Guest Reviews
- Gr. (10/5): Marvellous - Such a warm welcome, we felt like visiting long seen relatives Nothing to not be liked

- Anonymous (10/5): A Lush Respite - This was our very first experience in Albania! We arrived after a long flight, a mountain drive at sunset, and with uneasiness about not speaking Albanian. We were greeted warmly and gently by our host, who led us through the lovely stone corridor to our room. We got settled in and went down for dinner. Everything was so fresh and delicious! What a treat! And we were offered homemade raki - our first!
The hosts spoke Spanish and Albanian, so we communicated in a variety of languages and used Google Translate for anything specific.
We awoke well-rested in the beautiful stone room, took showers with great heat and water pressure, and looked out to expansive green beauty everywhere!
Our host-made breakfast was delicious, and the whole experience set us at ease. It was the perfect introduction to Albania! There was nothing we didn’t like! It is an absolutely beautiful, peaceful haven, with delicious food and lovely hospitality! I’d only say that, as Americans inexperienced with driving in Albania, it was good to be driving there in the light. The only other thing - and they may have called this out - is that the driveway to Ballkon Turi is unpaved - just unexpected but not a long drive off the paved road.
- Julia (8/5): A Charming Stay with Authentic Hospitality. - My recent stay at this guesthouse was truly memorable. One of the absolute highlights was the delicious homemade food. It was clear that a lot of love went into each meal, and knowing that most of the vegetables were freshly grown in their own garden made it even better.
The hosts were incredibly welcoming, especially the hostess. Despite a bit of a language barrier (their English isn't perfect), they went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their warmth and genuine hospitality truly made our vacation a success.
Our room was spacious, clean, and came with its own private balcony. A unique touch was the real wood-burning stove – perfect for cozy evenings. A Couple of Points to Note
While our stay was fantastic, there are a couple of minor points to be aware of. The approach to the guesthouse involves a gravel road, which isn't paved for part of the way. Also, in some of the light switches, covers were missing, exposing the wiring. This is a safety concern that should ideally be addressed.
Overall, I highly recommend this guesthouse for anyone looking for a unique and authentic experience with incredible food and heartfelt hospitality.

- Jake (10/5): Beautiful place to stay and amazing hosts 🥰 - The family were very accommodating and provided us with amazing food every night! The location was perfect - in the mountains and very scenic. It was only a shortish walk from a beautiful waterfall. Would highly recommend to travellers :) There was a storm one night so all the electric cut out but this was no fault of the hosts.
- Laerti (9/5): Superb -
- Reza (9/5): Superb - Perfect location and very kind and friendly host!
- Philippine (10/5): Experience the off beaten track village in this great homestay - This was one of our most favourite stays in Albania! Super friendly hosts, feeling like visiting our grandparents. They litterly did everything to make us feel at home. The delicious home made dinner with ingredients from the garden was so nice. And the wooden fire in the evening in our room made the experience compleet.
The hosts didn't speak English but google translate was our best friend.
The almost new road from Tirana to the village was one of the most beautiful trips we made, with very little traffic. This road trip itself was already worth to stay at this place. On our way back we hiked to a waterfall closely, which was great fun and stunning. When you're in Albania, go visit this place to experience the off beaten track village. Thank you so much for highlighting our holiday. And lots of greetings from our 10 year old son to the both of you. We wished we stayed longer here. Next time!!
- Ida (9/5): Quiet, beautiful nature,I will suggest as place to stay away from hustle and bustle of city life -
- Xhulis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jheroen (10/5): Exceptional - We really enjoyed and appreciate our overnight stay. Beautiful people, hotel, garden and lovely traditional food. When you close your eyes you feel tranquil relaxed, thank you.
- Radek (8/5): Very good - Very tasty breakfast made from local food (especially herbal tea). Clear mountain water and fresh air. Very quiet rural (more distant) location but there are a few restaurants nearaby. Close to the mountains, lakes, rivers and waterfall. Nice panorama view from the room. The hosts were very kind, friendly and hospitable.
- Gashi (10/5): It was a great place, with friendly host, great food and a cosy room. - The room was comfortable and the fireplace made it really comfy and warm. The place is very quiet and the hosts are very welcoming. The food was delicious all fresh from the village.
- Tymur (10/5): "Будь как дома, путник" - I randomly chose a direction and my first night's stay after renting a car in Tirana. It was divine intervention!!! This is an authentic stone house located in the mountains, complete with a stone bathroom and sink. The grace of waking up to the roosters crowing!
You can order a tasty and hearty natural dinner for a reasonable price. The hosts are good people; I would like to speak with them, but it's so difficult without knowing the language. Guesthouses like this are brilliant places. It's not super comfortable, but you'll remember staying here for a long time!
- Tomáš (10/5): Wonderful stay, feels like home here! - Wonderful friendly owners, they care about us like we were part of family, had great dinner here and in general we felt really good
- Aldi (10/5): Exceptional - Great and very friendly hosts, the property was very nicely decorated. Definitely will come back and recommend this
- Emese (10/5): Exceptional - The house is in a beautiful environment. We were missing some ham from the breakfast table.
- Huub (10/5): Perfect location in the mountains with great hosts! - The host couple was amazing, very friendly people who also cooked for us with fresh ingredients from their own garden. The area is without tourists, we were the only ones. People in the villages we came across while hiking were also very friendly and sometimes even surprised to see us! We did two hikes in two days and were greeted at Balkon Turi with warm meals and cold drinks. Amazing stay, would recommend to everyone 💙 Nothing! 👍🏼🙂
- Blerim (10/5): Great place to come home to after a hike - A welcoming experience from the moment we walked in. Very friendly family, clean and equipped rooms. The food was fresh and tasted like home. Would definitely stay again.
