Guest Reviews
- Samantha (8/5): Good clean, comfy, friendly hotel - Great hotel, staff was very friendly, room/stairs etc were very clean, big comfortable, room was a good size for 2 of us with our own shower/toilet. Very warm hotel, wifi was abit on off at times but wasnt really an issue. Over all i would stay again Nothing
- Guest (8/5): Great stay, cheap, what more do you need. - The host was very approachable, friendly and helpful. Good size room. Comfy bed. Walls are thin but that didn’t bother us. Close to everything you need.
- Luke (1/5): Worst stay yet in Blackpool will never go back - Rooms had bed bugs I ended up leaving early I wouldn’t put dogs in them rooms The whole room was nasty bed bugs and damp
- John (8/5): -
- Matthew (3/5): -
- Jenni (1/5): Terrible B&B - Absolutely nothing. Checking out was the best part! The smashed front door
The broken lock on the bedroom door appears to have been bust from outside. I asked the owner if our stuff would be OK in the room for him to if we have anything expensive !
The vile smell in the room
The sock covering the smoke alarm
The broken furniture in the room
The dirty room
Overloaded & broken electric sockets
Cash only payment
It's more like a halfway house l than a B&B, and I felt very unsafe here, especially with a young teen.
Based on the previous reviews, this isn't what I was expecting at all. I have no idea how this place is rated very good, it was absolutely shocking. At the price I paid wasn't expecting the Ritz but definitely wasn't expecting what we got either.
- Casey (8/5): Great value for money, friendly place. - Super friendly host, very accommodating. Room was lovely and clean, towels provided which was a nice touch. Tea and coffee too. Clearly a well looked after place. Would definitely choose to stay here again, great value for money. corridors are narrow so gets a bit uncomfy if you bump into someone in passing. Very very warm which I suppose would usually be cozy but in summer was a bit stuffy and we were woken up to the neighbours being very loud at 3am (doing exactly what you can imagine), not the hotels fault but just a heads up as there were kids during our time there.
- samantha (9/5): - Nice clean
- Dominic (5/5): -
- Andy (8/5): Very good -
- Christopher (10/5): Perfect for the price - The room was very clean I actually live in Blackpool. my boiler flooded my house so I made a last minute booking for the night. The room was clean and tidy with an ensuit bathroom/shower room couldn't of asked for a better little room for the price it was well worth it. Pretty sure it was a memory foam mattress as well.
- Elaine (8/5): Last minute booking turned out to be a good choice. - This is the first time I've stayed in Palatine Road and it's definitely the best street in the central area. The houses are better quality. I liked the plain wooden doors in the Sunset, which are period appropriate. My room was pleasant and cosy, with a wardrobe, chair, bedside lamp, and ample drinks supplies. The bed had a good quality mattress and was super comfortable. The bathroom was clean, there was hot water, and everything worked properly. My booking was last minute and made very late at night. I picked the Sunset because its info said you could check in up to midnight, which is unusually late for a privately run place. Only when I got there the door was locked and when I rang the phone number provided I didn't get an answer, it fact it didn't even ring. Thankfully when I knocked loudly another member of staff appeared, a lady, who was very nice and helpful and saw me to my room. I saw the manager on my way out next morning and he was most apologetic and said there had been a problem with the phone network. I can well believe this as the mobile signal in Blackpool is frequently terrible. I would definitely stay here again, but would try and arrive earlier.
- Muhammad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neil (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anonymous (1/5): No water - Nothing There was no cold water to be able to have a drink . The cold water tap was running warm .
The walls are far to thin we could hear people snoring and coughing like we were in the same room as them .
Dirty walls needs cleaning .
Staff no where to be seen not even a reception.
- Catherine (1/5): Bad -
- Lisa (8/5): Basic but comfortable & clean - After messaging the accommodation owners via Booking.com we were able to check in early, this was a great help & the man who met us on arrival was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The accommodation was basic, dated decor but clean and comfortable. Our room was on the top floor & was quite small but big enough for our needs. Could have done with real signs for room numbers, not just paper stuck on the door. Not a major issue though, just not aesthetically pleasing.
- Amin (8/5): Good stay - The host was absolutely amazing and helpful. The location was also very good. It is a good option for the price. We were on the third floor, and wifi was not working properly in our room. The room was small and the bed was very small for 2 people, it was good for one person, however I have to say for the paid price, it is not fair to expect much more.
- Andrew (7/5): Ok for a few nights - The room was comfortable
Shower room ok Public area a bit drab.
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly and welcoming staff, comfortable bed, quiet location, kettle and tea/coffee in room, great value for money and free Wi-Fi Dated decor (I liked it but it wasn't to my partner's taste), no breakfast available and no large communal lounge area (there is a tiny one, but other, similar hotels have large ones with a snooker table/games/TV/a bar, would be nice to have that at the Sunset Hotel!)
- George (10/5): Greatt host and room worth money - Great host very kind polite and respectful amd plave in good location in blackpool easy to walking distances to loads places and very helpful then checking out nothing is to much for host iwill go above and beyond whivh is worth stopping here anytime N a
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional - Comfort room, clean and very welcoming host.
- Evans (10/5): Pleasant - The owner is so pleasant and very helpful . Best hotel we stayed in blackpool by far .would stay here again There was nothing we didn't like

- Anoop (1/5): Bad -
- Raja (7/5): Good -
- Smith (7/5): Good - Location ok To many steps for my wife upto the room
- Howard (10/5): Exceptional - Joe the host was very attentive catered for what we wanted excellent value for the money couldn't ask for more
- Joanna (6/5): Value for money - Value for money Lack of parking
- Paul (8/5): Nice and cosy - Great location
- Brown (10/5): Affordable great place to stay - Great location that is a short walk to Blackpool Tower, room was very affordable and had everything you need in a room (TV, Bathroom, tea and coffee), the host was very nice and helpful and the room was clean, it was everything I was looking for in an overnight stay. Only things that could be improved was the person in the room next to me was a little noisy (not the hotels fault and could happen anywhere) and it'd be good if they put the WiFi password in the room
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexander (8/5): Very good -
- Geoff (9/5): Superb - Warm comfortable room, with good facilities and great location
- Chloe (8/5): Winner. cheap, cosy, safe, warm, welcoming and amazing value for money! Highly recommend - Such a warm welcome. The front of the building and the hallway could do with some TLC but once you get past this and get to the rooms you can see everywhere is clean. The rooms are cosy with Fresh clean bedding and lovely clean towels, tea and coffee facilities and fridge etc. The bathroom is spotless and the tv works fine. The staff are also so attentive and lovely. Nothing to complain about. Really skeptical about Blackpool hotels but made up with this one. Will be back. Just could do with some TLC at the front but once you’re past that it doesn’t matter- the price is an absolute bargain for what you get. Staff are lovely and highly recommend. Perfect little find.
- Henderson (7/5): Nice stay - The hotel was very clean. Very comfortable bed, fresh smelling towels and plenty of hot water. The owners were very helpful and friendly. The outside of the hotel doesn't do justice to what it's like once your in the building.
- Paddyboy (10/5): The manager was a nice polite person no complaints - Didn't know there was any breakfast, I had a great sleep the bed was so comfortable i didn't want to leave Breakfast would have been nice
- Stewart (8/5): Had a great stay - The bed and breakfast was nice the beds were extremely comfortable would definitely go back had a great sleep owner was lovely asked if we needed anything everyday
- George (9/5): Superb -
- Gary (10/5): A little gem of a place - The room was nice and clean and the heating was nice and warm. All toiletries was in the room as well as a kettle with tea and coffee milk sugar etc. Couldn't fault it. I stayed in room 6 The window view but im not here to look out of the window lol. Everything was spot on 👍
- Jones (8/5): Cheap, cheerful, good service, excellent room and comfort - The owner was fast with giving a very late checkout with no late fee, the room was very clean and up to date fridge included for a long stay. The mattress was clean and new very up to date, very comfortable i struggle with back issues and I haven’t had a problem. Excellent location, at night wasn’t loud or people making a lot of racket. There was one instance where someone was making noise at 2am but was quickly resolved and kicked out. There’s nothing I didn’t like, simple cheap and cheerful for the price!
- Dan (9/5): amazing stay, owners where super welcoming, would 100% stay again - amazing value for money, very good nights sleep. being fussy here but the cups where too small
- Brandon (7/5): Good - Having stayed in Blackpool before in another hotel we was expecting the worst, but once we got past the front door it was clean and warm and fairly pleasant. We stayed in one of the top rooms and there isn't much to say negativity about the interior of our room the shower was hot (low pressure) and the radiators worked only negative i can see is it looks dilapidated from outside, and the bed was pretty firm overall a good place to stay, I will be staying next time we visit.
- Harry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Denise (10/5): Enjoyed my stay - Everything Nothing
- Billy (7/5): Good for what you pay for comfy did the job and made a memory I will never forget -
- Steven (7/5): Good - Very friendly and comfortable bed, Toilet took a few times to flush, hot tap was loose in the bathroom. Lock on door was awkward to lock and unlock
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional - The owners are very friendly and helpful. My room is warm, clean and the bed and pillows are very comfortable. It is safe and secure.
It is exceptional value for money.
I would highly recommend.
- Darryl (7/5): Good -
