Kim (10/5): Lovely extended weekend - Friendly communication with the host via Booking chat, easy check in via key box. Local cookies on arrival were a nice touch! We read in advance that there were no supermarkets nearby, so we brought groceries for the whole stay. Only in the morning I realized I forgot to pack coffee. On a public holiday. I was very happy to find that the apartment came stocked with coffee and tea, saved my morning :-) Beautiful area, can not recommend the relatively new Burgenklettersteig Manderscheid enough. We went on two days, with our 7 and 9 year old boys, also enjoyed the Sommerrodelbahn and the Vulkanmuseum. Lakes with pedal boats in walking distance! Restaurants looked nice too but the boys were too wild, so we skipped them. Overall a lovely extended weekend with the family. We found it a bit cold in the apartment and could not figure out the heating in the living room, but luckily there were blankets. Did not read that there was no wifi, but no problem for us. A washing machine would have been great.
