Guest Reviews
- Luke (5/5): Passable - Very central location
Clean No air con
No internet
Uncomfortable beds
Not good value for money despite ok price
- Simtuna (7/5): Good - Very good location, friendly staff. Safe for solo travel or girl group No hairdryer. And there was no air conditioner just fan.
- Federica (8/5): Perfect location and very nice host - more facilities would make it perfect! - The host is really nice, sweet and available. The room was big enough and very clean, and the private shower and sink are very convenient. The location is incredible, few steps from the cathedral. It would help a lot if Wifi was installed and if some kind of AC was installed too. There were fans in the room but with 35/36 degrees there it was not always enough to be comfortable.
- Noemie (7/5): Good -
- Sinem (6/5): Pleasant - The location was great. It was close to all the touristic places, markets and restaurants. Rooms are very clean. The facilities were not efficient enough. There was no air conditioner in the room despite the hot weather. If you want to open the windows now you will face with the mosquitoes and construction sounds. The bathrooms are separated from the room thats why you will need some equipments on there since you are not in the room. No hair dryer, no towel bar, no small stuff used in bathroom.
- Shawn (8/5): I was very pleasantly surprised at how simple and nice it was. Really a fantastic location. - The place was very clean. The room large and airy and the location is amazing, right in the heart of Florence. The hostess was also kind and friendly and gave us great tips on where to eat. There were fans in the room, which kept if comfortably cool. If the window is open, there is a lot of noise from the street, but that is kind of what you expect when you are in such a great location. With the windows closed it was quiet. There is no elevator, so if you have very heavy luggage, you will have to struggle up two flights of stairs.
- Sabrina (6/5): Pleasant - The Hotel is lichtes very well and directly into the City Center! Easy to start from there in your City Trip The room (with external bathroom) was quite expensive for what you get! Very simple interior and the external bathroom even means to Cross the hole floor! Additionally we were woken up every Morning at 07:30 because of construction workings That were done in the hotel! If you stay there you do this propably of being in your holidays so it would be nice to have info like that before arriving or at least to have a price reduction!
- Muhammet (9/5): Was very good - First of all, the room and the all place was so clean and smelling good. Bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean. Hotel placed at a central point , 2 mins walk to Duomo. Diletta was so cute and she took great care of us. Grazie mille per tutto :) There is no wifi
- Kai (6/5): Great location and very kind staff, but be prepared for a lot of noise that does not stop. - The hotel was in a great location! Very close to nearby churches, museums, and the train station. The walls are THIN. The street the hotel is on is very busy and VERY loud until about 2am and then the noise starts again at about 5am. Did not sleep well, bring earplugs. The bathroom is also shared with a shower that leaks like crazy.
- Wu (10/5): Great place to stay, will order it next time! - Great location, very nice owner, very helpful information, very clean room, worth you paid!!! nothing, it's perfect place to stay!
- Eugenie (7/5): Good - Less facilities, like hair dryer and internet.
- Thakur (2/5): Awful experience in beautiful city Florence - Location It was really an awful experience. First difficulty is to climb tall staircase upto 2 nd floor. It is absolutely tiring to climb the steps after coming back from shopping or roaming the city.
Then the lady over there will explain all the keys ( there are in all 4 gates and 3 keys) , then how to use common bathroom and then how to switch on and off all the lights.
There is no hook to hang the clothes in the room. All the furniture in the room is old and room looks dim, gloomy and shabby.
The bathroom is big but shower area too small to even bend and clean your feet . For using shower also the lady explains the whole procedure.
Over and above all this there is no wi-fi facility in the hotel so if your personal network is weak then your communication is completely down and off.
All in all it should not be called as a hotel . Its a private apartment converted into hotel without any hotel facility.
- Katrina (9/5): Superb - Our room and all other areas were very clean. Had to share a bathroom. Not our cup of tea but it was doable. The hotel attendant was extremely nice and helpful. Not used to sharing a bathroom.
- Maya (10/5): Great stay in Florence! -
- Enciso (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (8/5): Very good -
- Medine (7/5): Good -
- Roshanak (7/5): Great location - Extremely clean room, private bathroom and excellent location. Host was very pleasant to interact with and check-in and communications were smooth. Attention to detail and guest comfort was missing. Bottled water and kettle for hot water were not provided and you cannot store your luggage after check-out. These were quite surprising even for Florence at this price point, and this is coming from a very well-travelled customer visiting Florence for the fourth time.
- Mehtap (7/5): Good - The place was clean.
Beds were comfy.
We had a shower in the room.
Location was very good, very central! We had a shower in the room but didn't have toilet, we needed to use shared toilet.
Location was so good but very noisy.
No wifi.
Lot of stairs, no elevator.
- Lana (5/5): Passable -
- Uriegas (9/5): Superb - Great location, the lady at the front desk was very kind. The location was also great and would not need public transport for most things. The walls were a little tin therefore sometimes it felt like the hotel would get loud, but it was nothing more than a mild inconvenience.
- Vicky (8/5): Very good - They were lovely, it's totally central, very secure and the owner/staff were very informative and helpful and spoke excellent English, thank you The beds move apart so although they are a big double they are in fact 2 singles and they slide apart on the flooring. Otherwise excellent
- Shahid (9/5): Superb -
- Shuhei (9/5): Nice stay - I liked the hospitality of the host, the location and the cleanliness.
Not disliked but honestly it was a bit inconvenient that they don’t have a wifi.
- Daria (7/5): Good -
- Mindaugas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Megan (6/5): Had its quirks. - Staff member was exceptional. She was friendly and informative, anticipating questions and issues that may arise during the stay and ensuring we knew what we need to do when we checked in.
Bed was large and comfortable.
The smell in the lobby was great.
Very close to Duomo.
Enjoy free samples from the chocolate/food place next door. Bathroom is bad. Shared bathroom with other rooms. Water pressure was abysmal. Windows were often left open overnight, so it was freezing.
The shower did not seem to be able to supply a good amount of hot water. Again the pressure was an issue. Water could spill out on the floor causing a slip hazard.
While shared bathrooms are fine, having toilet and shower in the same room with several people relying on the bathroom seems like an 'accident' waiting to happen.
No WiFi in the hotel hurt, particularly with limited reception in the building.
It is technically only two flights of stairs to the room. However, they are the height of four flights. Not fun with lots of luggage.
- Batsaikhan (9/5): Superb -
- Francisco (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ena (8/5): All in all it was a nice stay - The location is great, it's in the city center so everything is close by. It has a separate bathroom that only I had access to so that was nice. It had hot water all the time. It's right next to the Cettedrale di Santa Maria del Flore which started ringing the church bells at 7 am every 15 minutes. So if you're a light sleeper and want to sleep past 7am, I would advise staying here.
- Ezequiel (7/5): Fair enough - For the price it's good 👍🏻 Too much noise from the street
- Dana (6/5): Pleasant - Staff and location is perfect the room smells as if someone had smoked cigarettes there before us and there was very, very cold.
- Mzinggrace (8/5): Comfortable and clean. - Location was perfect and the staff was friendly. The room was very clean. The pillows were flat so I had a sore neck even with 2 pillows. Would have been nice if there was an extra pillow in the room. There is no elevator so keep in mind if you have heavy bags because you must climb almost 3 flights of stairs.
- Eugenia (10/5): Perfect for a city trip in the heart of florence - Really friendly and kind service.
We enjoyed our stay to the fullest.
The place and location are great.
- Keith (7/5): Fairly basic but clean and central for most sights. The host was pleasant and helpful. - Very central location. The room was clean. Due to the central location there was a little street noise. No wifi available.
- Lindsay (10/5): Highly recommend it due to the service and location! - Great room and extremely nice staff! Just prepare for the stairs, but we got used to them pretty quickly. Bed was a little uncomfortable
- Rasa (3/5): Not Worth the Price: Noisy and Inconvenient - Location was really good. The rooms were located on the second floor, requiring climbing a steep staircase with no elevator available. The room's window faced the street where stores unloaded goods in the middle of the night, causing significant noise disturbance due to the lack of proper sound insulation. Considering the price we paid, the overall experience did not meet our expectations and the room was not worth the cost.
- Philip (10/5): Excellent facility in city centre with friendly staff and the property is very clean throughout. - Excellent location, super friendly and helpful staff, squeaky clean room and very comfortable bed. Quiet and tranquil space in the middle of Florence offerng access to all the city sights on the doorstep It was perfect for our needs
- Ricardo (3/5): Disappointing accommodation! - The location was quite nice, but we encountered rude staff during our stay. It's also important to note that the hotel requires guests to walk up a flight of stairs, as there’s no elevator. This can be challenging if you have heavy luggage.
- Sheridan (10/5): Convenient, budget-friendly, and comfortable. - This hotel was exactly what it needed to be for us! The concierge was nice, detailed, and had it together. Super close to everything we wanted to do in Florence. Room was spacious, but a little loud—no big deal for the price, though. There is a fan you can turn on that blocks a lot of noise. Street noise was a little much at times, but a fan was in the room that blocked out the noise.
- Ilias (9/5): Superb - Great location, squeaky clean, great host! No WiFi
- Albert (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location in the heart of Florence. A clean room.
- L (9/5): Excellent place, so centrical. - Location and cleaning. No internet, no air conditioning.
- Ricky (9/5): Nice hotel. Great staff. - Quiet room close to Santa Maria Cathedral and the train station as well. Great hostess. We made a mistake without communicating well with the hostess. She was exceptionally nice and kind. Thank you. Nothing dislike. Just a comment. Hotel is located on the second floor. It will be challenging to carry luggages up the stairs if the luggages are packed and heavy.
- C36rtis (8/5): Best location, amazing value for money - Location amazing. Warm welcome from lovely staff. Very clean. Large open space room. Shared shower & toilet was not a big issue, never once had to wait to use. Also the rooms had their own sink which made a HUGE difference. 2 x fans in room. Our window had a great view of the narrow & busy streets of the city centre, if you like people-watching this is ideal. Street is noisy, not really much the hotel can do about that, but make sure you bring earplugs (luckily we did). No air con (though we didn't need this at the time of year we stayed, but I bet it can get hot in summer), fans may help a little. No fridge in the room - this one would be useful especially if you have a longer stay. Maybe extra pillows would be cool too, I had to fold my one pillow over to increase thickness. Also, bags are only kept until 1pm on day of departure, this can make things tricky. There is Bounce luggage storage at the train station, we used this as we had a 6:30pm train to Rome.
- Alex (6/5): One of the best locations in Florence, but you get what you pay for. - Very friendly and accommodating staff. The location for the price can’t be beat. 10 minutes after our alarm in the morning, we were ready and already strolling around Del Duomo. You do get what you pay for with this property, so the quality was to be expected. No elevator, shared bathroom and basic amenities. We were also not able to keep our luggage at the location for long after check out, so we had to cut our time short in Florence. Noisy street, but they offer fans to drown it out.
- Iwona (9/5): Prime location and great place to stay if you want to be a walking distance to everything - Location is the best if you want to be close to the heart of the city and train station. For us it was ideal. One has to be prepared to walk upstairs and share the bathroom. For us not a big deal but maybe for some.
There is no internet so be prepared.
- Ana (7/5): Good -
- Ece (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janine (6/5): Great location, clean but basic, uncomfortable beds, dramas with payment - Clean, great location No wifi which is stated, thin pillows, hard bed, shower overflowed over the floor in 1 shared bathroom for lots of rooms. No way to make tea or coffee. Payment drama to start with - amount showed as "pending" on our credit card twice, but "Transaction Denied" on their machine. Wouldn't accept their terminal was the problem - blamed our bank - after saying they had other problems the same day! Almost had to leave with no accommodation at 10pm and 760 Euro taken as credit for "payment pending" which wouldn't have been taken off. Very stressful. Try Paywave first - not inserting card!!!
- Kenneth (8/5): Very good -
- William (10/5): Exceptional - Awesome hotel great host would highly recommend
- Sofia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gino (9/5): Superb -
- Niclas (6/5): In the middle of Florens! - The location is super! Room and areas clean. 2 fans made it possible to sleep even at 38C Info package could have been shorter.
- Laylah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hannah (8/5): Nice location, lovely host and clean rooms. Would stay again :) - Location was fantastic, host was the loviest woman you will ever meet!!! Clean facilities, rooms were a nice white colour so made the room super light. Cool views of the street night life, place was nice and quiet in the evenings. No toilet in the room only a shower, sink and bidet. Poor phone service in the whole building, and no wifi. Street sounds were loud when windows were open, but fully sound proof when they were closed. No air conditioning but fans were provided.
- Erik (10/5): Lovely - As described, very clean, excellent host. Explained everything upon check in, also gave us some tips about what’s around and what to look out for. Great value No AC in our room but we knew that ahead of time so can not complain. Can get pretty hot but there was fans to accommodate the situation.
- Buslavičiūtė (2/5): Very poor - The apartment and the premises were clean, and the location is great. I would definitely not choose to stay here in warmer weather. The room does not have air conditioning, only a very faint fan for each guest, which does not help when it’s 30-40 degrees C outside. Also, it is not possible to open a window at night as the apartment is on the main street, and the music, cars passing by, and people chatting make it too loud to sleep. Additionally, it’s impossible to refresh yourself in the shower, as there’s no cold water, only lukewarm. There’s a shower and bidet in the room, but the toilet is shared with three other rooms. The toilet is in the same room as the shower, so if you want to use the toilet, you have no choice but to wait for someone to finish their shower. You have to take quite a few sets of stairs to get to the apartment (no elevator). So, it’s definitely not worth 100 EUR, except if you really need to stay right beside the main Cathedral of Florence.
- Anna (7/5): Good -
- Maurizio (10/5): Exceptional - I really liked the sight with the bell tower
- Ollie (3/5): Poor - Location was perfect Firstly, the accomodation itself was hard to find, then to walk up a couple flights of stairs to get to the “lobby”! No wifi and terrible service so was hard to do any research or booking of sight seeing, our shared bathroom was across the other side of the building and using a shower that you couldn’t actually use properly as it overflows and floods the whole bathroom! Which when it does flood you get yelled at by the owner, while trying to explain why the shower is flooding she continues to ignore you and talks over you! And lastly the main reason why I wouldn’t recommend, there was no aircon in the rooms, we had to rely on 2 fans, trying to keep the room cool in 30+ degree Celsius heat, sleeping with the windows wide open and having to listen to the noise that continues overnight and into the early hours of the morning! We then arrived home after looking round the lovely Florence to our personal belongings (clothes, bags, toiletries etc) being moved around, and the fans that were somewhat keeping our room cool during the day, to be turned off which resulted in us having to deal with a “sauna”!
Ones personal experience may not be the same for others but can have somewhat of an influence on whether they want to potentially experience the same as what we did!
- Robin (5/5): Good location but NO AC OR WIFI - Very clean and good location To sum up, it’s good if you don’t care about AC or WiFi
There was no AC nor Wifi. The owner did mention it on the website but I think most travelers nowadays take it as a default provided facility in 2024, especially when it’s 37 degrees in the summer. For the same price we found many other places that offered these without sacrificing location.
Also the owner, although nice, seemed to be a bit overstepping on the renters’ privacy (she entered the room of some girls before us and was complaining about their messiness, which should not matter when you rent out hotels).
- Leah (9/5): I would definitely stay again and recommend it, the location was simply too convenient - The location was amazing, close to popular attractions and the train station, it was super clean and comfortable and the host was excellent Only thing missing that would make it absolutely perfect is wifi availability.
- Joan (9/5): Superb -
- Olivia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Guarderas (1/5): Bad - The location of the guesthouse is excellent as everything is within walking distance. The room is large and was clean (keep in mind that the only bathroom available is shared with all the guests). There are quite a few stairs to climb to get there, which can be a bit difficult with large suitcases. There is no WiFi. Additionally, you need to leave a guarantee (pre-authorization) with your card, which many banks do not unblock immediately. These are things that are supposedly explained when booking with them, but we mention them as points to consider. However, the biggest drawback of this place is the poor attitude and service of the lady who greets you. It is evident that she is tired of her job as she gets angry over everything and easily explodes. When asked a question about something that was unclear, she raised her voice, clearly angry, and said, "I just finished explaining that." And she did not explain it again. This makes communication uncomfortable. We even found her arguing with the cleaning man, shouting. This does not create a good atmosphere. It is true that after checking in, we asked her to allow us to leave our suitcases so we could walk a bit more around the city, and she did so for 2 hours (in all the hotels we've stayed in, they have allowed this). When we returned, before leaving, we requested to use the bathroom, and she refused, saying it was being cleaned for the other guests, even though the bathroom was empty and no one was using it. She also argued that her bathroom is not a public restroom. What kind of person refuses to let you use a bathroom, especially after having stayed there and followed all the requested rules?
- Derinn (8/5): Location was perfect, very central and walking distance from everything. - The Host was very welcoming and helpful. There was no air-conditioning. Although we knew this before booking so not the hosts fault. There was fans to accommodate the issue.
- Glen (7/5): Good -
- Berkan (7/5): Good -
- Kunal (7/5): Good -
- Patryk (8/5): Very good -
- Iana (10/5): We had a wonderful and peaceful stay in a very clean and fresh accommodation! - I loved the sparkling cleanliness, the lovely fresh smell of natural aromas on the property and the warm and kind welcoming of our hostess. There is nothing that I did not like! Everything was perfect! I will definitely recommend and visit again!
- Kalina (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent property and perfect location right near the centre Florence. Staff was very lovely and very helpful. Room was very clean, quiet and comfortable.
- Alejandra (10/5): Clean, organized and amazing location. - Great location. There was no ac but the room had two fans. It was very clean and organized. It didn’t feel like you were sharing a bathroom, it was always super clean and had no problems with other guests. And the lady was extremely nice and even gave us recommendations for the area.
- Madeleine (9/5): Superb - Amazing property and perfect location right near the centre of Florence. Staff was lovely and very helpful.
- Rosy (8/5): Nice room, amazing location - Nice simple room in excellent location. Sink in bedroom, good locks in the room
- Sophia (3/5): Noisy, uncomfortable, sleepless stay. - The location was convenient for seeing the main sights of Florence being a stones throw from the Duomo. There was no AC so we were boiling and couldn’t sleep. There was no Wifi which should be a given in this day and age. The double bed was two twin beds pushed together with a big gap in the middle. The street outside was very noisy also disturbing our sleep. This accommodation ruined our stay in Florence as we couldn’t sleep for three nights.
- Zheng (8/5): Overall, this hotel left a strong impression with its excellent location and impeccable cleanliness. I highly recommend - I recently stayed at a hotel located in the heart of a small town, and my overall experience was highly satisfactory. The hotel is just a 2-minute walk from the Florence Cathedral, and there are plenty of great dining options nearby. It’s also conveniently about a ten-minute walk from the train station.
Although finding the hotel initially was a bit challenging, after asking some locals, I learned that Florence has two types of street signs (black and red), which helped me locate it. The hotel entrance is a wooden door that requires you to ring a bell to get in. You have to climb some stairs as there is no elevator. However, from the entrance all the way to the hotel, everything is exceptionally clean, including the hallways.
I booked a room with a shared bathroom, which was very clean. The only downside was that the shower tends to splash water outside. The check-in process was handled by a kind lady who explained everything thoroughly. When I opened the room, I was pleasantly surprised by its size and cleanliness—there wasn’t a speck of dust on the nightstand, making for a very comfortable stay. Opening the window, you can hear the bustling street below, which gives you a real taste of life in Florence. Despite the street noise, the room is well-insulated and quiet.
The only drawback is that check-in is limited to between 1 PM and 9 PM, and there is no luggage storage available. If these issues could be addressed, it would make for a perfect stay.

- Lea (10/5): Very clean, perfect location! - Very clean
- Jeff (6/5): Pleasant - Location, friendly host No AC, shared toilet, no decor
- William (7/5): Good -
- Andrea (10/5): Extremely central, most attractions are reachable within 5‘ - The place is super central - we had no idea, it was a nice surprise. Diletta the owner/manager is very helpful - if you need suggestions reach out to her.
The place otherwise is super clean, smells like heaven (to me at least) This has nothing to do with the property actually but that its very hard to find good food in the city (especially in the area where the hotel is) so once again, ask the manager 🙃
- Paula (3/5): Interesting to say the least. If you are looking for a one star hotel, this is the place. - I liked the location and beds were kind of comfortable. Don’t be fooled by the location, there were many things to dislike about Hotel Canada. We were greeted by the sole staff of the establishment by being lectured like school children on how to use a key, and when we did not get something right, misunderstood, or asked for clarification, we were reminded about how “stupid” we truly were. We wish that was all, we also were surprised by the lack of WiFi, shared bathroom, and lack of air conditioner in the room. If we had known from the start about these variables, we would have chosen a different place to stay in the city.
- Nathan (10/5): Exceptional - The room was very aesthetically pleasing, quiet and safe. Staff and hosts were nice and accommodating.
- Huseyin (8/5): It is ideal for few days trip lovers where you can easily reach the cathedral and around. - Location was perfect. Room was super clean. Nothing that much.
- Laura (9/5): Our stay was very comfortable and convenient with the hotel being in such a great location - The location was perfect, so close to the centre and the hostess was amazing! She was very kind and accommodating, making sure everything went well for us!
- Sean (8/5): Very good - We booked last minute due to a cancellation somewhere else in Florence and the host was very accomodating of us! We booked the triple room which was bigger than what we needed but bonus that it came with the private shower. The toilet was still shared but it wasn’t any hassle. On a busy street so it can be noisy but nothing ear plugs didn’t solve.
- De (9/5): Loved it! Clean, fresh, unbeatable location and a great value. Definitely a place I would return to - The room and hotel was so clean and even smelled fresh. The location was unbeatable. If you are a light sleeper, request a room away from the street, but I loved being in the middle of where the action is. It's around the corner from the Duoma, shops and restaurants. Another really nice aspect is that there were two fans in the room, so we had plenty of ventilation which was such a nice touch! I cannot express how happy I was with the service, location and quality of our stay. The room had a private shower, but we shared a toilet which was fine. I never even say another guest. I would 100% stay there again. I have nothing but high marks for this great little hotel
- Mário (5/5): Good location, bad service - Very well located There was no internet. It's a fact that after the receptionists told us, we checked that it was in booking, but no one expects that in current times a place to rent has no internet.
I also didn't like that people from the hotel moved my amenities and unplugged my laptop that was charging making me loose some work.
- Lucy (8/5): Very good - Fabulous location, easy walk from the station and to all of the main attractions.
- Jana (7/5): Would recommend - Friendly staff. Location. Big room. Two fans in the room. Consistency of waem water in the showe.mr
- Joanna (8/5): Central, friendly staff, spacious! - Friendly staff, the room was spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. Carrying luggage up all the stairs (but that is our fault for having heavy luggage. LOL)
- Hana (9/5): Superb - Perfect location, in centre.
- Minjoo (7/5): Overall, great stay. - Great location. Very clean facility. Located right in the middle of hustle and bustle, unfortunately it was too noisy for us to sleep in at night and in the morning. Quite a bit of stairs to climb to without a lift.
- Mohan (8/5): Basic but comfortable, and an amazing location for the price. - Location is amazing, and the room was surprisingly quiet considering how central it is. Can't complain about anything really.
- Klea (7/5): Great location, very clean, comfortable, good host. - Everything There’s no WiFi
- Dzhoneva (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect, the staff were very friendly, we will definitely come back when possible.
- Isabel (4/5): disapoiting - The location is great. I don't know about the other rooms but we got a room facing the main street - the noise is constant! The windows didn't block out noise and the street is busy at night and very early in the morning with trash trucks, deliveries to shops etc.
Also, the shutter was broken so it didn't block out the light.
There wasn't a kettle to make tea
The bed mattress is just awful (very cheap with springs)
The pillows - extremely uncomfortable
The noise in the room from outside was just very annoying
- Cotta (6/5): Pleasant -
