Guest Reviews
- Janet (8/5): - Spacious and excellent location.
- Angela (9/5): Superb, locatie fantastica ! - Locatia este in apropiere de Ponte Vechio, la o distanta de 5 minute. Este foarte spatios si decorat vintage, ne-am simtit ca acasa.
Martina, gazda noastra a oferit toate informatiile necesare cu profesionalism. Nimic
- Debra (9/5): Great location, super square footage and solid amenities - Huge apartment for Florence-could sleep 8.
Large eat in kitchen with larger refrigerator, separate living room with fireplace, separate dining room and bedrooms were up a couple of steps and away from main living areas for privacy and quietness. Elevator worked well and location convenient to all attractions in the Oltrarno area and the Ponte Vecchio. Will stay here again.
Attentive staff, clean facility and a washer for ease in extended stays. Loved it! Temporary construction work on Lungarno diverted traffic down Dei Bardi but should end soon.
- Elvira (9/5): Siehe oben. - Wohnung großzügig, sehr angenehm, gut ausgestattet. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten gut erreichbar. Zu empfehlen. Wasserdruck in den sonst sehr angenehmen Badezimmern.
- Luigi (10/5): Our second home in Firenze; we'll try to return all our trips - The apartment is spectacular, very spacious, very well furnished, you can live there for long time as at home nothing, just simpler way to cast streaming to the TV
- Caroline (6/5): - A good sized apartment. Plenty of space.
We stayed for 6 nights. Location was terrific. We stayed in many apartments around Italy during this trip and our longest stay was at the Bardini Garden Apartment.
It seemed the apartment was not prepared fully for our 6 night stay. The kitchen was poorly equipped with minimal equipment. No moka pot for coffee - this is Italy after all! There was a coffee pod machine, however no pods supplied. It was necessary to wash all glasses before use. I would have expected more than 1 tea towel and 1 used dish cloth. We were staying 6 nights after all! No tea, coffee, sugar, milk, garbage bags etc supplied.
The apartment sleeps at least 4 people, however not enough toilet paper was supplied for 3 people and no tissues at all. Lots of lamps and lights throughout the apartment and many light globes not working. The beds were made up with sheets only - no blankets or doonas supplied at all. We found some doonas in the armoires, however, there were no doona covers.
For those travelling in winter - please note there is a washing machine but NO dryer.
For those travelling in summer - please note there is effective airconditioning in the bedrooms but just one airconditioner for the enormous living areas and kitchen, and it's not very effective.
Poor communication from the owner. I sent 2 SMS messages to the owner in 6 days and no response at all! The only time the owner contacted me was when they were chasing the city tax.
There is currently scaffolding on the outside of the building and renovation work in the apartment above. We understand this cannot be controlled by the owner, however some prior warning would have been appreciated. Jack hammers and drilling into masonry early each morning was quite a disturbance.
All in all - a comfortable stay. But I would urge the owner to be generous in providing guests with the basics, ensuring the supplies cover the duration of stay.
- Juan (9/5): The apartment was spacious and close to everything! - The apartment was spacious and the beds comfortable. Additionally, location was great! A place was little cold and there was not heating allowed until November 1st per local government ordinance; We ran also out of toilet paper.
- Joan (6/5): Overall a very nice place to stay except for the construction. - The apartment was easy to access via the lockbox and we were able to get in a little early which was very helpful. The location was also convenient and it was a quick walk across the river. The hot water heater was not working when we arrived and the team was very responsive in coming to get it started. There was alot of construction on the street & in the apartment above us which led to much noise between the hours of 9 & 5. You couldn't be in the apartment during those hours.
- Mark (9/5): Excellent location and accommodation for a visit to Florence. - Bardini Garden Apartment provides an ideal location for a visit to Florence, especially for visiting sites on the opposite side of the river from the historic centre (such as Pitti Palace, Boboli Gardens). The apartment is within easy walking distance to a wide selection of restaurants in the vibrant Oltrarno area of Florence. The property is exactly as promoted (accurate photographs) on the Booking.com site, so it met all our expectations. The host was very responsive to deal with a problem we encountered (when there was no running water to the apartment). Arrival and collecting the keys was trouble-free. The host was excellent at providing advance information to prepare us for arrival, complete with contact phone numbers and photos of where to locate the key lock box. The apartment is well outfitted with everything you need for a comfortable stay, including solid reliable wifi, and air conditioning for those steamy Florence summer days. If you are planning a stay at Bardini Garden Apartment in the near future (as of Sept. 2024) be aware work is underway to repoint and repair exterior brickwork and roof tiles. While it doesn't interfere with anything within the apartment, be aware there is loud noise (drlling, hammering, etc.) during the day, six days a week. So there will be no sleeping in! 😁 The water pressure in the apartment is low which can make taking a shower a bit frustrating. It is a shame all the windows are nailed shut. It would have been nice to be able to open the windows to have the nice evening breeze through the apartment. The apartment could have been cleaner upon arrival. It was quite dusty (although that might have been a result from the brickwork being done on the exterior of the building).
- Sandra (10/5): Beautiful clean apartment in the ideal location to explore Florence. - Stunning apartment in beautiful building. Great location. Furnished nicely. Very spacious. Nothing. Everything was great
- Shlomo (8/5): Very good -
- Jorge (8/5): Huge apartment close to the city but behind a major building restauration in front. - Good location and huge space. There is a very noisy construction in the apartment front start working at 6:am. Lack of day light illumination. During the full stay there was a mosquito invasion.
- Jeannette (8/5): Very good -
- Jeff (8/5): A lovely very large and well located aprtment that was tastely decorated and furnished. - the apartment was huge and probably the biggest 2 bed apartment that we have stayed in. It was very clean with huge rooms......It was easy to get lost lol. The location was well positioned for most of the attractions and close to the Ponte Vecchio bridge and just across the road from the Bardini gardens. Most attractions are within reasonable walking distance.
It also is equipped with high speed wifi. It is a traditionally styled apartment with some large furniture to suit the huge rooms. Another benefit was a modern lift to take you to the 3rd floor which was very welcome after walking around Florence all day. When we arrived at the apartment, there was scaffolding outside and building work going on, on the floors below.....the apartment is on the 3rd floor. Initially the noise was intrusive on the day we arrived, but fortunately quietened down on the remaining days of our stay. We appreciate that older buildings will always require repair work or modernisation to be carried out, but it would have been nice to have been informed of this before we arrived, so that we could have had a choice?? As it happens we were delighted with the property and would have still booked it. We rated it as a 4 star property however if attention was carried to upgrade some of the kitchen features and also to some minor features in the bathrooms it would easily become a 5 star property.
- Jade (9/5): Superb - Such a beautiful apartment!! We really loved the feeling we had of an authentic stay in Florence. A very short walk to the main area of Florence, we loved walking into town and around the area. We also loved the shutters that opened to reveal all the other apartments along the street and their views. The hosts gave us great instructions for how to get into apartment. Gorgeous place! The key was a little challenging to get the hang of to open front door but once you figure that out you will be fine. One of the bathrooms smelled really bad so we just kept that door closed and didn’t use it.
- Angela (6/5): Medieval marvel in the heart of Firenze - The location near Ponte vecchiio was pretty good and the bedrooms were spacious. The lounge room was very comfortable and I loved the chaise lounge. Also loved that it had a full size fridge and washing machine Unfortunately we found the 1st bathroom was in disrepair no hot water and shower head was broken also the toilet seat was also broke ln
I’ve stayed in many air bob’s around the world and I was surprised that the apartment didn’t have any tea bags or instant coffee or any sugar or milk as a minimum
- Tracie (6/5): Fabulous location and apartment which had the potential to be awesome if it was cleaned properly and on time. - Fabulous location! Easy to get to, short walk from car parks (long walk from train station), local cafes and restaurants are fabulous, 5 minutes walk to Ponto Vecchio. The apartment is big! 2 large bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, great living spaces (if you want stay in apartment, but why would you… Florence!).
Check in was easy and communication was quick We arrived 2 hours after the organised time and the cleaners had only just started, so after travelling, we left our bags and went straight out to give them time to finish.
Bathroom not especially clean and linen had been cleaned but was stained. This is expensive accommodation, which you don’t mind paying for location, but expectations are that we can use the apartment for the full time and that it’s clean (bathmat not replaced from previous guests and was dirty).
Noise - construction work across the street starts early (be aware).
- Jane (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment was huge, more like a house.
It was very central to everything but still in a quiet street. Beds we’re comfortable and good quality linen & towels. Communication with our host was fantastic.
- Nader (6/5): Great location and price, lousy housekeeping. - The unit itself is very well located and easy to move from here to the center of the city with ease. The elevator worked just fine and the unit was easily accessible. The rooms are all as big as they looked in the pictures and the furniture is all in good condition. The a/c worked well, so long as you used it in conjunction with closing the shutters during the day. The kitchen has nice, functioning appliances and there is lots of space to spread out. The unit was dirty. The housekeeper had clearly been there when we arrived, due to the bag of used bedding that was on the front doorstep. However, the unit itself was not clean. We walked around in white socks that were quite brown by time we took them off that evening. We suffered from mosquito bites every one of the four nights we were there. We thought it would stop after the first day, when we could be sure the windows were kept closed, but it was just as bad every night. We discovered the last day that the guest bedroom had no glass in the windows, just wooden shutters. Perhaps that was the source.
When we arrived at 3PM the first day, we called on the host, Ilana, as the towels they provided were all mismatched, some had stains on them and none of them smelled clean, they smelled like they had come out of an old storage cabinet. The host acknowledged our concern, but didn’t replace the towels until 10AM the next day. I include pictures of the towels and the bath mat, which appears to have been white at some time, long in the past.
The next time we heard from the host was three days later, when we were to leave. They asked how the stay had been, but only as a prelude to ask that we do them a favor and leave the city tax in the lockbox outside. A fitting end, as it meant the host didn’t have to go upstairs and see how dirty the unit was, just pause in the street, take their money and move on.
I previewed my concerns to the host, who did not seem much phased by any of these issues.
It’s sad, because this unit could be so outstanding if someone would just put that little bit of extra effort in. This host certainly feels no motivation to do.
- Vladislav (9/5): Gorgeous old-style classical Firenze apartment - The apartment is gorgeous - huge, located in a centuries-old building, with antique furniture, clean and convenient There were some issues at check-in, but they were solved reasonably quickly
- Maureen (8/5): Beautiful old apartment with everything you need at your fingertips. - Perfectly located for all major attractions and viewpoints. Large apartment with space to move around. Light, cool and airy. Nothing
- Carlota (10/5): I loved it! - The host is super nice, the apartment beautiful and great location
- John (10/5): Exceptional - The location
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Iglika (10/5): Excellent luxurious apartment in the heart of Florence - The apartment is enormous, with luxurious antique furniture and situated in the heart of the city - very close to Uffizi gallery, Ponte Vecchio and Pitti palace. The host was very kind and let us check in early. There are numerous restaurants, coffee places and a supermarket close by. We enjoyed our stay very much and highly recommend the apartment!
- Kersti (9/5): Superb -
