Guest Reviews
- Alison (8/5): Cosy well equipped cottage in good location - Cosy cottage. Loved the log burner. Great location for exploring the area. A shop and a few places to eat out an easy walk away. Property well equipped. Annexe very useful and good dog secure small garden Specifically asked for bedding linens for the sofa bed and none provided. Sofa bed not comfortable. Second bedroom tight on space. Would benefit from a deep clean though kitchen and bathroom all clean.

- Gillian (10/5): Gorgeous little dog friendly cottage - Gorgeous little dog friendly cottage . Spotlessly clean . Fully equipped for a self catering holiday No problems
- Richard (10/5): Home from home - A great cottage with everything you need for a great stay. A real cosy home from home. The annex and garden where perfect for relaxation. Even got a bottle of wine and quality biscuits on arrival. It's a great location for a brilliant relaxing stay. Will definitely go again. All perfect
- Lloyd (9/5): comphy, cosy, home from home - absolutely beautiful,
it made it extra special with the Christmas tree and decorations, and the gifts under the tree.
so cozy was lovely to have the fire lit on a night, the hosts have thought of everything, was easy to cook Christmas dinner, kitchen well supplied, even down to Tin foil and food bags (which i usually bring) it was just me and my husband in the cottage, excellent location everything in walking distance, supermarket, fish and chip shop, pubs and post office. would definitely love to come back in the summer. there are no negatives regarding the property, and i completely appreciate the size of the rooms, but we both slept in separate rooms as the beds were quite small (were not used to having a double bed) but that was probably a plus not a negative. i completely appreciate the size of the rooms, but we both slept in separate rooms as the beds were quite small (were not used to having a double bed) but that was probably a plus not a negative.
the bed in the back bedroom, seemed like it needed to be tightened up as it felt a bit wobbly
- Clare (10/5): Cosy - Location and comfort Nothing
- Sheila (10/5): Cosy cottage, with more space than expected and in a great location - Easy access to the property , the annex extra space was a bonus and the outdoor seating area With it being an old cottage the staircase is quite steep and narrow , maybe have a child gate available to be stored with the travel cot, so it’s there if needed
- Glenn (8/5): - Location, private garden with annexe, comfy beds. Recycle (blue bin) was full. Not really a dislike, but could do with another side table to place your drink.
- Wild (9/5): Superb - Central. Parking. Home from home. All extras. Loved the garden and annexe. Lovely decorated cottage.
- Sarah (4/5): Incredibly disappointing - The cottage was incredibly dirty. Filthy kitchen doors, windows, under the bed, blinds etc. The property and its contents are in desperate need of a deep clean, and outside maintenance is required, a good sweep and tidy up.
We did not feel comfortable at all and would not stay again.
- Jane (8/5): Very good -
- Helen (10/5): Great place for a weekend away - Location was perfect and it was clean and a home from home The chairs in the lounge were a tad uncomfortable
- Carol (9/5): Lovely relaxing break with local amenities on the door step. - Cosy clean cottage with a sunny garden Nothing
- Andrew (10/5): Excellent stay at Cockle Cottage. Would definitely visit again. Fantastic property with everything you require for a sh - Very cosy and comfortable. Everything you need and more. Garden, annexe and log burner were great. Nothing
- Jenny (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, comfortable, welcome wine.
- Susan (9/5): Lovely stay and would return but only in a party of 4 - Lovely cottage and great location
Would stop again Booked for 5 but sofa bed in annex wasn’t very comfy at all
- Danny (10/5): Lovely stay, great location, the dogs loved it too! - Great location, good walking distance from plenty of beaches, local chippies were great, local bakery/cafe lovely too. 2 minute walk to local co-op.
Cottage was lovely, beds comfy and facilities excellent, highly recommend!
- Phil (10/5): Quaint, cosy and well maintained cottage. - The location was in a quiet part of Flamborough, far enough away for 'seclusion' but in easy walking distance to pubs, restaurants etc. On the lead uo to our stay, Samantha provided all the information on accessing the key for the cottage and on a previous communication she gave us information about the local facilities. The cottage was extemely clean and and well maintained. A lovely thoughtful touch was the welcome pack containing a bottle of wine and biscuits. The cottage itself was equiped with everything you could need for self catering, it was warm and cosy and even had a log burner with some firewood provided although, we didnt use it as we found the central heating warm enough. There was a lovely enclosed garden at the rear which I would imagine is a nice place to sit and relax in the warmer weather. We were not able to take advantage of it during our stay as temperatures didn't get above 2C. Car parking was on the street and we had no problems parking immediately outside the cottage thoughout our stay. I really have nothing negative to say about our stay as it fulfilled all our expectations.
- Rachel (8/5): We had a lovely new years break - It’s was very cosy and had everything you needed. It is in a great location to access the local area. Some areas of the cottage needed a little extra cleaning but overall was clean
- Gina (9/5): Superb -
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional - Everything! Very well equipped property, perfect and cosy. Nothing
- Andrew (9/5): walking break - superb location right in the heart of Flamborough. Nice garden if weather ok. Also log fire if not.
- Sally (8/5): A wonderful stay .. smashing log burning - So warm and welcoming Nothing really
- Alysia (9/5): Felt at home and great value for money. - Great facilities in a quiet and ideal location. Very warm and welcoming. Comfy and very clean. Street parking was the only issue as private allocated parking is preferred. However, even though parking wasn’t available directly in front of the property, the car was in easy view from the window on the street which reassured us.
- Sally (10/5): Super cottage, highly recommended, would definitely return. - Great cottage, very clean, super location, good communication from owners. Nothing not to like.
- Maja (9/5): Superb -
- Hayley (9/5): Superb - Very welcoming, clean and homley
- Walter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jamie (9/5): Superb - Great location, we’ll equipped cosy clean house with enclosed garden Cabinet in bathroom too low for sink.
- Lidia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helen (10/5): Just fabulous - Very clean and welcoming , everything there that we needed. A definitely place to return to. Nothing
- Debbie (9/5): Superb - The cottage was lovely well maintained clean and well maintained no complaints at all . Worry when we left , could not open back door with the key.
When we managed it took some time to get the key out.
A worry that we did not have a front door key
- Jane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lyn (7/5): We enjoyed our stay. - Good location for visiting Bempton Cliffs and Flamborough
Characterful cottage. Previous guests’ rubbish was still in the bin and stairs needed hoovering
The cottage name is Cockle Cottage not Delightful Cottage which was confusing when we were trying to find it. The photos of access to the key safe helped.
A Tea Pot would have been helpful.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - all
- Ramsden (10/5): 9 / 10 - Location clean
- Alisha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional - Super little cottage in a good location. Extremely clean and had everything you could wish for. Plenty of free on street parking too. Warm, welcoming and we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you! Nada!
- Elaine (8/5): Lovely spot & would return. Advice on food venues appreciated. - The venue was an ideal base for birding trips. Very quiet location. Loved the garden and annex. A great location for eating out. So much to choose from. We would return Provide instructions on how to use the dishwasher/ microwave/ cooker ie temperature control/ air fryer (never used one so didn;t have a clue what to do with it). The bedframe front room is too large at the door end. I have bruises where I walked into the frame. Happy to explain in more detail
- David (7/5): Good -
- Jane (9/5): Lovely cottage for a dog-friendly break in Flamborough. We'll definitely be back - Larger than it appears, exceptionally clean - newly decorated, very comfy bed, lovely enclosed garden, good location and plenty of facilities in Flamborough itself. Nearby Village green is great for doggy visitors to stretch their legs, then excellent sandy beaches for a good run at Danes Dyke and Bridlington North and South side when the tide is out. Only one thing could be improved - the bathroom cabinet is too low to access the sink properly. It could easily be raised 6"
- Zoltan (10/5): Lovely small cottage - Perfect location. Large fire pit. Comfortable arm chairs and sofa.
