Guest Reviews
- Sinyee_k (7/5): Good - Great location. Walking distance from Tejina town center, where there are good cafes and options for food. It is also walking distance from a viewpoint and hiking area.
The room is small but it has most of the things we needed for the stay. Wifi wasn't working well so we had to reschedule a call
- Miriam (8/5): Nice little home away from home - Short: Location, cleanliness, communication, parking spot at the property, washing machine, kitchen
Long: It's a great place to stay, particularly if you plan to be out and about all day.
First of all, it was absolutely spotless when I arrived. The washing machine is a blessing, although I wonder if it actually washes with warm water since, as someone else mentioned, there is no hot water in the kitchen.
In Tejina there doesn't seem to be too much going on, but it's super convenient to explore Anaga and beyond. The bus stop is just down the street, taking you to Punta del Hidalgo or La Laguna for instance. I did the most beautiful loop hike straight from the doorsteps. Hands down the best hike I did during my entire stay.
Once you make it through the (for non-locals, or maybe just me;)) tricky driveway, your car is safe and comfortable in your own parking spot, unlike the street parking many other places offer.
The bed wasn't a problem for me as there is a shelf so if you think ahead a bit you can bring up everything you may need and be just fine.
I personally liked the concrete walls. Gives the place its style, and also the high ceilings are quite nice.
The hosts were very responsive when I did have an issue, and I think they may just be starting out and are very keen to improve.
I noticed that they paid attention to some of the previous reviews: there is now a hair dryer for instance ;)
Bonus points for thinking to provide a toothbrush package. Didn't need it, but I can think of several times in my travels where I would have. Short: It could be more comfortable.
Long: What I was really missing was some 'ambient' lighting. I like to read before bed and just generally relax, and only having the big overhead light, which is quite bright, wasn't so fun, so just adding a little table or trading lamp would make it a lot more cozy I think.
The towels could be better, as they leave some lint on you, and I made the mistake of washing the towels with the dish towel and then I had lint on all the plates I was drying off as well. (Also white towels are generally more appreciated because then you can see that they're clean).
Idem for the bedding, as someone mentioned it's thin polyester material, which is mostly annoying for the top sheet as it kind of moves with you and just drapes all around you and you get tangled up. It'd be good to have more dishes and cookware in general. Some coffee would be also nice. I had brought my own, but plenty of people may be getting in late and would appreciate a better start into their day (especially if they've appreciated the complementary bottle of wine).
Some little details: the soap dispenser didn't work and neither did the pedal of the garbage can.
I'd have appreciated more toilet paper. I stayed for five nights, was given two rolls only, and ran out just before I left, which is too early, given that I really only was there in the morning and evening.
I think it'd be good to have a sign to tell people where to take the garbage to. I looked in the courtyard and couldn't find anything, so I assumed I was just stuck with it until I left. I only realized after I left this place that (I think!) in Tenerife there are 'general' garbage containers in the streets where people take their garbage to. I could have also just asked, so that's on me.
- Helen (7/5): I appreciated the responsiveness of Paula to my situation and I was happy to stay in the apartment for a night. - I was stranded at Tenerife North Airport and needed a place to stay at short notice. Paula was very responsive and reassuring and gave me all the information I needed. The studio was great, good kitchen, good bathroom, nice touch leaving bottles of water and wine. The cement wall was a bit alarming. I think it would be better painted. The polyester-mix bed sheets were very old and worn. I strongly suggest getting some new cotton bed linen. There was a strong freshener or insect repellent smell off the little couch which made it unusable for me, as I’m sensitive to strong smells. But I was happy to sit at the table and have a glass of wine there.
- Thomson-corrao (7/5): A good value with some attention to detail to be desired - Great location especially if you want to be close to the beach and have a vehicle. The place was cute and the washing machine was definitely a bonus. There is a cute little town with charming places to shop and eat nearby WiFi was spotty. Seemed to be a bit dusty as if the linens on the couch needed to be washed more often. The shower had hair from the previous guest on the tiles all albeit a small amount I also found same said hairs in the bed. Needed to be more thoroughly cleaned
- Elina (9/5): Superb - The room was very clean. The kitchen lacked basic things like salt or oil but other than that you will find everything you need to make an easy meal
