• Michael (5/5): Just about comfortable if you're not too fussy. - Staff really helpful. Location excellent. Room smaller than expected, a bit run down and not well cleaned. Breakfast a little ordinary. Only had it once then chose other places.
• Donna (8/5): Fabulous location in an refurbished building - We were staying in Singapore for the Formula 1 and the location is excellent! It was possible to walk to the venue (but of course the Singapore humidity made it impossible to be outdoors during daylight hours) but we could also catch the metro or buses right outside the venue. Orchard Road was also close by and all the main attractions of Singapore were also closely linked via public transport. The neighbourhood in the vicinity was also excellent to explore with Bugis also only walking distance. The breakfast was also hearty and delicious and staff were always friendly and helpful if we had any enquiries. The building is quite old although has been refurbished.

• Minling (4/5): 在F1比賽期間的市中心住宿5晚SGD$1,057算是便宜，但此區周邊的飯店價格都差不多，設施可能更新更舒適，建議多比較價格和需求後再訂房。 - 住宿地點很理想，距離F1賽道zone4的gate步行約20分鐘內可抵達，Raffels Place一帶徒步路程約15分鐘左右，夜間觀賽後省去許多通勤問題，也不用花大錢搭計程車，離國家博物館、南洋藝術學院、SMU都很近，飯店周邊環境安靜不複雜。往返機場或前往市區景點都很方便，相對商業區附近的飯店也較便宜，是理想的住宿區域。 飯店隔音極差，隔壁房說話、看影片、洗澡的聲音都能聽得一清二楚，走廊有人走動的聲音也很明顯。戶外的人聲、車聲、雨聲也都能清楚聽到，幸好這區清晨和夜間並不嘈雜。飯店建築和房內裝潢、家具都很老舊，兩台電梯運行時的聲音都像是隨時會解體，浴室和床、mini bar都很基礎，此房型房內沒有額外的座椅或沙發，入房後僅能坐在床上，房內沒有提供室內拖鞋，整體清潔程度勉強能接受（像是老式家庭旅館）。早餐像是經濟艙的飛機餐，但飯店周邊可選擇的咖啡廳、餐廳很多，價格也實惠。

• Pats (10/5): Fits Our Needs - Checking in and out was a breeze despite the crowd (hotel seems quite popular). The staff especially at the reception is super friendly and polite. We were asked to switch to another room but was not a problem at all since they asked graciously. Slippers are available upon request! Cons: only 2 pillows were provided (1 per guest), additional cost if you ask for more. I sleep while hugging a pillow so this was quite inconvenient for me, wish they provided 2 pillows per guest. Also, walls are thin so we can hear others guests but not a biggie since it's quiet at night. Breakfast spread can be improved as options are very limited, great coffee though! Best: right across Bencoolen Exit A with a nearby 7-11. Amazing location!

Buffet breakfast was chaos with staff standing watching as plates were left on tables and tables left unclean, so we had to ask for a place to be made. I think it's the budget hotel thing where patrons think it's okay to take everything they see offered.

• De (9/5): Value for your money. Location is just perfect for the main attractions I wanted to see. - The staff. They were very friendly. Food taste was average, but enough to fill one. None that I can think of except the comfort room at the ground floor which was not too clean.
• Pim (6/5): Good location but overpriced compared to room and facilities - Thd location was good, near Bencoolen MRT The hotel, room and facilities was quite old compared to price. The room was a bit dirty, there was a few hair on the floor even we asked the housekeeper to clean daily but it seems they just only cover the bed and replenish items. Also, the air conditioner was leaking!
• Masrawati (5/5): Not recommended unless for solo traveller, u can stay - Superior is small, no chair, no bidet in the bath room. The swimming pool is a joke and the gymn also. Feel deceived by thr pic. Staff not always presence at the lobby, no response when being called.
• Lorna (6/5): Great location rooms are not up to standard - The location is fabulous, right in the heart of where you want to be. The staff are also very helpful and friendly. The room was small and did not match the photos that claimed to be the same type on the website and also had an interconnecting door to another room, which had a noisy family in it and you could hear everything. During one almighty downpour of rain, the windows started leaking a cast amount of water into the room. It was reported to reception, and the "fix" was to place a towel on the windowsill.
• Masrawati (5/5): The location is good but the rest are so so I consider paying 100 SGD per night is not worthed. - The only good thing I like about this hotel is the location. Some staff are very helpful but some were not. The breakfast was very standard but it is ok lah. No bidet and the superior type is small. I think its overprice here. The deluxe type is ok. The fitness centre and the pool are jokes to me. Its only good from the picture. So dissapointing. Few times (at evening and even morning, no staff at the front desk and no one answering the call so need to go down to the lobby and told them what we need (after knocking a door, we believe staff inside) esp considering the old lift that was slow.

• Tracy (5/5): Good location but rude staff - The location The staff. I reserved the room on my behalf of my friend. I called the hotel prior to my friend’s arrival and told the staff that it would only be my foreign friend who would be there. The staff instructed me to send an email with my friend’s name and I also forwarded my friend the details of the room reservation. When he checked in, there was no problem on 20/10 but the counter staff was rude to him when my friend got back to the hotel around midnight. Most of the staff are foreigners, hence it reflects badly on S’pore’s reputation. I was appalled when my friend told me this when I had already done as per the instructions of the hotel staff and told them that although the reservation was made & paid by me, my foreign friend would be the only one in the room. It’s really unprofessional of the staff at the reception to ask my friend who else was in the room when I had already done so. In conclusion. It would always be better & more professional to have a local hotel staff in the front line.

Severe mould outbreak in hall wall outside of room. Noise from adjacent nightclub from 12 - 3 am. Repairs to floor coverings outside room left strong odour of glue through 1 night. Noise from adjoining room.
• Dianne (3/5): Sorry but cannot recommend - Small pool was refreshing for swim. Air conditioning cold and fan pointed directly at face when in bed. And covered in mould! Checked out after 1 night due health risk. Have applied for refund and have not been contacted by booking.com
• Maria (9/5): I love the place so i recommend this hotel my mom and i enjoyed our stay - I love the location it’s at the center . The pkace is quite, the ambiance is so refreshing at the entrance because of the orchids that’s catches my attention.There’s also a free breakfast which serves daily. iThe hotel is popular that the grab driver knew the place easily. The bus and tube is close at the hotel. Restaurants , 7/11 store are just across the street. For those tea lovers this place is best for you because there’s also a Tea store across the street And the most i love is there’s a Money Changer infront of the hotel .Bugis Street is just close by foot and Bugis Mall too .and there’s a local foods or restaurants close to Bugis Mall which is worth of money. The breakfast is only few of choices so i guess i may suggest to add more

• John (4/5): will not stay here again - First room booked thru Booking . com you could not have 2 suitcases opened or put anywhere, room was too small. Had to upgrade to Family room at extra cost . ( expensive) Breakfast. not much choice

• Koray (1/5): Do not trust any comitment of the male receptionist, but the lady receptionists are honest. - I have not had a breakfast, as my choice. 1- Room telephone was deteriorated physically, and did not work. They didnot fix the phone, and did not replace with a new one although I warned 2 times, furtherly they comitted and did not do. 2- There was not laundry service although it was mentioned at "booking. com". + I requested laundry collection; reception guy comitted to send somebody. But they sent me an ironing table, and a hand iron. 3- Room and bathroom windows are not openable. Air conditioning shall not be artificial all the time. It smells terrible sometimes.

• Lay (4/5): Time to renovate and refresh the hotel ! - The only thing I like is the location only! The building is too old , the plug is not working well, the wall got blood stain, the bathroom light is very dim and look a bit creepy, the breakfast is too simple and no place to dine in sometimes .

• Koreen (1/5): Very BAD. - Location is great tho. But there are hotels that are better than HOTEL BENCOOLEN and more helpful staff. I booked our room with bathtub, when we got there, they gave us standard room with no Bathtub, room is very smelly and very old. When i ask the front desk staff that our room should have a bathtub, she said that she cannot do anything since its a third party booking, i ask if we can call customer service of bookin.com but she said that she cannot do that because she dont know the hotline number. I emailed customers service in booking.com but they cannot also help me upgrade or even refund the room difference that i paid. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HOTEL STAFF!!!!!
• Kiang (4/5): Dissatisfaction with Hotel Bencoolen for the price charged! - Breakfast is extremely poor. Poor quality and very limited choices as compared with Chancellor Hotel which is much cheaper! Shower unit is semi damaged and there is no shower curtain. The soaps provided are too small. Bed sheets or the pillows smell very strong of sweats. Swimming pool is so small that it is too small for even kids. One receptionist was extremely rude when I brought a guest to have breakfast without having to report to the reception first as told by the receptionist on checking in late Thursday night that it was not required because it was a twin room so long as they don't stay overnight. However one of the day porter was extremely helpful and kind. No proper Asian buffet breakfast nor continental breakfast provided as claimed in their website. Shower unit damaged with no curtain. Bed sheets and pillows smelled of sweats. Too small swimming pool not suitable even for kids. No proper separate male and female toilets in the reception area for waiting guests or visitors.

Asked for receipt, they pushed it to Booking.com, I asked Booking.com, they never replied me... booking.com is really sxxx

• Yoseph (8/5): Great. It was important as religious Jews to be in close proximity to the Maghen Aboth Synagofuw - Pakteek (Pacheek) knew everything and was always helpful. He is fabulous. So too are all the staff. Great and helpful people. For a famiky room we were very crammed. Perhaps we should have ordered a bigger room or two small rooms. We thought that the "Family room" would be bigger ....
