• Robert (9/5): Erg originele plek waarin je je terug in de tijd waant maar van alle gemakken voorzien - Erg uitgebreid, goed verzorgd en lekker ontbijt. Supervriendelijke gastheer/vrouw. Een comfortabel bankstel zou wel lekker zijn geweest.
• WillRC (10/5): A lovely characterful property and a warm welcome - The hosts, Cindy and Lucien, couldn't have been more welcoming, or more accommodating to our needs. The individualised breakfasts each morning were a particular highlight, but the whole stay was a delight. The rooms were all thoughtfully and characterfully decorated, a really good range of amenities were provided (including a very well kitted out kitchen) and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The bumper pool table was a particular highlight, leading to some fairly heated family competitions. A really delightful stay all round. The city of Ghent is only a very short drive away (indeed someone fit and healthy could probably walk it in half an hour) and is fascinating - we would certainly recommend aiming to get in to one of the regular markets.

• Matthew (10/5): Uniquely wonderful property for an unforgettable stay. - Lucien was a fantastic host - welcoming, friendly and helpful. The property was excellent all round - beautifully furnished and with such unique style. So many lovely little touches in terms of the decor and the little extras you just don't expect when travelling about - the air sauna, bumper pool table, sjoelen table, and so on. And then all the extras you hope for but don't always get, too - good coffee-making facilities, a kitchen stocked with all the essentials, multiple toilets and showering options. Area around the property perfectly safe and quiet. Location-wise it's a little off the beaten path, but of course that's a trade off you are more than happy to accept for the excellent price and the incredible features. The only real issue was a few minor comfort issues - uncomfortably steep stairs and the mattresses need a refresh for a better night's sleep but that is it really.

• Bsyrc (10/5): Awesome place and good hospitality - The unit was renovated from an old structure and decorated in a very fashionable and chic style... The inner atmoshere was incredibly nice. 2 bedrooms upstairs, 1 downstair... providing accomodation to a family with 3-4 children... There were even a (kind of) billiard room and a sauna! Exceptionally clean... and we also loved the breakfasts!? The location was also very good; conveniently away from the city chaos, within green; but also easily accessible to downtown by just 3-4 stops via bus having a bus stop nearby... The hospitality of the landlords (especially Cindy`s kindness & support) was greatly appreciated! WiFi was a bit stressed due to reasons beyond control.

• Stellaw (10/5): I had a lovely stay. A real gem: vintage property with all mod cons. - Very quiet neighborhood, yet you can be in the touristy historic center by bus in less than 15 minutes. Loads of space. Grocery store near by. stairs to the upper floor were rather steep, but that's to be expected in such a vintage property.

• Hilary (10/5): Perfect stay in a peaceful location in a historic property with a fantastic host. - Cindy is a fantastic host - so friendly and helpful. The property is a real gem - beautifully restored and every single detail well thought through. Breakfasts were amazing with far more than we could eat and a great selection of everything from eggs to bread, home made jams, fruit and even cake! The location was perfect - quiet and off the beaten track with parking but only a 20 minute bus ride into Ghent from the end of the road or a 30 minute walk. And the sauna was a real bonus. Nothing but be aware the staircase is very steep and narrow.

It is very touching how fondly Cindy preserves the memory of her ancestors. One of the bedrooms is cramped and difficult to approach the bed

• Mirjam (9/5): Original 19th century-tiled floors, cozy spaces and fabulous hosts. - We booked both rooms so we had the extraordinary luxury of getting the entire house "for ourselves" - it made good for the few moments of rain, when we could cozy up in the kitchen or lounge and play billiards. We wanted to try out the sauna after coming home from dinner in town one night, but could not get it to work. Lucien had said we could call him if we had trouble, but we felt it was too late at night. Better to leave instructions on site?
