Guest Reviews
- Benjamin (8/5): -
- Emily K Shrapnel (8/5): Fantastic apartment, home away from home. - The place was fantastic. Comfortable lounge and bed, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook up a few meals. The place was clean with great facilities and the food items supplied for breakfast was as good as any 5* hotel. The aircon kept the lounge and kitchen lovely and cool but the bedroom only had a fan. The day was 47 degrees and the night was around 40 degrees, there was minimal airflow from the lounge and the ceiling fan didn't cool the room that much making it mildly uncomfortable.
- Cathie (9/5): An exceptional location and hospitality, particularly for a small country town. An oasis of comfort - The generosity of the hosts is extraordinary. So much thought put into food supply, the comforts and practicalities of home, and the location was ideal. A short walk to the river, or the shops. I was bothered by the noise of the small iron foundry/factory next door. It was ok for me as I was there late Friday and heard it for only two hours, but it might be bothersome for someone staying during the week.
- Happy (9/5): It is more than anyone could ask for and I would highly recommend this place to anyone. - Everything was there, even hotels are not this convenient and detailed . They take every little details into consideration which truly exceeded my expectations. Nothing
- Jo (10/5): Deserves the high rating! Great little place - Very quiet, cool, clean and extremely well kitted out. They have gone a long way to ensuring you have everything you need for an overnight stay. Great breakfast supplies, snacks, laundry supplies, etc. Located in a quiet side street, beside a garage (modern colourbond frontage, on street parking). There’s no windows at the front, or in the bedroom, but this was perfect as the place is cool and quiet - which is what we needed when travelling! Nothing! Am very happy we picked this property!
- Humphreys (10/5): - Great place to stay in Hay for a clean homely environment with plenty of snacks.
Would highly recommend.
- Colin (10/5): - Well.... Everything. I have never seen such a large selection of "Continental breakfast choice's"
There was fresh fruit, yoghurt, single serve fruit in juice, crumpets, choice's of bread, cerial, iced coffee, chocolate, pod coffee & the list goes on.
I shouldn't be giving such a big wrap as it may be difficult to get in at the next time
Well done.. I suggested that they position the microwave to the other side of the stove.
That's all!
- Mary (10/5): Very comfortable stay, responsive hosts, and thoughtful provisions/ snacks. Thanks so much! - Ease of access; quick response from owners; thoughtful provisions.
- Sophie (10/5): -

- Rod (9/5): Absolutely fantastic - Everything, great sized rooms, comfortable bed, excellent kitchen with everything you would ever need. Good location only a short walk to parks and shops.
We have been staying in Hay once to twice a year for over 30 years this is the best place we have stayed at yet.
Would highly recommend Morros Place to stay at short or long stays.
Only downside to leaving this review is that the more people who find out about this little gem we will be unable to get a booking here in the future.
Well done to Jack & Zoe 👍🥂 Only nitpicking a Morros Place sign above the door would be a nice touch.
- Simon (10/5): Great overnight stay in the best accommodation in Hay. - We had a great stay at Morros Place. We have stayed in Hay many times, travelling from Sydney to Adelaide and this accommodation was easily the best we have stayed in. Having been disappointed before, we were expecting the worst, and planning to make it a quick in and out visit. We were very pleasantly surprised to find such a carefully and completely executed, comfortable, clean and functional space. The location may seem odd at first glance (it is built into a warehouse) but the personal touches (fit out and facilities, multiple snacks, breakfast choices, fresh fruit, coffee machine) just elevate the experience. It is all so thoughtfully done - having travelled a lot over many years it is rare to enter an apartment, open the fridge and go “ooh look at that”.
This, plus an excellent pub meal at the local down the road made this our best stopover in Hay in 30 years. Morros Place will be our first place to book next time we are on the long drive to Adelaide.
- Smith (7/5): Great for an overnight stopover - Location, very well stocked with extras Too much clutter (Xmas decorations) get in the way of using valuable space
- Janet (9/5): - It was well organised clean and the bed was very comfortable The lack of windows is a little off putting but we were able to have one door open for fresh air ,and the fans worked well
- Kahla Martinuz (10/5): Awesome place to stay, reset and relax - Location was great. Close enough to town without being in the town. The space itself was lovely. Very well set-up. The facilities were also very clean and nice. The additional touches including the snacks and drinks were such a nice touch especially after a long drive. There was nothing I could really fault with accommodation.
- Loretta (10/5): 100% recommend this place above other accommodation in Hay. - Everything you would ever need is provided and it is spotlessly clean. There is nothing I didn’t like about this property. This is my 7th stay here and I will continue stay here in the future.
- Fenty (10/5): Always feels like home - Comfy and super clean Nothing
- Happy (10/5): Great place to stay, memorable - Home away from home feeling, pampered by all sorta of options in the property. Love the hospitality.
- Peter (10/5): A nice self contained surprise location with lots of attention to detail - Comprehensive facilities and well stocked with goodies The Xmas decorations were a nice touch. (It did make it a little hard to find horizontal space for our own gear however)
- Aaron (10/5): Excellent dog-friendly property in the heart of Hay -
- Pam (10/5): Love staying here on our way from Adelaide to Brisbane. - This is our third stay here. Exceptionally clean and so well stocked. The Xmas decorations make a lovely touch. So welcoming and super comfortable. Nothing
- Nielie (10/5): Fantastic, Ioved it. - It was clean and tidy, it has everything you need after a long day of travel. The breakfast and snacks are a great touch and was very much appreciated when your tried from travelling.
- DAVID (10/5): Would recommend to anyone for a short break in Hay. - The continental breakfast provisions were more than ample and the whole experience was very enjoyable. All the “little extra things” were a very thoughtful addition and much appreciated. We would not hesitate to stay there again. David. Nothing. All good
- Sydnee (10/5): Highly recommended - Great communication with owners.
Property was very clean and tidy, equipped with everything needed. Nothing, it was perfect
- brian (10/5): Perfect just nails it - We loved everything about this accommodation I can see why this has such a high score. Just perfect Nothing
- Joanne (10/5): Really enjoyed our stay. Very comfortable after a long drive. - Attention to detail, cleanliness, generosity by providing snacks, fruit and chocolates for free.
- Jill (9/5): Awesome, highly recommended. - Comfortable, clean and quiet, great location.
Awesome, and a well stocked fridge and breakfast bar was fantastic!
- Jodi (10/5): -
- Gary (10/5): Great stay - Everything from check in to check out was just perfect. Great snacks and very clean place thanks so much.
- Jodi (10/5): -
- stephen (9/5): a great place to break the drive - the catering is superb - you could arrive here with nothing late at night and have a meal and sleep and breakfast and head on your way extremely happy! we walked down the main st on saturday after 7pm and had a few meal options - all seemed good! the cleaning products have a strong odour
- Alexandra (10/5): Just right - Beautiful little place, great for a stop in on our travels, would definitely come back. Great touch with all the snacks! If I had to be picky, there was a cup that was a little dirty but other than that everything was super easy and comfy and had everything we need for the night
- Amanda (10/5): It’s a must stay when in hay - It was amazing we have now stayed twice now and will stay again Nothing at all
- Carsten (10/5): -
- Tony (9/5): Best accommodation in town - Clean, free snacks, quiet Chairs hard, bed base juts out - trip hazard, back door hard to open
- Catherine (10/5): Best dog friendly accommodation ever - Best dog friendly accommodation we've ever stayed in. Very generous and friendly hosts. If i have to pick something, there were no windows. Saying that, we didn't care and would stay again any day.
- Amanda (10/5): Don’t tell anyone about it keep it a secret between family and friends - The easiest booking I’ve every made and the best I’ve made Nothing at all maybe the chocolates as I’m on a diet
- Eilidh (10/5): - Beautiful place with generous snacks and easy access to Hay township, even on foot. Jack and Zoe have clearly put lots of thought into this place to ensure guests want for nothing.
- Joanne (10/5): Will stay again when coming through - Everything was just perfect. Lovely and clean, perfect stopover. Would highly recommend.
- Lamaro (10/5): -
- Noel (10/5): - A pleasant surprise there’s nothing you could fault.
- Jacq (10/5): - Such a great little place to stay. We stayed both ways on our trip from Sydney to Adelaide and it was excellent. So well stocked with everything you might need. It was 100% improvement on our previous motel stays in Hay.
- David (10/5): The place was very clean, well located with lots of breakfast options. - Very clean. Heaps of breakfast options and snacks. Nothing.
- Wendy (10/5): An unexpected oasis - Extremely generous provisions and absolute cleanliness. - Extremely generous provisions and cleanliness.
- fuhong (9/5): -
- Petina (10/5): -
- Peter (10/5): Great - Nice surprise when you open the door
Very modern neat and tidy
- Madonna (9/5): Relaxing - Great location close to the Murrumbidgee River for walking the dog. The free snacks were greatly appreciated. Comfortable bed. Very clean.
- Darryl (10/5): Excellent, as always (we have frequent stayer status 😉) - Lots of breakfast and snack options.
- Aquilina (9/5): Superb -
- Darryl (10/5): We’re frequent (and very happy) visitors -
- Sam (10/5): probably within one of the best 3 pet friendly accommodation we have experienced -
- Sally-anne (10/5): Surprise gem - Our stay at the Morro’s Place was fantastic! What a surprise find in Hay – and what an amazing alternative to the dingy motel options! The apartment was like new, perfectly appointed and was spacious, very clean, and stylishly furnished. It had every little thing that you could reasonably need – and more! Breakfast options, fruit bowl, juice, snacks, yoghurts, iced coffee options – and even individually wrapped mint slices – and let’s not forget the Cadbury favourites! There is a self-appointed laundrette, complete with washing detergent, beautiful linen and a comfortable bed. When our circumstances changed and we were considering travelling a day earlier than planned, Jack and Zoe were super flexible and allowed us to make the change without penalty (thank you!!). Morro’s Place is easy to find, and located in a quiet street. The best bit for us was travelling with our dog, as Morro’s Place is pet friendly. (Highly recommend Hay Pizza Bar pizzas as well). We'll definitely be back when transiting across the Hay Plain! Thank you Jack and Zoe! I wish you guys had apartments to rent all around Australia!! Nothing!

- Heidi (10/5): An oasis stopover on a long outback trip! - Easy to find, quiet location, every convenience and need catered for. Complementary snacks and food very much appreciated, made arriving late and leaving early so much easier as well as made me feel like I was pampered :-)
Spacious and homely - like a little slice of home on the road.
- Soo-meng (9/5): Comfort, Value, and Great Treats – Morros Place - Morros Place is a fantastic apartment that offers excellent value for money. It’s spacious, clean, well maintained and thoughtfully furnished, making it feel like a true home away from home. The breakfast options are amazing with something for everyone including soy milk and fresh fruit, and the array of snacks available are a lovely touch that adds to the overall experience. This apartment is a top pick for anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable stay.

- Alison (10/5): highly recommend! - such a cozy, clean and secluded place to stay! the owners are very generous and leave out a lot of complimentary snacks and staples to eat♡ the bed was super comfy and the shower worked great 😊 everything was great, if we were being fussy, the laundry detergent was a bit strong on the nose and it might be better to go in a cabinet but our stay was great, highly recommend
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zhan (10/5): Excellent as always, we will be back -
- Andrew (10/5): They Thought of Everything! - The generous country hospitality of an amazingly well stocked pantry & fridge . . . every appliance & utensil one could want . . . the low-key industrial vibe.
- Patricia (10/5): Exceptional - Great place. Well designed space. The provisions supplied and the snacks exceeded expectations.
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fenty (10/5): Exceptional -
- Davy (9/5): A perfect stopover if you’re traveling between Adelaide and Sydney. - I really liked the facility. Even though Hay is in the middle of nowhere, this spot is the perfect place to stay. It’s certainly better than a motor inn — really easy check-in and check-out, a clean and cozy apartment, with a fridge stocked for breakfast and complementary snacks. Great bonus that it’s pet-friendly! I generally don’t give high ratings easily as I’m a seasoned traveller, but this one truly surprised me. Hats off to Jack and Zoe for creating such a welcoming place. Nothing major, but two small improvements could make it a 10/10: please upgrade the towels — the current ones felt like sandpaper — and consider a firmer, higher-quality mattress.
- Gajan (10/5): Amazing! Highly recommend! Read pet comments. - Super clean and conveniently located! Prompt with replies. Furnitures were so comfy and it was honestly such a lovely and cosy stay! Probably the most stocked up fridge and pantry I have seen. Thank you so much for hosting us and for such a beautiful stay. Not that I didn't like it - but I think the pet policy as to what criteria you are strict on should be made clear prior to booking/payment. (such as where dog is allowed in property + $20 pet cleaning fee (even though my dog was non shedding and we left the property clean) + not allowing pets to say alone in property). Thankfully my dog was really chilled and was trained to sleep on his own bed. This might help other pet owners who have a clingy/anxious dog :)
- Ashley (9/5): Will definitely be back - Great property. Clean, all the little extra things from snacks to breakfast items was excellent. Ability to have pets. Best I’ve stayed in on our travels. Communication was excellent also Nothing, everything was great
- Vernon (9/5): Superb -
- Marion (10/5): Excellent choice for a dog friendly stopover in Hay - highly recommended - Super well equipped with excellent snack and breakfast supplies far exceeding anything we've ever seen in all our Airbnb stays. Great little place with plenty of space. Good kitchen and great laundry facilities (thankyou for even providing washing detergent!) Nothing - it was terrific
- Nicky (10/5): My go to place to stay in Hay - Dog friendly! Extremely well catered for the traveller. Comfortable bed, great shower, impeccably clean, stocked fridge. It’s by far my preferred place to stay when driving from Sydney to Adelaide (and back) No real outdoor area. Small bbq patio area but no grass. But it’s very close to huge park by the river so that’s a plus.
- Donna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Loretta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lucie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Frank (8/5): The stay was very pleasant, it felt like being home with all the comforts of home so close to town. - We had a great selection of foods to choose from which made the next day for travelling great. The only thing we did not like was the noise from the shed next door when the person was opening the steel sliding door and no off-street parking.
- Vernon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Liam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Treseder (8/5): Great place to stay with perks! - The place looks as good as the photos. Very modern and homely.
They packed the room with so many food treats it was exceptional beyond you would ever enticipate.
Chips, noodles, yoghurt, water, cordial, cereals etc. As the place doesn't have any windows there is a humidifier machine turned on. It's noisy throwing off the sound reminiscently being on a plane.
Having no windows you lose sense of time (the natural feeling of seeing it light or dark outside).
The positives far outweighed the negative. We would certainly stay again.
- Kaylene (7/5): Good -
- Liam (10/5): Exceptional - The effort they put in to make your stay extremely comfortable.
Best place I’ve stayed off bookings.com
- Dale (10/5): Exceptional - I loved everything. So clean, neat and tidy. Smells divine, nice and cool, got everything you need and more. Yummy selection of breakfast food,, tea, coffee, cold drinks, yoghurt, fruit, cereal, snacks and oh yes the best - my favourite choccie bickies:)
Nice big shower, wash machine, tumble dryer, little outdoor area. Could've stayed there forever! Nothing. It was perfect.
- Jo-anna (10/5): Exceptional - Location, facilities...everything! There was no off street parking
- Frank (8/5): The stay was fantastic as we very much surprised when we opened the door. - The property has everything to make you feel like your at home even though your away, it is very good . The only thing we didn’t like was no off street parking and there was some noises from the shed next door this morning ,
- Kathryn (8/5): Very good -
- Gail (9/5): We REALLY LOVED our overnight stay in Morro's Place! Your accommodation was PERFECT for Us. - All aspects of our stay were perfect. This one bed home is so quaint, and we were made very welcome. The property was easily located in Hay, it was clean and well equipped, with a well-stock pantry and fridge. This was a great home away from home for us, as a pitstop between Sydney and Adelaide. There was no view of the outside from inside the property, which wasn't ideal for someone who likes natural light. But, that didn't impact our short stay, and we will definitely book to stay there again.
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Alison (10/5): Exceptional - The property included everything, and more, that is required for a one-night stay. Well-furnished, clean and in a good location near the Murrumbidgee River in Hay.
- Karan (9/5): Superb -
- Gautam (10/5): Possibly the best accommodation in Hay, beautiful compact unit! - Clean, modern and perfect
Felt like home Nothing
- Yasmin (10/5): Exceptional - It was the perfect place to stay after a long drive. The unit was immaculate and so comfortable. The hosts are excellent with their communication and exceptionally generous, providing snacks, coffee, and toiletries that have all been gorgeously thought out. 10/10 will stay again.
- Nicky (10/5): I stay here all the time when in Hay. Best place by far. - Best place to stay in Hay. Quite pricey but there’s nothing better around.
- Adrian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Belinda (10/5): Exceptional - Very cosy and had everything we needed, including generous snacks and breakfast supplies. No secure carpark
- Chann (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pete (10/5): A veritable home-away-from-home; everything provided to make our stay as comfortable as possible, right down to toothpic - All the creature comforts provided, including a wide variety of snacks/drinks/fruit/condiments etc with a large screen tv in front of a comfortable lounge, perfect for relaxing with a drink watching the tennis after a long day’s drive. I’m not a fan of ceiling fans and without a/c in the bedroom found sleeping a tad difficult.
