Guest Reviews
- Hardie (10/5): - Friendly staff and set up of ground floor areas Stairs but they changed our room second day to ground floor so helpfull
- Judy (9/5): Lovely overnightstaywithwarm ambience - It’s setting, style, excellent food and service Small but comfortable room
- Hoang (9/5): -
- Peta-Lee (8/5): Tranquil and beautiful - Love the character of the building and the staff were absolutely lovely Nothing that I can’t think of
- Brian (10/5): -
- Nerida (8/5): Great location for golf with Golf Club next door. Make sure you request a renovated room. - Nice comfortable renovated room No shampoo and conditioner containers. No shelf in the bathroom only a cupboard
- Lynette (8/5): Great spot to stay if you love playing golf. - Location to golf course. Refurbished rooms. Lovely lounge area.
- Lachlan (8/5): -
- Amanda (3/5): - The staff were great. Very friendly and helpful The room was terrible. The bathroom wasn't clean, and was so small you couldn't move in the shower without hitting your elbows on the walls. The towels were about the size of a hand towel and very worn and hard. The bed was supposed to be king size, it wasn't. There was a kettle in the room, but nowhere to plug it in. The heating was a radiator, which couldn't really be controlled, so we had to sleep with the window open so that we didn't suffocate. Our room overlooked the putting green, so we were woken each morning by golfers swearing at the shots they missed. The restaurant got the food orders wrong on a couple of occasions, and had very limited options. We were staying for a wedding nearby. If not for that, we would have left to go elsewhere.
- Michelle (10/5): We had to have an early check-in due to an early wedding, nothing was a problem - Beautiful scenery
- James (9/5): Great weekend away - Awesome location
- Victoria (10/5): We will be back! - So friendly and homely. Super comfy bed and delicious food.
- Peter (9/5): -
- Reece (7/5): Great staff and location. - Staff were really good and very helpful. Being right on the course is great. The chicken schnitzel for dinner both nights was one of the best I had. Was only a buffet breakfast during our stay. It was poor and did not justify $30 cost. Hence we went elsewhere for breakfast from then on.
- Geoff (9/5): most enjoyable - Breakfast excellent. Yoghurt & fresh fruit would have been a bonus. Good weather so sitting outside onto deck was wonderful room amenities eg shower gel
- Robert (8/5): Uplifting stay for work in Southern Highlands grand charm and hospitality - Bar staff very accomodating especially later in the evening after returning from dinner Parking proximity to rooms
- Neil (8/5): Comfortable - Beer on tap Take cash and not just card only
- Suzanne (9/5): Good place to stay and very convenient - The scenery of the golf course
The old building and photos on the wall
Comfortable bed Breakfast was good but cold as there were not enough staff
Bed was small
- Claire (10/5): -
- Frank (4/5): Not really value for money - Good location, well known vintage property on a golf course Lack of basics: for $240/night, we saw (1) no chairs, (2) only a couple wall mounted cloth hooks - leaving us with no option but putting most stuff on limited floor space (potential safety risks), (3) a TV set on the side wall that is not practical for viewing, (4) only two pieces of soap and a bottle of shampoo in the shower
- Shane (8/5): A great place to stay in a peaceful location - Dormie house was very clean and comfortable. There was a minor problem with our room on the first night and we were upgraded for the second night. The staff were accommodating and friendly The minor problem with the room that I mentioned above
- Tiffany (6/5): - the cleanliness of the room could have been improved.
The shower was dirty with scum all behind the door, behind the blinds on the window had all dust and dead bugs and the kettle was gross! had scale build up on it was would go into you cup when you tried to make a tea after boiling the kettle
- Jude (10/5): -
- WIlliam (6/5): Great stay for a night. Enjoyed unique blend of historic building with modern character. - Dining and bar facilities overlooking golf course lined with autumn leaves and clear sky was our highlight. Historic property had a great character but also had some limitations on sound proofing between levels. We were able to hear voices and footsteps from upper room.
- Paul (9/5): Please relaxing place to be where so many people were enjoying themselves withou imposition on other - Breakfast was just fine. Coffee was ideal Booking was difficult and I could have had breakfast included.
- Linda (6/5): -
- Karel (7/5): Dormie House - April 2026 - Amazing location and fantastic vibes. Super comfortable bed and very clean rooms - refurb project absolutely did its job. Walls are a bit thin - you definitely can hear loud noises!
- Fern (10/5): - Great, friendly staff! Amazing comfy bed and beautiful outlook from the deck over the greens.
- Katy Yang (8/5): Great value, clean rooms. - Clean rooms, great value and nice property. Our room was quite small with limited space for luggage.
- Mark (8/5): We will return but be cautious about the room location. - Staff were very friendly and room was excellent. and spacious.
Bed was very comfortable.
Parking was easy.
Deck was great breakfast location. The menu for dinner and breakfast was very limited. But no surprise because it was clear on their website.
Avoid Room 30. It overlooks the carpark. The carpark lighting was on all night. and even with the blinds down leaves the impression it is morning so no real sleep.
Minor point but a decaff option would be good for in-room coffee.
- Suzanne (7/5): We will be back next year and would recommend to others. - The staff were generally very friendly. From check in to check out apart from an issue with dinner, everyone was great. The rooms were warm and clean and overall we had a great time. Overall the accommodation was great with the exception of the shower. We were in one of the last rooms upstairs and the hot water was unpredictable. It would loose temp to the point of just being warm. Not good on cold Moss Vale mornings. We also were very disappointed with our dinner booking. We had pre-booked for 11 guests for dinner on the Saturday night and when we arrived we told that we were being put in one of the back rooms. The table was not set up, the air-conditioned was not on and the room was very cold. When staff were approached to rectify this they couldn't get the A/C to start. This went on for some time (at least 45 minutes). When we asked is we could move into a warmer area we were told that area was booked out. No one turned up in the warm area. It was a disappointing night.
- Natalie (10/5): Comfortable and very close to Moss Vale Main Street - Loved the original building, rooms were quaint and clean, very comfortable. TV in room very small and not a smart TV. That’s all
- Giulia (9/5): -
- Eliza (9/5): Lovely and clean. Beautiful grounds - Stunning venue. Free golf putting area, games. Great decor. Extremely clean
- Dana (9/5): -
- Joel (8/5): . - . .
- Susan (1/5): Disappointing. - I booked a room here and was phoned and told the next day that they didn't have a room available. Very poor on Dormie House's part. We had stayed several times prior. I did cancel this booking to make sure our money was not taken. So we never stayed here and wont ever again.
- Kerrie (8/5): - The person on the desk was extremely helpful and friendly. He offered me a choice of rooms. The bed was amazing - so comfortable. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is offered onsite which is great. All staff were friendly and helpful. As l was on my own, l did watch TV in the evening. I was surprised the TV didn't support Apps, so l couldn't log on to anything. Added to that, the TV lost connection and the channels had to be added manually. The staff did this once and then l had to do it again - all channel 10 channels were missing. The downlights flickered badly intermittently. These are small things and everything else was great.
- Danielle (7/5): Comfy facility - Great location. Comfy bed. Lovely lady on front desk. The night crew left on the light outside attatched to a temporary kitchen ,that was meant to be turned off and the outdoor generator was also left running all night. Both disrupted our sleep
- Sharon (10/5): Very convenient location as I was marching in Bundanoon next day - will stay again! - beds were comfy room was very clean loved the heated tiles in the bathroom ! Easy check in and check out. Nothing it was all good..
- Teresa (9/5): A pleasant stay - Loved the old style but it was fresh and rooms were very modern and new Lovely out side seating on the deck - Wagu burger was yum
- Chia-Min (7/5): - The mini fridge in the room was broken and unusable, which made it quite inconvenient for us to bring our own food, and there was no microwave oven to use.
- stacie (8/5): -
- Julie (10/5): Very comfortable. - Clean, restaurant on the premises, quiet.
- Saul (10/5): -
- de Smeth (8/5): -
- Michelle (8/5): Had a nice stay location was good only a 10 min walk to Main Street. Just be mindful when booking to go for King Deluxe -
- Jody (10/5): -
- susan (10/5): We will most definitely be coming back - Everything Nothing
- Lauren (10/5): Charming stay with the most friendly staff - The Dormie House is so charming, the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the facilities are well kept and clean. Staying on the golf course was super convenient too. Would absolutely recommend staying here.
- Georgina (10/5): Great stay for a concert in the Bowral vineyard - Loved the relaxed atmosphere and the staff as well as the location and the scenery. We had lunch and breakfast there as well and were very happy with the tasty food we had. N/A
- Georgina (10/5): -
- Warren (8/5): - Old world charm.
- Dean (9/5): Lovely historic guesthouse. - Lovely guest house in the Southern Highlands. It had lots of character. The room was excellent. We booked a room with a queen bed and a single bed. The single bed was actually in its own room off our room, which was absolutely perfect for us. Would have loved to stay longer. Will definitely go back. Can't think of anything.
- Rod (5/5): Not what was expected. - Old charm, friendly reception. Clean room. Room was clean and comfortable, however, the room was advertised as a 'Deluxe Queen Room' and was extremely small, no room for even a chair, no cupboard hanging space (a couple of wall hooks). Toiletries were limited as was tea and coffee.
- Maher (8/5): Overall a comfortable 2 days - Comfortable Shower hot water was barely long enough
- Jason (9/5): -
- Jennifer (10/5): -
- Mark (8/5): -
- Wendy (6/5): If you are on a tight budget and only staying 1 night, I’d recommend. If your goal is to have a relaxing weekend escape - The proximity to the town was a short drive
If you’re a golfer it’s great Rooms are teeny tiny
- CHU (7/5): -
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Johnathon (10/5): -
- Sharon (10/5): -
- Matt (10/5): -
- Greg (6/5): Clean but poor. - Quiet and food at the restaurant was very good Bathroom sliding door was unhinged. We asked for it to be fixed and nothing happened.. The bathroom was tiny with no hanging. Power point in cupboard where the fridge was difficult to access for the jug. No light in this cupboard to access any thing.
- Daniel (8/5): -
- julia (9/5): -
- Craig (7/5): -
- Amelia (7/5): Good for a short stay! - Food was good at the restaurant. Beds were comfortable. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony overlooking the golf course. Bathroom was on the smaller side. Under staffed on the day of check in and check out. Room was a little untidy.
- FADDY (7/5): Very enjoyable - Rooms were nicely renovated and very clean.
- Michele (9/5): Thoroughly enjoyed my stay just a shame their dinner menu was minimal I believe due to a fire recently - An amazing older building which has been tastefully renovated Nothing to not like
- George (2/5): I will not be back. - Not very much Being asked to pay $ 230.- a night for room No 12
- Greg (10/5): Loved our stay.......would stay again. - We were given an upgrade. The room had recently been professionally refurbished. It was large with an exceptionally large king sized bed. Breakfast wasn't included in the price but was also exceptional. The staff were extremely friendly. I'll get back to you with this one.
- Lyndey (8/5): Extremely comfortable and pleassant stay - Staff all delightful, especially breakfast. Breakfast was excellent -fresh, well-cooked. Room and bed extremely comfortable. I would have liked herbal tea bags in the room
- Cathrine (10/5): -
- Rod (8/5): Clean and comfortable accommodation considered very acceptable for shorter stays. - Older style property with smaller rooms but perfectly comfortable. Very clean and with good public areas within a good setting. No issues with anything, given older style nature of property.
- Zhao (7/5): -
- Ross (9/5): Best value for money in a great, quiet location. -
- Anne (10/5): Lovely stay with helpful staff that accommodated all our requests - Lovely old building with a lively view out over the golf course . Quiet and amongst the trees but central to town. Room was small but very co sortable for 1 night
- Kristina (10/5): Loved the atmosphere of Dormie House and the wonderful location. - Fantastic location on Moss Vale Golf course. Staff super friendly and helpful, booked again to stay in Autumn 😀 Unfortunately the restaurant was limited due to a recent fire, how they did their utmost to provide a menu that was available all day and the food quality was excellent.
- Debbie (10/5): Very happy - Was very surprised how lovely the house was. Great value for money. Parking no problem. Lady at front office very friendly. Very happy thankyou
- Sujaya (8/5): -
- Guest (8/5): Clean and up to standard - Plenty of onsite and off-street parking. Staff is friendly and helpful. No complimentary bottle of drinking water.
- Samantha (10/5): -
- Ingrid (2/5): - Room location was terrible
Above the rear of the kitchen with debris everywhere with no outlook no ability to have the curtains open I requested another room and was told nothing was available. Restaurant wasn’t open and I hadn’t been advised. Generally extremely disappointed.
- Young (7/5): It was all good except for the shower - It’s right on the golf course if you’re looking to play golf Showing was bit of challenge..water pressure was extremely low..but the tap was fine
