Guest Reviews
- Anonymous (7/5): Good - Transport in proximity.
The host was friendly.
Good value for money. Check in was a little confusing: wrong code and the room wasn’t ready.
The area isn’t that great.
- Bianka (5/5): Good for one night max if you are on budget but not very comfy - Its relatively cheap for London. Rooms were clean. You share 1 house with family and other quests. It felt very weird, family was always there so you cant use kitchen, kids were screaming all day and overall you dont feel as customer here but rather as way how family pays bills. Owner did not speak english.
There was one bathroom for quests, so it was very busy. Also nobody was cleaning it, so be prepared for p*op on your wc everytime you visit. We got one toilet paper for 3 days (3 people).
- Enrique (6/5): Pleasant -
- Müge (10/5): Safe and clean - It was very clean and quiet. It was also safe. I felt very comfortable. There is nothing I don't like.
- Jozsef (9/5): Superb -
- Martin (1/5): A horrible experience - Nothing Too much noise children running around the house and woke up early in the morning making nose so I couldn’t sleep. You can not make breakfast or use the kitchen to do any lunch or dinner.
The whole weekend I could not get out of the room as many people in the house and music too loud.
- Seck (9/5): Superb -
- On (9/5): Superb -
- Markéta (7/5): You’ll get a good value for your money but this is very much NOT a boutique stay. - Excellent location - in the quiet part of the city but 15 minutes by Thameslink to St Pancras ad quite lot of buses too. There is a very fine coffee shop just around the corner. The kitchen was nice, the hosts were pleasant (Jose even carried my heavy suitcase upstairs). The bed was comfortable. And it was one of the cheapest accommodations available at the time. The staircase is extremely narrow and the stairs are short - if you have mobility issues, that will be a problem, especially because you have to take your shoes off in the carpeted area. The room I got was so slanted that I could stand only in a narrow corridor at the door, other than that I could walk only bent forward/sideways. There wasn’t any nightstand or a lamp and all the outlets were far from the bed. The bathroom was constantly out of toilet paper, especially late in the evening/during the night. The bathroom was cleaned regularly and thoroughly but it’s shared so you’ll get the other people’s mess (not the hosts’ fault but be prepared for it). You’ll stay with the family who have a loud kid and also other guests’ noise carries in the small space a lot, take earplugs with you.
- Mujahid (2/5): This is not the place to be if you would like to cook at a reasonable or have a lay in. - My room was nice big room So the advert for the place is very deceiving and is the complete opposite of the experience you will have whilst staying.
1) There is a family living on the 1st floor of the property with children, who make noise every morning. If you would like to sleep in the mornings you will not be able to due to the children shouting and running around the house.
2) The kitchen is inaccessible to guests from when the family return home to the late hours of the night, meaning the door will be closed and you cannot use the facilities at all. You may be allowed to use the microwave and coffee maker if your quick enough, you are unable to make dinner or really any food during the day that has any smell, apparently you are not allowed to make “smelly” food in this property (whatever is classed as smelly food).
3) The kitchen sink is full of mess constantly I.e. the families mess from the evening/night before.
4) The upstairs bathroom is never cleaned and incredibly dirty, the shower drain is clogged with loads of hair meaning the bottom of the shower will flood.
- Ting-chen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jack (6/5): Pleasant - Ok value for money. Kitchen was good. Easy check in and check out. Room clean. Bed comfortable. Ceiling very low above bed. Bathroom not very clean - just needs to be cleaned more often by host
- Muhammed (10/5): Had friends meet up and chill, excellent host that left us too it. It's a shared house. -
- Saman (10/5): Exceptional -
- Saira (8/5): Very good -
- Link (10/5): Housely atmosphere ⚕️ - Comfy bed, safe location, likeable host ⚕️ Check out time was early, i would have loved to sleep in until the afternoon!
- Farooq (8/5): Very good -
- Kamble (9/5): Awesome room - The hostess has managed the property quite well. The room was clean even the common area was quite clean. The toilets were kept clean. A lot of amenities are available for use. Thank you it was a great stay and a great experience.
- Joanna (6/5): Pleasant - Quiet area, easy key collection and very close to bus stop. Unfortunately, the cleanliness in the bathroom left much to be desired. Please consider cleaning the bathroom more often and vacuuming the carpets. The shower drain was clogged, and there was mold in both bathrooms.
- Thomas (8/5): Convenient, comfortable and affordable! - The property is situated a short tube ride away from the city centre, making it easy to get around London. The facilities are also reasonable, and the staff are extremely approachable. My room was a little bit dusty on my arrival, as if it hadn’t been cleaned very well. The shower drain also became blocked on several occasions.
- Rob (7/5): Good -
- Kg (2/5): The cover photo of clean amenities and the use of boutique in their name is thoroughly misleading. - The room was spacious enough and the clothes rack was very convenient. It's close to a train station and many bus stops. It's situated in a really nice neighborhood with food trucks nearby (the Jamaican and Boba trucks were brilliant). The owner was responsive and helpful for the most part. The kitchen was indeed clean. The room stank and I wasn't given a blanket in freezing temperatures (I was initially concerned about putting on the ancient looking heater situated directly above my head all night, though it was functional, but needs must). The towels I was given stank so I used them to cover the carpet which was absolutely vile. The duvet was tiny enough that it could either cover my head or my feet, never both. I'm 5"0. The plug points were nowhere near the bed and the awkward angle that was caused if I tried to charge my phone with my long cord actually ended up breaking my charger. The curved ceiling was so low I could only stand straight near the door.
The bathroom was filthy, covered in hair, dust and grime that was never cleaned. There were was very little in the way of cleaning supplies so I usually had to scrub the shower floor with water and a rag. Hair completely clogged the shower drain which meant that the shower would flood after about 1 minutes of use. Short pube-like hairs consistantly covered the bathroom sink no matter how often I wiped them away. The entire house was carpeted including the 6 flights of stairs which gets slippery if you're wearing socks (which is always since they have a no shoes policy), I fell down the stairs once and got a nice bruise.
Things that weren't necessarily the owners fault but still ruined the experience:
There is a very strong feeling of being an unwanted ghost in someones attic which is an annoying feeling for a room one paid this much or for. I didn't feel free to move around, make a sound or take a shower in the early morning since the entire family apparently lives downstairs. One of the guests was unbelievably rude and aggressive. She started banging on the door screaming about how she'd timed my bathroom time and wanted to get in THIS bathroom NOW and refused to use the bathroom on the ground floor (there's nothing wrong with it, it's actually nicer than the one on the second floor).
- Darya (8/5): Very good - Good location
buses and trains are close at hand - very convenient.
The owners are ready to help in any matter, open to dialogue.
very easy step-by-step instructions for check-in.
I liked everything.
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Jérémy (8/5): Very good - The facility was great and not very far from london with the bus.
- Rasika (10/5): The rooms are spacious, beds are wonderfully comfortable, the host was friendly and attentive. -
- Faizadzha (10/5): Exceptional - Everything is ok..no comment
- U.m. (8/5): Quiet, budget-friendly stay in Cricklewood with a friendly host and great transport links. - Very nice and friendly host. Clear and practical instructions. The house is in a quiet area in Cricklewood. Well-connected to inner London. 5 min walk to bus or train station. -
- Yuhan (8/5): Great stay - Friendly host. Detailed check-in instructions and house rules sent ahead of time. Modern, clean kitchen. Comfortable bed with good lighting.
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Christopher (9/5): Superb - Very Good location. In a quiet side street but 2mns from the main road. Very close to overground train station. I didn't use the kitchen, but it had a good kitchen.
- Teodora (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angelie (7/5): Great location and affordable - I like the location. It's in a quiet neighbourhood and it's close to a variety of restaurants/cafe and grocery stores. It's also a walking distance from bus stops and the train station. The room was spacious and clean. The check in process was also clear and efficient. I wasn't able to use the kitchen to cook my food. Not sure if the shared bathroom was cleaned everyday. Since the shower wasn't really separated from the toilet/sink area, you'll have to use a squeegee to clean up excess water around the bathroom after showering.
- Shingote (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hibs (8/5): Very good -
- Emma (8/5): Very good -
- Caio (10/5): Exceptional - Everything is great, hosts are super friendly and flexible. The house is really comfortable. Thanks a lot Angelica and Jose! Nothing to complain
- Bodenham (3/5): Poor -
- Udaya (7/5): Good - Bedding Room too narrow
- Federica (9/5): Fantastic and relaxing spot in the heart of Cricklewood - It took me a while to leave this review but here I am. Hosts were super friendly with me. The house is very beautiful, a gem in cricklewood. I was charmed by the kitchen, although I did not use it! My room had enough space and the bed was super soft. Cleaner attended the property regularly during my stay, ensuring the shared areas were clean. I will definitely come back here, hopefully staying in the same room that had a very peaceful view. The house is located in a strategic place. 10 mins walk from both Kilburn and Willesden Green (jubilees line) station. 13 mins from Brondesbury overground station plenty of overnight buses to central London. The train station is 3 mins walk from the house. Lots of local restaurants, coop, Iceland and Tesco. Obviously I love cricklewood and I have decided this will be my permanent place when visiting my neighbourhood again! Thanks guys This has nothing to do with the cleaner or the hosts of course. Unfortunately although the house was spotless, one of the guests did not like to clean after herself when using the toilet and also did not respect the quiet hours. I guess it is something to be expected when sharing a house with other people. Aside from this, everything was perfect.
- Philbrit (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joel (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and nice
- Giacomoavondo (8/5): Overall great clean place, quiet, good location. - No breakfast No TV in room
- Pete (5/5): Convenient location for trips into London. - Great location very close to Cricklewood train station. Fresh, clean bedding and towels. The shared bathrooms facilities were well maintained and clean. Instructions to check-in were clear & easy to follow. Host/owner was friendly. Property photos and listing was misleading about the availability of the kitchen. We were expecting to self cater but the kitchen was confusingly only available to make drinks and quick snacks as it was continuously used by the family. Garden was overgrown with weeds. Despite the request to remove outside footwear the stairs & bedroom carpets were badly stained. Bedroom was small with a collection of mismatching furniture and a bare lightbulb. Narrow stairs and no natural daylight /window. No kettle in bedroom.
