The breakfast was a good mixture of local and standard fare, in the rooftop dining room (looking out over the Sea of Marmara). The hotel's location is in a quiet neighborhood, but close to the Blue Mosque and other major tourist sites. Although we were not impacted, anyone planning to stay at this hotel should be aware that the rooftop dining room is only accessible via stairs.

• Laura (9/5): Loved our experience at Dersaadet Hotel! - We LOVED the hotel. The staff is wonderful and they treat you like family. We also loved the roof top terrace for breakfast and then drinks in the evening. The breakfast was outstanding and had so many choices. The location is walkable to all of the main sites. If I were to stay again, I would be sure to book a room with a larger bed than the small double bed. Not sure if they offer bigger beds, but that would be my suggestion for those who are used to a king size bed.

Also the staff was very welcoming and helpful with restaurant recommendations, calling transportation and general questions. Showers were nice and hot. Location couldn’t be better. Lots of comfy pillows and bed. Plenty of room. Beautiful lace works on the top sheet of the bed. I would have preferred fitted sheets on the bed, but it wasn’t worth asking for those at midnight when I discovered it.

It's a cute hotel, not trying to be super luxury, just a simple sweet place to stay. Although the decor is an olden style which adds to the charm, it is looking a little tired.

Un ambiente accogliente e rilassante, perfetto per rientrare dopo una giornata intensa. Quello che però ha reso il mio soggiorno davvero speciale è stato lo staff. Accoglienti, premurosi, sempre attenti a ogni dettaglio e pronti ad aiutare con un sorriso. Fin dal primo momento mi hanno fatta sentire la benvenuta, la loro gentilezza è autentica, si percepisce che amano davvero il loro lavoro. La colazione, servita su una splendida terrazza affacciata sul Bosforo, è un altro punto di forza. Un panorama mozzafiato a cui si aggiungono le marmellate artigianali semplicemente pazzesche! It had no iron for your guests, the air conditioning was absolutely filthy and dusty. We were sneezing and felt sick after using it. The fridge was not working and we were unable to use at all to keep anything cold. Sorry but I would not recommend to friends to stay there.

From the initial, professional and friendly meeting/hotel orientation/greeting with delicious tea, to the nice room and comfortable bed and good-sized bathroom, to the wonderful fresh breakfast up on the charming terrace with those fantastic views (something to really look forward to!!), the friendly staff, a clean and quiet environment, period architectural integrity and details plus the traditional Ottoman/French decor that added to the historic feel of the hotel. Not to mention they offer (extra) a mini-sampler meal I believe until 10:30pm, which was perfect for me plus I ordered a glass of wine with it!...as I arrived later than planned after a delay at the airport plus I had a tiring long day arriving from another part of Türkiye and had no energy to go out. They also have great restaurant recommendations nearby of which one I went to during my stay and was delicious. As mentioned online, the location is close to the main sites by an easy walk, yet situated in a quiet neighborhood away from the many tourists. Shops and restaurants to explore nearby. I stayed here as a single tourist, and yet was able spend lots of time with my NY friends who were staying in another district of the Old City 15 minutes walk away. For my departure, I let them book my ride to IST airport (to catch flight for my next Türkiye destination). I stayed here four nights.
• Peter (10/5): Excellent - Second visit to Dersaadet. Excellent location. Clean and comfortable. Walking distance to Hippodrome, Mosques, public transportation, and restaurants. Excellent breakfast in view of Blue Mosque. Multiple Turkish food items at breakfast buffet. Outstanding staff, desk, housekeeping, breakfast staff. Warm and welcoming. Staff really makes for a positive stay. Always helpful. No negatives to report
• PIERRE (8/5): Très bon séjour. - L’hôtel est situé, dans la vieille ville, tout près à pied, des principaux monuments à voir. J’ai particulièrement apprécié la gentillesse du personnel, et la propreté des lieux. J’ai passé un excellent séjour, et je tiens à remercier, toute l’équipe. J’ai également apprécié la terrasse, du petit déjeuner, avec vue sur le Bosphore. On peut entendre, de temps en temps, des bruits de l’extérieur, ou du parquet qui grince, mais c’est normal vu l’âge du bâtiment.

• Gisele (8/5): Très bel hôtel. Attention aux bruits extérieurs. - Bel hôtel très bien entretenu . Très bien situé à 5mn à pied de la mosquée bleue . Belle terrasse pour le super petit déjeuner. Le bruit extérieur venant de la rue . Une bouteille d eau à l arrivée mais plus rien pour les autres nuitées.
• Igor (7/5): Sonst kann man in den Hotel einen schönen Urlaub machen. - Zentral gelegene Hotel, alles zu Fuß schnell erreichbar. Beim Frühstücken sehr schöne Aussicht. Die Badausstattung wie Duschtrennwand und die Duschkopfbrause waren in sehr schlechten Zustand. In der Zimmerbeschreibung soll Bügeleisen und Bügelbrett rausgenommenen werden, da nicht vorhanden. Mir persönlich fehlte etwas Wurst zum Frühstück.

• Nicholas (9/5): Lovely place to stay in Istanbul. - The breakfast was wonderful, the staff polite and helpful, the location couldn't have been better.
• Andy (7/5): Comfortable stay in a good location. - Location is good for hagia sophia and topkapi palace. The hotel is in an old Ottoman style building, charming, but old. The staff were polite and helpful. Lovely view from the terrace, simple breakfast included. Bit pricey for what it is, in the second part of my trip I stayed in a different hotel for similar price but better facilities. Still, not complaining much, as we had an enjoyable stay.

• Mari (9/5): - Second visit after 15 years, good quality and hospitality (every staff, kind, helpful and knowledgeable) of the hotel is the same or better! Breakfast at the roomtop area with the sea view, and well prepared and very tasty Turkish style breakfast. Located in the top tourist area, the access from the hotel to the tram station is always full of cars, isn't easy to walk.
