• Samantha (10/5): Quirky Victorian Gem Full of Charm and Comfort - What a wonderful and whimsical stay! This quirky Victorian house, painted a cheerful shade of blue, is a true hidden gem. The moment you step inside, you’re surrounded by charm—every nook is filled with knick-knacks, cute artwork, and quirky touches that make the space feel vibrant yet peaceful. The atmosphere is calm and restful, with plenty of room to relax. The shared bathrooms were spotless and never a problem, thanks to the spacious layout of the house. The bed was super comfy, and I slept like a log. The kitchen is really well stocked, and you’re given the run of the place—it feels more like staying at a friend’s eccentric but lovingly curated home than a B&B. The code entry system was easy and convenient, and the hosts were warm, friendly, and responsive—clearly passionate about making guests feel welcome. Eclectic, artsy, and genuinely cosy—this place has soul. I’d stay again in a heartbeat. There are two houses on the same street with the same number… read the instructions so that you end up going into the correct house…. I did not do this and like an idiot ended up going into the wrong house. Entirely my own fault!

Host, Tony, made me very welcome and provided everything would make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. Lack of en-suite facilities was the only downside but as a solo traveler it didn’t really impact on me but my wife wouldn’t be happy.

• Jones (10/5): Charming Victorian house . - Me and my partner arrived a little early , Tim invited us into his beautiful Victorian home to a help ourselves to a coffee while he finished preparing our room . The house is warm, our room was spotless and very inviting, we slept like logs both nights we stayed. We were offered breakfast and to help ourselves to fruit and alcohol if wanted . Highly recommend this charming house and its wonderful generous host 😊 Couldn't find any fault at all .

The accommodation was very interesting and well presented in a great location for exploring Whitby. My wife was a little concerned that it didn't seem possible to lock the bedroom door from the inside. For example when you were asleep at night. Noise carried rather in the house....snoring fellow guest in an adjacent was clearly audible.

• Jamie (10/5): Gorgeous house, comfy bedroom and a warm welcome. A real gem! - Perfect location, just a couple of minutes stroll and you’re at the beach or town centre. The house is clean, spacious yet cosy, and the bed was so comfortable we had an afternoon nap as soon as we put our feet up! Our host gave us a warm welcome and also let us leave our backpacks pre-check in while we got our bearings. As it was an overnight stay we didn’t use the kitchen or dining room but everything was there if we needed it. No complaints! I can’t fault the place. Some may be wary about the shared bathroom but there are two toilets and showers so there were no clashes!

It's a short walk to some lovely shopping streets, loads of nice restaurants nearby. It's on old property so there are some quirks but it's part of the appeal.

• William (9/5): It was great stay will going again - I did not have breakfast but it was there if you wanted it because I went into town for a cooked one because I would be on sacks until I got home as at a steam engine show I could not find any falt at all they were very helpful it was just the parking finding a park when you back late but they did give me a parking card for the area
