- Edwin (6/5): a decent ‘value’ stay an hour drive up the hill from Los Gigantes - quaint. it is a rehabed old inn with a shared kitchen and common area in a town that is up a winding route. a new ‘super’ highway connecting travelers to the southern resort area of the island is near by. the restaurants in Santiago del Teide are nearby a bit dank. black mold is visible on the ceiling above the shower. the common area is an echo chamber.

- Liam (1/5): Very poor - It doesn’t have many standout advantages, except that it’s relatively affordable. This stay was an extremely disappointing experience. I booked a family room with a private bathroom, but the room was furnished with two bunk beds. The upper bunks were so low that we kept hitting our heads and couldn’t even sit upright—everyone had to either lie down or climb onto the top bunk just to sit straight. The metal frames were also of poor quality: any small movement from the person on the top bunk made the entire bed creak loudly and shake constantly.
There was only one window in the room, and it faced an indoor common area. Late at night and even around 4 a.m., people were still active there. The thin, translucent curtains let in a lot of light, making the room extremely bright—as if someone were repeatedly turning the lights on and off. As a result, none of us were able to sleep the entire night.
The room was also very damp, with a noticeable musty smell as soon as we entered. To make matters worse, there was a strangely deep skylight in the room. Early in the morning, condensation started dripping from it onto the bedding and the floor.
The entire apartment accommodates around 12 groups of tenants but has only one kitchen and very limited shared dining space. It was impossible even to make a cup of coffee in the morning or have breakfast in the apartment—we basically had to pack up and leave as soon as we woke up.
I will upload photos showing how bright the room was at 4 a.m., as well as the leaking skylight and the dangerously low bunk beds.
If you have the budget, I strongly recommend avoiding this place rather than choosing it just because it’s cheap.

- Denis (8/5): - Good location to go to the fantastic Masca hike , 5mn drive from the bus stop.
Easy parking.
Lots of terrasses to lounge, have a BBQ, watch the sunsets.
Well fitted communal kitchen.
Wood suit a group as there is a spacious hall and communal dining room. The shower entrance was too small to get in. Would fit a child or a S size adult. The bathroom was tiny with nowhere to put toiletries but on the floor.
Not enough plugs: we had to unplug the bedside table lamp to charge our phones.

- Kristýna (1/5): Rozhodně nedoporučuji. Špinavé a vlhké prostředí, nešla elektřina a v místnosti bez oken je to docela problém, člověk si - Vůbec nic Špinavé a vlhké prostředí.
- Nadir (9/5): -
- Jana (10/5): Excelente - El hotel es agradable, limpio, seguro, camas cómodas, wifi trabaja perfectamente. El encargado del hotel es muy amable. Definitivamente volvería a quedarme allí.

- Martinez (8/5): -
- Lukas (9/5): Superb -
- Dayanne (8/5): Stunning views - It was a nice room and amazing terrace. Unfortunately, I was not able to get a signal, but there is wifi inside the house.
- Georgi (6/5): Pleasant -
- Daan (5/5): Passable - Room was small and falling apart. Hallways pretty noisy. Beds are comfortable and they have an electrical heater in the room to keep you warm. All in all good for a night sleep, since there's limited options in the neighborhood. But definitely way too expensive for what you'll get.
- Carolyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kathy (7/5): Small but clean - Good location for the bike rides we wanted to do. Not very near any restaurants so required a half hour walk there and back.
Very small bedroom
- Barbora (5/5): Passable -
- Daniel (3/5): Avoid staying here unless absolutely necessary. An uncomfortable and unpleasant experience. - It was very clean but otherwise there wasn’t much to recommend. The location is bad for a start, in a tiny village with no shops or restaurants. I only stayed there as everywhere in Santiago was fully booked. My room smelled of mould and although it had an AC controller it had no AC unit and got really hot in the night. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable, the WiFi was weak and intermittent and there were no members of staff present upon arrival to help show me around and explain how things worked. It’s a bizarre layout and everything has been made on the cheap so it’s very noisy with doors slamming and voices echoing. It was unpleasant, inconvenient and frustrating. I feel sorry for the cleaning staff who at least kept the place clean and tidy.
- Thales (10/5): Exceptional -
- Romina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (6/5): Pleasant -
- Radim (8/5): Very good - Nice location in silent village. Bus stop is near. Good shared kitchen. Easy check-in/out process. Kind people. In room was blinking light from wifi repeater (we covered it and it helps).
- Carol (10/5): Exceptional - Exellent hosts lovely and clean much more than I expected thank you so much I have no complaints it was perfect
- Nathaly (1/5): Bad - Quite isolated: no mini market, cafe or restaurant.
Basement room: really dark, teeny tiny window
Smell: there is an issue with the pipes. The whole room smelled so bad that it was hard to sleep.
Internet: there is no WiFi in the room and we barely had network connection even in the terrace.
Terrace: very uneven stairs and no lights at night.
The place has a lot of potential, as the views are truly magical, but their focus is clearly overcharging people for a very poor service, not making the utilities and spaces pleasant.
- Lana (10/5): Exceptional - beautiful location with mountain view /
- Luca (4/5): Disappointing - When we arrive, there was nobody there although the time of arrival was approved.
Next we did not have a window with fresh air, cos the window was on the corridor next to the bathroom, which means, no fresh air, light during the nights and noise from others...
- Maksym (6/5): Pleasant -
- Antonia (2/5): Very poor - Sunset lodge has a really nice terrace. The rooms are really small, there are no chairs in the room, so nothing where you can lay down your stuff.
The community kitchen is poorly equipped. 1 pan for all the guests. In the fridge seemed to be a lot of forgotten food. Nobody is cleaning that. I also found a pan with old oil in the cupboard. That would all be okay for me, if the price would have been Lower.
- Matěj (1/5): Worst accomodation ever - The only positive was remoteness of the place. It was quiet there. I can't believe this kind of room can be offered. There was terrible stink in the bathroom, moisture in the walls and mold. No soap refilled. Dirty toilet as a welcome surprise. No window.
- Jonathan (7/5): Good -
- Clemence (4/5): Disappointed - 75€ for a room that is not even 8m2. WTF. Squeaky bed. Inside window on the stairs, so all night you would have the lights coming inside the room. And SOOO Noisy. You could hear people downstairs, on the other side of the hallway, or showering. I made a claim and they offered 5€ back. LOL.
The terrasse was dirty.
- Mehmood (2/5): Very poor - Health and safety was poor no one there when you arrive at the property bedding change once in 18 days only one pillow per person I have asked for another pillow I didn't get it. no washing up liquid pervided I asked for it was refused so each guest must bring own washing up liquid for common use kitchen. People leave left over foods in fridge and go back but no one dispose this food for weeks and it's health issues. No staff working at property only on cleaning lady coming when someone moved out she change bedding and go no fire safety devices and in case of fire no staff to help. When you call owner you will be lucky if he answers your call. Booking.com also told me that they tried to call owner but no reply. I have waste money and 18 days come back home very disappointed booking.com waste of time when I made my complaint out come was not good enough. I will not trust booking.com because they should have checked property management and property meeting health and safety standards and owners have safety certificate for building which I do not accept this property sunset lodge have. I have put everything above
- Michał (7/5): Good - Location was nice, near Masca village. Around 30 min. by car to famous and great places on South and North no shop and no restaurant in neighbourhood
- 1rene (3/5): An option for a short or transit stay with nice sunset view - Location of the guest house is very good if you are going to visit Masca, go hiking or you are a biker.
Good quality of WiFi. Though there is no mobile connection in the room at all, at least you can use internet. Unfortunately there is a huge amount of things which should be fixed or eliminated.
1. The room: too small space, it`s tight, stuffy, dark and with only one window at the corridor. The worst thing - there is plenty of mold and fungus at the wall, not good for health at all. There is no option to ventilate the room.
2. Shared kitchen and bathroom: too dirty, the fridge is full of old stuff with bad smell. Bathroom cabin damaged.
3. It`s really very cold in the whole place, especially at the hall. If you are sitting and working there, be prepared to wear sweater or two.
4. Sounds: walls are not soundproof, so you will be hearing everything what your neighbours say or do. The last night of our stay was sleepless because of people having party at the roof terrace.
- Karolina (7/5): Nice quiet location, good common facilities, great rooftop. - The rooftop of the property was amazing, you can watch amazing sunsets and have fresh breeze air during a breakfast. In our room unfortunately the bathroom apparently drain stank terribly all day, night. That was very uncomfortable we had to keep windows open. At the same time there were no bedsheets only blanket and pillows which is unusual.
- Daniela (6/5): Pleasant -
- Helga (8/5): Very good - Super quiet house with a shared kitchen on the mountain with a large panoramic roof terrace. Small apartments are well equipped. The walls are not in good condition, but the price-value ratio is absolutely correct and it smells good. It could be heated. The kitchen is like home. There is no cafe or shop in the village, but Santiago del Teide or Tamaimo, which have everything, are a few kilometers away.
- Tomasz (8/5): I liked it! 100% recommend! - Beautiful area, nice views, big terrace. Owner of the property was very nice and kind, if we had any problem he was there to help us. I would recommend Sunset Lodge to my friends. Shared Fridge, maybe it worth to think about tray’s for each room. Then space would be designated, and things will not go missing. We had wine in the fridge and someone took it. Not residency and owner fault, you just can’t trust any people now.
- Malgorzata (10/5): Great place for bikers, trekkers and nature lovers. - Very comfortable, quiet place. Well equipped kitchen. Nice rooftop terrace.
- Kristjan (8/5): Very good - Location is very good. In the booking it promised mountain view but that was not accurate. Kitchen and fridge cleaning could be a bit better. No soundproofing.
- Luka (3/5): Poor - Modern room, nice view from balcony. Unresponsive owner, no check in instructions when we arrived. Not nearly enough hot water. Wifi connection in the room was poor. Bad experience with the shared kitchen.
- Andrei- (10/5): Exceptional -
- Piotr (8/5): Nice stay with beautiful sunset - Beautiful sunset in front of the balcony placed on the roof . Perfect spot to sit , open wine and relax. Small room but cozy and clean. Perfect place for travel in teide park. Kitchen with everything. Area to eat . For me IT was without the meaning but the city Has many non comfortable streets. Very narrow. Not so many parking spots.
- Alessandro (8/5): Very good - Great location with a spectacular view from the terrace N/A
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonas (4/5): Disappointing -
- Charlie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Josh (7/5): Good -
- Judith (4/5): ok for 1 night, but only if you have a car - The cleaning lady that was there when we came was very nice and helpful as nobody was there for check in and we didn’t receive any information about our room/ keys…
the Terrasse is very nice The location is very remote, no public transport or anything. we did not receive any information about where to get our keys / which room
we are in or Wi-Fi.
also you can hear everything from the kitchen and our room had no window
- Ola (5/5): Passable - Helpful owner and nice landlady
Electric heaters in rooms
Peaceful village in the middle of nowhere( although no public transport, no shops or anything there)
Raisonable price Poor wifi quality( you MUST have wifi there, because the place is out of phone range)
Drops in electricity
Acoustic- unfriendly house( you will hear all your neighbours from the other end of the building)
Some of the rooms doesn’t have window( feels a bit claustrophobic ;))
- F. (6/5): Pleasant - Owner was friendly. Place was clean. Wifi. Bed was comfortable. Storage for bikes. Room had no window. Felt cold and damp .no heater, or at least not turned on .. Too isolated with no where to eat unless you have a car to drive to local town .No taxis so not suitable for bike packers .Had to sleep in our clothes to stay warm. The weather was extra cold so a heater would have been great. No hairdryer. Basic facilities with a shared kitchen . Nice hostel like facilities if you are prepared.
- Martin (3/5): Never more - Easy booking Our tiny room had no Windows, only a small opening in the ceiling which we didn't manage to open. The sink in the shower spread an ugly smell not just through the bathroom, but the entire room. No bathroom window, no hangers to hang up your shirts, bedsheet uncovered. The owner said the high pricing of 107 Euros for 1 night is the responsibility of Booking.com and didn't give signs of excuses. We called the client service, they excused and wanted to get back to us which did not happen.
- Parvu (6/5): very beautiful island, amazing differences between mountain areas and beache areas. - it was a place to sleep. can not Say “I like that, because…” It was a place to sleep. we intended to go around the island and stay where night catches us, but this was not possible. it is very difficult to Find accommodation at a decent price in the last minute.
the place has a kitchen (we did not use, so…), a large commun area in the lobby, and PARKING SPACES (this is a great asset here) It was us in the mountain, so…
1. it was cold outside and the room has a sort of heater, electric heater, on the wall. it succeded to warm up pe room only after 3 days of working. there was tiles on the floor so cold that I had to put my feet on the heater before bedtime, to warm them up. no way to stay barefeet.
2. the room was very, very small. there is not a chair, or something to sit on, except the bed. No table, no nothing. all the furniture we has was a bed, a wardrope and 2 nightstands.
3. the bathroom was smaller than the bedroom. the shower was so small, my husband barely fitted in. everything was so small as we were in a dwarfhouse.
4. and the cherry from the top…the internet connection worked only for 7 minutes at a time. after that, we had to reset it, for another 7 minute, and so on. after 2 days, the owner started to repair it but for us was too late. we checked-out.
overall, was ok but further Away from what we expected
- Alexander (8/5): Very good -
