• Metztli (10/5): - Hotel Makani exceeded expectations in all the right ways. The beds were comfortable and the hot water was consistent regardless of the time of day, which made a noticeable difference after long days of exploring. The location is a real highlight: far enough from the main street to stay quiet, yet still walkable to the public beach, shops, and restaurants. It’s that sweet spot that’s hard to find. The front desk attendant was genuinely helpful and went above and beyond. He connected us to a private ferry service that gave us the flexibility to hop between towns and return to Panajachel after 9 PM, which opened up our itinerary considerably. The hotel also offers unlimited filtered water for the entire stay (somewhere around 15 to 25 quetzales), a small touch that made a big difference. I was concerned about the lack of A/C but the rooms actually managed to stay comfortable through the night plus there was a fan. WiFi worked perfectly- was able to do some work before heading out to explore the town. Waking up to a rooster on a few mornings.

The staff gave a ticket for breakfast at a hotel 5-10 Minutes walk away. The breakfast was really good! Need more lighting, hooks, and side tables in the room. Need more hooks in the bathroom. Was very cramped.

• Richard (5/5): Fine for one night. Maybe just go somewhere closer for breakfast. - An acceptable, functional hotel if you're simply staying overnight in Panajachel. No thrills. Nice staff. We arrived well before check-in time, and they had a room ready for us within ten minutes. When booking, I knew the breakfast was served at another location. This turned out to be on the far side of town, further away than I'd been led to expect. The breakfast was very basic, and the most likely cause of the stomach bug I suffered for the next 24 hours.

• Thede Θοδωρής (10/5): Gute, ruhige Adresse unweit vom Atitlán-See - Ruhig, sehr nette und hilfsbereite Leute, zentral. In der Nähe gute Restaurants. Liebevoll gepflegter Hof mit Sitzgelegenheiten. Kleiner Laden mit den wichtigsten Reiseutensilien an der Rezeption. Es sollte an der Straße unten ein Schild zum Hotel angebracht werden. Das Frühstück ist etwas weit weg, dafür belohnt einen dann ein sehr schönes Restaurant. Das zunächst vergebene Zimmer hatte nicht die versprochenen 24 qm., man wechselte es und dann aber in ein größeres. Sehr hellhörig.

Destacando a don Edgar, su amabilidad y quien siempre estuvo atento a todos nosotros, a nuestra comodidad, y siempre pendiente de que nada nos faltara. Nada que agregar. Todo excelente .
• Marvin (9/5): Acogedor, comodo, con mucha tranquilidad. - La atención brindada fue de primer nivel, empezando por don Edgar que fue super atento con nosotros desde el momento de nuestra llegada, incluso nos permitieron dejar el carro mucho antes del check-in y se aseguraron que las habitaciones estuvieran limpias y listas para usarse. Incluso hasta nos ayudaron con un calzado que se nos mojo y nos lo dejaron como nuevo, listo para usarse al dia siguiente :) Es poco lo que se podria decir, pero quiza la puntualidad a la hora de iniciar el check-in es algo importante a mejorar, esto porque a la hora de la llegada las habitaciones aun no estaban listas (lo cual estaba bien por la hora que llegamos) pero 1hr despues de la hora de check-in seguian sin estarlo, por dicha fue una excelente oportunidad para ir conociendo Panajachel, lo cual ya es ganancia.

• Lucia (3/5): Pésima - El jardín era bonito y la ubicación no estaba mal, estaba cerca aunque por un camino sin asfaltar ni iluminación. Hacía frío en la habitación, el agua caliente no servía, el wifi funcionaba mal, por la noche era imposible dormir porque había luz fuera y la cortina no tapaba nada, no había ninguna privacidad ya que se veía a través de la ventana. Además por la noche estaban gritando fuera, ni con talones se podía dormir. Tuve que irme a las 5 de la mañana y no había luz ni electricidad en la habitación.

Breakfast is good Water in the shower was terrible, either none at all or all over the place or plenty but cold. In order to take a shower you just wake up early before other guests to have enough hot water. Rooms need side tables and maybe a chair. Restaurant is a good 10-15 minutes away.

• Juan (7/5): - El hotel y el jardín son bonitos, la señora era muy simpática, y el hotel está muy cerca de donde se cogen los barcos. El desayuno no es en el hotel, sino en un restaurante en la otra punta de la ciudad, a 20 minutos caminando, lo cual nos pareció absurdo, deberían avisarlo antes porq hubiéramos preferido ir a cualquier otro restaurante por nuestra cuenta para no perder tanto tiempo. La ducha estaba sucia. Faltó luz un par de veces, y tambien faltó agua caliente varias veces.

• Elizabeth (5/5): Good value for money - great for heavy sleepers - This property was tucked away up off the Main Street. The exterior was charming and the staff were so friendly. It was super noisy, as it is just off the Main Street the noise carries. You will also hear all your neighbours - ours liked to talk loudly all night. There was also a significant amount of fireworks being let off - Not a fault of the owners what can they do. But just be aware if you are a light sleeper you may struggle here a little.

El trato y la amabilidad de los encargados de recepción, sobre todo la mujer que me cosió prendas de vestir. Ducha de agua caliente no falla. Cerca de restaurantes y al lado del lago y el embarcadero para ir a los pueblos. Nada que añadir.

• Ivan (5/5): - Staff was responsive, friendly, and accommodating. Location was near the water and the ferry for private boats. A window in the bathroom was broken that let in mosquitoes. Had to argue with staff so that they could block the window. Pillow cases were dirty. The rooms were got were extremely loud next to the office. No hot water, even after asking multiple times. Just the basics, don't expect much more.
