• Katie (5/5): Lovely location and lake but staff not very helpful. - The location was lovely. Nice to be close to the lake. A lot of fish A different variety and sizes. The hot tub was dirty and when I reported it to the staff they waited until the next day to come back to me and it wasn’t usable for the extent of my stay. The mattress was very uncomfortable.

• dave (9/5): Happy customer - I went away with my partner for a break from the world and to discover Boston area. On our arrival we went straight to the cabin. It was amazing, clean fresh and airy not like pods, the shower room was deceptively large to be fair. The whole complex was clean and easy to find, staff in the pizza shed very friendly and welcoming ( My partner spent most of her time watching the variety of wildlife around the complex and the baby ducklings that were on the lake ) I had 2 issues with the holiday as a whole but only one was with the lodge. The roads leading through farmland to the complex are horrendous, definitely vehicle breakers if you're not careful, But the only issue we had with the cabin was the size of the bed as we are both tall people we struggled with the length having a headboard and baseboard to the bed made it a bit tight. But it didn't stop us enjoying the break.

• Snugglebug (10/5): A peaceful, relaxing, very enjoyable stay. It was great! - Everything. The location, the fishing, the cleanliness of the cabin, the bed was very comfortable, nice & warm. Nice touch with the tea, coffee, sugar. Left in peace to enjoy holiday. Nothing.
• Harvey (8/5): Lovely place great for fishing really peaceful had a great weekend will definitely be visiting again. - Lodge was really well equipped comfortable and clean. Fishing was great, loads of fish to catch and great for many different methods of fishing. The bar was cosy and the choice of drinks was good and reasonably priced as well. can get dark around the sides of the cabins at night time could do with little spot lights on the side of cabins and maybe little bits of street lighting so you don’t trip up.
• alisha (9/5): gorgeous accommodation & great fishing 🩷 - lovely little lodge had all we needed! i cooked for our duration and i found the hob & microwave/oven easy to use. bed was comfy, shower suitable, PLENTY of hot water - just keep in mind it does get extremely hot. towels & linens all provided! hot tub was lovely! for first timers with a log burning hot tub id say treat it like a bath, be resourceful with your wood. lovely little pizza shed on site. fishing was fantastic just from our lodge, my fella and i lost count of how many we caught! just remember this lake is not for your big fish which is stated in their description, they have a sister site with a lake full of much bigger fish! in my opinion there was plenty of room from our peg to fish from, the cabins are well spaced out. we got our shopping from co-op 5 minute drive away if that, next time i think we’ll bring our own shopping as we all know co-op is on the pricier side😂 all in all we absolutely loved it here and will absolutely be back, all i have to grumble about was probably the £25 i paid for our cabin to be decorated for my partners birthday, as much as i appreciate the team doing this for us, i don’t think what we got was worth £25 for a couple birthday banners a bag of fake petals and some balloons, but in all fairness, our experience as a whole made up for it!

• Maria Carolina (10/5): Highly recommended - We had a wonderful stay at this fishing retreat! The cabin was cozy and well-kept, perfect for relaxing after a day outdoors. The pizzas from the restaurant were absolutely amazing — real homemade flavour and perfect crust. All the staff were lovely, always kind, helpful, and made us feel very welcome. The hot tub was an incredible bonus, really made the stay even more special. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful, enjoyable getaway! N/A

• Amy (10/5): Sad to leave, exceptional stay. - From us arriving we loved every minute of it the cabin was beautiful, cosy and clean the pizza shed and bar was exceptional the pizzas where delicious and great range of drinks , cocktails where very strong and great value for money, just a shame we lived 3 hours away or we would have ordered some pizzas to take home with us, we will definitely be back and we will definitely be bringing the kids with us, perfect couples weekend ,just what we needed. There was nothing we didn't like about the whole place.

We went for dinner in the pizza shed where the food and service was outstanding. My husband spent alot of time fishing which was good for me as I could relax and read my book in peace. • Amanda (10/5): Brilliant family run place - It was beautiful,the staff were so fruendly and helpful the food was amazing they had a coffee bar and a bar at night for drinks.the deserts were fab and the cabin was spot on the hot tub awww amazing again loved everyminute.the fishing was brilluant loads of variety of fish. A couple was there and i think they had been drinking they were arguing very early in the morning..not something you want too sit and listen too...
• Bentley (10/5): - The setting was calm and relaxing. The lodge was well equipped, comfortable and clean. It was lovely to have the hot tub and fire pit to add to the outdoor elements. We booked for my husbands 60th birthday, he is a keen fisherman and the trip met his expectations for a relaxing fishing experience.
• Nichole (10/5): Perfect cabin getaway! - Gorgeous site! The cabins are perfect, lovely and cosy, literally everything you could possibly need. The lake is beautiful and some great walks nearby too. The fishing was good even for a frozen January weekend where we had to break the ice off! Hot tub was an absolute bonus. Also, the pizzeria and bar on site was fantastic- buzzing atmosphere, and the pizzas were delicious! Can’t wait to stay again!

• Claire (8/5): Lovely location, clean, good facilities in lodge/grounds-disappointed with incorrect cafe info - Great Location Great Lodge, slightly bigger would be fab, more kitchen room Great Swim, BBQ, Hot-tub and picnic Bench Clean Linen and Towels The Shed - Advertised as being open all day from 8:30am for coffee and cakes, we visited at 11am but there was nobody there. Called owner who asked "what do you want"....replied, coffee and cake! She explained it was a separate venture from them, they didn't run it and they wud probably be there at appx 3pm. I pointed out to her that the shed board and Lakeside Fishing Retreat 's website states that they open from 08:30am, this was partly why we booked with them, so was disappointed! If they don't open until 3pm (off peak) then say! It's false advertising.
• Mark (10/5): Excellent! - The staff that worked in the pizza bar was absolutely amazing. Very professional, very helpful and their pizzas was the best I've ever had. As for the fishing, it was also very very good wonderful time. Thank you There wasn't anything I didn't like.

• carolyn (10/5): - Was a great stay cabin's fully fitted with all we needed showers was nice and hot kitchen area all you needed good clean and warm and great that fishing was included in the price which was a added bonus and situated out on the deck of the cabin with fire pit and hot tub which we didn't use but will next time and on site pizza place and bar staff all was very polite and very welcoming and also again allow your four legged friends to join you all in all we enjoyed our stay that we are returning in July and in September All was great

• Sophie (10/5): Fantastic stay, romantic and perfect for couples - The cabin was open plan and spacious enough but also had a cosy feel. It was also really clean and well equipped. The hot tub was lovely with the view out onto the fishing lake and the logs that were already in on arrival were plenty. The pizza bar and restaurant did really good stone baked pizzas and it was really good value.

• Iulia (4/5): Lovely cabin and views, but disappointing communication and checkout experience - The cabin itself was lovely, well-presented, and in a good location. We really enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, the hot tub and the view. Leaving a review wasn’t my intention at first. I had reached out privately to share some feedback after our stay, hoping it would be helpful for a new family-run business. However, after receiving an unprofessional and, frankly, threatening message in return, I felt it was important to share my experience publicly. Although we paid for a late check-out, the hot tub was emptied before we left, and someone knocked on our door while I was still asleep, clearly rushing us to leave. This felt intrusive and disappointing, especially given the extra payment for extended time. When I contacted the host directly to explain this calmly and respectfully, I was first asked if I had left a review and offered £10, which wasn’t the point of my message. I told that I wasn’t trying to complain for compensation, just to offer advice. In response, I was told “there are worse things happening in the world” and was accused of being “miserable, spiteful, and a bully,” and even asked, “What more do you want, my blood?” It’s upsetting to be treated this way simply for offering feedback. I hope this review helps future guests understand what to expect, not just from the property, but also from the communication and professionalism of the host.

The pizzas were incredible too! Not everyone was following rules regarding outdoor music, which while it wasn’t too loud, I feel staff could’ve monitored slightly more as it was annoying at times

• Karen (7/5): Ok, but probably wouldn't go again. - Location was fantastic. great facilities, lovely staff Bed was uncomfortable as was the sofa and the dining chairs. I know it's a fishing retreat, but a few cushions would be great! The sofa was like sitting on a rock. Thankfully we were only here for 1 night. A few little extra touches here and there would be great. I also didn't like the fact that it cost us £15 for the dog for 1 night, they charge £15 per stay, but we were only there for 1 night so felt that charge was excessive, especially as there were no extra things laid on for the dog, like treats/bed etc.

• Alan (8/5): - It was a lovely location, and we were accommodated next to family which was good, cabins were lovely and warm and had most things we needed. The hot tub was great. The main problem we had was the lighting outside, particularly on the road, was very dark when walking out. We could have also used a mop for the floors as it was quite wet while we were there.
