• Roberto (5/5): Decepcionante cambio de última hora - El mismo día de entrada me indicaron que tuvieron un problema con una habitación y tendrían que moverme a otro hotel del misma cadena ubicado en San Pedro a 8 minutos (en realidad estaba a 25 minutos de Antigua). Este otro hotel estaba bien, era bonito, pero el cambio de último momento y sobretodo la distancia nos sacó de toda onda y considero muy mal. La atención en general de los chipines, siempre es fenomenal. Me cambiaron de hotel el mismo día de entrada a última hora y 25 minutos más lejos de la ubicación que yo había reservado en centro de Antigua

• Christina (10/5): Nice room, terrace with a view, and a great, non-touristy location make this a great place to stay. - Excellent location! Nice room with AC and comfy beds. Roomy bathroom and hot showers. Daily breakfast was a plus. Terrace was the perfect place for an afternoon picnic or just relaxing with a view. The wifi signal was low to nonexistent in the bedroom, but was fine in the lounge areas and terrace. Price was a bit high, but it was during Semana Santa.

Bardzo wygodne łóżko. Obiekt miejscami wymaga odświeżenia. Bardzo słabe ciśnienie wody, przez co każdy prysznic musiał trwać bardzo długo.

El personal muy amable, en general, un hospedaje muy completo. No es nada del otro mundo, pero el parqueo es un poquito complicado ingresar y salir. Pero son factores externos al hospedaje.

Staff was rude (we didn’t speak Spanish well but we use Google Translate and be very polite to them, then we heard them cursed in Spanish in front of us), shower water pressure was low, we tried to ask for leftover coffee right after breakfast, they took the bottle left on other people’s table and charged us 15 gtq.

Pool had no sunbeds and it is right next to restaurant so you don’t have your own peace. Quite far from the center but über works well and is cheap.

The location was great and close to everything there is to do in the island, and to the main island entrance bridge. The staff was kind. There is no elevator to the 3rd floor and with luggage and for elderly it’s uncomfortable. There is a club in front of the hotel with loud music till almost midnight, put earplugs.

• Rhea (6/5): Budget option if you want a step up from a hostel - We got a clean room with two beds that had AC for a decent price Noise from hotel staff in the morning and the rush hour traffic traveled very easily so we didn't get the best sleep. Also, the mattress was a little bit uncomfortable. Also the location of the hotel was a 10-20 min walk from cafes and restaurants in Antigua.

• Maynor (9/5): Wondefull, we really enjoy our stay at La Capitanía - The hotel offers an excellent and delicious breakfast. The hotel was clean, quiet and very nice. It would be convenient to have a better choice with de parking place. I know they have a solution but, it could be a nice improvement.

The vaulted ceiling gave the room an airy spacious feel. We liked the location of the hotel. It was tucked back next to the church, and it was convenient to food and Parque Central. Nothing.

• Mirulínek (8/5): more expensive than other hotels, so next time i will ask for better price. - the night guy on reception was very open and cooperative, he navigated us to the gate. it was at 1:20 am and he waited on the road. we can use also the kitchen for quick lunch. we wanted to keep the bags during our trip to volcano and staff asked for extra charge 10US$. We managed in travel agency for free of charge.

• Sandra (4/5): Pessimo - Bad - The original characteristic building is very nice and the owner and maintenance boy / night keeper did their best but there was a lack of a lot of services. -the room smelt like it was closed for a lot of time and the humidity caused for smelly bedsheets . - WiFi and tv didn’t receive signals and even my own cellphone didn’t receive signal inside the room. Structure needs a better WiFi system and didn’t have to do with the amount of tourists in town, like owner explained. - 2 nights stay didn’t change towels ( because of humidity they were still wet after 24 hours shower) and the only bucket we had with smelly toilet paper. Closet didn’t even have close hangers !. - bathroom confined with room next door with glass blocks , if they had the light on you had to close the bathroom door otherwise you couldn’t sleep. - the rooms were in another building called “ La Capitanía Rurale” , this hadn’t been updated on the booking.com site . This is 3,3 km from the center and is 50 minutes walk which I won’t advise because of the dark road and conditions neither during the day and especially at night !! -breakfast is very minimal for that price coffee/ juice/ pancakes/scrambled eggs or fried bananas. -For a price over €300 at least a phone should be included like all the other services!!

• Álvaro (10/5): A little luxury right in the middle of Antigua :) - We booked the hotel as a reward after our Acatenango Hike and it was the best decision! Big clean room, huge comfortable bed, clean bathroom with hot shower, the included breakfast was delicious and the service amazing. It was the perfect chill day with some luxury after spending the night before on top of the volcano. As backpackers this hotel is usually not our price category but it was worth every penny. We even had Netflix on our big TV. We almost stayed instead of leaving for El Paredon:D Everything was great. Nothing negative to say.

It was in walking distance of all the main sights in Antigua but slightly out of the main hubbub. We were there during Semana Santa and one of the processions went right past the front of the hotel. We could also go on to the roof to spectate further. The beds were comfortable and clean. The breakfast was home-cooked and well done. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was a little cramped for two large beds.

The breakfast was also very good. We really liked the roof top and used lot of time there. In the night we sat in the roof top watching the Fuego volcano having eruptions while drinking vine. That was really cool! The next day we sat on the roof top watching the thounder. Nothing

We also liked the area, an easy 7-9 min walk from Central Park. We stayed in a deluxe king room and it met our expectations. The bed & linens were quite comfortable and having a king sized bed in Guatemala is a luxury it seems. Hot water was always available, basic bath linens and toiletries were provided. They even loaned me a hair dryer while I was there (cold nights!), which reminds me I suggest you bring some warm socks if here in January, the tile gets chilly - we were prepared for the cooler temperatures but others were not. The room is not large but we were only sleeping and showering there so it wasn’t a problem for us, they also have nice sitting areas downstairs and on the roof with a view of the city and volcanos. The breakfast was included for us, I think if we had to separately for it we would have gone elsewhere; it was good but not great - but the convenience of having it there was nice. The staff are lovely and kind. The gates/doors close at 10 pm so just be aware to make arrangements if you’re out after this, no problem at all for us. We arrived late our first night and had called ahead, the hostess was very kind to wait for us. Spanish or a good translator app is necessary, which was no problem for us but again, just so others are aware. This place is sparkling clean and a nice place to come back to. The hotel can’t help this and it only occurred a few times but the noise travels through this building very well, we could clearly hear people talking in the lobby from our room upstairs - it wasn’t a problem for us as we had ear plugs.
