Guest Reviews
- Chris (8/5): - Great location and hosts welcoming facilities good and a great location in an area that doesn't have many hotels or bnbs near a great find would definitely recommend and stay again
- John (10/5): Great, location, great service, great food, hood value. - Staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Excellent, good value food. Room was very comfortable, clean and well equipped. A credit to the proprietors. We would highly recommend to others.
- Price (10/5): - Couldn't have been made more welcome.
Lovely hosts
- Nick (7/5): - Comfortable, clean, reasonably priced, very pleasant hosts, very good breakfast,
- Hilde (10/5): Prima adresje voor een stop onderweg! - Goed gelegen, midden in rustig dorpje. Vriendelijke gastheer/vrouw. Verzorgde kamer. Lekker avondeten en heerlijk ontbijt. niets
- Pauline (9/5): Nice place to stay with a rural feel. - Staff really friendly. Good vibe in pub, reasonably priced food and wine. Clean tidy room. All was ok.
- Nicola (9/5): - The Staff (and locals!) made this an excellent stay. Mark (host) in particular was very accommodating, breakfast was lush, place was clean and tidy and exactly where we needed to be for a country wedding. Very friendly and good value for money-would recommend. Being critical, the bathroom was small, but great water pressure and lovely clean white towels
- Adrian (10/5): The friendliest service I've ever received - Excellent service, food and location Nothing
- Amy (10/5): Amazing - Kay and mark were excellent hosts , friendly and helpful and went above and beyond for us
- Howard (9/5): good value accomodation in a beautiful area - Very friendly and accommodating owners, excellent English Breakfast Stairs access to rooms would be difficult for some
- Mark (10/5): Awesome value stop over in our motorcycle road trip - Great little pub for a stop over. Owners were so really friendly and accomodating. Had a great evening where they had a hog roast that night. Nice cooked breakfast in the morning Delicious and great value both food, beer and accomodation. small car park next to the pub felt secure for the bikes. nothing
- Rebecca (8/5): Great overnighter on way home from North Wales. Great location for Brecon Beacons. - Lovely hosts, so friendly and welcoming. Fantastic big breakfast, all freshly cooked and delicious. We were also lucky enough to stay the night of a hog roast at the pub and live music. It was great! Also really appreciated having a smart TV, so we could retire early and watch a movie on Netflix...
- Dewey (10/5): Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. - Mark and Kay are wonderful hosts. Mark met me upon arrival and nothing is too much trouble for them. The room was immaculately clean and the bed was very comfortable. The windows are large and so the room was nice and light. I had dinner in the pub which was also excellent and the plate plentiful. I would definitely recommend the Boughton Pub BnB. There wasn't anything I didn't like.
- John (2/5): Never again - The steak meal in the evening and the breakfast were very nice. The shower was good and big bathsheets. The initial welcome was good and helpful local information provided. The steak pie was not really a pie, but a bit of stew swimming in gravy in an earthenware dish with a loose pastry top. The gravy was flavoursome though. The room was small, the bed even smaller ( despite being advertised as a luxury double up to 1.8 m). It was more what we used to call a 3/4 bed. The room was very hot and, because it was on the corner of the main road, we didn't want to open the window because of the noise (which one of the other guests mentioned). There was no top sheet on the bed. Only a covered duvet which made us even hotter! When asked in the morning if we slept well, we replied. "No" and mentioned the aforementioned points. We were told that it was a pub. Not sure of that relevance when they are still charging £100 a night. We asked if it would be possible to have a top sheet and we were told she would try to look for one. She then went back to the kitchen. When she, the landlady, Kay, returned with our breakfast she said, "I think you should leave if you are not happy with the room". 😯 A strange attitude for someone in the hospitality business. No, "I'm sorry to hear that", or "What could I do to make the room more comfortable?", but basically, if you're not satisfied then on yer bikes. Before we arrived, we were told the locals all go to The Nag's Head. Now we know why.
- Nick (8/5): Great Hosts, loved our stay. - Brilliant hosts, we had an issue whilst we were there and Mark and Kay solved that problem with a smile and ensured we then had a really relaxing stay, room was clean and pleasant, was a bit hot but opening the window helped and wasn't too noisy outside, bathroom well stocked as was tea and coffee facilities, it is a very sleepy village with not a lot to do, but easy to get around to more livelier towns.Breakfast was very generous and tasty, filled us up for the day.
If we are ever in the area we'd stay here again in a heartbeat, Thank you Mark and Kay. Nothing.
- Mathew (9/5): - Room was spacious, comfortable and clean with tall ceilings - and soft towels. Mark and his partner were incredible friendly. The breakfast was 10/10 full English!
- Jurgen (10/5): -
- Kate (10/5): Fab landlords, comfy room and excellent pub food. - Great hosts. Welcoming and very helpful. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent- homecooked food. Bed really comfortable. Rooms bit noisy but not unexpected when staying in a pub.
- John (10/5): Good traditional style B&B at a pub - Good traditional B&B at a pub. The breakfast was made to order at the time of our liking. The evening meals are good and you can sit outside in the right weather. The room was well equipped and we were given a fan to help with the unusually hot weather. Altogether very good value for money. Look for the yew tree in the churchyard opposite. Right on the road at a junction can lead to some intermittent noise.
- Carol (8/5): Very good - Tv reception not good.
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional - Clean and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious
- Robert (10/5): Excellent will be returning - Breakfast was great, and you could ask for anything you wanted. Staff very friendly Nothing
- Lesley (9/5): Homely in all the best ways - Lovely friendly small pub, immaculately clean room, good traditional cooked breakfast, excellent value. Very relaxed and beautiful location. Nothing. It isn’t five star luxury but it doesn’t claim to be. We needed a one night stopover en route and it was perfect, and it would also be a lovely place to stay for a few days in a delightful rural location.
- Pauline (8/5): Only an overnight stay for the Hay Festival but would have happily stayed longer and explored the beautiful countryside - Lovely location in the small village of Peterchurch
Quiet and comfortable with a great full breakfast
A warm welcome and ideal accommodation for a visit to Hay and Wye and The Black Mountains

- Caroline (10/5): Excellent stay, would recommend - Staff were exceptional, all very friendly. Restaurant meals were great, offering home cooked options. Room very comfortable with complimentary tea/coffee. Nice hot shower, room warm and comfortable. TV reception was not great, probably due to the location.
Felt a couple of glasses in the room would of been useful.
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Gaby (10/5): Enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning - Owners very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and sheets were very soft. Breakfast was lovely also lots of choice for evening meals

- Nori (9/5): I loved it, would come back! Most friendly people ever. - The hosts, Kay and Mark were so lovely. They took the time to welcome me and explain everything. They went above their heads to think of things to do for me in Wales. The food in their bar is awesome, especially the cheesecake homemade bij Kay. It is just like sitting in the living room. This is the vibe from their bar/restaurant.
- Peter (10/5): Peter and Tracey - A fantastic stay, lovely food, great rooms - the staff are superb, thanks for an unforgettable stay!, Nothing
- Tim (9/5): Superb - Breakfast was delicious.
- Leanne (10/5): Was a last minute booking and couldn’t have asked for better, the owners were so welcoming and the room was lovely - Clean, beautifully presented Nothing
- Adam (10/5): Comfortable rooms in a friendly pub in Herefordshire's delightful Golden Valley - Lovely warm welcome and friendly staff throughout. We were made to feel very valued.
The breakfast was amazing. Great thick slices of bacon, black pudding, sausages, real coffee.
But the best of all was the friendliness. All good.
- Deborah (9/5): Superb - Kay and Mark are wonderful hosts who made us feel welcome right from the start of our stay. In fact it was their kind, friendly attitude and excellent food that encouraged us to stay an extra night. Peterchurch turned out to be a perfect location being quiet but easily accessible.
Thank you for a lovely time.
