Guest Reviews
- Louise (8/5): - Great location.
- David (9/5): Love Bowness and would definitely use this property again - Perfect for two people in a great location Slightly tricky access to the parking space if you have a larger car but okay providing you take your time
- Peejay (8/5): Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would stay in this property again. - The property was spacious, clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. Excellent location, a short walk to shops and restaurants, and bus stop. Located on a quiet residential street. The private parking was very convenient, only a metre from the entrance so unloading the car couldn’t be easier. We liked everything about the property but have a few observations that could improve it.
The main observation is that the bath flexed when standing in it having a shower…a bit alarming! The bath is not properly supported underneath and could potentially crack when standing in it as it is under strain. This would not be the fault of the person standing in it, but a result of weakening over time.
The backs of the wardrobes were damaged or incomplete, looked a bit of a mess.
Floor level kitchen cupboards had no backs (don’t know if this was some or all…didn’t look at them all).
Entrance would benefit from having an absorbent longer rug to stand on on entering. We had some rainy days (not unknown in the Lake District), and rain water soon pooled on the floor.
The only other thing to mention was that at some times during the day, late afternoon, loud footsteps could be heard above. This didn’t go on for too long or too late or too early so wasn’t a bother to us, but best to be aware of it prior to booking.
- Judith (3/5): Not disabled friendly - Bowness is lovely shame about the property Not disabled friendly, lane to property uneven, pot holes needs resurfacing really badly, not suitable or safe to use electric wheelchair, luckily walking sticks brought. Bath showe screen needs replacing, also no rails to help with bating transfers. Better directions to get to property needed. Sofa to low for someone disabled, also bed way too soft
- susan (10/5): Great location central to bouness. - Very modern and clean Directions to the property wasnt very clear plus found we couldn’t open key lock we had to call for help found we where staying at the back of the property.
- Yvonne (10/5): -
- Mackin (8/5): Not a totally accurate description - We didn't realise how dark it would be inside after the kitchen. The lounge would benefit from having extra electrical sockets and lamps rather than having bright ceiling lights on all the time. Would make a nicer atmosphere in the evening. Some ceiling lights in the lounge and bathroom need replacing. The clothes rail in the bedroom is very unstable. This property would also benefit from having a nice dressing table and a teapot. No welcome pack despite being advertised on your listing. There are no instructions as to how to enter the flat or how to operate the heating. When returning to the property after dark, the ground is rough underfoot and is completely unlit until you actually reach the property. This property is quiet until people are in the property above. On the plus side, this is a spacious and well equipped flat.
- Joseph (9/5): Superb -
- Oliver (8/5): Great spot to be and easy walk to all good locations - Easy to get the keys, not sure why reviews say it was hard the instructions are very clear. My huge truck fit on the drive even though it says only for a small car which was nice. Great location, the host come to solve any little issues fast which weren’t even a big deal. Worth the money for sure. Nothing I disliked, if there was an issue it was solved fast
- Dyce (9/5): Great! - We loved the comfort of the property & the location was perfect. Kitchen well equipped.
Smart tv system was great.
Christmas tree was a lovely touch. Unfortunately the boiler wasn’t working upon arrival however this was quickly rectified.
*Small criticism, there wasn’t any washing up liquid to hand wash dishes.
Besides that, amazing stay!
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Kay (9/5): Superb -
- Navid (8/5): Lovely Apartment needs finishing touches and ceiling insulated against noise from upstairs - The apartment is very luxury feel though still needs work to be finished. Big TV with Netflix activated. Lovely living space and all you need for for cooking including a fridge freezer and dishwasher. Comfortable very large bed. When you first arrive you will end up knocking on the door and searching for the key. 30 mins later we discovered by searching an Ally behind the house is the actual apartment and key lock. There is nothing at the front to indicate to go around the back via an ally.
It seemed the apartment has some unfinished touches with not enough power points and one waiting be installed and another hidden behind a large leaning mirror against the wall. It is not insulated for sound from the house above a you will hear every foot fall as people move around (We had a family of 8 above us when there and so was a lot of noise on the ceiling).
The Bedroom could do with a TV in there and there is a mounting in place for one but seems not fitted it as yet.
- Gamston (10/5): Lovely place to explore the lakes. - Location excellent. Stylish and comfortable apartment
- Susan (1/5): Bad - THIS IS NOT A BAD REVIEW OF THE APARTMENT... We did NOT stay here. We booked through booking .com. received full confirmation. Booking fee had not been taken. Sent several emails to determine why then got a reply to say the apartment wasn't available. Too late to book anywhere else.
