• ShengWen (9/5): - It was a self-check-in hotel suite. I took a little time to figure the entrance to get in. However, separated entrance offered the enough privacy. There were three rooms with simple equipped kitchen and one bathroom. The suite was clean with large space. Limited free parking space was located at back of the building. We took street car to down town which was very convenient. I was not aware there is no elevator to access this suite.

• Melissa (6/5): It was fine. - The apartment was spacious. The amenities included were sufficient. This is not a boutique hotel even though it is labelled such. I would have given a better rating had it been listed as simply an apartment. If you expect the service and cleanliness of a boutique hotel, this is not it! Otherwise fine.

A very big and comfortable Bed, enough sockets to charge my phone and other stuff, a little kitchen to cook something (with plates, pans, forks, spoons, dishwasher, microwave and so on), more than enough space in the shower and so much more. The check-in was very easy (getting the codes for the doors before entering the hotel via e-mail). I really like the westlake and when there will be sometime another possibility to go to Toronto, I will book the Westlake again. It is a little bit outside from Toronto, but with the streetcar and the Go-Trains, you need not much time to get in the center of Toronto.

• Randy (3/5): Gross and disappointing - Free parking I booked a night's stay as a brief retreat for my soon to be wife and I. With a newborn baby, a wedding next week, and a new house a week later, this was our last chance to do something together for some time. I went well out of budget to choose The Westlake because I wanted to treat the woman I love to something nice. Boy did I chose wrong. Upon arrival we were greeted by 1-800 junk carrying a mattress down the stairs that was filled with what looked like blood (Westlake staff said it was coffee....). Once entered our room it at first looked nice, clean, and well appointed but that initial impression quickly faded. The carpets are stained, the toilet paper dispenser fell apart, the hand towel hanger was broken, mold peppered the shower ceiling, various stains were present on the bed frame and the TV remote was falling apart. What a massive and gross disappointment. I emailed The Westlake staff the next morning searching for a refund and a chance to apologize/redeem themselves before I wrote this review. They apologized with a lie when they said all of these issues have been fixed! Either it just so happened these exact things were fixed right after we left without my email prompting or they changed the carpet, fixed the mold, replaced the fixtures, replaced the TV remote and did a thorough clean (like they clearly have not done previously) or, and more logically, they lied. For my inconvenience they offered a 10% discount which I told them was good enough, I'd rather warn others not to waste their hard earned money. THIS HOTEL IS NOT WORTH THE PRICE.

Місця багато, для 4х людей не тісно Відсутність шаф, не було куди складати речі. Також швабра, якою прибирають не провітрюється, від неї йде неприємний запах, виставляли її на балкон.

• Lydia (8/5): It was an ok stay, but a bit disappointed overall for the price of $340 for one nights' stay! - The place was quiet, bed was comfortable and tons of room. I was disappointed as I didn't realize it was on an upper floor, so there were accessibility issues as there were many very steep stairs. The kitchen area had wooden counter peeling up due to water damage and I found a dirty fork and someone's large hoop earring inside the bed frame, which made me wonder how well the beds are cleaned? Also, the mini fridge was cracked and didn't have any ice cube trays, and there was no dish rack to drain dishes after cleaning? Also only one Splenda was provided for coffee.

• bruno (1/5): Nous avons refusé d'entrer - Bonjour, l'hôtel est situé dans un quartier mal famé. Dans le même corps de bâtiment se situe un établissement au rez de chaussé le EVENT VENUE & BAR consacré aux activités de nuit très tardives sans possibilité de cohabitation avec des touristes classiques tranquilles comme nous le sommes. Ils nous a même semblé que des liens fonctionnels existaient entre l'hôtel THE WEST LAKE et l'établissement nocturne mentionné. A tel point que nous avons ouvert la porte du rez de chaussée mais n'avons pas voulu pénétré dans l'hôtel et encore moins dans la chambre. Nous avons payé pour une nuit du 31 juillet au 01 août, nous ne sommes pas rentrés dans l'hôtel, n'y n'avons pas dormis et aujourd'hui 16 août nous attendons toujours le remboursement car le descriptif ne correspond pas à la réalité. Also - because there isn’t any staff on hand - people can be VERY LOUD in the hallways. A few tasteful ‘reminder’ signs might be helpful.

• Wilson (9/5): Strong B plus - with a few minor adjustments needed to land the A. - This was my first experience with a self-check-in, no-staff-at-the-front-desk type of hotel. It was fine. There was an issue with the AC unit in the room I booked, so we were switched to a different room. This happened with a phone call before we arrived. The room was designed well. It felt great on the eyes. Exposed brick and beams, up lighting, and hip carpet were cool. The bathroom tile work was well done, and the use of glass was impressive. The room itself was spotless. Very cool skylight at the entrance to the room brought in natural light. The bathroom was tight. The design could have moved a wall a few feet to allow for more space in the bathroom. I suspect they were hindered by the renovation within the footprint of the existing building, still it would have been nice. The lighting was inadequate in some spots. No light over the dinner table. No strong lighting in the bedroom so looking into the suitcase or bags was a dark rummage for what was needed. No luggage stands to keep bags off the floor were available. The room had the most uncomfortable chair know to man in front of the TV. It looks cool but it was ridiculous to sit in to try and watch TV. My suggestion is a small, comfortable sectional that would visually divide the room and provide a much better user experience. There was a lack of garbage cans in the suite. Nothing under the sink nor in the living room or bedroom. Only one was in the bathroom.

My first time was perfect but the second time not so good - I really like the themes The AC was constantly making a very loud noise and we’re not even turn off. The bed was sinking because the baseboards were spread too far, which made me sleep very uncomfortable, and I found a cockroach in the bathroom.

This is one of these operations where you never meet a human - that's good and bad. Odd bedside lamp, no desk suitable for work. Also after book on this site the emailed me a registration form including asking for phot of my ID (both sides) I found this intrusive and unnecessary and declined. they were OK about that.

As someone who cleans medical facilities I have high standards and they were definitely on point in all the important areas especially! Parking was a bit inconvenient, bringing the stuff in, but otherwise no issues. Quiet area at night.
• Selena (1/5): It was alright… - So many things were broken… the bathroom smells like mildew… one of the shower heads didn’t get hot… the flusher for the toilet was broken (toilet flushed but the piece itself is cracked and going into the toilet) the table in the dining room was filthy… the table in the bedroom was broken and being held up by TAPE… the dresser was dirty… the lamp cover looked like someone wiped their makeup on it.. the heater vents were full of dust… a portion of the wood by the window was missing… the outlet by the bed didn’t work… i sent a message out to let the owners know what’s going on and they offered me wine and a later check out… for someone who didn’t drink and had to leave early in the morning that does absolutely nothing for me to which I also voiced and then they just ignored me…

The location isn't great but suited our needs for that particular night. I was a bit disappointed with a few things - a number of the lightbulbs were burned out; there was no coffee for the Keurig machine; there were pebbles on the beds and there was only 1 hand towel and no face cloths in the bathroom (also, the bathroom mirrors in front of the sink were too high). None of these were major items but it felt like there was a lack of attention to some basic details.
• Isabella (3/5): Poor - For what I paid I thought I was getting the 33 ft.². The room is very small. Very close to other people could hear them at 2 o’clock in the morning wasn’t satisfied.

• Kristina (10/5): Charming, artistic, historical building made to feel like home. - The Westlake Boutique Hotel is thoughtfully curated and handled with care. Safety and privacy are paramount with 3 seperately coded doors to your entrance. Concierge communication is 24/7 on text which adds appeal for its ease and personal feel. Each room here is themed and all will feel like your own little condo. There is a massive rooftop oasis patio with string lights and colourful muskoka chairs to soak in the autumn air - power outlets and usb outlets are there if you have work to do. Our room was equipped with plates, bowls, cutting boards, cutlery, bottle openers, cups, mugs, coffee, tea, and creamer. The living space had a decent selection of hardcover books, thoughtfully placed lighting for turn down, ample outlets including a few USB outlets. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are in sleek wall mounted pumps in the wall in rainfall shower you can choose to enjoy with or without the multi pressure handheld nozzle. If you choose to use the nozzle only you can relieve any sore muscles in your shoulders because the pressure is fabulous. The bathroom had a full sized hairdryer and a clothing steamer which were fabulously appreciated additions. The bathroom had a dimmable light which was lovely. California shutters cover the window fixtures that boast a lovely windowsill view of old-style lakeshore light fixtures and some foliage despite being on the main road. Take the time to read the Westlake welcome book they have in your room as there’s a huge selection of board games offered complimentary to enjoy your stay, as well as rentable VR headsets which sounds pretty cool. They also have suggestions there for things to try around town. The cleaning team here were polite and courteous and did an excellent job keeping our sheets fresh and ensuring we had fresh fluffy towels for our shower times. I read a few reviews from demanding sounding people and all I can say is a please, a thank you and a $5 note can certainly go a long way if you are extra needy lol. No hotel robes which is my personal favourite mini luxury
