• Harriet (10/5): Great apartment in great location - Great location, lots of room for parking and easy to walk out. Room was comfy enough, bed was comfy, shower was good power! Bathroom was a little unclean, some hairs and dust about but nothing major. The bathroom floor was unbelievably cold and couldn’t work out the heating in there to dry the towels and warm it up.

• Mitch (3/5): Great location, 3 bedroom (lords) accommodation is too small for families - The central location and available parking is excellent The 3 bedroom accommodation (lords) is not fit for 6 people to stay. Very low ceilings, small rooms, the biggest issue for us is that it stated that it has a dining area with dining table but this is not the case . Kitchen is tiny with nowhere to store food, very limited utensils and no microwave or dishwasher. Toilets bubble up when others in building flush, water can come out of the toilet when this happens

• Catherine (6/5): - The location of the Apartments was excellent for the restaurants, cafes, pubs and for visiting Lake Windermere, also being able to park your car outside the property The Apt did not meet our expectations, we feel there are some issues that should be addressed, on entering the Apt there are noticeable cracks on the ceiling, it looks like there had been a leak, we appreciate it is an old property and you can have problems, but noticing the ceiling did not give a good first impression, the kitchen unit doors did not appear to have been cleaned properly there was marks over most of them, there was used foil left in the oven, the kitchen tap is wonky and the living room door would not stay closed, the pillows are quite lumpy and uncomfortable, the decor on the walls and paintwork is looking tired, the Apt should to be freshened up to meet a better standard and the cleaning and maintenance of the Apt should be checked more thoroughly.

• Stephanie (9/5): Wonderful apartment in the heart of Windermere - The location was amazing in the centre of Windermere, walking distance to everything. The apartment was modern, spacious and clean. Beds were very comfy. Really good value too. We didn’t want to leave. It was cold when we arrived and you can’t control the central heating but I made a phone call and this was soon sorted.

The location is perfect, everything is conveniently nearby. The apartment itself is spotless, beautifully designed, and recently renovated with excellent taste. It’s also incredibly well equipped with everything you could possibly need. What truly makes this place exceptional, however, is Chris. From the moment we spoke before I arrived, he was incredibly kind, attentive, and professional. He went above and beyond to help me with anything I needed and was always quick to respond to any questions. He is genuinely a very special person and truly caring. I couldn’t recommend this place more! It’s absolutely spectacular and I wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else in Windermere.

Parked the car in their private car park and used the frequent bus service to get to Ambleside and Grasemere so did not need to find parking spaces there. Very responsive staff to a couple of quick questions.

Very spacious and trendy apartment on the top floor. Two large brand new TV’s and great to have one in the bedroom. Just a couple of things which we believe would set this apartment above the competition. Coffee pod machine an air fryer and if I’m totally honest better pillows and towels as they felt a little used 😇

• Jennifer (9/5): Spacious, luxurious, super location and a great price - The apartment was huge, clean, beautifully decorated, fantastic location (a 7 minute drive from Brockehole Visitors Centre and the lake.) Huge TV in every room. The layout was really well thought out. Our 9 year old loved having her own bathroom and loved the hidden toilet inside the kitchen cupboard.. I guess it was like Narnia to her 😂. And for the great price we paid it was so much better than staying in a smaller hotel room that we would normally book. We all really enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again in the future with this company. They could do with fixing a bit of the flooring where the pink bathroom entrance and the hallway meet. There is a little lip/point where the tiles and flooring meet it’s just a bit sharp. We just put a towel/mat over it and it didn’t ruin our stay at all and would return.

• Charlotte (9/5): A perfect base for a trip away to the lakes! - We had a fantastic New Year’s Eve stay at The Governance Apartments with friends. The apartment was spotless, stylish, and had everything we needed for a perfect break. The location is ideal - close to everything but still peaceful. The property team were incredibly helpful and friendly from start to finish, which really made the stay even better. We had such a great time that we’ll definitely be returning next year. Highly recommend! There were no mirrors in the rooms and the bed in the second bedroom was extremely creaky/wobbly - but this didn't detract from our stay!

You are in the city centre but still exclusively away from the noise and the hustle. A hair dryer and a coffee table were missing. The heating could be better.

We met the hosts in the morning who were only to happy to share some local knowledge with us, we will definitely use this property again couldn't fault it.

• Wai yee (9/5): - It was convenient had free parking apartment was spacious, kitchenette had everything you need to cook a simple meal, if you didn’t want to go out for a meal, a heater was provided if it was too cool. The apartment had an extra large bed think it was super king, bathroom was ok towel radiator wasn’t warm enough to dry the towels. Despite being an old building the apartment was quite modern would stay again if visiting Lake District. There was an Amazon echo in the bedroom which has a camera but you could turn the camera off and turn the echo towards the wall for privacy, this is just nitpicking.

Minor attention needed - Needs attention to the toilet flush that seems to be very noisy even when not in use. Kitchen cooking units are bit worn, need replacement. All very minor aspects. • Andrew (7/5): Excellent location, nice apartment, but could be improved. - Very large apartment. Excellent quiet location. Very well decorated, in keeping with the history of the building. Good communication before hand. On the whole, we had a great 4 nights, but there were a few things we felt needed addressing - We appreciate that it's an old building, but there was only 1 of the sash windows that opened in the living area. The only way to open this( as it was very hot) was to climb on the kitchen units! There was no blind on this large kitchen window. It needed a plug near a mirror, so I could see when drying my hair. There was nowhere to plug the fan in the bedroom, again because of lack of plugs. The bedside lamp didn't work. There was a smell in the bathroom in the sink, and the water in the shower didn't drain away. There was a lot of dust in the bathroom and bedroom( appreciate the dark colour showed it up), under bed, in the drawers, and found someone's socks next to the drawers. Would have liked a long mirror. This does sound a lot, but if all these small issues were addressed( noticed a couple of them were pointed out previously), this apartment would be exceptional.

Stylish decor and comfortable beds. Loved the stained glass window in the bathroom and automatic lighting. No microwave or freezer section in fridge. No wine glasses. No dressing mirror other than in bathroom. Bathroom impractical as no ventilation and the door handle is lethal. As was the lifted section of flooring in the hall! Hate the political theme - noone wants to look at huge Trump poster or be anywhere near Thatcher memorabilia!

• Diane (7/5): Great, but lacking a few essentials - The apartment is beautifully decorated, had comfortable beds and plenty of space, in a great location. There wasn't good ventilation in the bathrooms which made the bedrooms feel a bit damp. As the kitchen did not have a dishwasher there was a lack of kitchen cleaning items, dishcloths, kitchen roll, extra tea-towels, anti-bac spray would have been useful, there was no oven glove and was missing other utensils you would expect - pizza cutter, mixing bowl, scissors etc. As this is a luxury apartment a coffee machine would be a nice addition, as opposed to half a jar of coffee granules well as better quality towels.

• Helen (7/5): Lovely 2 bedroom apartment in a central location but let down by the bedrooms which were cold and damp as in the basemen - Stayed in Parliament apartment which is in a beautiful building in a central location between Windermere centre and Bowness. Spacious, comfortable living space upstairs The 2 bedrooms are downstairs in the basement and were cold and damp which wasn't ideal. They definitely need heated towel rails in the bathrooms as the towels never dried as the radiators never came on.

• Catherine (10/5): Good family apartment - I booked a 3 bedroom apartment (Lord) for my family of 6 for 3 nights. The apartment provided a link online with vital information about parking and apartment access and how to use the apartment. The apartment provided one free parking per apartment which was beneficial to customers since parking is limited. This apartment is on the 2nd floor, and the entrance immediately opens to a staircase leading to the rooms, kitchen, and lounge areas. The refrigerator in the kitchen was small. It is useful to have a kitchen for a family. The location was in a quiet area and only 5 minutes walk to restaurants and stores. The apartment is great for families with older kids and not ideal for little kids and people with disabilities who can’t walk the stairs. The room in the attic was narrow and not ideal for tall people since it is easy to hit your head. Suggestions for improvement: provide paper towels
• Catherine (10/5): Good value apartment - I booked a 1 bedroom apartment (Westminster) for my husband and I for 3 nights. The apartment provided a link online with vital information about parking and apartment access and how to use the apartment. The apartment provided one free parking per apartment which was beneficial to customers since parking is limited. This apartment is on the first floor, and it has a spacious living room with a beautiful gas fireplace. It has a kitchen and refrigerator/freezer. The location was in a quiet area and only 5 minutes walk to restaurants and stores. There is a private patio area which is nice if it wasn’t raining. The apartment is great for couple. Suggestions for improvement: 1) provide paper towels, 2) more plates, cutleries, coffee cups… the apartment only had a set for 2 people and we needed to use the dishwasher every day even if it wasn’t full, 3) provide washing machine detergent, 4) gas grill bbq in the outside patio area

• Rebecca (8/5): Great place, ideal for most groups 🙂 - Great location, plenty of little cafes, shops and pubs within a few minutes walk! Not something we hated but we’d definitely recommend taking a fan if you’re there for a summer stay as it got very hot, if you’re scared of spiders it might not be your cup of tea as there we saw quite a few and a lot of cobwebs. If you stay in the 3 bed Lords and you’re more than around 5ft 6 you need to mind your head that’s just due to the sloped ceilings and beams. Lords also isn’t ideal if you perhaps have mobility issues due to the number of steps around the place and narrow hallway, not a reflection on the company at all it’s just the building.
• Neha (10/5): Go for it! It’s a great choice! - Location was great! The building is one of those old manor type buildings but apartments are modern and very well furnished. Host Eric was available all the time via phone. We really liked the apartment and the location (walking distance 5 mins to city centre) Honestly everything was really nice! It’s an old building so there is no lift but it’s understandable. I would really like if the host could also add wine glasses and some salt/pepper in the kitchen. Rest was great!

• Lisa (10/5): Beautiful apartment in a gorgeous old building near Windermere center - The apartment is in a beautiful, old renovated building. You do have to climb three flights of stairs. The inside is spotless and very minimalist. The proper safety equipment is visible. The beds are extremely comfortable, and the shower was delightful. It is located very close to the main drag in Windermere. The hosts do a great job communicating. The heat was individualized for each room and there were TVs in each room along with an Alexa in the living area. Watch your head as there are low ceilings and beams! I would highly recommend this apartment. If you plan to eat there, the kitchen is decently equipped, but there’s no microwave, spices or paper towels and no kitchen table. Not a big deal for us. Otherwise everything was perfect.

• Sarah (10/5): Fantastic value for money and beautiful location, we hired 2 apartments and used the Parliament as our shared living roo - Stunning apartment in great location, plenty of space & great facilities. Slight plumbing issues, but didn’t affect our trip too much :)
