Guest Reviews
- Brendan (1/5): It’s a bait and switch, don’t stay here - Look, the location is incredible if you’re going to The Principality, which we were, and the flat itself was fine, if reminiscent of a student flat, but the pictures shown are not of the real flat. This is a bait and switch, and that left a very poor taste in my mouth. As above, this is not the flat that is shown. We were already wary when the hosts asked us for photos of all guests’ IDs (not sure of the GDPR implications of this) and then the request to pay the security via a bank transfer (not sure if that’ll ever be returned), but when I looked at the small print, I realised it was mentioned in the ad so I chalked it up to me being an idiot… but then we opened the door and realised that the pictures on the ad were not taken in that flat. This whole operation is shady, and the crazy thing is, for three mates going to the rugby, we might happily have paid for the same apartment if it had been sold truthfully.
- Jacqui (1/5): DISGUSTING, UNSAFE, AND NOTHING LIKE THE PHOTOS – A TOTAL SCAM - Nothing Avoid this place at all costs. This “apartment” is an absolute scam. The listing photos show a clean, modern, well-kept property — what I walked into was the complete opposite. The condition of the place was disgusting and unsafe. There were exposed walls, damaged surfaces, and a dangerously fitted electrical socket that made the place feel like a fire hazard. It is shocking that this is even allowed on Booking.com.
The room I was given looked old, shabby, and totally different from the pictures — nothing matched what I paid for. It felt more like a neglected student bedsit than the apartment shown online. I couldn’t stay for my own safety and had to book another hotel at the last minute.
To make it worse, they took a £200 deposit for a room that wasn’t even habitable, and Booking.com offered me a pathetic £8 “compensation” for the inconvenience, stress, and extra cost. Completely unacceptable.
This place should be removed from the platform immediately. It is misleading, unsafe, and a blatant misrepresentation. I strongly warn anyone thinking of booking here — don’t do it.

- Jacqueline (3/5): Nice apartment. Shame about host demands. - The flat itself was clean and nice and spacious. The location was nice and central. After booking and paying, the host demanded ID documents and a further deposit of £200 before releasing check in details. 10 days later we are still waiting, despite repeated requests, for a refund. The whole distrustful set up left a sour taste over the whole trip which was a shame as the property itself is nice. Parking was difficult and expensive and the key collection set up from a shop 2 streets away was not as straightforward as it could be.
- Lee (8/5): - Good communication. Well located and easy arrangements.
- Rachel (3/5): Extremely noisy property with a rude host and nothing as advertised on booking.com - The location was good, very close to everything! Although extremely noisy in the apartment during the night! Lack of contact and rudeness from the host! The key is only released once you have paid £125 deposit, this is not returned until 14 days after stay and then I had to send messages asking for it!
Only 3 double beds not the 4 that are advertised, the bed downstairs is propped up by books, the mattresses and bedding were stained and dirty.
Not enough glasses for 8 people.
Not much sleep was had due to the neighbours door slamming at all hours of the night.
We would not recommend this host or property!
- Harry (10/5): Very good stay and minutes walk from where we where going - The property was good value for money and nice location. Not far from where we where going Nothing
- Ismaila Balde (1/5): - They are thief. They are thief they steal my 232 pound and refused to host me.they was rude with me.thye have no phone to call only text message.i advise anyone to avoid this property they are inhuman.they rob our money with out hosting as.and not returned the money.please people I advise to not book this place.

- Ameer (1/5): Host demanded extra money after payment, left me stranded without a room, and ignored refund promises – avoid at all cos - I had an extremely disappointing experience with this property. After urgently booking and paying £68.60, I was bombarded with WhatsApp messages demanding more money in order to stay. I had already sent over my ID as requested, yet instead of being given check-in details, I was told I must pay an additional £125 deposit. I explained I had no more funds available, but the host showed zero care or concern and essentially left me stranded without a place to stay.
I was forced to rebook elsewhere using my overdraft, while the property kept my money and ignored my follow-up messages. They even promised a partial refund, which never came.
As a frequent traveler and loyal Booking.com user, this is by far the worst and most unprofessional service I have ever encountered. I strongly advise others to avoid this property.
- Dylan (6/5): Nice stay, but communication bad - The apartment was spacious and comfortable.
Great location even though it was meant to be somewhere a few streets away. I didn't even know the location until two hours before I checked in.
I tried messaging the owner multiple times with no reply, and started to worry it was a scam due to the lack of information and communication, which is not what when you are travelling from afar.
The TV didnt have any channels connected and wasn't even connected to the WiFi so we could only watch YouTube after I connected the TV to the WIFI myself.
The apartment owner needs to update booking.com with correct information as most of it is out of date.

- Michael (10/5): - Beautiful apartment, very spacious and central to Cardiff amenities
- Samuel (8/5): Convenient, affordable and friendly staff would definitely come again - Lovely apartment, brilliant location, rooms were really good and staff were excellent. Nothing it was very good.
- ADUSEI (10/5): -
- Francesca (9/5): Amazing location and very spacious - The location was amazing forf us, right across the road from Principality Stadium! it took us 5 minutes to get home from our concert! Also the property was very spacious. There wasn't enough towels for all 4 guests.
- Gonzalez (10/5): Fantastic - Very spacious and location was really good
- Amy (8/5): Very good - So much space and close to nightlife
- Lee (9/5): Superb - Excellent location for Principality Stadium or events at Cardiff Castle.
- Gillian (5/5): Nice location, but lacking in basic provisions. - The layout was nice, and the space was clean. The property pictures online were not of the house that we were assigned in Cardiff. The house we were in was not adequately supplied. For example, it slept 6 people but only 3 bath towels were provided (1 bath towel placed on each double/queen bed). There were no additional towels or washcloths provided. The kitchen also did not have any paper towels or dish cloths, very difficult to function this way to prepare meals or keep the kitchen tidy.
- Neil (9/5): Superb -
- Ryan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Noel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wild (6/5): Pleasant -
- James (1/5): Bad -
- Amy (10/5): Lovely place, nice and bright apartment. Perfect for a group of friends or couples to stay. Lovely location, quite centr - Good location, lovely space inside apartment. Nice space downstairs Overall the place was lovely but there were a couple of things that I’d changed would make better. See below:
- The handle on knife provided in the draw was broken on arrival and dangerous to use and the saucepans seemed old and had oil burned into it so even after cleaning before using the oil smoke fill the room.
- the cupboard above the bed downstairs opens to a corridor that seems accessible by others. The light in this room went on and off throughout the night and made me feel slightly uncomfortable. A lock on the apartment side of cupboard would have made me feel more comfortable
- it was hot upstairs and night and the fan didn’t blow any air when on full speed.
- there were mirrors leaning against the wall by the kitchen and storage boxes of books stacked next to these, felt abit like it was used as a storage place part time.
Finally, I would just check the seal under the front door because we had ants everywhere in the kitchen when we woke up but we didn’t leave food or drink out over night so unsure why that would be.
I would definitely stay here again based on the location and the space of the apartment however, if these few things were updated or modernised it would improve the stay even more.
- Nicky (8/5): Very good -
- Patel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful space and amazing location the staff had very good communication and the check in and check out instructions are very clear will definitely come back
- Sarah (9/5): Cardiff stay near St Mary's street. - The apartment was really nice, myself and the girls in my group were very impressed. It was very close to all the pubs and clubs in cardiff, the city centre and train station. The apartment had everything you needed. So easy to find the apartment. The only thing I have is that the Internet didn't really work and neither did the tv as that was connected to the Internet not that we were in the apartment long enough to need the tv, it would have been nice to have been able to use it for some background noise. I would recommend maybe a small radio just to be able to put on while we got ready for the evening.
- Billy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ramesh (8/5): Very good -
- Gulnara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (9/5): Very comfortable and so close to the city centre & stadium - Really lovely apartment in a brilliant central location. Would definitely recommend
- Priyanka (10/5): Exceptional - We had a wonderful stay. From the moment we arrived we felt at home. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. We really appreciated being able to do our washing and prepare our own meals. It’s exactly as described. The host was very helpful and kind. We will rebook next time we visit Cardiff.
- Richard (1/5): Wouldn’t stay again, an all round poor experience. - Had to walk to a corner shop 15 minutes away for the key, no information was given about this. Poor communication and didn’t feel like a comfortable way of checking in.
Electrics were not working when we arrived. Took many phone calls to sort out.
Paid a deposit that was reluctantly refunded, even though the property was left in an immaculate condition when we left
- Gwenllian (5/5): Passable -
- Jonathan (9/5): Superb - The location is wonderful, and the accommodation is spacious and clean The wifi didn't work for us but didn't really bother us as we were out most of the time
- Richard (4/5): Location great, place needs some TLC - Location was great.
Instructions on how to access was very good.
Had issues with the WiFi on the first day and they were extremely good to try and fix the issue. Even had the cleaner come around that night to try and fix. Place could do with some serious TLC…
For a nonsmoking accommodation, the towels and linen all smelt of cigarettes.
Upstairs ensuite didn’t have a shower head and the handheld shower only dribbled water.
Bed mattresses were uncomfortable, you could feel the springs…
- Phillip (10/5): Excellent apartment, very clean and location superb. Would definately recommend this apartment. - No Breakfast included Nothing
- Bethan (3/5): Nothing luxurious about it - The location was good and central, next to bars and pubs. However, it was described as being on St Mary’s street which was untrue. We faced numerous issues with this property and would not recommend anyone to stay here:
- The apartment is not as described and a totally different property to the pictures on the website.
- The beds were RIDICULOUSLY uncomfortable with pieces of metal sticking into our backs. The only way we could sleep was wrapping the entire duvet underneath our bodies to cushion it.
- It’s advertised as an 8 bed property (2 doubles, 2 sofa beds) however, one of the ‘beds’ was simply a mattress on the floor. How is that in any way luxury??
- The shower upstairs was set on boiling hot and there was no way to turn it down. As a result, a member of the party actually got burnt from the water as it was kettle temperature.
- General cleanliness was sub par. Towels and bedding smelled like smoke. Tea towel smelled unwashed.
- Host was rude and accusatory from the get go. Accusing us of intending to throw parties and damage the property when we questioned the deposit due to (understandable!) fears of getting scammed. Then, when we complained to booking.com regarding all the issues we faced, she proceeded to accuse us of making it all up in order to receive a free stay!!! I am more than capable and happy to pay good money for good quality accommodation. What I don’t like is being falsely mislead into believing something is luxury and paying luxury prices for something that was far from it!
- Nicola (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aled (9/5): Superb -
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Branka (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed in this apartment in Cardiff city centre and had a fantastic experience. The location is great with all major attractions within a few minutes walk.
The apartments itself is modern, quiet, clean and comfortable to stay in. It’s well equipped with everything you might need and everything matched the description perfectly. It would match the needs of a wide range of travellers.
Hosts were very helpful from the outset, clear instructions and good communication.
We would definitely rebook when next in Cardiff.
- Hongbo (10/5): Very Clean Place - It was conveniently located and the place was very clean. It was spacious and everything worked well.
- Raymond (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (10/5): Brilliant Stay - Lovely place, extremely comfortable bed. The WiFi works, there are no problems. The place was clean and everything worked as described. Location is absolutely perfect , right near the stadium. Definitely recommend staying here.
- Jones (1/5): Did not stay. - It looked nice in the picture. Price was good. Easy access to the city centre. No communication, could not get in touch with anyone. No parking, my friends ended up not staying because we thought the whole thing was a scam!
- Hayley (8/5): Very good -
- Zhang (10/5): Exceptional - The location is good. Just opposite the stadium and beside the Bar 44. Surprisingly it is very quiet during the night. I would be grateful if there are some free beverages for numbers of people staying. Thank you for the good stay. The address number is too small for us to identify but over all - good experience
- Yvonne (5/5): Okay stay for a night, a few things could be improved - good location to central Cardiff
good price for 3 bed accommodation
okay for a very short stay key collection and location details not shared until 6pm the night before arrival
issues with shower
issues with cleanliness
uncomfortable master bed
noisy
- Federico (1/5): I will not repeat in this apartment. - Location was not bad, but full of garbage bags at the front what made difficult to come in, together with the bad smelling, and the terrible impression of having the entire building´s garbage, in our door.
Also, since the apartment door entry goes direct to the street, when it rains, you fin a huge puddle, what makes impossible to come in or coming out, without your shoes get wet. Internet did not work from the check in to the check out, regardless of all the steps I followed through whatss with the property, so wasting a lot of my time on this and regardless of specifying while making the reservation than the internet was included.
One of the shower were not working; I reported that to the property through whatss and they told me a plumber will be coming. But never show up and our entire stay going to the bathroom downstairs, even when the rooms were upstairs.
The heat did not work downstairs and it was very cold; I spent time with the property for managing the control but still di not work properly.
Some of the door knobs were not fixed and I had to fix the screws.
The kitchen do not have proper appliances, coffee maker, enough forks, spoons, etc. No napkins, no rags, etc.
The mattresses and pillows were super uncomfortable.
The apartment was not perfectly cleaned, like in the kitchen, floor, etc.
No curtains at all, neither at the top of the entry´s door, what makes impossible to sleep out of the dark hours.
The apartment is very noisy because there are two bars, left and right of the entry door until late night. But if the rude instructions I received, they say that the deposit will not be given back if you make any noise...
Very poor value for money; it´s not possible that super low cost in maintenance and appliances with the high rates charged just because it is "near to the City Center".
I could not find the luxury, as it is called the apartment; luxury was the price.
- Gordon-james (6/5): Was a lovely stay but appartment needs a little tlc - Location Attention to detail slightly lacking
- Richie (9/5): Ticked ALL our boxes - Access, Looks and Location! - The apartment is really lovely: spacious, nicely decorated and clean. The location is phenomenal, particularly if your trip to Cardiff is to watch rugby at the Principality (as was the case with us). Access to the place was a doddle too 🙂 Everything was great!
- Claire (4/5): Cancelled by the property last minute 3pm which was really annoying, this was booked for a worker - I booked this for a worker and only when I was chasing the access details at 3pm did I find out the accommodation wasn't available. They were very good and cancelled then, I had a refund the next couple of days, but it was really rather annoying as I then had to find other accommodation at the point the worker should have been accessing their accommodation.
- Alana (8/5): Superb apartment - The location was great. Very spacious apartment. Beds were very comfortable. Little touches like complimentary tea and coffee wouldn't go a miss.
- Dylan (10/5): Clean, modern & fantastic location - Fantastic location, clean and spacious, easily could stay for a week with all given facilities.
Communication was fantastic and clear throughout booking
Won’t hesitate in staying again
- Charles (6/5): Great appartment spoilt by unhelpful host attitude - Spacious appartment that appeared to be generally weel equipped and comfortable. Good location in city centre very close to the principality ground, with a great selection of pubs and restaurants close by, and within easy walking distance of bus and train stations. Stay rather ruined by the unwelcoming and uncommunicative host, and his process for very late release of the address and key collection details, and his late insitence on bringing forward the checkout time one hour. As it was a very busy night in town the this caused a lot of stress for me, as he doesnt answer the advertised telephone and insists that photo ID for all guests is whatsapped to a different telephone number. With all the ID scams around this didnt feel good but no ID no keys! Also the communicated wifi router was not present and there was no soap or complementary tea/coffee in the property - a disappointment if he lets for one night.
- Sophie (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment was clean and in such a good location so close to everything would definitely book again
- Akram (5/5): Passable - Although the location is different, luckily, it is still around the area that we need
Although the property is not the same as described, luckily, the size of the property is good, as we expected The location wasn't the same as what is mentioned on the website.
The property wasn't the same as the pictures shown on the website
The mattresses were not comfortable at all
The furniture was not clean enough
- Gareth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sara (7/5): Good - Excellent location and lovely, spacious apartment Had to provide ID to host for them to release address and key picking up details. Despite sending ID a few days before, host did not provide address and pick up details until midday of day of renting apartment. We were concerned it was a scam as they would not pick up the phone to the two numbers provided. Contacted Booking.com and they were able to intervene and address and pick up details then provided.
Mould on ceiling of bathroom that needs cleaning. Previous guest had written "clean me" in the mould! Needs looking at please
- Carruthers (6/5): Ideal location but lacking community on advertisement and general communication. - The property was in an ideal location - although the address of the location was actually incorrect as it was advertised as St Marys Street but the property was actually on Westgate Street. - It needs to be stated clearly that all persons staying in the property need to send a photo of their ids not just the booking as we nearly didn’t have all IDs present before check in.
- The photos of the property are different to what it states on the website
- The property stated on the booking 4 separate beds ( 2 doubles and 2 Sofa beds) but we turned up and it was 3 double beds. Unfortunately we needed the 4 separate beds so one of us had to sleep on the sofa without a quilt or pillows. When I asked the host about this he ignored my requests.
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Dawn (10/5): Great Apartment - Great location and very spacious apartment.
Walking distance of train station, right next to stadium. All the food and drink you could want within 5 mins walk.
Easy key collection from Keynest.
Apartment was clean and tidy throughout.
Ideal for a family or small group of friends.
Excellent value for money and would definitely book here again! Nothing negative really.
- Charlee (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean, modern property.
- Matthew (9/5): Great accommodation would definitely use again when visiting Cardiff. - Fantastic location for the city centre.
perfect for a night out.
really close to the Principality Stadium.
- Julie (9/5): Spacious comfortable very clean apartment in an excellent location. - Spacious comfortable very clean apartment in an excellent location. Would stay again.
- Arkadiusz (7/5): Good -
