- Maggie (2/5): A disappointing choice; too little space and no comfortable seats for relaxing. - The location was convenient for the village, provided you had no difficulty in walking..
Quaint looking place. Parking was good. There was sufficient cutlery and crockery and pans for a limited amount of cooking. There was outside seating space and a table and 2 chairs ( no cushions for the chairs). The bed was sufficiently comfortable. There was a desk in the bedroom, sufficient for work needs. Oh my, where to start?
(It proved very difficult to find but that was not because the instructions given were faulty. The instructions on the email sent to us unfortunately didn’t download properly. Fortunately a very helpful local lady found the location for us.) A car parked in front of the property obscured the name, which needs to be clearer to people viewing it from behind the wall and closed gate. Clearly our problem was not the fault of the service provider but an unfortunate situation. The yard area needs a small amount of attention to get rid of weeds.
The issues for many self catering travellers:
It is tiny, about the size of a horse stable with a section closed off for the shower room facility, and the spiral staircase leading to the bedroom of similar proportions. The kitchen area is well equipped but lack of space is a challenge for meal preparation. Be aware of no oven and the microwave tucked into a cupboard and 2 hobs for all the cooking required. Space to eat in the kitchen is a small breakfast bar attached to the wall and 2 bar stools. I’m 5ft tall and couldn’t reach the top shelf which had the pans, sharp knives and other useful things for food preparation.
The bed has to be climbed across to get into it, but it might be able to be pushed against the wall to give a slightly better access, at least for 1 person. No room for a bedside table. A bedside lamp is placed on the floor on one side of the bed.
There is nowhere comfortable to sit. The outside chairs could only be used in good weather and there were no cushions for them, meaning that sitting to relax for any time was not possible. Unless you sat on the bed and conformed a backrest from pillows , stretching out legs, there wasn’t a suitable place for a relaxing sit. The bedroom space for a comfortable chair is very limited, so there wasn’t one.
A washing machine in the outhouse, “plus feature”, was not much use as there’s no place to dry clothes. A washer/dryer would have been better.

I didn’t even get to stay there as the room was double booked and I was offered not even £ 1 refund. Total loss of £600 pounds. Terrible experience unreasonable people.
