Guest Reviews
- David (7/5): A pleasant stay. - The accommodation is not actually at the pub, but 100 yards up the road - on the opposite side. The staff are efficient and friendly and the food is good. However, the restaurant gets very busy and you must book. There was no TV in the room and no wardrobe.
- Josephine (10/5): Lovely, charming, friendly staff, and beautiful surroundings. Love this place. - Charming inn, with many thoughtful details. Lovely, helpful staff. One just needs to be aware that breakfast is not served until 9am.
- Clare Northen (10/5): Outstanding and well worth visiting ! - We had a large and attractive bedroom with a comfortable bed and well appointed bathroom. Complementary drinks and snacks and a good coffee machine were welcome. The food was exceptionally good and all the staff we met were polite, attentive and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back !

- Tracey (10/5): - Excellent Nothing
- Hayley (10/5): - Excellent meal in the pub in the evening. Wonderful breakfast. Lovely staff and a really beautiful room with lots of thoughtful extra touches like port and homemade biscuits. Highly recommend & would definitely stay again. Nothing!
- Tamsin (10/5): Our second visit to the Farmhouse as we loved it so much first time we visited in the spring. Never disappoints and will - So clean and comfortable- lovely bath!! Great location and food at the pub is outstanding Nothing.
- Duncan (6/5): An experience - Helpful staff and dog friendly. Pub had a good vibe. The breakfast chef (cook) should get the sack. First time we stayed he didn't arrive until 8.20 for an 8am start. On the second occasion a simple request for a veggie breakfast took 45 minutes and was absolutely awful.
Lighting in the bedrooms is inadequate making reading in bed a strain.
- Guest (6/5): Will not be back - The staff. Dog friendly. Breakfast was a disaster. Had to wait for 45 minutes. No veggie option so I asked for one. When it arrived it was cold with an over cooked veggie sausage, a lump of look warm spinach, as for the eggs - I asked for over easy what I got was a mess of hard broken egg. Very dark bedrooms - impossible to read in bed.
- Tracy (10/5): A jewel in a crown! - A gorgeous B&B in a beautiful countryside setting. Nothing.
- Robert (10/5): -
- Adrian (9/5): Lovely rooms and full of character - Charming room, lovely decor and excellent bathroom. Everything is high quality and well executed. Great breakfast in the pub .. and nice late check out time 11:00 Some may say it’s a touch pricey for what it is
- Mike (9/5): Very pleasant - Very comfortable Breakfast was rather later than we had anticipated and service was slow. It was very good but sadly, it was very rushed and unfinished.
- Lynne (9/5): - Very stylish and dog friendly. Lack of hanging space.
- Christopher (8/5): -
- Barry (8/5): Enjoyed our stay - The room was comfortable and very modern, with immaculate furnishings. The lighting in the room was quirky and different but not very practical.Lighting in the bathroom was not good enough near the mirror, very difficult when trying to have a shave.Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant.
- Alison (10/5): Wonderful, welcoming, comfortable with amazing food 😍 - Customer service and friendliness of all staff second to none. Very comfortable bedroom and spotlessly clean. Staff couldn’t do enough for us. We had 2 dogs with us and they were treated so well, beds, bowls, little goody bag, wonderful.
The food in the pub and atmosphere is sublime. Special mention to Alison who checked us in and welcomed us so warmly. We will definitely return. Nothing so handy for M6 travel
- Hannah (10/5): We loved our stay & hope to return soon. Wonderful B&B :) - The radio, the bath, the tea & coffee, the outside terrace….all fabulous! Comfy beds, quiet location, free parking & beautiful gardens. The checking process was a bit odd as we didn’t realise we had to go to the pub. A small sign would’ve helped.
- Bryan (9/5): -
- Lydia (10/5): Incredible - Everything about this place is amazing, the staff are super friendly, the rooms, the pub just exceptional.
The rooms are finished to really high standards, our room had a roll top bath, and an amazing body wash.
The bed is so comfortable and the lighting is perfect.
The complementary port and crisps are a perfect little touch.
Our dinner was amazing and the selection of port was great. Perfect way to end our day. Nothing!
- Nicole (9/5): Great stay. Will definitely visit again. - Great room and bathroom. Very spacious.
Very welcoming with our dogs. Great pub next door with very good food. Nice walks around the village. Breakfast times are quite late. Basic continental breakfast available in the room as an alternative.
- Maria (7/5): Good -
- Pog01 (10/5): Exceptional - The breakfast was excellent and had a great choice of options. Everything was to our liking, so no negatives to report.
- Chloe (9/5): Superb -
- Jane (10/5): Excellent stay - Excellent breakfast.
Really enjoyed our stay at the Fitzherbert farmhouse.
Very comfortable and tastefully decorated.
Very enjoyable dinner at the Fitzherbert Arms
Top quality and reasonably priced.
Would definitely reccomend. There was nothing to dislike.
- Christine (10/5): Lovely stay. - So cute. Decorated with lots of love. The shower was just sooo good. The lady who checked us in was wonderful. Friendly and very helpful. N/a
- Darren (9/5): Superb - Comfortable room
Spotlessly clean
- Trevor (10/5): Fabulous - Large clean comfy bed in a nice quiet house. The house set-up was good and breakfast in the nearby pub was unbeatable. This is only a very minor point, the room lighting was nice low and subtle, but slightly too low for comfortable evening reading.
- Ellie (10/5): Beautiful place, great service and pub 1 minute walk away! - The room was beautiful and very well kept. The lady who worked there ensured there was a little fridge outside my room, with milk, cereal and juice ready for the next door as I was up early for a wedding. They couldn’t have been more accommodating and the pub is only 1 minute away! Nothing!
- Benjamin (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing place. Beautiful surroundings. Very special venue for dinner and breakfast.
- Richard (9/5): Superb -
- Donna (10/5): Lovely farmhouse, excellent rooms and food at the Fitzherbert Arms. - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. The facilities were excellent, dog friendly and staff were very helpful. We stayed in a lovely room (Vesuvio) which had a wood burner and was well located close to the main door for taking our small dog out. Breakfast and all food at the Fitzherbert Arms was excellent. We highly recommend a visit. The only items we would have suggested to be added are perhaps some bathrobes, slippers are provided.
- Andrew (9/5): Beautiful B&B in the Staffordshire countryside - A really beautifully presented bed and breakfast with a real luxury feel. Comfortable beds, amazing bathroom and the breakfast was great as well. Dinner at the pub across the road was delectable also.
- Josephine (10/5): Character, charm, comfort. Lovely stay! - Beautiful and charming Liked everything!
- Chad (8/5): Lovely Accommodation - Versuvio Room - Very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere without a TV. The staff can’t do enough for you. Would recommend it. All rooms don’t have a tv so to bear in mind.
I couldn’t make breakfast as it starts at 8.00am so they made me a continental breakfast which was great.
I had dinner in the pub which was very nice.
As this pub specialises in Port and have a large collection they give you a sample in the room which was very nice. The parking. Don’t try to drive round the corner unless you have a tiny car as the bushes will scratch your car. It’s pitch black as there is no lighting in the driveway/parking area. Suggest installing some security lighting to make parking easier and making the corner wider/tidying bush/step or having a sign up warning people of the tight gap or no entry past this point.
The bathroom isn’t set up for taller people. You have to bend over the sink to see the mirror and bend in the shower to avoid hitting your head on the shower head.
The pub chairs are wobbly and fairly uncomfortable, could do with more comfortable chairs.
- Katharine (8/5): Very good -
- Danielle (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful room, lovely staff and great breakfast! Definitely recommend. We also had dinner there in the evening, was delicious. Nothing
- Jane (10/5): Lovely relaxing stay with gorgeous food, super comfy bed & great staff. - Stylish, beautiful location, comfortable, super accommodating staff. Wonderful food at associated restaurant/pub.
- Chris (5/5): Unlucky - Well decorated in a country cottage style
An open fire available.
Good breakfast I was unlucky because on a cold late afternoon the room was cool and after a short sleep I was cold . The radiators had gone off . Management came and they came on after another 30 minutes.
It was lucky I had the open fire to light up
and so I stayed in .
In the morning I couldn't persuade the towel rail / radiator to come on. Hay ho.
Very nice breakfast opposite in the pub
- Amanda (8/5): Very good -
- Jen (10/5): Exceptional - The interiors are so gorgeous and done to such a high standard. Our room was lovely and clean and everything we needed was there, including a little package for our dog! Friendly welcome and a lovely, quiet location. We will be back!
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - The location was perfect, the room extremely comfortable, the bathroom was to die for, and the pub dinner and atmosphere, and breakfast fabulous.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura-ann (10/5): A perfect, luxurious & relaxing break in the countryside. - We loved everything about The Fitzherbert Farmhouse! The decor is beautiful and extremely well thought out and the ambiance of the rooms is warm and cosy. It is the ideal place to go and relax. The staff went above and beyond throughout our stay to make sure we had a wonderful time, in particular the lovely lady who checked us in and served us at breakfast time. We would definitely return and recommend it to anyone.
- Thiaan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachel (10/5): Excellent stay, we'd come - Great aesthetic, great pub down the road where breakfast is served, great staff. We stayed for two nights as a part way stop on a long drive, we'd stay again! We would have loved a port & water refresh on the room refreshments for the second night, and fresh towels.
- Holly (8/5): Very good -
- Kara (10/5): Wonderful farmhouse Bnb in a nice peaceful setting - Cute village, lovely room, great hosts and excellent food Nothing
- Joanne (10/5): Excellent from start to finish - It was very tastfully decorated, excellent food, excellent staff and we were extremely pleased with our stay Nothing

- Liz (8/5): Exceeded my expectations- thank you - Lovely fresh produce good selection If rooms are available it would be nice to have a room away from the road
- Kayleigh (10/5): Exceptional - Beautifully renovated, very comfortable. The roll top bath was incredible, and the room smelled amazing!
The food at the pub was brilliant and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend. Perfect stay!
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): Stunning stay, everything was perfect. We’ve stayed over in several places, though this is far and away the best ever. C - The room was incredible! Immaculately clean, extremely classy, warm, comfortable, well equipped and in a beautiful location.
The pub opposite, to which it is linked, and where breakfast is served, is one of the best we’ve ever visited. The ambience second to none, and the food was un unforgettable; delicious.
The staff couldn’t do enough for us, and their welcome and service was outstanding. I can’t think of anything we didn’t like about the property.
