Very pleasant stay in a quiet location. - Well appointed and tastefully decorated. Comfortable and away from traffic. Very difficult car access.
- Steven (7/5): Good - Parking
- Ally (10/5): Pristine, beautiful cottage, perfect location, a little gem in every way. - Loved the location, cottage is very spacious, walking distance to shops, pubs, cafes etc, scenery from cottage is beautiful, the hosts have made the cottage perfect, it’s so clean, decor beautiful, garden is like a secret garden, everything you need is already provided in the cottage. A lot of effort has been made to make this a beautiful place to stay, will definitely be back - we didn’t want to leave!!

- Diane (8/5): Very good - The cottage lovely, clean and cosy. Unfortunately couldn't go out because of snow and ice, steep steps and hill. Did manage to get a taxi to come up to us one day, so had a lovely day out. Not spoiled our break, the golden girls had a lovely time.

- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional - Views were amazing. If you appreciate bird watching this accomodation is for you.
Accommodation excellent
Inviting and comfortable
Treats on arrival. ( thank you, the muffins were delicious)
Modern facilities, whilst being sympathetic to the age of this property. Trying to get through the tiny lane and parking the car was a little tight. We had, however, booked whilst there were preparations for a wedding going on. So there were a few extra vehicles and the odd big van blocking the entrance. But they were curtious and moved when they realised we were trying to access the lane.
- James (9/5): A relaxing cottage in the heart of the Derbyshire dales. Wish we’d have booked for a whole week! - The folder containing tourist information was full. Very clean property and well presented. Felt cosy but had ample space. It was nice to have the doors from the back bedroom onto the decking area.
Proximity to the key tourist areas is fantastic. Be sure to take the path from High Tor Road to the Heights Of Abrahams and go on the cable cars - well worth a visit! Could there be a parasol for the decking area? No shaver point in bathroom but a plug was provided so we were able to charge the toothbrush there instead so no drama.
- Demi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrea (10/5): Lovely cottage in a beautiful area. - Rose Cottage had everything we could possibly need. Kitchen was well equipped and even had a coffeemaker and a dishwasher. Plenty of space in the bedrooms and bathroom. Really liked the window/door, in the bedroom that led to the garden. Views from the cottage are wonderful.
- Tiago (10/5): Quiet, comfortable, pretty. - Nice little cottage, very comfortable and with excellent views. Great for nice and quiet. Very little. If I were to nitpick, it’s a shame the access to the property by car is so narrow.
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - Beautifully decorated and very cosy cottage, fully equipped to self-cater and in a great location to explore the beautiful surrounding area.
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Samantha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Darshana (10/5): Amazing cottage and stay - Cottage was really pretty, comfortable and in a beautiful location. Lovely sitting out in the evening with my friends and a bottle of wine. Views were amazing, peaceful just what we needed after living in a city. N/A
- Vicki (10/5): so lovely we didn’t want to leave - pretty and relaxing - so pretty and really well appointed. the trade off to the gorgeous location is the hill!

- Richard (10/5): Perfect short stay with best friends - It seemed as though the owners had considered everything and lots of lovely touches.
The property is also in a great location and the views across the valley are beautiful Nothing really…probably a shame there’s only one parking space. However it doesn’t detract from the experience
- Jackie (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (9/5): Superb - Lovely cottage great views A little bit hilly
- Rachel (9/5): A beautiful place to spend a few days in Matlock. - A very unique location, information about local wildlife and muffins for breakfast! A very first world problem but heated floors would have been lovely!
- Anne (8/5): Very good -
- Tina (10/5): Exceptional - Everything - Fabulous!!!! Nothing.

- Hayley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zoe (10/5): Great holiday home, exceeded our expectations! - Fantastic cottage, really clean, lovely garden. The owners have thought of everything. We were visiting family daily and it was nice to return to the cottage in the evenings, a real home from home. Nothing

Excellent location - Matlock & Matlock Bath both easy walking distance Couldn’t work the TV!
- Terry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (9/5): Lovely weekend stay. - The views, garden and decoration of the cottage. Could not park our larger car by the property.
- Alison (10/5): A wonderfully quiet, relaxing short break in an idyllic location! - The property is immaculate, welcoming and has a quiet and relaxing feel the moment you walk in the door! The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the terraced outdoor space is currently spectacular! Every possible need has been catered for.
- Adrian (9/5): Superb - The cottage had everything anyone could possibly need for a lovely stay
The attention to detail was excellent
Very ckean and with all the mod cons
We highly recommend this cottage The parking with a larger car was the only minor issue
- Elizabeth (10/5): Cosy Cottage - Beautiful attention to detail in the whole set up of the cottage, down to binoculars at hand to watch the lovely birds out the window on the feeders.
We really enjoyed our stay and thought the views were incredible and the gardens perfectly picturesque. Our only disappointment was that our stay wasn't longer.
- Phillip (10/5): The best cottage on Booking.com - The sunny weather enabled us to really enjoy the tranquil gardens. The cottage has absolutely everything that you could possibly need. There is nothing to dislike. Everything has been chosen with considerable thought.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Val (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hayley (9/5): Beautiful accommodation with views - Absolutely beautiful cottage, perfectly decorated, very clean with everything you need. Xmas decor added the extra touch. It’s lovely for summer and winter and good central location. The only negative is the sharp turn up a near vertical hill to reach it. With a car full of people and luggage my car was struggling so had to park on the flat road below and walk up and down everyday. Not a huge deal and would still book again.
- Vanessa (8/5): Beautiful character cottage - Lovely character home with far reaching views.
Everything thought of and spotlessly clean. Having to drive between two brick walls to park car...a bit tricky but you get used to it.
- Phillip (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joanne (10/5): Very comfortable cottage within walking distance of Matlock and Matlock Bath - Deceptively spacious, comfortable, homely and immaculate cottage with wonderful views and a fabulous private terraced garden. Off road parking space was perfect for 2 motorbikes and the welcome treats were lovely! Nothing to dislike - everything was perfect.
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage was so clean , and home from home , was so clean , just perfect Nothing apart from parking very difficult if you ha e a big car better parking down on road
