- Debbie (10/5): Perfect great location, very spacious comfy beds. Bread butter milk eggs and cakes waiting for us wa - The home from home feel. The hot tub comfy beds location
- Michael (1/5): Just don't do it. Stay somewhere else. - We booked a year in advance. We told the owner we’d be 8 adults and 6 children, that came up at £802. He accepted the booking request for that many people at that cost. I still have those e-mails. We booked within the 24 hours as required. The booking itself was slightly confusing with numerous options but we chose the £802 option as that was what both sides had agreed.
A week before going we noticed the booking was for 8 adults but the children weren’t listed. I contacted the owner Mark and forwarded on the above e-mails. His correspondence was not pleasant.
Despite him setting the cost and him accepting the booking request, he was only going to release the keys if we paid him a £250 deposit and £500 for the children STRAIGHT INTO HIS PERSONAL BANK ACCOUNT. Booking.com said any changes to the booking should, of course, be paid via them. The also confirmed he had no authority to ask for a deposit (let alone into his own bank account).
Mark said we could cancel if we didn’t like it. We couldn’t do this ourselves. Booking.com contacted him to ask for him to cancel it. He refused.
Booking.com ultimately cancelled the booking and we got a full refund.
Bookings are currently suspended for this property. There’s a reason for this!
If you absolutely have to have this place make sure all your ducks are aligned from the start. Do not rely on the good nature of humanity, you won’t get it from the owner Mark.
- Blackwell (10/5): Beautiful location, well equipped property and was ideal for a family mini break - Beautiful and cozy The size of the garden and it was well kept.
- Rebecca (8/5): Great house great value for money - On arrival we were left with bread, milk , eggs , butter ,squash, cake ,biscuits we thought this was a wonderful welcome ,
Very spacious such a lovely place to spend time with family
Hot tub was ready to go ,
- Robin (8/5): Perfect for what we needed - all good
- Lauren (4/5): Lovely house. Awful host communication. - Facilities, the location, the house itself was amazing.
Couldn't have needed anything extra The hosts.
There was an oversight during the booking process which appears to be an error with both the system and my oversight. This was brought to our attention by the post after 2 hours of arrival. The manner in which it was brought to my attention was demanding, threatening, intimidating and very rude. It caused great upset on what was meant to be a relaxing stay. There was an additional cost, despite when looking to book again with the children added to the booking it is the same price as what we originally paid. We understood the fee and were happy to pay it, however the host sent message after message and phone call after phone call in quick succession and sending messages which were distressing. The host could have communicated more politely, calmly, and professionally for the matter to have been resolved without it resulting in the distress that it did.
For anyone considering booking this property I strongly advise you confirm REPEATEDLY every single detail with the host before your stay to ensure this doesn't happen to you where you're demanded to pay additional charges in excess of £100.
I would like to confirm that when I was receiving the messages in quick succession, the host then failed to reply to my message asking for confirmation payment had been received, and asking for the use of both annex bedrooms which I had ended up paying for. I never got the use of the second bedroom.
I have uploaded photos showing my booking price without the children compared to the booking price with children and an additional 2 adults added just a week apart, and no cost difference to my original price.
If it wasn't for the hosts communication style and manner then we would have returned to this property for sure. Before confirmation was allowed I had to message the host with who was going to be attending the property (how many guests etc) which I did and it was accepted at the price I originally paid. This is the 3rd photo you can find attached.
- Kathryn (10/5): -
- Jithu (9/5): Excellent - Property is very clean and the facilities are all good for a large group Nil
- Lynn (8/5): - The house is very spacious. Very clean and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location is great and within a short walk into Narbeth. The hot tub and pool room were great There was a smell in one of the upstairs bathrooms. The hot tub was filled up by the cleaner and we were told it would be warm within 2 hours. But we couldn't use it at all the first night because it hardly warmed at all.
We couldn't get the tv in the back room to work at all. We phoned the owner who said someone would come over but sadly no one did.
I text the owner as well about this problem. But again had no reply.
I think another set of keys would be useful too. Because there is only one set for the house and the annex
