Guest Reviews
- Heedezy (6/5): -
- Christopher (4/5): - Whilst this is decribed as Kalbarri Inn it is little more than a backpacker's hostel. There is use of a communal kitchen but no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. We knew it was a shared bathroom but only 1 bathroom between 6 rooms upstairs and each room seemed to be a family room with a double bed and 2 sets of bunk beds. So potentially 36 people sharing that bathroom. There was a second toilet downstairs but also another two bedrooms down there.
This accommodation is definitely bottom end of the market but they are charging mid-range prices.
- Churton-Hughes (7/5): - Great location
- peter (6/5): I liked it, i just had to rough it a little. No big deal. - i provided breakfast, which is fine, but i need to bring my own tea bags and milk next time. the tv didn't work
- Tiziana (4/5): -
- Ellen (1/5): Unsatisfactory - We did not end up staying - Was unaware that there is no fence or separation between the backpackers property and the Inn, the backpackers appear to have shared use of the pool and barbecue area which is not advertised. This meant that on arrival there was a group of backpackers in the bbq area playing music and drinking which also consequently was right outside my window, so I could not open my curtains and felt as though we had no privacy or peace.
- One of the backpackers seemingly knew the code to enter the Inn, so how was to I know that they’re not just helping themselves to the amenities that I have payed extra for, particularly when there is no sign of a property owner or receptionist to patrol this, which is advertised that there is on site.
- There were atleast 6 flies all buzzing around the window that were stuck inside my room upon arrival, I had not opened a window for this to occur, they were there when I arrived.
- The true state of the bathroom is not fully shown in pictures.
- I did not feel safe, cosy or comfortable at all. I have stayed in lots of places with shared facilities in caravan parks etc, however, I have never felt so disappointed and uncomfortable to the point that I walked down the road and booked somewhere else for the night instead, which, mind you was CHEAPER, and I had my own bathroom, I felt safe, secure and had privacy.
- When I attempted to call the reception number I explained my issue and the person on the line went silent, then proceeded to report that they missed what I said, but when I went to re-iterate they told me they got everything. It’s now been about 2.5 weeks since I was told I would receive a call from the owner regarding my concerns, I have already followed up once and that was a week and a half ago and I have still heard nothing

- Ian (8/5): -
- Sammy (10/5): - Very comfortable, clean and well located. Friendly service and very helpful
- Lin (5/5): Great location, clean room, and a comfortable bed, but it unsuitable for light sleepers. - location is excellent, the bed is spacious and comfortable, and the room is clean and well-maintained. However, the biggest drawback is the lack of soundproofing. Your sleep quality really depends on the other guests. Unfortunately, during my stay, the room next door was occupied by a family with two young children who cried intermittently throughout the night. Early in the morning, there was significant noise from running around, packing, and movement on the stairs.
As a result, I was unable to sleep at all from midnight until 6 a.m. If you are a light sleeper, this is definitely something to consider before booking.
- Sarah (9/5): - Easy to find, nice big room, ac worked great, shared kitchen downstairs was handy and they had 2 big fridges to store stuff with labelled tubs for the rooms. Was confused about check in as the reception never seemed to open. We went away and came back a few times, then eventually asked a person who was hanging around. They went and got someone. Apparently we'd been sent an email with self check in instructions an hour before. Would have been nice to get this email the night before or early in the morning, since we are tourists and don't have mobile data once we leave our hotels. But once we got the info it was all pretty straightforward.
- Brad (7/5): - Brilliant location Bed was horrible, can hear everything happening in the building, no fridge or tv in room everything is in shared area
- Sherika (10/5): - Thank you for service it was lovely staying one night the kids loved it wanted to stay one more night.
- Clémence (10/5): -
- Christophe (6/5): - Personnel aimable, bon emplacement et self check-in bien organisé. Isolation phonique catastrophique dans ce bâtiment. Portes de chambres et salle de bains en mauvais état.
- Emily (6/5): -
- May (10/5): - The bed was comfortable, Everything was clean, The air conditioning was superb and the place itself was perfectly situated less than 2 minutes from inlet and the shops Failed to mention that it was a backpackers hostel/inn

- James (1/5): One of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in, if not the wors. - None whatsoever. No facial tissue, noisy guests, no smoke alarms, no chair, no table/desk, no reception at the advertised time of 3 pm to 6 pm.
The reception is open for only 3 hours each day, which indicates that the hotel’s owner isn’t serious about running a hotel, and so they might as well get out of the hotel business and hospitality industry altogether to spare potential guests from the death trap.

- DARCY (3/5): too noisy try to avoid - room is clean wooden floor sound isolation very bad, next room start wake up at 4am and 5am makes me can not sleep well
- Bridget (8/5): Ok - Location
- Anelka (1/5): Bad - Nothing Dirty, mouldy, loud noises all day and night, smell was so disgusting, bed was so uncomfortable, sheets were so scratchy, thin walls
- Nathan (7/5): Good value for a short stay, with expectations aligned to backpacker-style accommodation. - Easy self check-in and check-out. The private room with ensuite was clean and comfortable, and it worked well for a one-night stay. As a backpacker-style accommodation, some noise from other guests is to be expected. The bathroom does not have a door, so light from the bathroom can enter the room and affect sleep.
- Wahab (1/5): Before I book i saw the pictures it was something else and in reality it was totally different, - Nothing Everything
- Taiyaki (8/5): Budget accommodation -

- Stephen (2/5): Terrible experience at Kalbarri Inn - The location I was not aware this was a communal facility. No TV in room. No kettle or fridge in room. Walls were thin as paper. Had a baby in room next door which cried all night. We got no sleep. Every time someone walked up and down stairs it felt like elephants were being herded. The shower had thick soap scum on the tiles. The kettle in the communal kitchen did not work. The booking fee was way too high for what we received.
- Greta (9/5): -
- Aleksandr (8/5): - Smooth check-in.
Refreshing pool (small plastic one).
Blind was fixed fast after our fell (when I touched it).
Parrots all around. No tea (promised) in the common area.
Blind has feel after I touched it.
- Kelli (1/5): Traumatising - When we were able to leave. There was only one toilet for the whole bottom floor, and the toilet seat wasn’t attached. The shower head was low so we couldn’t fit under it, the shower looked and smelt disgusting, we chose to take our toiletries and use the showers at the beach instead to wash ourselves and do our teeth. The communal living room and kitchen was smelly and dingy, we didn’t want to touch anything. The bedroom smelt and we didn’t feel safe. We didn’t see any staff the whole time we were there. We could hardly sleep as we felt so uncomfortable. We got up and left at 5am.
- Nagendran (7/5): Good experience - Location very accessible Tv at reception not working also not able to watch movies
- Sujata (8/5): - Clean Hot Water is not available
- Can (10/5): -
- Quang (7/5): My family are happy to stay there even one night. We will be back - Location and big bed Noise from bathroom maybe at next door at night
- Priscilla (1/5): NOT WORTHY AT ALL - Nothing Everything
Room was filthy, no staff, just code check in.
I have booked a room for 4 people, only 2 towels provided.
Noisy room, could hear people walking on the floor above.
Rooms needs maintenance.
Paid 230 dollars for 1 night stay (4 people), It was a joke.
- Matthew (5/5): Its not an Inn, its a Hostel! Ok for a bed for the night (less than 12 hrs), thats all. - Nice size family room. The shower was old/grimy but the water was hot and gad a good pressure. We were in Room 5. You could hear every footstep, every cough and every other door close (slam) from where our room was situated. Also, the downstairs kitchen area smells.
Pictures on Booking.com are very deceiving. You won't want to swim in the pool.
- LI (1/5): Worst experience ever - Location It is not as described.
- Pauli (10/5): -
- Ayumu (1/5): -
- Kien Hao (8/5): -
- Kipkoech (1/5): - I did not stay when I found a bedbug in my room. I left at night.
- Cha Chi (8/5): -
- Jasmine (1/5): Absolutely horrible the staff lied shower was broken no hot water - Not much Everything
rude
no hot water
Dirty bedding
Broken shower
- Natalie (7/5): - Not included. All good.
- Ian (6/5): Otherwise nice facilities - Good price Thin walls, VERY noisy. Door was ill-fitting and constantly “rattled” with the wind.
- Leone (8/5): -
- Mark (9/5): -
- Rebecca (1/5): ? - ? ?
- Angie Paola (7/5): -
- Evans (8/5): Good budget accommodation in Kalbarri - Easy check in with friendly host
Basic rooms very clean
Shared kitchen, dining, lounge with all facilities
Next door to backpackers hostel so plenty of friendly youngsters to chat to Walls are a bit thin
- Evans (9/5): - Friendly check in host
Good room
Good kitchen facilities and lounge area
Walls quite thin communal toilet and shower
Great value for money
- Lorraine Barham (6/5): - I had the private room with own bathroom the bed was so comfortable and clean just floor boards creeked alot but other then that was great Bitnoisy
- Ramsay (5/5): It was short and had everything I needed, nothing more either but overall it was ok. - It was good for what I needed, I arrived late, and left early the next morning..the room was tidy and the bed was comfy, and was able to have a hot shower in the morning, There was nothing that I didn’t like as such, could do with up spruce up though, again I only spent4-5 ish hours there and most of that was in the comfy bed..
- Alan Wei Lun (10/5): -
- Chloe (6/5): -
- Dorothy (4/5): Disappointing for the price. The profile on Booking.com was misleading. - The location was convenient to the estuary and Pelican feeding spot. The family room was spacious and so were the communal kitchen and lounge. It is a backpackers hostel, not a house. 0verpriced for the facility. The laundry and backyard were used by backpackers in the lodge next door, some doing their laundry after 9 pm. It was not well maintained: cracked and flaking paint black mould in the shower recess. We bought bleach and cleaned the shower before using it. The television in the lounge room did not work, even for the manager’s assistant, ‘No Signal’
- Adrian (5/5): - Staff friendly and helpful, good meet and great. Helped with guidance to resort Furnishing rather tired, bathroom clean but poor, all tired and sad. Bed headboard not attached, poor sound insulation in rooms, very noisy family not told to to be quiet probably upset many guests. TV in communal area did not work, no plugs for sink in kitchen all facilities tired and need replacing.
- Michael (5/5): Nice room, shame about the toilet and shower - Nice rooms The shared bathroom facilities were inadequate one toilet and one shower and in serious need of a up grade for 6 rooms we had a 2 doubles and a family room so potentially could have been 10 in just half the rooms,
- Darragh (7/5): -
- Louise (2/5): Not recommended for families. - Good location. close to the front. We were located on the bottom floor and we could hear everything that occurred above us, every movement, every shower, even conversations. Not a good option for anyone looking for a peaceful stay. The room was semi cleaned but we still found old hair ties just under the bed. I would only recommend for backpackers.
- llliic (9/5): -
- Tanghulu (7/5): -
- Micheal (5/5): -
- Evgeniya (1/5): - Nothing Our bed was broken, it was like a hostel
- Md Osam (5/5): Need a renovation then it can be perfect as location was very good walking distance from shops and beach. - The location was good and facilities good as well. Property is very old. Carpets were very old. Bathroom and toilet very old not feeling good to use. Carpets, toilet, bathroom and paint needs to be renovate for comfort. It was very noisy from upstair floor when people walk which hampered sleeps.
- Michelle (8/5): We got exactly what we expected at Kalbarri Inn for the one night we stayed. Thank you. - Great customer service. Clean rooms. Easy check in and out process. - We needed more towels in the family room since we were 5 people in the room (were given 2 towels). I’m sure if we’d have asked for more towels, it would have been accommodated quickly, but we chose to just share the 2 towels among us all.
- noisy flooring upstairs
- Deborah (6/5): Good stay but wouldn't do a back packers again. - They had tried to make the room homely with attractive extras. Absolutely stunning beachside town. Forgotten I had booked a back-packers but the room had it's own bathroom so that's probably why I had booked it.
- marc (5/5): Enjoyed kalbarri not so much where we stayed. - Location good. Didn't realise shared bathroom, no tv in room& the tv in the lounge Didn't work either. Very basic facilities. It's named as a motel but in reality it's a backpackers which had i known i wouldn't have chosen to stay there.
- Wang (9/5): -
- Claude (7/5): Convenient for a one night stay in Kalbarri. - Good location. Use of common kitchen. WiFi was cutting in and out sporadically in our room.
- Dolkar (3/5): It’s not recommended - Lounge and kitchen Flooring and rooms as small noise or sound made in other rooms could be herd by neighbors, going toilet at middle of the night was problem as toilet is shared toilet even small noise of footstep is very disturbing and last but not the least timing like after 9 pm we have to literally murmur to each other as per the inn rules.
- Valentina (10/5): Basic accomodation, very good location - Basic but comfortable, walking distance from the main attractions and lovely staff. It’s attached to the backpackers hostel and can be noisy at times, the bathroom could have use an extra round of cleaning but all in all it was alright for what we paid.
- Neil (6/5): - It was clean and comfortable, everyone else staying was kind Very noisy. Paper thin walls, meant you heard people cough, talk. Earplugs needed for sleeping.
- Ngoc Minh (4/5): that's OK - good location The bathroom is so bad, the toilet is dirty
- Hilary (5/5): We didn't realise it was a bacpackers - N/a Noise
