Guest Reviews
- David (9/5): - Absolutely fabulous countryside, surrounded by nature. Total peace and quiet. Idyllic.
- Smith (10/5): Perfect very relaxing and hosts were very helpful and knowledgeable many thanks would definitely recommend and will retu - Everything it was amazing Nothing
- Rachel (10/5): Great place - We chose Snittlegarth primarily for the location, close for reaching the Northwest mountain range as we had a planned hike. Tyran lodge is one of three lodges that exceeded our expectations and our stay became just as much about enjoying & relaxing in the lodge. This place provides warmth, comfortable modern furnishings, great shower, 2 bathrooms, comfy clean beds. I loved how the sun streams through the open plan living room in the morning whilst eating breakfast taking in the views. The wild flowers and watching the horses were a joy. Also lucky enough for clear dark skies to enjoy looking out at the cosmos!
This place is an ideal place to chill out after a day on the hills. We hiked the Coledale horseshoe and Binsey (photo below) during our short stay. The start of Coledale walk is 20 minutes car drive and really worth the hike if you’re fit enough!
Easy to reach Keswick to stock up on food at Boothes.
We hope to return here to walk Skiddaw & Blencathra before too long. Nothing not to like but maybe worth mentioning that there were alot of cobwebs on outdoor furniture so didn’t sit outside.
- Christine (10/5): Tranquility. - Beautiful, peaceful location.
- Karen (9/5): Spotlessly clean, attractive accommodation in peaceful rural setting - Absolutely spotless. Everything seemed brand new as if we were the first visitors. We had everything we needed and the lodge was very tastefully decorated. The views of the sounding hills and the whole farm setting…just so tranquil and meditative. We had to drive quite far for convenience store essentials. I wish I’d been more organised.
- Gili (9/5): נשמח לחזור לחופשה נוספת! - חווה מבודדת, מיקום שקט, נוף מדהים.
יחידת דיור מצויידת ומושקעת עד לפרט האחרון. Wi Fi תקשורת גרועה
- Cecilia (7/5): -
- Andrew (9/5): - Modern, clean, beautiful scenery.
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - Location lovely, amazing views. Everything clean! Lots of room for the dogs to run about infront of the lodge. Nothing at all! I did message the host after we left and didn't get a response, but other than that it was great and we will definitley be back.
- Joyce (10/5): It was wonderful staying in the Lodges we all had a lovely time and enjoyed the weekend throughly! - We hired two Lodges to cater for the full family we my husband and I had one and our Daughter and Son and there one child each had the other. We were able to have time all together and our own time. I was my 60th birthday weekend and we were meeting friends from Australia visiting England. It was a lovely and memorable weekend and Ithe family and I will remember for a very long time. All off us said we would have loved to stay longer and have more time relaxing in the beautiful surroundings and nature. I don't think the was anything we didn't like. Maybe we could have a big lodge so we could have all been together. Possibly matrass topers just for that extra comfort our son had back troubles so ot may have been a little more comfortable for him. Every boy had a good time.
- Sunil (10/5): Exceptional - Very good property. We stayed with extended family. Used the property as a base for our excursions into the lake district. Very comfortable stay

- E.e.s. (10/5): Exceptional - We had a wonderful stay in this cosy, elegant, and well equipped lodge. The view is fantastic and we enjoyed the peaceful surroundings with the beautiful flowerbeds in the foreground and the sheep grazing on the hills. Next time, I hope we will have better weather, so we can also dine on the veranda. The owners are extremely friendly, helpful and uncomplicated. It really was a perfect stay. Thank you for everything!
- Rebecca (10/5): The most perfect lodge to spend our first wedding anniversary - Absolutely everything!!
The lodge was spotless, traditional decor with a modern twist. Lots of natural light from the many windows, that let you look out onto the amazing view.
Location was perfect, you can venture out to local villages easier enough.
The standard of this lodge from the carpets to the towels was exceptional.
We are already looking to book again!! Nothing at all! Faultless

- Hussein (10/5): One of the best locations and properties I have ever stayed in - The location and surrounding views were quite extraordinary - definitely one of the best I have ever encountered. Beautiful rolling hills around, horses feeding in the vicinity, and the peace and quiet- Superb.
Then the accommodation: Exceeded all expectations. Beautifully designed, spacious , and first class condition. Couldn't have asked for better. Absolutely nothing! The only thing I didn't like was that I didn't book a longer stay! Next time I shall!
- Kat (10/5): Exploring the Lakes - Nice and quiet. Beautiful location, saw various birds and could hear the owls at night. Perfect with dogs as had the long grass and the stream to cool down in Nothing

- Deborah (10/5): Snittlegarth Lodges - Location was great for us. The lodge had everything and even though we only stayed a few days we were very comfortable. Very clean, great amenities and little things we needed were there so great overall stay. I didn't like that the pigs 🐖 wouldn't come to me.🐷😍
Otherwise, nothing at all!
- Lee (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful area and a lovely, clean lodge I can't think of anything that I didn't like
- Ammar (10/5): This place has become a core memory for me. - The place was extremely clean. Everything that they have is of extremely high quality, from the sofas inside to the chairs outside. Even the potato peeler was very good quality. The rooms were exquisite. The views were absolutely gorgeous. If you wake up early you can see horses and sheep just roaming around. The wind was amazing. The outside sitting area is something that I enjoyed the most. It is fully equipped with a fridge and a freezer, even a wine fridge! They had provided everything included an iron and even a hair dryer. It was amazing. I am definitely going to be coming back. If I were to be extremely pedantic I would say that it’s a bit - actually no, nothing bad to say.

- Caroline (9/5): Superb - Modern, clean and spacious, had everything you needed. Great location, only 20 minutes from Keswick and right on the doorstep of one of the Wainwright's, Binsey. Overlooked peaceful fields where horses and sheep grazed. Perfect and will be back again. Thank you 😊 Couldn't fault it, just perfect 👌
- Zack (10/5): Brilliant place to stay. - Nice quiet location. Minor issue with the WIFI but was advised it was a temporary glitch and they where waiting on a phone company callout to remedy
- Sandeep (10/5): Easter break at the lodge - Lovely house at a peaceful location. The lodge had all the facilities and hosts wer exceptional. They even gave us a bottle of cava Brut to enjoy our evening.
We hope to return soon when the flowers are in bloom. Kids loved playing with the sheep amd horses near by. Its a beautiful location for magical sunrises and sunsets.
Kids had superb fun doing an easter egg hunt we arranged in the open field near by.
All. Local recommendations by the hosts were fantastic. Thanks a million to. Lauren. Xx
- Lorenzo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ryan (10/5): The best Cumbrian getaway we’ve had in years. - Superb location and the condition of these lodges offer an incredibly luxurious feel with views in all directions of the Cumbrian countryside. There are good dog walks direct from the site and Bassenthwaite and Keswick are just a short drive away. We will be definitely booking again later this year.
