• Yosra (4/5): Enkel voor locatie. - Communicatie met host was onmogelijk. Hij antwoordde maar niet. Er begon water van de bovenste verdieping te lekken in onze bed. Wij werden genegeerd en gevraagd om het verblijf te verlaten met compensatie van 1 nacht. Geen nieuwe dekens, niets. Hygiëne was niet ok. Het appartement stonk, de muren en bed waren vuil.

• Leandra (7/5): Super locatie, top voor een kort verblijf - De locatie was top! En het zelf inchecken ging heel makkelijk met de uitgebreide instructies. De kamer was ruim en het bed was comfortabel. De badkamer op de 4e verdieping is niet in gebruik wat van te voren al aangegeven is dus je bent er van op de hoogte, maar je moet daardoor buitenom twee verdiepingen naar beneden wat toch een klein beetje onhandig is als je ‘s nachts naar de wc moet. De raambekleding was ook niet echt verduisterend dus het werd al snel licht in de kamer.

• Sandra (3/5): - The room was as more or less as shown, so no surprises when the room was tiny. There were no towels, there were not enough blankets. There was nowhere to sit either in the room or in the apartment, and the beds have wood around the sides so you couldn't even sit on the edge of the bed. There were only three cups for the entire floor and our room had four people. There were no curtains on the room so the street light was a problem, and the cold of the window was terrible, it also meant that there was absolutely no privacy at all. The shared bathroom had no hooks or basket for your clothes and the floor was not clean.

• Shawna (1/5): This was the worst ever. - I was able to walk here from Ueno Station with my family and a few pieces of luggage. This was the worst place I have ever stayed. I didn't know Japan had places this dirty and broken. I felt like I was living in a slum here. The sign for this "hotel" was right beside the back door to the kitchen of a restaurant - we opened the door thinking it was the door for the hotel and saw into the back of the kitchen of a restaurant instead. We had to walk around the back of the building for a small, dirty staircase with a small sign that indicated it was for the "hotel". Once we got in, the door lock for our room wasn't working for a while, making it hard to enter our room. We tried entering the code on the keypad several times. This was our first time in Japan and it was cold and dark, in the evening, and we were afraid we wouldn't be able to get in. Half an hour later, as we were almost ready to give up and find a nearby hotel, I tried one last time and it worked. We were afraid to open that door again until we left first thing the next morning. Once we got in the room, it was very old and dirty. One of the beds had a broken bed slat. There were crumbs in one of the beds and some stains on the bed cover. We had to sleep on our own clothes instead of the sheets. HELP and "X" was scratched into the wall beside the bed, in big letters. My family was afraid. One of the light bulbs in the room was missing, and another was burned out. The blinds for one window were missing so the street light from outside shone in all night. There were bars and nightclubs around and we were not comfortable there at all. I had no idea. I couldn't see any reviews about this place. I didn't know Japan could have such bad places! It should not be offered on Booking.com or any reputable agency.

• Kamil (7/5): If you plan to spend most of your time outside - it's bed & bath & nothing more for a good price. - Very close to both metro and train stations, as well as Ueno Park. Beds were comfortable, bathroom and toilet were clean and functional - just good enough. Check in was extra simple. It's nice that one of the rooms had its own fridge - unfortunately the other did not. For that price, it's a good deal, i'm gonna remember this place fondly :) Loud neighborhood - had to wear earplugs most of the nights i stayed there. And i really missed having a sink with a mirror to shave. Rooms and corridor are very narrow, keep that in mind. And very steep staircase leading there is especially difficult with heavy baggage. Walls have zero noise isolation, so you're at the mercy of other guests being quiet at night.

• Capelli (2/5): - La posizione è buona, vicino la stazione Okachimachi e Ueno , perciò l'alloggio è collegato benissimo se atterate a Narita. Il prezzo è bassissimo, l'unico fattore che giustifica la condizione sporca e scomoda della struttura. La camera era un corridoio, non c'era spazio neanche per aprire le valigie. Il bagno non era dotato di un lavandino, apparte quello minuscolo sopra il water, tipico delle strutture giapponesi, perciò abbiamo dovuto lavarci i denti nel lavandino della cucina. Lo staff non è stato disponibile ed è difficile che rispondano su booking; la nostra camera aveva la finestra con vista sul parcheggio e non era presente una tenda, dunque non c'era privacy. Inoltre la porta di ingresso è sempre aperte, quindi può entrare chiunque.

• Wendi (6/5): - The location was excellent. Some of the beds were very hard. The toilet area wreaked of cigarettes. The shower has minimal ventilation and was moldy. It's on the 3rd floor no elevator steep outside steps. It was difficult to get the AC to work. There weren't enough window coverings.

• Yan (8/5): Very good - Great location, easy to find food places and to transportation. There is a seafood supermarket just a few munits walk away. The lower bed rail is too high, not easy to get into bed.
• Lianne (3/5): Not a hotel - It was very cheap, 4 beds for around ¥6000 I guess you get what you pay for! First, this is NOT a hotel, recently though it says Hotel in the name. It’s a small 3-bedroom apartment that has been converted with locks on the bedroom doors into a share house. The picture of the room I booked was different and larger than the room I actually got. There’s no way that picture I on my booking was in this apartment, it’s much too small to have that room in it. Second: The location was a red light district, don’t bring kids. Third: the link to house manual they sent didn’t work so it was really hard to find. Fourth: The only electric socket in the room was broken and dangerous. The owner didn’t reply when we messaged about it.

• Fernando (10/5): Most bang for your buck. - Location and price can’t be bear. The Lower price comes with no frills accommodations. The 4th floor loft is cozy. Had to use a communal bath room two flights downstairs, but I knew this when I booked it so I was prepared for it. Oh and karaoke nights at the local bar can go hard till 4am
• Lachlan (9/5): Superb - My experience with the 8 person family room was very good. Convenient location and family room is well suited for large groups. Provided some amenities such as soap, shampoo and towels which was good. Small balcony is used by cleaners to dry towels, who enters once a day to collect/dry more towels. A lot of smokers in the alleyway, everytime window is left open, smell of cigarette smoke enters room. Moldy AC, could not use. No microwave, only fridge, freezer and kettle.

It was sadly very dirty, and no space for any kind of luggage in a room ment for 4 people. It was sadly dirty, there was a lot of dust at the bed. To get in your bed was also difficult.

• Johnston (3/5): A cheap run-down old apartment building with no service - To be fair, the location was great, nestled away but right next to central Ueno, easy access to trains, food and the park. The room on the top floor was quiet and could relax there. It's not a hotel, it's an old abandoned apartment where you let yourself in. It was a narrow attic room, with a semi double bed just big enough for 2 but with a thin blanket that barely covered us. The bathroom was broken so you have to go outside and down stairs to use one shared with 3 other rooms. The floor was stained and dirty, the room had that kind of musty, moldy smell and it came from the AC unit as well. Had to air it out. I would only say stay here if you have no other option, it was cheaper than staying in dorms but we had a better time in a social environment than an isolated attic...
