Guest Reviews

- Laura Hinchey (10/5): Amazing stay!! - The property is so unique. We saw a lot of wild animals and howlers monkeys. The staff were professional and kind. The food was overall very good. The rooms were exceptional. Very well built, beautiful, luxurious and unique. We would come back for sure. They asked me if we were celebrating anything. And I told them it was our 10 year wedding anniversary. And they didn't do anything for us which was weird.
The pillows were very soft and uncomfortable. I asked for firmer pillows and they didn't deliver any.
My seabass for dinner was extremely dry and the worst dish I had.

- Tracy (9/5): The perfect place to relax. - I really enjoyed how peaceful this location is, it was a wonderful place to get in touch with nature and spend time relaxing and enjoying the views. I had the room with the plunge pool, it is absolutely worth it, perfect temperature and so relaxing. I felt truly blessed to have got to spend time here. The only issue I found with the entire place was the coffee maker, minor problem to have, it did not express a cup of coffee properly.
- Anthony (10/5): A truly wonderful experience - We liked everything, the restaurant and food was amazing as were the staff. They could not do enough to help. The accommodation pods were fantastic with 360.all round views. Nothing
- Katy (10/5): Exceeded our expectations in all areas. - Very clean, friendly staff and a one of a kind experience! Everything was great!
- Nick (10/5): - Amazing, huge room. Comfortable bed. Wonderful territory. Helpful friendly staff. Excellent food at the restaurant. The prices at the restaurant were a bit high and the portions small, but the food was really excellent. The free breakfast was one of the best that we had in our travels.
- Sylvie (10/5): Oasis of relaxation - Suitree is a unique stay and an oasis for relaxation. We enjoyed the views and all the windows/balcony around the unit. The swings under the treehouse were a nice addition. We enjoyed the pools and sunsets at the lookout. Great place to enjoy quiet family time and to rest. The food was fantastic and the staff was exceptional. The accommodation was exactly as pictured. the beds were comfortable. nothing

- Cheryl (10/5): Be adventurous and stay somewhere unique! - We absolutely loved our stay at Suitree Experience. It’s a bit off the beaten path and using Waze is a must. The last few miles are on bumpy gravel roads—but honestly, that’s part of the adventure and experience.
The property is small, boutique, quiet, and built into a hillside, which we loved. The treehouses are incredibly cool and thoughtfully designed. We stayed in a bungalow, which was spacious, very comfortable, and beautifully done.
In the evenings, you can walk up—or take a golf cart ride—to the sunset platform at the top of the hill. They have music and a bartender during sunset hours, making it a truly special experience.
The grounds are absolutely stunning and impeccably maintained, with a gorgeous jungle feel and beautifully lit pathways. We woke up to howler monkeys, which was a first for us! A large monkey family regularly moves through the property, adding to the magic.
There are two pool areas—one near the restaurant and another higher up the hill—with comfortable lounge chairs and plenty of sun (perfect for us Midwesterners needing to thaw out).
Dinner was exceptional, and breakfast— which is included—was equally impressive. The staff was outstanding and truly made the stay memorable.
We chose Suitree because our flight arrived late and we were advised not to drive to La Fortuna at night—and we’re so glad we listened. The drive from here to La Fortuna is about three hours and was perfect the next morning.
We would absolutely stay here again, but next time for at least two nights. Everything was perfect!

- Sarah (9/5): A hidden gem - The rooms blended well with nature Nothing
- Nick (10/5): -
- Carmalita (10/5): Magical treehouse retreat in the beautiful Guanacaste jungle! - The staff were excellent! Paulo, MariFe, Luis, and Thomas were so hospitable! I highly recommend the cooking class with Thomas and view deck sunset cocktails! The restaurant menu is phenomal! We thoroughly enjoy every bite and cocktail! There are frogs, lizzards, butterflies and so many other fascinating jungle creatures to see on the property! The location is very remote. Either rent your own AWD vehicle with high enough clearance or secure rides through the hotel in their SUV. They are under construction for a new event deck and building. If you are looking for peace and tranquilty make sure to ask obout their construction schedule before booking. We stayed in the Pochote Suite and had our own pool so the noise was not an issue. But for those that need to use the shared pools you will be in the thick of the construction and noise.
- Trisha (6/5): Incredible views, lovely staff, but ok stay - The views are great and you can see lots of birds and wildlife. The food and drinks were good. The pools are nice. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. Our room unfortunately ran out of water and we were unable to use the sink or the shower. The AC unit also was temperamental and would randomly shut off which in the morning it gets very hot in the unit as it is glass and the sun beats down on the windows. Don’t bring a lot of luggage as there are many stairs up to the unit. We made this mistake but the plus side is the staff is more than accommodating to carry your luggage up the stairs if needed. I really wanted to rate this place well because the views were incredible but for the price we paid to have no water to shower/brush your teeth/wash hands and be sweating in the unit was not worth it.
- Andrew (10/5): Amazing! The best beds in Costa Rico! - Amazing setting High cost for drinks and extra meals
- Evelyne (10/5): - Eine grandiose Erfahrung!
- Tim (10/5): - Das Hotel sucht seinesgleichen!
- Diego (6/5): - The concept is great, a treehouse hotel in the middle of nature. But the execution left a lot to desire. The common areas were built with good intentions, but in reality the service offered still feels sub par for a hotel. The staff was a bit odd. Unfortunately I think it has to do with management. Everyone we interacted with ranged from extremely disgruntled to terrified of doing anything wrong. Feels like they could use a good reset on mindset because those feeling are transferring over to the work they do and the people they're interacting with.
- Sandra (10/5): - Very good but each room could have a iron :) Some of the dinners were not to my liking as a lack of some food choices
- Edith (10/5): - top Unterkunft. Once in a lifetime experience!
- Justine (10/5): -
- Bryan (8/5): Amazing views, accommodation and staff that will not disappoint - Our stay at Suitree Experience was truly memorable. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, with special thanks to Natalia, who was very responsive and helpful in resolving a few minor check-in issues. The location and views are spectacular, and staying in the lodge with a private hot tub was a wonderful way to relax while taking in the surrounding nature. The rooms were impeccably clean and beautifully maintained. The food was excellent, and the restaurant staff were outstanding throughout our stay. We especially enjoyed watching the sunset from the watchtower, with a special mention to Luis for making an amazing Aperol Spritz. The highlight was undoubtedly the breathtaking views from the 360-degree balcony. A couple of very minor points: garden sprinklers could operate later in the evening to avoid wetting paths near the lookout, and pools could be skimmed more frequently to keep leaves clear.
- Jean-Marc (8/5): -
- Gregory (10/5): - Food and staff - outstanding. Maybe the best in all of our travels. Wife didn't like the 44 steps up the spiral staircase at first.
- Péter (10/5): -
- Nina (10/5): One of the most beautiful and memorable place!! - I like everything; location, surroundings, architecture, cleanliness, beauty, staff, restaurant, swimming pool, look out, animals and birds Nothing
- Sergio (10/5): -
- MARCELO (10/5): -
- Madeleine (10/5): Ein Traum!
Pura vida von A - Z.
Auto is echt nodig daar.
- Gina (9/5): Beautiful place with helpful staff. - Amazing hotel. If you’re ok with heights and a few stairs, this place is pretty magical. The architecture and surroundings are beautiful. You’ll need a car to get around.
- Alexandra (8/5): -
- Kelly (10/5): A must stay when in Guanacaste - Everything! It was phenomenal, we will definitely be back. Nothing, everything was great.
- Claudia (10/5): - The treetop suites are magical! Dinner was ok (especially considering the price)
- Melissa (9/5): -
- Luis Guillermo (10/5): -
- Itzel (10/5): - Everything was incredible
- Kerry (10/5): Incredible experience - We stayed for a week in the Jacaranda suite. We loved having the whole wraparound balcony. The views were so pretty. We saw monkeys, birds, and lots of lizards/iguanas. We really enjoyed the cooking class. We learned how to make empanadas but next time we would love to try the ceviche class as well. We also did the side-by-side tour and the guide took us to waterfalls, a lookout, and we got to see a whole family of monkeys playing in the trees. We also did the rainforest hike, which was beautiful. We got the half board and we loved all of the food. You get to choose one meal for breakfast, and then for dinner, you get an appetizer, an entrée, and dessert. Everything we tried was delicious and chef Tomas really went above and beyond with the food. Brendan and Johnny made us feel really welcome. We would highly recommend this resort and we would definitely stay here again.
It’s uphill to get to your rooms and to the lookout, but it’s a very short distance to walk. If for some reason you cannot walk, the staff is very happy to bring you to and from your rooms via golf cart. We highly recommend staying during or right after the rainy season because the trees and plants are green and lush. We loved the stone pools as well as the swim up bar pool. This place feels very luxurious especially because there’s not a lot of people around. It’s never crowded or busy. Great place for bird watching and relaxation. We booked the airport transfers to and from the hotel and everything went smoothly Nothing!
- Damian (10/5): -
- Manuel (10/5): They make me feel like I’m the king of the world - Service and food NA
- deily (10/5): If you want to relax and enjoy the forest, this is the place! - The place is beautiful, with incredible views of the mountains, total tranquility. Even though it's the rainy season, it's wonderful to enjoy the forest from above, the little birds, the mist over the trees.
The staff is amazing, kind, attentive, super friendly, and eager to make sure you have an unforgettable experience.
The food at Taru restaurant is marvelous, the wine cellar has an amazing wine selection, and the sommelier takes the time to show you all the options you have.
The room had a work area, which was perfect since I had a couple of meetings. The internet never failed. The coffee in the room was perfect, making you feel so comfortable that you don't have to leave.
The entire place is designed for you to enjoy, relax, and be worry-free. They pick you up and bring you back from your private suite to the restaurant, pool, or just because...... They genuinely care about you so that, as a guest, you don’t have to worry about anything except relaxing and having a great time. That I have to leave....
- Ralf (10/5): -
- Tine (10/5): The absolutely best of the best - a beautiful and memorable experience - Words can not describe this magical place - if you have the opportunity to stay here, you definitely should. We were blown away by the beauty and great aesthetic of the houses in the tree. The pools, food and service were also impeccable. We hope to come back some day.
- Gorham (10/5): - Awesome place. Loved the place, wrap-around deck!
- James (10/5): -
Unser schönstes Hotel in Costa Rica.
- Guillaume (10/5): -
- Elizabeth (10/5): -
- Ana (10/5): Thank you for creating this beautiful hotel! - Suitree is absolutely exceptional in every sense. This was our first time in Costa Rica and I cannot imagine a more beautiful hotel.to stay in. The architecture is awe-inspiring and each unit beautifully positioned with its own unique special features. We stayed in the Jacaranda unit which had beautiful views over the jungle which meant we could take in both the stunning sunrises and sunsets alike given the wrap around balcony and stunning large windows. We saw so many different birds - including the sweetest hummingbirds - as well as iguanas, lizards, leaf cutter ants and we heard the howler monkeys every day. We cannot praise the staff at the hotel enough! Every single person we met was so welcoming, made us feel like family were super professional, so attentive and so caring. We were genuinely sad to say goodbye. We were on half board and had our meals in Taru. Each was absolutely delicious - as were our out-of-this-world mocktails! The site itself is gorgeous. The gardens are fantastic. We loved the Stone Pools and the Lookout deck. We adored our stay and really do hope we can return one day! Thanks to everyone! We loved everything!
- Megan (10/5): - Exceptional views. Beautiful rooms and common areas. All quiet and relaxing ~ everything we could have hoped for! Also every staff member we encountered was so kind and engaging. All around amazing stay and we will absolutely return!!
- Patricia (10/5): -
- Roland (10/5): Auf Baumwipfeln wohnen!
Amerikanska vibbar.
Vår största besvikelse på hela resan.
- Denis (10/5): Amazing experience - Everything was just fantastic!
- Jacob (6/5): For the same price, you’re better off driving a bit farther north to stay at Andaz Papagayo—where you’ll get significant - The views from the treehouse were spectacular. The beds were comfortable, and the air conditioner worked well. They also provided great binoculars for guests to use. My husband had to repeatedly reset the breakers to get hot water in the shower, as the on-demand water heater kept tripping them. We reached out via WhatsApp for assistance, but no one responded. Fortunately, he’s an electrical engineer and knowledgeable about electrical safety.
There was ongoing construction near the three stone pools, which made the area extremely noisy. Other areas of the property were also under construction. We were not informed about the construction until after the non-refundable booking period had passed.
Additionally, the viewing deck—a major reason we chose this location—was under maintenance and unavailable for use. We were told it would reopen before our departure, but it never did.
- Juliet (9/5): excellent stay at very good hotel in excellent location. - modern, very clean hotel. lovely restaurant and bar. Rooms modern and very practical, functional but very good value for money.
- Misti (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (9/5): Gorgeous, uniquely designed accommodation surrounded by lush forest - Absolutely beautiful elevated suites with highly original wooden design and decor. The six suites are built into a steep sided hillside, reached via block paved track with a series of hairpins, negotiated on foot or by golf buggy. We stayed in the lowest suite at eye level with the surrounding trees. Superb for birding and reptiles. Breakfast is bespoke a la carte and high quality. The triple stone pools are beautiful for cooling off but too small to swim properly. We spent a morning here by ourselves, our own pool. There is no signal in the room and so trying to access the WiFi was impossible. Rather than providing hard copies of hotel details in the room and menus in the restaurant, the now obligatory QR code was a pain. The menu can be repetitive after a few days and the food relatively pricey. The biggest disappointment was the closure of the lookout for maintenance with no forewarning and no compensation.
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Kandus (7/5): It was eye candy for sure, but the false advertising was a dissapointment. - Location was magical. They were renovating the restaurant and we didn't know, jackhammers all day into the evening took away from the peace and reason we went. Also, we had to eat in our room, so we missed out on the "experience" of dining out and walking the property.
- Rebecka (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fairhall (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicole (10/5): Superb, unique, and a huge shout out to Paulo for going above and beyond! - Everything was superb! What a special and unique place. The views were amazing and the bed was so comfy. Coffee and fresh fruit in the open air dining room was the best! Paulo was so helpful and went above and beyond. Highly recommend!!!
- Alison (10/5): Fabulous for couples / families - and incredible stay - Incredible hotel - spectacular rooms, golf buggy to the door, amazing viewing platform for star gazing. Impeccable service wonderful food
- Lyn (8/5): I would recommend this hotel to couples or families with older kids for a two night stay. - We were there for 4 nights. The location is wonderful. Enjoyed the room the views and the sounds of wildlife immensely after climbing the 44 steps to the entrance. The staff were always cheery and helpful. Friday night they had a DJ and a bar up at the lookout - which was fun!
We were prepared for the terrain which is almost never flat and more often can be very steep. It may not be a quick or easy walk to the pool. The staff will transport you around the property by golf cart if you phone and request it. The breakfasts were great! Because we did not have a car we were confined to the hotel for dinner. For the price, the quality of the food for dinners was disappointing.
- Chitra (9/5): Superb -
- Wei (10/5): Very satisfied and my whole family love it. It is a special Tree House Hotel good experiences for us - The hotel is very good and special. We love it. The staff were very helpful and very nice. Eric helped a lot, he is a very nice manager in the Hotel.
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional - Unique experience, rooms were amazing with fabulous views of the forest from our room, staff and food were both excellent. Nothing
- Lauren (10/5): Immaculate hotel, perfect for a special occasion! Well worth every penny! - Immaculate hotel rooms and entire land of the hotel was impeccable. The lookout was unbelievable for sunset watching. Staff were on top of everything and couldn’t do enough - especially Kenneth! Nothing
- Waldron (10/5): Highly recommend staying here! - Great relaxing hotel with an amazing staff!
- Brittany (10/5): Peaceful, beautiful serene the perfect ending our trip - Beautiful property so peaceful and serene if you want to just relax for a couple days, we basically almost had the place to ourselves both days. We had the bar and pool and restaurant to ourselves all day. The staff is wonderful and so kind. Food is very good. Price is equivalent to the other nice resorts we stayed at. This is a very cool concept and something you will not experience very many places. This is not the place if you want a lot of activities and things to do, however it is not far from too many things either. This is the perfect place if you want a couple days of absolute relaxation with nothing to do but chill and vibe in an amazing peaceful scenery. This wasn’t something I didn’t like -I was prepared for this, but there is a lot of steps for the majority of the rooms If you have the tree houses !! they have golf carts to take you to and from your tree suites. you can only access the rooms by golf cart or walking. No cars. They have beautiful woven brick golf cart paths. it’s fairly easy to walk down, which we did but We took a golf cart every time back up to our room. All you have to do when you leave the pool or dinner is ask the staff and they will call a golf cart immediately for you. You can also WhatsApp from your phone to call a golf cart to your room. They are very responsive.
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful tree house with gorgeous views. Lovely staff.
- Stacy (10/5): Great place to stay for a family or couples trip! - It was spread out and very private The bugs ha
- Jaywalker (10/5): A wonderful place - We stayed for a few nights at Suitree in Feb 2024 and returned for a quick stay in Feb 2025. This time we stayed in one of the ground level units and we loved it! Huge bathroom, very comfortable bed and bedding. The 3 secluded stone pools are great and the pool bar is wonderful for a drink. Great service and food in the restaurant. We will likely stay here again on another visit to Costa Rica.
Note: We stayed in a tower room last year and a ground-level room this year. Though the views from the towers are worth the stay, we preferred the larger floor plan and bathroom of the ground level unit (Laurel) that we had this year. We are in our early 70's and not having to make the climb was better for us. The pools and restaurant are an easier access from the ground level units, the tower rooms are scattered as you proceed up the hillside.
- Gil (10/5): Exceptional - magical to encounter european high design in a jungle of vapid American developments
- Steve (10/5): Living amongst nature - This is an amazing place to stay and chill. Staff are very friendly and couldn’t be more helpful- nothing was a problem. Food is amazing and parking onsite, would definitely return A car is required as location not really close to anything but wouldn’t let that put you off.
- Larissa (9/5): Superb -
- Brittany (10/5): Exceptional - breakfast was wonderful, staff was super friendly and inviting.
- Andrea (10/5): Heaven -
- Suzanna (10/5): Magical and perfect…we’ll be back! - Magical location, facilities, amazing staff. Paolo, Ashley, Kenneth and Johnny were the best team caring for the property and guests. Cannot thank them enough for a truly memorable experience. Not a single thing
- Nadia (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing place where half of the experience is the staff who goes above and beyond to make sure you have a wonderful stay.
Hope to come back one day!
- Luke (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leslie (9/5): Amazing views! - loved the rooms, the view and the hot tub. The food choices. A lot of overwhelming sauces on the meal options. Distracted from the rest of the stay. Breakfast options were good.
- Emily (9/5): Absolutely incredible! - Wow what a place!!! We stayed here for our honeymoon & couldn’t have picked a better hotel. The staff are absolutely incredible and are always happy to help. The food & cocktails were delicious. The views from the rooms are absolutely incredible - I couldn’t believe my eyes! One morning we were even greeted by Monkeys outside the Treehouse which was a once in a lifetime experience for us - England doesn’t even begin to compare. So grateful to have been able to stay here and will always remember this beautiful Hotel. Thank you to the wonderful team! It’s worth noting the hill up to the Treehouses is very steep, however staff are more than happy to drive you up or down in a cart.
As a vegetarian I didn’t struggle to eat, however the food can get a bit samey so did eat elsewhere one night.
Ubers (not allowed in CR, however still operates…) struggle to find the Hotel. It is worth having a car if you plan on going out often!
- Lisa (8/5): An amazing stay in the jungle - The property is stunning. It is in the middle of the jungle. The view is amazing and its very calm.
- Latwyan (10/5): By no means is this place cheap but you get exactly everything you pay for. Just do it if you can afford it! - Everything. The staff. The location in the rainforest. The food. Gallo Pinto!! Nada
- Martin (8/5): Really beautiful hotel, nice staff, sadly breakfast not really included. - The hotel was extremely beautiful. The style of this rooms is outstanding and the quality of the rooms outstanding. The pools and the restaurant area were magnificent and we really loved the whole hotel with everything. The breakfast was officially "included"... but in reality you were allowed to chose ONE breakfast meal per person. The meal wasn't very big... for example you could order avocado bread... but if you also wanted to add an omelette you needed to pay for it. For a hotel in such a high level price range this felt a bit greedy and unfair.
We also ordered room service once but almost no food option on the menu was available. The food we finally received was extremely good though.
