Guest Reviews
- Geoff (8/5): Very good -
- Francesca (10/5): Exceptional - The location and the house are exceptional the wi-fi/tv was not working properly, but not a real minus. There were difficulties in connecting with prime, Netflix etc (due to the wi-fi).
The house can get really hot
- Lindy (9/5): Lovely light stylish home which suited our short family stay perfectly - Beautiful house, well furnished and equipped Nothing much. Outside lighting on the decked area didn’t work, even after we bought batteries
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Ruxandra (10/5): Fantastic (not so) little cottage - This has been perfect for our family of four (2 adults + 2 children). The cottage looks gorgeous and you can tell a lot of thought was put into decorating it. More importantly though, it was very clean and spacious and there were lots of little things I found helpful, such as the kitchen sink being fitted with a water filter, there being washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets provided, having a few boardgames available. I felt like the owners made notes of things that could have improved their holidays and included them here. The fact that there was a separate bedroom for the kids and the proximity to Paultons Park were also big pluses for us. We would definitely return! More of a suggestion, really - I would have liked more detailed instructions for finding it. The location provided here isn't completely accurate (though not far) and because the houses all have names, not numbers, it just came down to driving up and down the road until we spotted it. If the listing here could be updated or if they could send a Google Maps pin on check-in day, that would be great!
- Ian (7/5): Nice property, good location, but hard to find - Winsor Croft was a lovely property with plenty of space, and we enjoyed the location and how quiet it was. The property managers were very helpful once we voiced our concerns over other matters and did appreciate them being so quick to respond. We are travelers from Australia and not everyone has continual access to Wi-Fi and mobile data when travelling. As the site says the lock box code it will be provided 1 hour before arrival, and we didn't receive the code. We still had not received the lock box code when we had finally found the house, and it was a stressful time trying to find and enter the property. Signage to Winsor Croft is small and better instructions on where the house is located would have been appreciated as it took us several attempts to locate the house and there are no street numbers along this road, only house names. It would also be appreciated if an information book is provided - there was nothing to tell us what was expected at the property and how to use the heating systems, washing machine etc. Nothing about local supermarkets, or nice places to eat or visit. We eventually found the manuals but still had to work out how to use each item. Besides the usual, tea/coffee/sugar, if you are expecting any basic pantry items, then you will need to bring everything.
- Molly (10/5): Fabulous, cozy home for romantic getaway - We had a fabulous holiday in the New Forest thanks to Winsor Croft. It was a beautiful place to stay and we thoroughly enjoyed the amenities like the gas fire in the living room and the couches outside that let us soak up the sun. The bed was comfy, the kitchen was well stocked with supplies to cook, there was plenty of hot water, anything we could want was taken care of. There were even thoughtful touches like books and games for us to relax with.
- Helena (10/5): Exceptional - Location was great. I come from Southampton so knew the area beforehand. There was nothing we didn't like
- Paul (10/5): Perfect spot for a mini break in the New Forest - Perfect location in a quiet village by the New Forest. The property is lovely and cosy and has great facilities. Highly recommended!
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely property, home from home.
- Nick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the design of the house and the decor Nothing it was super
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Beautiful space to unwind - Stunning property with so much character - beautiful light from the skylights in the evening. Open plan kitchen-diner was perfect for making breakfast and dinner, and the Living room was nice and cosy in the evening. Well heated on the colder days, and the heating was easy to work out. Bedroom was very spacious, but could have done with a seat in front of the dressing table (for doing hair/makeup). Everything was very clean, with all the basics you'd need for a self-catering holidays, and lots of nice extras too. Well-situated for a New Forest break.
- Eleanor (10/5): Exceptional - A homely property with the Wow factor! We loved staying here in this comfortable and well equipped home and would definitely come back. Nothing.
- Joe (10/5): A perfect place to stay in a perfect town - What an amazing place to stay. Beautifully designed house with absolutely everything you could want during a vacation. Immaculate in every way, bed and shower were just heavenly. Nothing to dislike other than having to leave.
- Luke (10/5): Perfect - Amazing property! Wish I could take it long term ! Nothing
- Ashley (10/5): It was all we could want for and more! - Winsor Croft was a lovely home away from home, we all felt immediately settled there in the peaceful environment. It is such a beautifully designed home equipped with everything we could need! We absolutely loved it here and will definitely be returning! Nothing!
- Christine (10/5): Very enjoyable! - Excellent property all round.
Would happily stay again and recommend to others. Very minor points if I had to dig deep… a dog poo at the end of the garden on arrival. And the toilet roll holder in the upstairs bathroom fell off - tiny Allen key required to tighten it up again.
Otherwise, excellent property.
- Anita (7/5): Loved the location, layout and would go back - Location
Layout
Communication with Town or Country No info sheet.
Dining table broken and dangerous.
Lounge TV difficult to start.
Plug in downstairs bathroom sink leaks badly. Couldn’t was in sink, water disappeared too quickly.
Garden not maintained, so many weeds.
Kitchen ceiling very cobwebbed
- Shirley (6/5): Looks good, but problems with a closer look. - The location was brilliant for exploring the New Forest and going in to Southampton. The bedroom layouts -
Downstairs bedroom: you have to walk through the ensuite bathroom to get to the bed, which is not very convenient if someone is using the bathroom. It is also incredibly dark with little natural light and hardly any storage space.
Upstairs bedroom: although very spacious, it is not very private as it is open at the top of the stairs, so anyone in the lounge or kitchen can hear everything from the bedroom.
The table is broken and as it is made of glass could be very dangerous, a serious health and safety issue. This was reported but not fixed.
The shower was stuck on very hot but was fixed when reported.
The freezer door doesn't close properly.
The patio was partially roofed, and the roof over the table leaked when it rained and was constantly dripping water, so we couldn't use it.
Little disappointed with lack of supplies, all holiday accommodation we've stayed at have supplied the basics like salt, pepper, vinegar, foil etc and a pint of milk, not here just a few uht milk pots and tea, coffee and sugar, nothing else.
- Sharon (9/5): Exceptional property, definitely visit again - Facilities were outstanding, well equipped, clear communication from agency Knew pets were allowed but reminisce of dog/cat hair on sofas and blanket
- Darren (10/5): We all had an amazing time, house and garden wonderful , a great outside area and the weather was glorious, so we were v - Loved the layout of this property, it was lovely, lots of space and a wonderful garden. Photos do not do it justice , a gorgeous place. Nothing !
- Rob (10/5): Lovely home away from home - It was bigger than the pictures make it look. A stealth second bedroom which we didn’t use but is nice to have. Large garden and bbq facilities plus log fires. The Forrest is very close. Neighbours were friendly. Kitchen was very well equipped. The hot water and bath/showers were comfortable. It felt so private. The natural lighting throughout the kitchen was very good. Comfortable sofas. It was closer to a well furnished home than a holiday home. Pub near by. Nothing
- Sabeena (10/5): Great location (10-15mins to Josh New Forest locations), local community all very friendly, close to a Spar and pharmacy - The property is GORGEOUS. Well decorated and packed full of tech.
The gas BBQ in the garden was great, especially during a hot summers day, with a picnic table provided for a family feast setting.
the kitchen is soooo big and bright. we spent most of our time in the kitchen as it was warm, bright and a lovely social space.
the living room was a little darker but perfect for a cosy evening in watching films.
The house throughout was beautifully decorated! The only negative would be that the upstairs bedroom did get rather hot and the downstairs bedroom was a little colder.
But there was a fan we could use upstairs and the second bedroom downstairs had a heater in the en-suite bathroom that helped warm up the room.
- Adrian (10/5): Great place in a great location - The property is very well located and tastefully furnished. All you need is supplied for a very comfy stay.
- Kaye (10/5): Beautiful cottage in a great location. - Beautiful cottage set up with everything you need for a break.
- Joanne (8/5): Great location - stunning property! - Stunning property in a great, central location for exploring new forest Downstairs shower thermostat broken and therefore unusable! Just noticed this was mentioned in a previous review on air BnB so a bit disappointing as we picked the property due to the fact it had more than 1 bathroom!
- Nadia (10/5): Fabulous stay, great location. would love to stay at Winsor Croft again. - Beautifully designed, high spec. peaceful location. shame the 2nd bedroom so small
- Jennifer (10/5): Fantastic -
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional - Everything
- Daniela (10/5): Wonderful luxury stay - will be back!! - Everything! Gorgeous place to stay with everything we needed and more. In a great location for us to visit (& host) family in Romsey & for Paultons Park (only 7 mins away). Everything of a very high standard. Would definitely stay again. Shame we couldn’t get the dishwasher to work but excellent customer service when we had a problem with the electrics. Maintenance engineer visited within half an hour to rectify the problem.
- Maria (9/5): Perfect hideway - Beautiful hideaway
Stunning house,great facilities,clean,comfortable.
- Ian (10/5): Amazing stay! - The property is quality throughout
