- Alicja (10/5): Lovely, convenient huge home with all your needs catered for. - We were a group of 4 adults and 2 teens visiting the area to view the Mach Loop. The basement area was like a teen retreat-which they enjoyed having their own space. It’s a huge home fully equipped with everything you need. A very short walk into the town. It is a 7 minute drive from the Mach Loop carpark. It was perfect!
- Ian Routledge (8/5): Fine and fit for purpose for our two night stay. - Good size property with plenty of beds and bathrooms.
A nice comfortable stay within easy walking distance of the local facilities.Although a bit dated this was part of the charm so I was ok with that. There was nothing worthy of comment in this section to say that I didn’t like.
- Sagar (10/5): Perfect vacation with family. I loved my stay in Bodwyn house - It is equipped with everything you need and the location is superb I liked everything
- Alistair (8/5): -

- scott (10/5): - Perfect for an MTB group Nothing
- wendy (7/5): Little get away in lovely village - We loved the location, vibe and general style of the house. Very homely. General clenliness. Un kept gardens, very steep entrance/exit onto main road. Various broken items including socket hanging from wall.
- Pranav (10/5): Very nice accomodation and excellent location - Excellent Location
- Clair (10/5): Great house for group or couples stay !! - just stayed with my partner. lovely location, very comfortable relaxing house, quiet area, extremely clean, loads different rooms, had cup of tea each morning in front garden. easy to find. driveway. so close to shops yet far enough to be quiet. excellent base for exploring and climbed Cader idris. Returning again later in year. n/a
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Everything
- Warren (7/5): Good value for money and well situated for numerous outdoor activities - Execellent location to access Dolgellau town centre. Good parking on site. Spacious rooms and well maintained Ther property has quite a strong tobacco odour which was not pleasant. Also could have done with nicer garden facilities to relax outdoors in good weather
- Lawrence (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julija (8/5): Very good - Big house, good price for this property To many items in the house.
- Mike (8/5): Great place to stay for a visit hill walking in North Wales - Easy access, great location for town and getting into the hill. Good level of comfort, nicely appointed kitchen, all the utensils you need, lovely big gas hob. Great old Welsh house. Lighting in the kitchen could have been a bit brighter.
- Chris (8/5): All good - Was the right price
- Matthew (9/5): Good warm comfortable clean, good location. Space to park car, quiet. - Good size and comfortable. Mattress’s were springy but ok, it was clean and warm. Lock to lower back door didn’t work so it couldn’t be used for access with it being bolted from inside.
- Stuart (5/5): Perfect location with potential. Poor quality of property. - Location was ideal for what we needed. Plenty of room.. House took a day to get warm after having to reset the boiler.. lots of dead flies in our bedroom as well as 5 or 6 live ones…dishwasher didn’t work. Lots of cobwebs.. toilet seat in bathroom in a poor state of repair.. 2 stains on bedspread in our room.. poor attention to detail.. overall a bit unkempt..
- Abeywickrama (9/5): Superb -
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zrafy (10/5): Amazing place to stay but if it had another bed or an updated sofa bed, I would love to book again! - It was very clean and had everything we needed The sofa bed was very very flimsy, we could not sleep on it as the mattress springs were painful to sleep on. We had sleep on the floor instead
- Louise (8/5): Very good -
- Dr (4/5): Some cleanliness, safety and security issues need to be addressed - The tea bags and the cake were a welcome surprise Not very clean. overgrown garden. Side path to front door had moss growing on it - this was a hazard. The top of the wooden railings on this path fell off during use -another safety hazard. The basement door could not be locked -security risk. A chair fell apart when my grandson sat on it -on further inspection the chair had been bodged -another safety risk. The wooden toilet seat was rotten and rather unsavoury - health hazard. The main bins were overflowing and smelled. Such a shame this property would be passable if some time and attention were paid to it
- Malaika (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (9/5): The house was perfect for our needs, and will definitely look to stay here again in the future. - Property was very spacious, warm, comfortable and in a great location. WiFi was great and sky TV was also a good addition. We didn't have a car, but parking also looked good. Shower was a bit small, but function well and was clean.
- Jodie (7/5): Pleasant, provided a base for what we needed at the right price - Location, price, amount of bedrooms Kitchen is disorganised. A lot of stuff in the house that is not needed. Needs a deep clean.
- Gemma (9/5): Perfect location. Really amazing value for money and this house had absolutely everything you could possibly need. We wo - We stayed at the property to compete in the Wales Ultra 50 miler. It was the most perfect location for this race. Really lovely rooms and very comfortable. The sofa bed was great for 2 nights but not the most comfortable possibly for much longer.
- Julian (8/5): Very good - Location
- Alaw (3/5): Mouse infested. - This house is in a good location. Within walking distance of the town centre. This house has a mouse and moth infestation. We found mouse droppings on the dining table and in some crockery in the kitchen cupboards. The cupboards were so full of usless crockery, there was nowhere to store food but on the worktops and we found droppings on our food. We also saw a mouse in the living room. Unless you're OK with mice and their droppings, don't stay here. We informed the owner and he replied thanking me foe letting him know and said he'd tell the cleaner to check the cupboards. No apology. This house needs modernising too. The sofas were really old and uncomfortable and not clean. The toilet seat in the upstairs bathroom was damaged and unhygienic.
- Turton (9/5): Superb - We couldn't turn the heating off in 20'c heat
- Kate (9/5): Perfect accommodation for our weekend away. - Location. Excellent facilities. Comfortable, clean, spacious. Met all our needs very adequately. Very clear instructions on where it was, how to access, use of facilities etc. N/A
- Oliver (8/5): Great location, and house met all our needs. - Great location and comfortable
- Nick (8/5): Very good - Very roomy house for the five of us plus dog. Close into town where plenty of places to eat and drink, and close to Cadair Idris which was the main purpose of the visit. Nice hallway for removing shoes, and comfortable kitchen. Room for two cars on the enclosed drive. Lots of stuff in the house - if you wanted a book, dvd, game or puzzle there would probably be something to entertain you! Only a few minor niggles which I've passed on to the host, but nothing to detract from a lovely stay
- Maxine (10/5): Perfect x - Beautiful roomy cottage which was perfect for a family with grown up kids, my Dad and our cockapoo. Every little detail was thought of and location was perfect. Everything was perfect...even the broken shower was repaired straightaway. Thankyou xx
- Bruce (8/5): House was fine. Location was outstanding. Low price made it amazing value. - Brilliant location. View from house was nothing special, but the town nice, and proximity to amazing hiking was fantastic. A few issues with maintenance, nothing terrible.
- Adam (9/5): Superb -
- Steven (9/5): Great place to stay, the external appearance gives little impression of what's inside - Location, fully equipped & warm a little untidy externally
- Amy (9/5): An extremely well equipped "home" that was perfect for our 3 nights in the mountains. -
- Pam (9/5): 2nd visit to this house had a great few day visiting family in area weather was great for autumn. - Great size very homely well equipped ideal for our family.
- Dominic (9/5): Perfect for a group on a walking holiday in the area. - Great location - a few minutes walk into town with good local pubs and facilities, and a minute from the local co-op for shopping essentials. The bedrooms were comfy and well equipped, the kitchen was very well equipped with a new range cooker and all the stuff you need for cooking meals (we cooked a roast very easily).
Lounge had a good TV, and plenty of board games, books etc.
The location was great for local walks, with a direct route up to Cadyr Idris if you wanted, and a few minutes drive from the valleys of the Mach Loop. Barmouth was a pleasant walk direct from the house as well. Not many minus points, but the fourth bedroom with a sofa bed in the basement was very much the last choice for everyone when it came to selecting rooms, and the mattress was pretty thin, although we were able to make it more usable with some spare duvets. Probably best to agree who is having it before you get there!
- Krisztian (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location, clear instruction, clean and beatiful place to stay. You can find takeaway, shop, bakery, pharmacy etc local. Hassle free rent, thanks for having us.
- Aaron (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was brilliant
- Cardiff_ceri (9/5): Brilliant family getaway. - The house was MASSIVE, much bigger than I had anticipated. This meant we were not on top of each other. But, its very homely and plenty of size. Great laundry facilities, when you are away for the weekend and need to get uniform sorted for the next week. Everyone slept well. We used the kitchen table for breakfast. Parking 2 cars was comfortable. I would like to keep this place a secret so that I can come back with my family and investigate the Dolgellau area, would love to stay here again. Cross Foxes just up the road serves superb food. There seemed to be too much furniture in the house - sideboards with crockery, an exercise bike and too many chairs in the study/extra lounge. Getting our cars out when the garage or site behind is closed is VERY tight.
- Anne (9/5): Superb -
- John (8/5): Very good - Location to centre of village, spacious property well maintained, large car park. Couldn't find a hose pipe to wash our bikes. A little too much furniture downstairs with limited space for bikes.
- Philip (9/5): Everything that a couple of mountain bikers would want from a property - Washer/dryer !! . Outside tap to wash the bikes down. Very good kitchen . Milk and Cake as a welcoming present. Clean and tidy. Good central heating. Nothing really . Had everything we needed.
- Kamila (10/5): Perfect - The place was amazing, like being at home. I loved the character and the vibe; it couldn't have been more perfect thank you for having us :). There was nothing I would not like at this property. It was one of the best places we have ever stayed in.
- Clare (8/5): Very good - There was a cake and milk left for our arrival which was a welcome surprise. Thank you 😊 The decor and furniture were dated, but everything was clean so no problem 😊
- Marius (10/5): Exceptional -
- Natalie (8/5): Beautiful house in a wonderful location! Wonderful! - This house is amazing! An absolute gem in a beautiful location. Dolgellau is a wonderful, friendly town! The property was massive! plenty of room to escape children when needed lol! 3 double bedrooms. All beds were super comfortable. Wonderful play/games room for children which is separated by a screen from the main living room. Kitchen was amazing. Everything you could need provided. I could have stayed here for a month! Wonderful! Unfortunately, the heating wasn’t working. The boiler packed in during our stay and the owner wasn’t able to get anyone in to fix it. The owner was available straight away on phone and over message. Wouldn’t have been an issue at all during the summer but it was very, very cold at night in February. Thankfully there was two electric fan heaters to warm children’s bedrooms and my elderly fathers room.
- Elizabeth (9/5): Lovely and warm. Very clean. Loads of good quality kitchen items. Clean comfy beds - Excellent location. Near the town centre. We did not have hot water. It may have been my fault for not following instructions correctly. But even after we received instructions it did not get hot. CH was very good.
We luckily had one electric shower in the ensuite bedroom so used this.
- Lucas (9/5): Superb -
- Kinjan (9/5): Excellent Stay for Big family - Excellent location and exceptionally big. Several bed rooms and bathrooms good for a group of 6-8 people. There are many board games for kids to enjoy. Soap and shampoos doesn’t cost much. It would have been good if included at least in main bathroom.
- Davinder (8/5): All Good - we like all over the house. kitchen was having every kitchenware so u don’t need to bring anything. just your food to bring 😊i think it would be better if there would an alexa or google to play some songs etc. and it have the wifi which was not mention in the booking .com umm the sofabed was in the basement where no one sleep from us. it was bit scary. so 2 of our kids adjusted in the 3 bedroom.
