- Patrick (10/5): Our stay at this beautiful historic hotel by the old Venetian port of Chania exceptional - We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful historic hotel by the old Venetian port of Chania. Special thanks to Georgios and the entire staff for their warm hospitality and for making our stay so memorable. Every moment felt special, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Finding a parking
- Andreas (10/5): - The view ! Everything was fine

- Laura (9/5): -
- Raissa (10/5): Highly recommend! - A great location with a beautiful view! Only a few minutes walk into old town and the harbour, many restaurants and shops. It’s an old building but it’s all very clean and well cared for. The staff are incredibly welcoming and they truly go the extra mile to ensure you have a great stay!! The best hospitality we’ve ever experienced! Wish we could have stayed longer :)

- Michelle (10/5): Lovely hotel with stunning view of the Venetian harbour - Great small hotel in a fantastic location in Chania old town, just a few steps from the Venetian harbour. The view over the harbour from my third floor room was spectacular. Very clean and well equipped rooms, and the most friendly and helpful staff I've ever encountered at a hotel. George is a star, he really makes you feel so welcome and gives great recommendations for local restaurants. I would definitely stay here again. It's a historic building so there's no elevator.
The shower is quite small in the single rooms. These things didn't bother me at all but they might not suit everyone
- Barwick (10/5): - Very good weekend stay at Helena Hotel. Affordable price and everything in the room was exactly as advertised. Staff were really friendly and the room had an amazing view of Chania. Strongly recommend!
- Karolina (10/5): -
- Ella (10/5): Stunning spot in Chania - Wonderful view across the old town, super friendly host, a lovely retreat away from the busy streets
- James (10/5): Superb hotel in Chania. - Excellent location, superb view, very comfortable bed.
Georgios was very helpful, lots of recommendations for my short stay in Chania. Highly recommended. Nothing. For me, everything was good.
- Ads (10/5): Really nice room overlooking the harbour. Great location - Gorgeous view. The stairs! Finding a park for the car and walking back
- zacharias (10/5): - George upgraded me to a double room .The view of the habour was amazing one of the best views on the Island
Also my room was very nice cleaned every day. Nothing
- Ana (10/5): Highlight of my trip. What a view and what an amazing staff! - The view is just amazing and well worth the money. The staff is simply fantastic. So friendly and helpful. I spent the check-out morning chatting a lot with the receptionist and even got to practice my nearly non-existent Greek and a bit good ol' receptionist therapy as well.
Everything was super clear and well taken care of. The owner seemed like a genuinely good person. And yes, the view was probably the highlight of my whole trip The single room is kind of small, that's true, but it didn't bother me much. I had some very noisy neighbor as well, but luckily they calmed down past ten in the night. In general, the experience was just amazing. Ah, just as a reminder, there is no lift, and the good views are on the third floor, so if you have a very heavy suitcase this can be a problem.
- Helen (10/5): A lovely, traditional hotel ideally located close to Chania’s harbour! - A fantastic location for sightseeing in and around Chania. Yards from the harbour, this was an ideal, quiet place to stay. George was a fantastic host, welcoming, extremely knowledgeable and couldn’t do enough to help us. Thank you Hotel Helena! N/A
- Otto (10/5): -
- Fergus (9/5): Fantastic! - No Breakfast included, there are a plethora of excellent nearby eateries so not important in the hotel. Stairs, but we accept is an historical old charming building with lots of traditional features, the staff were very helpful but perhaps it might help to highlight the vertical access challenges?
- Kevin (10/5): Friendly relaxing hotel - The ambience of the hotel, the location, and the very friendly and helpful staff. No complaints.
- Johan (10/5): - Uitzicht + personeel + faciliteiten Badkamer was oud en douche zat los
- Gabriele (8/5): -
- HARUYUKI (8/5): nice hotel - stuff gave me useful map, AI can't tell me such nice restaurant. local hotel owner know nice restaurant. It's impossible to expect the comfort of a modern hotel from an old building in a historic area. Instead, enjoy the atmosphere. That's what I did.

A disposizione ogni gg acqua , caffè e The.
- Evie (9/5): Most enjoyable stay in Chania! - Beautiful location, very comfortable rooms and wonderful views to the old port. The staff were very friendly and gave us some great recommendations for food, drinks and beaches too!
- Gaston (9/5): A wonderful hotel, with a truly excellent host, set in beautiful picturesque town. We highly recommend the hotel. - The proximity to the port of the old town was excellent, there was a nice little view from the window. The old town is teeming with life and energy, and it was a quintessential euro summer experience to wander the streets at night and eat alfresco, with window shopping. Our host George was outstanding, his recommendations for food were impeccable. The old town does not allow cars. There is all day parking that is a few hundred metres away but it can be a challenge to find a close park in the evenings. This is not really a problem but If you have heavy luggage bear that in mind.
- Nathaniel (8/5): Its in a good location and good room. Friendly staff - The location is very close to the touristic area and the staff take their time to explain to you the necessary information I cant complain
- Bartosz (10/5): Świetna lokalizacja i genialny personel 🍀🙌 - Lokalizacja i personel Brak
- Josef Gatt (9/5): - Hospitality and location Nothing
- Lukas (9/5): - Sehr schönes Hotel, super Lage
- Caracciolo (10/5): - La cordialità di George, assoluta!
Posizione ottima e struttura pulita Niente

- Kyrranne (10/5): The Helena Hotel is located in the perfect location in the alleys of old town Chania. A short walk to the old port and q - Being in the alleys with an amazing view in old town Chania. Having no lift.
- Stylianos (9/5): Superb -
- Ervis (10/5): Amazing location! Staff extremely helpful and welcoming. -
- Paris (9/5): Superb -
- Khawer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marian (10/5): Exceptional - The View from last floor
- Lisa (10/5): Very relaxing - The location was great and view from my room was amazing. George and Thissa were very helpful with suggestions for places to eat and things to do and always great for a chat The stairs were hard but worth it for the view
- Angelos (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, pretty and functional rooms, the owner is extremely helpful, sociable and gave us great recommendations around town.
- Mel (10/5): An exceptional hotel overlooking the port - friendly and helpful staff. Perfect for solo travellers - The location was exceptional; it was one street back from the old town, in a charming, narrow stepped street that looked like a film set. The hotel was small, clean, and the view from my fourth-floor bedroom on to the port was outstanding. The windows were I think double-glazed, so I slept very well. The bed was bigger than I thought it would be, with an extremely supportive mattress. The manager, George, and the lady on reception, were incredibly helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them. George gave me excellent recommendations of where to eat, and excursions I could do, double-checking bookings I'd made and making a better and cheaper alternative booking for me for another excursion. I was impressed that everything worked - from the hot water to the TV - and there were tea/coffee making facilities in the bedroom that were renewed each day. It was a very comfortable, welcoming and safe place to stay. There was nothing I didn't like.
- Amedeo (10/5): Amazing stay. Lovely staff - Everything was perfect! Amazing place with an amazing staff. 100% recommended. Incredible view
- Ema (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect! The area in which the hotel is, is very picturesque and so is the view, probably the best view in all of Chania. The host was very polite and friendly, he made great restaurant recommendations when I asked him to. The room was perfectly clean and very comfy. As a woman traveling solo I personally felt completely safe in the hotel and the surrounding area.
- Kathleen (9/5): Charming property, beautiful harbour view, friendly staff. I loved staying here! - I had a fabulous view over the old Venetian Harbour, good air conditioning, a fridge, tea/coffee making facilities and clean room, and a comfortable bed. The hotel staff were very friendly and attentive. George offered helpful advice on places to eat, showed on a map how to get places with accurate time estimates, and suggested things to see and enjoy while I was in Chania. On returning to the hotel, he greeted me and asked me how I enjoyed the day or dinner, making it feel like I was coming home. With just 7 rooms, the hotel was quiet and personal - excellent for a solo guest travelling by public transport. Visitors with mobility issues should be aware that, as a historic property in the tiny alleyways of the hillside of the old port, there are steps in the street and no lift in the hotel. For those who can carry their own luggage 200 metres from a taxi drop-off near Talo Square and walk stairs, it is a charming and welcoming home away from home. Getting to the Central Bus Station and to the Market building bus stop where the tours pick up and drop off are each less than 15 minutes' walk away, making it a convenient location. As a historic hotel, they've had to squeeze showers into tight spaces. If you want a luxury bathroom, you may be disappointed. If you are content with functional and clean, you'll be fine.
- Vincent (10/5): Great staff and location, pleasant stay - A very nice small-sized hotel in the beautiful centre of Chania. The staff (Giorgos and Chrysoula) incredible nice and helpful and they know a lot about both the city and the island. The location is excellent, literally few metres from the sea, within the narrow and coloured streets of Chania. The facilities such as the good television are also very good. For those who are looking for an authentic experience in the straits of the colourful city of Chania, I would definitely recommend Helena Hotel!
- Nikolaos (10/5): Exceptional - It is an old venetian restored building with excellent view at the port. The receptionist is really freindly and helpfull and provides you with various information regarding the restaurants in the region.I would definetely stay there again if I ever visit Creta again.
- Katya (10/5): Completely confirm all of the positive reviews. Amazing service, facilities, perfect location, plus it’s quaint and auth -
- Barbara (10/5): Loved Chania and my hotel - The location was ideal. The room was large and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Nothing I didn’t like
- Nick (10/5): Exceptional - Great location and view. Room was of good size and staff were very helpful! They helped me plan my engagement proposal which was an unforgettable moment. Shower was small and leaked into the bathroom getting water everywhere - not a big issue but just worth noting.
- Yariv (10/5): great - great location very nice people. very helpful a little bit fur from the free parking. because it's in the old town
- Phil (10/5): Perfect spot to stay in beautiful Chania - Absolutely beautiful view of the old Venetian port from the room. Room was bright and spacious. Perfect location in the old city. Not too far to walk to free parking if you have a car. Great cleaning job done each day. The staff are so friendly and could not do enough to help you with recommendations on what to see and where to eat. The coffee and breakfast at the nearby " the botanist" were exceptional. The photos I have added are from the room we stayed. Note that being in the old town there are stairs so you need to be OK about walking stairs. Also the shower was fairly tight for space so may not suit really large people.
- Adrian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hannah (10/5): Wonderful charming hotel in beautiful old alleyway with stunning view of the harbour - It couldn’t have been a more perfect hotel. It’s located in the perfect part of the old town, among beautiful old alleyways, and a little bit back from the more touristy parts of the main port. It felt very authentic and charming, and booking the room with the sea view was spectacular! George was so helpful with offering options for checking in at 4am and meeting me leave my bags all day! He also helped with organising taxis. The room was spacious and very clean, with simple but modern furnishings. I loved waking up every morning to the beautiful view of the port! I would love to come back. The mini fridge was a little bit noisy but I unplugged it and then it was fine for me to sleep :)
- Meldoughty (8/5): Great staff and location - I had a wonderful sea view
Staff were very friendly and helpful with check in and travel arrangements
Really good to have a fridge in the room as breakfast isn't provided
Great location in the old town but was also very quiet
Close to restaurants, bars and shops Bathroom was fine but could do with updating - shower enclosure is quite small!
No lift in the building so if you are less mobile the third floor (although it has amazing views) could be challenging...
- Karen (10/5): Amazing place to watch the town! Views!!! - Amazing view!!! I just stared at it all night and morning. Also George was so kind and very helpful!
- Tanya (10/5): Perfect base in beautiful Chania - Wonderful host George gave us lots of great tips. The room was clean and spacious with nice bathroom. The location was in the old town within walking distance of all main attractions. Nothing really. Would have like breakfast included but we knew that ahead of time.
- Peter (8/5): Very good - Great helpful advice and practical arrangements by George the manager.
- Levon1971 (10/5): Welcoming stay in Chania - The profesionalisme of George and Chrissa was evident from the beginning. They took time to recommend the nearby restaurants and assisted me in my various questions, and always going above and beyond. The location of the hotel is 10/10 and the view from my room was even better. Cleanliness and functionality of the room, excellent.
Thank you, Helena hotel

George, the receptionist, was so helpful and friendly as giving us a map with notes he made for us with recommendations.
The cleaning stuff was also amazing.

Everything else was fine, just as you'd expect from an accommodation in an the old city building, very close to the sea.
