Guest Reviews
- Peter (6/5): - Clean, good parking, modern, comfortable No hot water upstairs, tv played up on & off
No instructions for electric hob
Bamboo sofa uncomfortable
Paid £130 for cleaning yet expected guests to strip the beds, sort out the rubbish, cannot put bottles in the bin - told to take to recycling plant!!
Two rooms upstairs mysteriously locked!
- David (7/5): We would not rent this property again. - Clean property with most things provided. We had no constant hot water upstairs The taps kept running cold
. It is unsuitable for anyone who is slightly disabled. There is no non slip bath and shower mat, provided.
Outside step from front door dangerous.
There are no instructions to use hob.
It’s a good 15 to 20 mins walk into the town definitely not a short distance.!
- Rhian (7/5): Pleasurable - Beautiful property very comfortable and very clean and cosy Neighbours very loud lots of banging doors quite late into the night
- Karen (8/5): Relaxing and peaceful. - It was within walking distance of Aldeburgh and Thorpeness. 2 parking spaces were handy to have as it looked like off street parking would be essential in that area. It was modern, spotlessly clean and had plenty of utensils in the kitchen. Everything you would need. Very quiet location. 5 minute walk from a small well stocked Tesco and Co-op. There wasn’t anything we didn’t like. Except a minor issue- no hanging rail in 2nd bedroom.
- Liz (9/5): A very pleasant stay in a good location. - The key safe was next to the front door. It was a bit fiddly to get open, but they often are! The beds were very comfortable and the house was cosy and warm. We were able to sit at the table in the garden, which was very pleasant. The house was well-appointed and in a quiet location. We didn't have to walk too far to the main street. We had to ask for someone to help us work the electric hob, as we both have gas. Some simple instructions by the cooker or in the folder, would have been helpful. Also, we could not get the hot water to work through the shower, so some instructions would have been appreciated. There was only one tea towel.
- Maureen (10/5): Enjoyable short break away. - The cottage is very well equipped for anything you may need. Whether it’s for a short or long stay.Perfect location. A short walk into Aldeburgh where there are plenty of places to eat and drink. The coastal walk to Thorpness is lovely. Aldeburgh is a good location to visit many of the places on the Suffolk coastline.
We visited Framlingham town and the Castle, also Snape Maltings . The castle was incredible. Both places well worth a visit.
- Catherine (8/5): -
- Stephen (10/5): -
- Chris (9/5): - Very well equipped and good for dogs.
- Sarah (7/5): A nice weekend - The location.
Beds were very comfortable No tea/milk on arrival, it’s a small touch that makes a big difference, especially after a long journey.
Paw prints/mud on the back door, animal hair on the hard sofa.
The hard/wooden sofa was quite uncomfortable.
The toilet brush upstairs was very dirty 💩
- Tracey (8/5): Great find with good facilities. Modern and clean with great walks to the town. Great for the dog to - Lock box with a clear text in advance with the code number No glass recycling on site, no working bulb in garden light, no fan working in shower room.
- Jane (8/5): - Location was good, didn’t take too long to walk in to Aldeburgh. The house was clean, warm & cozy. Had everything we needed. Very close to a couple of supermarkets, one of which had fresh croissants delivered every morning. Nothing really. The only thing was we couldn’t find the house. The address said Martlet Cottage which was not on the property and isn’t in the details! I did find the number of the house eventually. It could be made a bit clearer!
- Christopher (10/5): Excellent - Clean warm, well equipped
- Christine (9/5): Suffolk Holiday - Nice & clean except for the TV had a mark on the middle of the screen. Lovely kitchen lots provided. Could have done with an en suite bathroom. Lovely little garden. Good position for going out etc.
- Stephen (10/5): - Good location near coastal path. Great for walking and running. Good size, easy parking, nice garden and quick walk to restaurants and beach.
- Fiona (10/5): A lovely, dog friendly nook which we loved staying in. - This was a perfect little spot hidden away in a corner of Aldeburgh. Easy walk into town (approx 15 mins). Everything needed was there and it was very clean. We and the dogs enjoyed our stay hugely. Nothing - spot on.
- Andrew (10/5): - The house is modern, very clean and very comfortable. The hosts were excellent, and the location is brilliant for visiting the Suffolk area. Aldeburgh is only a 12 minute walk to the High Street unless you have a dog who sniffs every 10 yards. We would certainly stay again ... great value for money Nothing .... all brilliant apart from the rain on Saturday!!!
- Dunning (10/5): - Tastefully furnished and very comfortable. Great garden and very close to the pub.
- Robert (9/5): Great place in ideal location 10 minutes walk to town - Location and style Slight smell of dogs in the living room..but it is dog friendly so no complaints really
- Gill (10/5): Lovely house clean & comfortable just needed grass cut - Lovely house clean & tidy Grass wasn’t cut
- Ian (9/5): Superb -
- Candida (8/5): A comfortable house on the outskirts of Aldeburgh -
- Andrea (8/5): A most enjoyable week in a new area for us - Very comfortable beds. Clean and fresh throughout. Quiet Within easy reach of the sea and town. Lovely town, nice garden Lots to do and see in the area No tray, cooker hob no instructions, despite good hep from agents, I was still not able to work it properly. Would it be possible to slit the larger bed into 2 singles if preferred
- Trevor (9/5): Superb -
- Philip (9/5): Perfect property in a quiet location away from but within easy reach of the shore and town centre - Perfect property for our out of season break on the Suffolk coast. A modern well-equipped house located in a quiet location with all the facilities and amenities we required. Enclosed rear garden was perfect for our dog. Although not located by the shore or in the town centre they are in walking distance - or at the time of year we visited (November) there was always plenty of free parking to be found. The footpath to Thorpeness runs alongside the small development on which the property is located with other footpaths heading both to the shore or inland running off of it - so plenty of walking straight from the front door. Nothing - the property suited our needs perfectly.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sheila (9/5): Great holiday thanks. The town was really lovely and had all you needed except EV 50kw charging. - Lovely house well situated clean and equipped. No Electric Charging on site.
Seagulls were very noisy at dawn ☹️woke us up everyday
- Margaret (7/5): We enjoyed our visit and it is a lovely property, however would not use it in summer again. - Location good
No welcome pack apart from tea and coffee but no milk. In view of cost of property I felt more should be there Upstairs rooms were too hot and fan facilities inadequate.
Check out time too early
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jacqueline (10/5): A wonderful weekend in an amazing, cosy. Very very clean house - Everything was excellent, so clean and. great location - 15 min walk from the centre and plenty of parking. The house was immaculate and well equipped Maybe comfier mattress in the back room but that’s is personal choice
- Mandy (9/5): lovely weekend in a lovely place. will definitely return - lots of space and good secure garden for the dog nothing
- Maria (9/5): bright, clean, warm - it was clean & beautifully decorated.
kitchen full of cooking utensils & modern equipment.

- Kate (9/5): Superb -
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gary (10/5): perfect - this the third time this year .

- Rob (9/5): Superb -
- Yvonne (9/5): Ideal home for a couple and a dog. Lovely house and great location for walks! - Loved the house - great location, good size and nice decor. Also well equipped kitchen, facilities etc. We walked everywhere so good to have a couple of free parking spaces available as didn’t use the car between arriving and departing. Garden is a good size and nice to have a dog friendly property. The property is well heated, pretty cosy and will definitely visit again! Just a small thing…there were no food supplies at all. No tea, milk, salt/pepper etc - it would be good to have some basics or a mini welcome package. Only thing was ice and few dishwasher tablets. Also toiletries/soaps etc in both bathrooms would have been great!
- Jayne (9/5): Wonderful little gem, brilliantly located to get to the Suffolk coast. - The house was clean, comfortable and furnished tastefully. Beds and pillows really comfortable which is often not the case. They had provided thoughtful additions like toilet roll and kitchen roll. It was very well equipped in the kitchen with glasses, cutlery and crockery. All appliances were easy to use. Whilst initially being a little disappointed in the location as it is on a 'normal housing estate' The quality of the house itself and the easy walk into Aldeburgh more than made up for it. There is also a lovely little woodland path directly from the house down to the beach which was a lovely surprise. Final bonus was that the owners are super dog friendly and whilst of course they encourage you to respect the furnishings etc....it was an extremely welcoming environment in which to bring our 15 year old labradoodle! Would definitely return and recommend it highly. Very minor comments as it really was a lovely holiday home. Some welcome things like bread, butter and milk would be hugely helpful. But we loved it all to be honest.
