Guest Reviews
- Kirsty (7/5): Beautiful cottage, set in the beautiful Snowdonia countryside - The cottage was a good size and amazing views from the rooms inside. The location was also great for Snowdon and the rest of Snowdonia. There's also a village shop and a lovely pub all in walking distance. It was great for one night after a long hike. Thanks for having us! We didnt realise the third bedroom you had to actually leave the main house (its in the basement) and the listing said 2 double bedrooms, however the hosts said they would fix this error. The beds were not very comfortable either, unfortunately.
We also didnt realise until we got there that dogs could only be downstairs. I would say dog tolerant more than dog friendly.
- Edinson Zapata (8/5): Comfortable and excellent location. - The location, views from the back rooms, bbq đ area in the garden. Could be a little bit cleaner. Access to the basement room is not in the house.
- Sharon (7/5): Nice Cottage not suitable for elderly - Lovely Cottage Not a fault of the Cottage, on holiday with my 82 year old mother, who struggles with the cold and stairs. Not made clear that the downstairs toilet and bathroom was accessed via outside steps, which meant climbing the stairs to go to bed. Smart TV not working downstairs, but the onwers did try to resolve.

- Oleg (5/5): Overall it was a nice place to stay however, it could attend some improvements. - The house contained every essential necessity, it was a nice secluded area. We found difficulties trying to get into the house as the pin to get the keys was incorrect, the wifi password was also incorrect, the hot water tap in the bathroom didn't work although it said it does when fully opened.

- Shaun (10/5): Perfect - Very cosy Parking a bit tight but not a problem
- Annmarie (7/5): - The cottage was cute, but it was a bit damp. Quite cold, had to put the fire on but was ok because we weren't in the cottage that long. The dampness and coldness of the cottage, also the extra room was in a separate little outhouse and my 12 year old wouldn't sleep on his own so I had to put 1 child on the sofa due to not stating the outhouse bedroom even existed.
- shajikumar (8/5): Amazing - Really cute and homely No hot water upstairs in the tap
- priyanka (10/5): -
- Magdalena (7/5): - Location was nice, the shop and pub is close. The front room is nice and cosy. The kitchen was well equipped. The cottage is relatively small and there is no parking directly in front of the cottage. The additional bedroom is useful, however less convenient being outside and it has a smell of not ventilated room.
- Cher (9/5): Cosy warm village stay 45 mins from Mount Snowdonia - Very sweet, nice owners, lovely to give us croissants and tea and coffee. Warmed up quick and nice to have a bath!! Just note that there are two number 8 properties in opposite sides of the road. We were trying to get into property for a while in the rain trying to figure it out!! The other No 8 is opposite with a red door!!
- Przemyslaw (10/5): Grate house and nice place. -
- Eshan (8/5): Comfortable and peaceful place to stay - Very tidy and comfortable place to stay in a decent location. Kitchen was well equipped with a table and 4 chairs, only missing a corkscrew bottle opener and a washing machine. There is a 3rd bedroom with external access and a terraced outdoor area to relax in with a clothes lines should you need. Bedrooms were of decent size, bathroom was clean with electric hot water. Lounge was comfortable with 2 sofas, TV and good wifi. Parking was 1 minute walk away, and free in the local village car park. Surrounding area was quiet. About 40 minute drive to the western mountain car park entrance (Snowdon ranger path) and about and hour to the Llanberis entrance. Definitely need a car especially if you you want to eat out, although there is a very good place to eat nearby. Excellent information from the host and great communication. Would most certainly recommend despite some negatives. Main double bed was too hard for me (have back issues) and the 2 single beds were too soft according to my friends. I was lucky to have gotten parking in the village car park, but can imagine difficulty in finding space elsewhere should it be busier. The the road outside the house has yellow lines and is quite narrow, so having to unload outside the house has to be quick and will block oncoming traffic. BBQ had parts missing. Would have appreciated extra towels as I had forgotten mine.
- Robert (7/5): Great for a one-night stop. - Nice cottage on Trawsfynydd high street close to the excellent Cross Foxes pub and a very well-stocked village shop. Ideal for a one night stop on the Traws Eryri bike route. The Heritage bike/walking Trail around the lake is also well worth the effort (8.7 miles). Some instructions for the smart TV would have been useful and the WiFi password didn't seem to work (but that may have been operator error).

- jelena (10/5): Very cozy, very clean and welcoming. - What a lovely little cottage. Very cozy, absolutely immaculate and clean. Fresh linen, towels, sparkling bathroom... what else can you ask for? We loved our stay and definitely would return again. We loved complimentary Welsh cakes left for us and little notes around the property was great. Not applicable
- Alex (5/5): - It was clean and in a nice part of the Snowdonia area. Everything worked and was nicely labeled. It was to find one google maps. The host provided a what three words location but with little access to internet it was hard to use. The parking was horrible with moving luggage. It is the most narrow part of the road and so you could not stop a car without blocking traffic.
- Holly (8/5): Very good - Great views, very friendly neighbours and lovely little cottage. The side door didnât unlock not sure if the lock was stuck so couldnât get down into the garden, have to go out the front door and down.
Busy street, noisy
- Richard (7/5): Good -
- David (8/5): Very good - Nice little house right in the centre of the village. Just a few minutes walk to the local shop and pub.
- Man (8/5): Very good -
- Kerry (8/5): Very good -
- Vladimir (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paula (1/5): depressing - the beds the tv bedding the smell the garden the cottage
- Neil (4/5): We thought it was not good value, we are not too sure of the options in this location, but this needs some improvement. - It was a very expensive option given the facilitates. We had no hot water at the bathroom sink, bedroom 3 was quite cold , also with no hot water. We were not impressed.
- Gross (1/5): I would not recommend this cottage, it was too cold and uncomfortable. - The cottage was very cold - we had to wear our coats in doors and it was just too cold to relax - the double bed was not safe - it wobbled when you sat on it and we could see from underneath that it did not seem to be put together correctly.
- Thomas (8/5): Very good -
- Anastasiia (7/5): Good -
- Petrica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elly (10/5): Cute character cottage in a small village - fun for a family - Very characterful and cosy, easy walk down to the shop, the pub and the lake. The parking is a little way (maybe 100m) from the property - it was okay for us but something to consider if you have heavy luggage or mobility issues
- Susanne (8/5): Very good - Lovely cottage. Beautifully presented. Cosy and well equipped.
- Chloe (4/5): Disappointing stay for the money paid. Bathroom wasnât clean and found lots of hair in the bath and - Views from the bedroom and outside space were beautiful. Disappointing stay for the money paid. Bathroom wasnât clean and found lots of hair in the bath and on top of the toilet unit. No hot water on arrival, had to turn on the boiler ourselves.
- Sadie (8/5): Very good -
- Steven (7/5): Pretty good but not what we were expecting - Clean and well appointed - The space was nice, and the facilities at the propperty were good. The TV was nice and the kitchen had everything we needed. The heating waas also good We were expecting a standalone cottage by a lake due to one of the pictures in the advertisement, we were not expecting a cottage attached to others in a standard street nowhere near the lake in the picture. To be honest that picture should be removed from the advertising as it is quite misleading. The beds were also uncomfortable and very hard. The is no parking outside the unit so you have to leave your car about 200m from the cottage (#8). If they send you 3 words for the locations be aware these are used in an APP for the location
- Lorraine (8/5): Great location for our planned visits. - Location, warmth, authenticity We found the beds very uncomfortable and bedding of poor quality
- Harsha (6/5): Pleasant -
- Karthiha (10/5): It was a great stay - Nice location. Clean, have basic necessities
- Nabanita (8/5): Very good -
- Taskeen (4/5): The hot water ran out very quickly, and the shower didnât even work. The downstairs TV also didnât work. It was challeng - The property seemed clean, however there were lots of cobwebs. The property was hard to find. When we arrived we were given the wrong key code and couldnât get in. We rang the number provided but no one answered or called back. We coincidentally saw a neighbour outside who knew the code and helped us get in. Not ideal circumstances.
- Gill (10/5): Perfect for us for one night - Compact and bijou but just what we needed. Itâs dog friendly but the garden security could be better. We just went out with the dogs to keep an eye on them but would be nice to be able to just let them out.
- Maria (6/5): Pleasant - Bit overpriced.
The bathroom was a bit shabby, and cold.
Very noisy, could hear from the next door.
No wardrobe in the bedrooms.
Kitchen was good, fully equipped and living room was nice. The bathroom and the noise you could here specially from the bathroom to the next door room. That bedroom was very small and the bed had no access from one side.
- Pamela (8/5): Very good -
- Boyle (8/5): Wales Holiday - Location was great We could not get in the accommodation as the PIN was not sent to us, had to ring the owner
- Louise (9/5): cosy and comfortable cottage - well equpped kitchen, cosy accomodation, lovely back garden front bedroom - could hear some noise from the street
- Maria (7/5): A nice stay for just 1 night - Very clean and a nicely decorated. The host was considerate to leave us 2 types of coffee and other extra bits. The bed in the main bedroom needs fixing as it's wobbly. It would have been nice to have the heating turned on in the morning of our arrival as we found the place damp and chilly. The book with information about nearby facilities needs to be updated. For example, the pharmacy has been closed down.
- Angie (8/5): A pleasant, welcome and warming retreat. - Warm and cosy retreat was just the ticket to raise our spirits after the bleakness of Trawsfynydd which has one (good) shop and a guest house with tables and chairs and a drinks licence. There is nothing else.
The pub burned down in 2018 and was never replaced. The nearest reasonable offering is a car drive away. On the plus side there is always the decommissioned nuclear power station to gaze at.
So you are better off staying in. The cottage is nicely decorated with lots of yellow and bee themed furnishings, very pet friendly. Fire TV.
Good electric stove to add cheer in living room. Delightful third bedroom annex reached by stairs outside. Shower needs attention as it is almost impossible to use. The head doesnât fit the bracket and the temperature is erratic ranging from cold to scalding.
A little salt and pepper would have been welcome in the kitchen. Bulb needs replacing in electric stove in living room.
A bedside lamp and table in main bedroom would be good.
- Daniel (10/5): 10/10 nothing less nothing more :D - Its a really nice, old cottage with lovely decorations. And its very comfortable. Nothing it was just perfect.
- Trini (9/5): Superb - Lovely location. Cottage was lovely and warm. Very easy to find. Only thing i might suggest is having some sort of door mat. Just it rained heavily the night we stayed and when we got back soaked, the floor became very wet when we entered. It would have been good to have a mat to try absorb some of the water.
- Orion (5/5): Passable - The home didn't appear to be thoroughly cleaned. It's like someone walked away in the middle of cleaning. There were no towels available. Beds were not comfortable, but the stay was for one night.
- Lewis (9/5): Superb -
- Steve (8/5): Very good -
- Aubrey (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely cottage. Nice quiet area with a good lively pub just down the road.
Can't ask for more Nothing
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bryan (7/5): Clean, tidy, well equipped, great location for our bike ride and good facilities nearby. - Excellent location for our bike ride, pub and shop nearby, very well equipped for our short stay. Nothing, it was fine.
- Paul (7/5): Good -
- Leighann (5/5): It was okay - Location Water heater made a noise through the night and kept most of us awake
- Schavemaker (6/5): Okay'ish - It was nice that the kitchen had enough space for the four of us. The hosts was nice to come over on the third day to check whether we had enough towels, etc. - which we did not have enough of. I was sleeping in the separate bedroom downstairs. The room was not very hygienic since a.o. I needed to share my toilet with a woodlice. The pictures on Booking seem very nice, but I was expecting a much more cozier place and much more nearer by the lake; the place was right in the center of the village. Overall good effort to provide accommodation, but for this price I would certainly opt for an apartment / hotel closer & cleaner to Snowdonia.
- Highton (5/5): OK, price was too high for the facility. - Ideal location for me. Rooms were tiny and the beds were not comfortable. Kitchen / dining area was very clean. The basement room was not acceptable so the children slept in the living room.
- Mustafa (7/5): It was cold when we got there & electric heating are not worming the property properly. - Location , cleaning Heating
- Aaron (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roman (7/5): Good -
- Jessika (9/5): A glimpse of Wales - Loved the feel of this property, would definitely be great for a longer stay. The parking situation stressed me out at first, I didnât realize where the parking lot actually was (I had the details, but it was wet and dark), and the streets are very narrow. Eventually we figured it out, and even were able to walk a block or so for dinnerâwhich was a good thing.
- Simon (10/5): Great location for climbing Snowdon - Was the perfect location for walking Snowdon. We didnât stay long as we arrived late and weâre out early, but the house was perfect for a group of 4 adults. Suited us perfectly. Had all the fa omitted we wanted and was a cosy place. Not sure there was anything we didnât like!
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Nathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Noreikiene (9/5): Superb -
- Steve (7/5): Good and would come again. Hopefully the price would be cheeper for 2 people - Parking for the property was difficult
- Karen (8/5): We needed a property close to Cricceth so this was great. The accommodation was very clean, tidy and pretty. We were ab - Beautifully quaint property, clean and tidy. A local pub selling good food and a small store down the road for supplies.
The external room perhaps needs a tad more updating but it was ok for us and the dog :) And it provides an extra loo which is great for a family of 5.
- Gemma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (7/5): Good -
- Gautam (9/5): Lived up to our expectations - Clean and tidy. Idyllic location
Location ideal for various points of interest as short drive away None
Not an issue but to point out for other visitors that car park is @100 metres away- free
- Dmitrij (10/5): Exceptional - Good location!
- Michelle (4/5): Rubbish and never again! - We were told dog friendly!! Door opened straight out onto the road. The back garden the gate was completely broken and not secure. You access the back garden by the door that leads onto the main road. No door to open and access the garden without danger. The housekeeper was in there ironing when I arrived. She also went on and on about bins when she knew we had to keep the bin blocking the door due to one dog running out on the road and nearly being hit by a car. We knew it was bin day but our dogs needed a morning wee! - this all made it so so stressful and dad needed relax due to recovering from a stroke!! Cobwebs all over light shades. Flooring had no carpets in bedroom which was not comfortable. The 3rd bedroom is accessed by going outside and into a horrible spare room that we simply did not use! You find out about this room once you have paid your money - it could clearly be explained in the description. When you arrive it is horrible off loading your car as on a narrow road and a resident in a big car literally nearly took our wing mirror off and was moaning at us for needing off load our stuff. No washing machine although states there is one. The photos make it all out to be much nicer than it is. Will not be a returning customer and thanks for making our break so damn stressful!! This place is not dog friendly at all and when speaking to locals they said other visitors have said exactly the same.
- Jennifer (7/5): Great location - The location is great and the cottage is beautiful and clean. The mattresses on the beds were really uncomfortable and none of the guests managed to sleep well.
An advice,
The outside bedroom needs more decoration to feel more cozy, also there is no bin or neither mirror in the downstairs toilet.
- Ann (7/5): A comfortable stay - Two nice bedrooms. Well equipped kitchen. Good heating. Nice location. Excellent tv options. Free car parking was 70 yards away. No facility to park on-road outside the cottage. Third independent bedroom was not up to the same standard as the other two bedrooms.
- Corey (10/5): Exceptional - The location and the view The weather
- Claire (5/5): Just didn't hit the mark unfortunately - Communication between the time of making the booking and checking in was good. Welsh cakes left in the kitchen were a nice touch. Good WIFI. Located in a traditional Welsh village with a pub within walking distance. No private parking but there's a free village car park a couple of minutes walk away. In my opinion this is really a two bedroom cottage not three as advertised. There is an externally accessed basement room under the lounge with a basic sofa in it that can convert to a bed but the room is totally isolated from the rest of the house, furnished to the bare minimum and doesn't really feel fit for purpose as a place to comfortably sleep. We were three adults expecting to have our own rooms but two of us ended up having to share the twin room instead. The house is a lot smaller than it looks in the photo's, with the lounge, kitchen, bathroom and main bedroom all being a lot more on the 'cozy' side than anything else. There is also a steep staircase with restricted head room as a note to anyone tall, those with mobility issues or who are travelling with children. If you had a full house of 6 (3 x 2) guests you'd definitely struggle space wise.
Something else to be aware of is that the double bed is on the hard side of firm and might be an issue for some. I travel a lot and don't often feel the need to leave negative comments but I was definitely expecting a much better standard of accommodation overall for the price we paid.
- Karen (8/5): A lovely little cottage - Easy to find using whatthreewords and a car free car park down the road. Perfect for what we needed, 20 mins from Pont Y Bala parkrun. The fridge didn't work but the owner was helpful when reported to them.
- John (8/5): Very good - Well-presented clean house in a quiet village. Local area is beautiful. Host provided lots of extra information for the stay. The third room is via a separate door. Might not suit for younger children if a family is staying. Double and twin rooms arecadjacent.
- Kelsey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ulrike (7/5): Good -
- Stuart (8/5): Very good -
- Mrs (8/5): Very good -
- Inga (7/5): Good - The cottage is well presented and very nice. There are a lot of lovely touches like a pack of welsh cakes and a well stocked kitchen. I liked that there was a bath, but I don't think there was hot water from the taps upstairs. I did not chase it up, just used a shower instead. The shower worked well. There were plenty of fluffy towels and a little heater unit above the towel rail to help them dry. A hairdryer was a nice bonus as I forgot to pack mine. Location was the biggest disappointment, because we expected a better seating area outside and from the pictures hoped to see a glimpse of the lake. The garden was unkept and did not look inviting. The barbecue was not fit for purpose and we had to buy disposable ones. Luckily the oven and grill worked well and saved the day. The fridge froze all our food when set to 4 degrees, so be aware. My fault for not checking the location thoroughly on street view. Also no parking at the property, but also own fault as I overlooked the information about parking. As a family we missed a washing machine and me as a person definitely missed hangers for clothes. There was an iron and an ironing board, so that helped with the issue. The double bed is small, but it is a cottage... But the mattress is definitely not comfy. I expected better of the property priced at this level.
- Anonymous (10/5): we needed accommodation as we were taking part in the Plains Rally located in Bala. after searching hotels we came acros - compact cottage in a small village with a pub within walking distance. Owners very quick to respond to messages and very helpful. would have liked parking by the door but honestly it wasnât a problem as there is a free car park near the pub that was more than adequate and only a couple of minutes walk.
- Fozia (10/5): Amazing stay!! - Wasn't sure how to turn the hot water on
