Guest Reviews
- Christopher (10/5): - Had a fantastic couple of days the apartment was near all shops and bars and the walks are brilliant đ Booking.com did not let us know how to pick the keys up or where to park our car .we had to phone the owner and she was very helpful đ
- Simon (10/5): Mountain Biking weekend - Excellent location and worked well for our stay. Parking permit provided Close to all amenities
- Irishbanjo (8/5): Good Value Great Location - Lovely well appointed apartment a short walk to everything. Had everything you needed except an egg cupđ. Only issue was electric heating was a bit random. Fine first 2 days but not so easy to turn on afterwards. Would definitely recommend and return Electric heaters
- Penny (6/5): Great location, unfortunate number of stairs. - Convenience to Bakewell amenities was excellent. Fridge was cold, a good thing! The layout was interesting, but worked well. The weather helped lift the experience. There was no mention of the number of stairs at the property! Firstly to get to front door, there were a number of stone steps to navigate and with a heavy suitcase and unreliable railing, quite dangerous. Secondly, once inside, there were three flights of stairs, quite narrow so getting suitcase up and down was difficult to say the least.
- Cara (7/5): Good location and stay but perhaps needs some updating in places - Good location, close to the centre, spacious bedroom, allows dogs, tv with all channels and internet. Quite dated in some parts with extra touch ups needed- paint, wardrobes in bedroom, old doors and locks etc. stairway going up to room had a bad smell upon entering. Issue with tv on wall so did not extend out without falling tv to the side. Toilet is not in bedroom bathroom and door is sliding with no window so not ideal.
- Darren (8/5): Great location and apartment thatâs more than you need tbf - The location was perfect was a nice apartment with everything you need, once we got the heating right was nice The heating wasnât quite right first night but once we sorted it was cosy. Like I say once thatâs sorted itâs a lovely apartment
- Katherine (6/5): -
- Graham Theobald (9/5): It is lovely, exactly as advertised - Convenient to local shops and pubs etc.
The apartment is clean and tidy with everything you will need
- Horrigan (10/5): - Bright, modern and very clean
Perfect location in the centre of Bakewell.
Great that there was a resident's parking ticket that could be used during our stay.
Would definitely book the apartment again.

- nettles39 (10/5): - Location! Location! Location!
It's the perfect place to stay, very central to Bakewell.
The apartment is on the top floor with access only by stairs. The apartment itself is very comfortable with a nice few amenities. The bed was lovely and comfy and the shower was just perfect. There wasn't anything that we didn't like đ
- Robert (9/5): Lovely walking weekend. - Central location More bedsheets. Was a bit chilly at night.
- Colin (8/5): Lovely clean, comfortable and quiet apartment, shame about the parking. - Great central location, quiet, clean and comfortable. TV reception was a bit hit or miss until I discovered that the aerial had a long wire on it, once I moved it to the roadside window, much better reception.
It was a pain to have to find somewhere to park, then get our luggage into the flat, then get the parking permit, then move the car to the allowed parking areas which were some distance away. This wasn't mentioned in the original listing - it just said private parking.
- Tracy (8/5): Excellent location clean and - Great location
Clean
Good bed
Good shower
Great view
Parking permit a bonus as parking in Bakewell can be difficult Tv a bit difficult to operate
Communal areas need attention but not owners fault
Stairs steep but no problem for us
- diane (9/5): Relaxing - Location was very central All was good
- Jackie (8/5): A great stay - Great location Couldnât sort tv or heating
- Catherine (10/5): -

- louise (10/5): -
- sandra (7/5): Good location and spacious apartment. Parking was with a permit provided by host - Location excellent although busy road with motorcycles going to and from Matlock Bath. Fan provided Sash cords on windows require urgent attention.
- Lesley (8/5): Very good -
- Patrick (8/5): Great value and well presented small apartment in a beautiful part of the Peaks - Lovely 2nd floor apartment near the town centre. Modern and clean decor, appliances and furnishing throughout, in an older style terrace of houses. Helpful instructions and good communication from the host. Dog friendly. The road it's on is a little busy but it's quiet at night, and being on the second floor makes traffic noise less intrusive.
- Sally (8/5): Very good - Location A little chilly in the bedroom
- Colin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Louise (9/5): Superb - Excellent location
- Emilie (9/5): Lovely - The flat was really lovely and the hosts were great. Really nicely decorated, close to the centre, and nice views out of window. Water pressure on shower wasn't great and the bed was a little too hard.
- Damian (10/5): Thank you so much, we will definitely be back and have already recommended to friends. - Very spacious, clean with everything you could need.
Great position and communication/instructions from the owner. Nothing - we really couldnât fault anything. We felt safe and comfortable.
- Chloe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bernadette (8/5): We had a great time and the location is great, appartment is very nice and well equipped - Great location Heating wasnât great, we couldnât fathom it out at all. I donât think the smoke alarm works and I would suggest checking inside the oven after visitors as someone had obviously cooked bacon and not cleaned the grill pan, it smelled like it had been there quite a while and when we used the oven you could smell the old fat, television was intermittent as the signal wasnât great
- Margaret (9/5): Superb - Lovely apartment, clean, comfortable and modern.
Great location in Bakewell, very quiet. There is no gas to the property, there are electric heaters but as it was a very cold day when we arrived we were cold the first night.
After that the weather was milder so this improved.
- Jennifer (9/5): Lovely, clean and cosy apartment right in the centre of Bakewell. - Great location in the town centre. Also a 15 minute walk away from the Aldi. The apartment was nice and clean, bed very comfortable & a lovely cosy space. Sally was great at communication. If you travelled by train like us there is a bus stop right outside that takes you directly to Buxton Station. Thank you for a wonderful stay â¤ď¸
- Chrischew01 (10/5): Perfect for a weekend getaway in the Peak District. - Perfectly located in the centre of Bakewell, with everything needed for a long weekend stay. Instructions to enter the property were clear and simple, and parking was relatively easy to find nearby. Not a problem for me, but be aware this is a top floor flat accessed via 3 flights of narrow, steep stairs so wouldn't suit someone with mobility issues.
- Jacques (10/5): Excellent find - Excellent apartment and location. A good place to use as base for the Peak district.
- Terry (9/5): Superb -
- Erika (9/5): Superb -
- Denise (8/5): Nice and Central Apartment - A well equipped and clean apartment. Nicely decorated. In the centre of Bakewell for restaurants, pubs and shops. Although not essential for the holiday and for some people, the television did not work and we had to keep moving the aerial to tune in to the channels. The aerial had to be balanced on top of the television to get all of the BBC channels to work and then moved to get the other channels to work, sometimes this took a while and got frustrating.
The following are not a criticisms but observations.
A small table would have been nice which would have fitted either side of the sofa to be pulled out to put your drinks onto, rather than on the floor.
The roads that we were allowed to park in with the parking permit also had other cars parked there from other self catering properties but instead of having the original parking permit, like we did, they had an A4 sheet of paper with a photocopy of the permit and the name of the holiday property, one was actually laminated. This is only being mentioned as there is a ÂŁ150 charge if you accidentally take the parking permit home for this apartment.
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional - Location, area, comfortable, had everything we needed. Stairs
- Annette (9/5): Good location and very clean - Was very clean and in a very good location. Only a few minutes walk from all amenities. Parking was a bit hit and miss but we managed to get a space although depending on where we parked it was a bit of a walk to the apartment.
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Donna (10/5): Beautiful location with views, would recommend. - Great location and views
- Paul (9/5): Comfy and smart apartment very close to the centre of Bakewell. - Perfectly situated for the town centre and all the attractions and facilities.
Apartment was very comfy and exceptionally clean.
Easy to access by public transport as close to bus stops. Would have liked more Freeview channels as only BBC channels worked, other channels were continuously frozen.
- Hopkin (7/5): Good - Location was the best 4 flights of stairs
TV - Freeview unwatchable, kept breaking up on all channels, which only left Netflix, hard to negotiate, we aren't use to that.
- Catherine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Abi (8/5): Cozy in Bakewell - Perfect location in town. Super close to everything you need.
Lovely interior. Comfy bed and sofa bed. All very clean, tidy and modern.
Just about get a nice view of the countryside too.
Neighbours were quiet too. It is a second floor flat so be prepared for stairs and quite narrow ones.
Could use a few more kitchen items too.
Wifi was spotty at times.
Parking is round the corner up a hill - only a short walk though.
- Emily (8/5): Very good - Cozy and clean, good kitchen and bathroom facilities, central location, friendly and helpful hosts, multiple parking opportunities somewhat loud neighbors, we had to park in a narrow road on a tricky slope thrice
- Ian (10/5): Beautiful Bakewell, perfect accommodation with all you need - Excellent location
Spotlessly clean While the apartment itself had its own lockable door, access to the building was via a main door on a yale lock which was often unlocked. This was a concern
- Roger (9/5): We had a good time staying in this flat - Pretty much everything was really good but there was a slight problem with the TV - not many Freeview channels and unable to get iPlayer. Just the stairs
- Kathleen (4/5): Disappointing stay because of accessibility issues. - Apartment has been totally modernized. The bathroom and walk in shower were fine. The apartment description included on Booking.com nowhere stated that you have to go up 2 floors of stairs--very steep and narrow stairs. Stairs were also not mentioned in the email from the owner. Not to mention the non-maintained steps up to the front door with a loose railing. We both have mobility issues and probably would not have rented here in the first place had we known.
- Eve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maureen (8/5): Very good -
- John (10/5): We had a lovely time in Bakewell and enjoyed some of the numerous walks nearby Parking was also very easy and close by . - Well presented , clean and very good value for money. Brilliant location in the middle of a picturesque town. Superb location for walking Good variety of shops and pubs on your doorstep. Nothing
- John (10/5): Excellent stay, well appointed, comfortable and great location - would stay again - Really comfortable, very central to Bakewell and quiet Shower could be a little more powerful but it did the job
- John (9/5): Beautiful apartment in centre of picturesque Bakewell - Central location and beautifully appointed with plenty of kitchen equipment. Very comfy bed and sofa. Parking permit provided. No designated parking. Was able to park up the hill past the Church but not sure where youâd go if no available permit spaces
- Gabrielle (8/5): Handy location close to the centre of town and a pleasant apartment - The central location made it very easy to access the amenities in Bakewell. Key collection at the front door was easy. All the basics were there for our stay. Kitchen facilities were good. Messages to the host with our questions all received a reply. There was no information at all in the apartment for guests. At the very least there should have been info on how to access the advertised free Wi-Fi and how to operate the TV and heating systems. We had to message the host via Booking.com to request this information and we never did manage to use the Freeview TV even though we followed her instructions, having to rely on our own iPlayer login in the end.
The free parking was not actually at the property but was on-street parking using a provided parking permit, so we had to unload our stuff on double yellow lines, collect the permit from the top floor of the house and then find a parking space.
