Guest Reviews
- Allison (1/5): Never stayed due to being cancelled - The room got cancelled at 8pm the evening of arrival
- Lee (1/5): Bad - They never got back to me and couldn't stay
- Oliver (8/5): Very good -
- Carolynn (5/5): We felt that as a ‘Luxury’ apartment it general is very tired. - The carpets throughout were in need of a clean. The plug in the en-suite sink was broken, the toilet seat in the ensuite was wobbly.
There were no cleaning cloths or tea towels in the kitchen.
- Leo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Denise (9/5): Superb - Beautiful apartment. Very in depth instructions to get key. Great view over the city. Walking distance to centre.
- Mark (6/5): Not a bad stay. Few issues marred it though. - The apartment was clean and modern with lots of space and a large Kitchen/ living area. It definitely served it's purpose throughout apart from a few issues ( see below).
Communication with owner was good and I have to assume he will rectify the issues as he requested I inform him of such as I discovered them.
It is in an excellent location for heading into city centre and there is parking very close either on street or within a ( chargable) car park. I am going to recommend to anyone booking this apartment that whilst it is a nice place to stay, it is advisable to try and check in during daylight hours( which we tried to do) as the key collection process is daunting enough without doing it in darkness. And in fairness, the videos that management sent for check in- whilst helpful- I am going to suggest you perhaps re film them in daylight hours to give a better first impression? Nothing more alarming than being told to walk down to the end of a dark alley to then faff about with fiddly key boxes to locate keys!
In our case made worse because our keys weren't even in the box we were told!?! We were then sitting in our car waiting to hear from someone and eventually had to leave for our function so couldn't check in when planned.
When we did finally hear back, we were told the keys were in a different lock box entirely so by the time we were finished our function, guess what? Yes, it was night time ( sigh).
Anyway, we got in and discovered a few other annoying issues which we did share with the management. A few horrid stains, wardrobe doors not sliding on one side and a pretty low quality mattress.
But our two main issues being the shower door in the ensuite is off the runner and dangerously close to falling out and the main bathroom shower has the on/off tap missing. So two showers - great - but neither fully functional. Far from great. As I said, I'm hoping this will be rectified for the next guest.
Oh, and good luck to those who leave a little make- up on after your day because there is a Wee warning sent as part of the check in, stating: NO MAKEUP LEFT ON BED SHEETS OR TOWELS (extra charges will be took).(sic).
Jeepers.....good job I don't wear any and my wife brought along extra cleanser!
P.s. luckily someone was kind enough to mention this in reviews so we brought our own pillow cases too!
- Megan (6/5): Beds ruined the experience - Great location & very clean apartment The beds were awful, mattresses had springs poking out of them and the bed base also damaged
- Eddie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (7/5): Good base if you’re out and about exploring. - Great location.
Spacious Needs a lot of love! Eg there is some damp, missing lampshades, loose lock on the front door.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claire (7/5): Nice apartment - It was a lovely modern apartment. Great location and all that you need The bed was awful . It was like lying on the bed base . The mattress was done 10 years ago . Bedding wasnt the cleanest . Water damage in the living area
- Ann (3/5): All I really want when working away from home is a decent bed to sleep in and a tv to relax watching after a very busy d - We felt safe. The worst beds we have ever slept in or not as was the case.
The internet did not work, which meant we not only didn’t have the necessary internet to complete work, necessitating trips to Wetherspoons to work. The owner just responded “no internet and it won’t be put on “. We couldn’t watch tv after working meaning we had to go out each night.
- Karen (7/5): Good - The apartment was large. The location was close to the city centre and other shops and facilities. The entrance was secure. The apartment was quiet in the evening. There was a smart tv and free WiFi. I think things like milks, a tea-towel, and kitchen towel should be provided. The beds need replacing, I could see and hear the bed springs. The dishwasher needs a deep clean and I couldn't find any dishwasher tablets. The curtains smelt of dust and need a wash.
- Richard (8/5): Comfortable and clean apartment, not far from the city centre - Very prompt and clear instructions on how to get the keys and access the apartment.
Spacious, comfortable and clean. Beds could have been comfier - you felt the mattress springs.
Curtains could have been thicker to keep out the morning light.
- L. (1/5): By mistake I bring the key with me . He charge a amount and says when u send me back I’ll return u - Ok
- Elinor (7/5): A good base for a short trip to the city for work or pleasure - Good location for staying for a few days for work. Comfortable walking distance from the rail station and access to groceries and a range of food take away/restaurant within an easy walk. On street parking available after 5 and overnight which works if you have a hire car and are out during the day. Apartment has simple but good facilities, and comfortable place to spend the evenings. No ironing facilities (as listed) which was a challenge for work visit. Mattress is aging and can feel the springs which was uncomfortable after a few nights. Alternative parking if you need to park during the day is close but expensive.
- James (5/5): Nightmare - Not a luxury apartment. There was no Wifi so no tv the owner is misleading customers as the description says Wifi. The owner eventually admitted it was broken. After staying one night we decided to leave and book a hotel due to the owner offering a full refund we have never received the refund and out of pocket as we paid for the hotel and he will not answer my calls now Very poor.I have saved all correspondent between us and now sent a complaint to Booking.com.There are a lot of people hang around this building outside at nights be carful
- Faye (8/5): We would stay again as it’s ideal for the city, we told the owner about the negatives - Close to city , safe No hairdryer as stated , no toiletries as stated, tv remote not working so couldn’t watch tv
- Nathan (8/5): Great location and apartment few minor changes and it would be great - Location and 2 bathrooms Beds were uncomfortable and very springy woke up and whole body was sore in morning and no TVs in the bedrooms that would be a good addition
- Kyle (10/5): Great stay, ideal location, clean and modern apartment - Great modern apartment N/A
- Stephen (8/5): Grwat appartnent , shame about the mattresses - Clean modern apartment in good location close to city The mattresses in both rooms need replacement.Springs are very obvious make for an uncomfortable nights sleep.
- Julie (3/5): Location was good - host was rude - It was clean Unsafe key collection
No welcome pack
No inventory or guide to staying there
Unhelpful host
- Diane (9/5): It was a great value and place was very large. Kitchen was excellent. - The main bathroom shower was slow to drain. The key pick up after dark was not pleasant- back end of alley, trash and graffiti didn’t make it feel safe. Had to use flashlight to see key codes.
- Margaret (10/5): Exceptional - Apartment was really clean had everything in it you would have at home from hairdryer to washing machine also not far from city centre.
- Zoe (10/5): Great location, great host, lovely modern appartment & clean. - The appartment was great, Sam our host was really helpful and communicated with us well. We didn’t notice an ironing board - this would have been helpful but it wasn’t a big issue.
- Lyons (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachel (7/5): Good - Great location Mattresses awful
- Viktória (9/5): Superb - Super easy check in. Apartment is very nice, spacious and everything was very clean.
Very nice stay
- Lana (10/5): Great - Everything was great apartment was spotless.. owner was lovely to deal with and replied very quickly for any concerns.. will definitely be back next time decide to go to Belfast
- Tania (9/5): A really lovely clean apartment, good facilities and a great location. - Property was really lovely. Lots of room. We travelled as two friends but two couple would have been more than happy there too. Location was great. Out of the very middle of the city to be quiet but only 10 minute walk and you’re at city hall. It was great to have the balcony to sit out on. Apartment was very clean and tidy. The whole building is very well maintained and looks just like a hotel on the inside.
The host was in touch with all the instructions we needed to get the key and get into the property. Whilst the instructions to get the key were relatively clear, we still struggled to find the right box. We ran into others staying in other Appartment’s (I don’t believe with this host) having the same problem. When facing the building entrance, go down the street to the left hand side. Go to the end where there is a big blue gate (there was a crane in front when we went). There are then key boxes on the left hand side of the wall and also both sides of the gate. The wall they are on doesn’t feel to have anything to do with the Appartment building so it’s a bit confusing. The host also checked in a couple of times to make sure all was OK, which was much appreciated. We will certainly look to book here again for a future visit.
Couple or additional tips- there is a fabulous little cafe around the corner called Roasty Toasty open 8.30-14.30 which serves great coffee and fantastic breakfast sandwiches.
The Visit Belfast shop across from City Hall has a luggage facility so you can still spend your last day without having to lug around bags if you’re not leaving straight after you check out.
- Keith (8/5): Very good -
- Franki (9/5): really enjoyed our stay. would definitely stay again - property was very spacious and clean. we loved the balcony! the wifi was not working and there were no simple amenities like shower gel
- Charlotte (8/5): highly recommend! - great location. walking distance from bars/restaurants/shops/cinema etc. the view from the balcony was lovely. the recliner couches were very comfortable and the shower was great. great communication with the host. one of the beds seemed to be broken, it had a dip in it but i let the host know and he is getting it fixed. the neighbours were quite loud late on the Saturday night from outside the apartment, was kind of hard to fall asleep because of that.
- Shawn (8/5): Amazing location, size and facilities. Only downside is the bed. Would stay again! - With just two of us the place was quite spacious. It is in an excellent location for getting around and the facility was quite secure. The other bonus was the washing machine which after a few days, came in real handy. The view from the balcony was very pretty. Also, he was incredibly quick with getting back to us. The bed sucks. There is no way to sugar coat it. You can feel the springs through it. We just grabbed the duvet from the other bed and slept on top of it.
- Chakhouskaya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (8/5): My stay in Belfast - Lovely and clean modern great views over the city We where told address 55 ormeara rd we could not find that but the apartment had a big sign on it saying Portland 55 the name of the property if we where told that it would have made life easier, Also little things like no bread knife no salt pepper tea or coffee no instructions how to turn the towel rail or dishwasher on
- Jonathan (10/5): Fantastic stay -
- Benjamin (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (9/5): Superb - Quiet,Clean, spacious, facilities, balcony, bathroom quality. Location 1 mattress had some springs broken, probably needs replacing, but still usable.
Owner kept in touch.
- Rebekah (10/5): Had a Brilliant stay, very close to the city centre, apart -
